0:06so one of the questions that we got up

0:09that came in a few different variations

0:11was Sam seems to always be working he's

0:14not ever having any fun

0:17does he take vacations like is life all

0:20about business former does he like to do

0:22other things and then we'll touch on

0:23some some other things people want to

0:25know how you wind down at night before

0:28you start the next day how do you find

0:29fulfillment outside of work and just

0:32what do you like to do in your leisure

0:33time so I guess let's start with the

0:34first one does Sam vacation just

0:37wondering haha only really like you know

0:45you I do it because because of like my

0:49girlfriend she wants to go on vacations

0:51so if it was just up to me I probably

0:53wouldn't because I you know I really

0:55enjoy what I do so I don't want to I

0:57don't need to escape you know most

1:00people use vacations as escape from

1:02everyday life most people don't like

1:05their job they don't like their life so

1:06vacation is like paradise and then they

1:09go back to hell but every day is

1:12paradise for me in so vacation is like

1:15worse i well i'm i generally am not you

1:19know as excited on a vacation i more do

1:22it because i know it's good for me to

1:25rest a bit and i do it because of my

1:28girlfriend mmm and i gotta be fair to

1:31her so that's why i do it but if I had

1:33my own way I probably wouldn't do them

1:35when you are on vacation do you prefer

1:37to work or do you prefer to I completely

1:38shut down in kind of recenter I just in

1:44one or the other like awful on so on

1:46vacation I generally will try and do no

1:48work at all because otherwise it's not a

1:50vacation it's just work in a more

1:52distracting place right yeah makes sense

1:55cool and then what do you do outside a

1:59vacation to kind of wind down at night

2:02so when you get done at night you have

2:05still a few hours left that you can do

2:06before you have to be in bed what do you

2:08like prefer to do with your time there

2:09well it takes me three hours to get into

2:11the zone

2:12and three to get out so well three to

2:15really get in and out and like to to

2:17just kind of get in and kind of out so

2:20like in the morning I have to you know I

2:23wake up and then I go to the gym for

2:24like an hour and do exercise then I'll

2:27have a cold shower then I'll have like

2:30breakfast and then I'll do meditation

2:33and that takes like two hours and then

2:37I'll start working in the first hour of

2:39work is like kind of ratcheting up

2:41towards like being right in the zone and

2:43then I'll power through the day like in

2:45the zone

2:46then to get out at the end it'll take

2:48about one hour of kind of winding down

2:50work which is typically just making sure

2:54the key things are done for the day and

2:56creating my schedule and to-do list for

2:59the next day and I'll do that and then

3:03I'll go and I have to do something

3:06that's completely not work for at least

3:08two hours before I'll be able to go to

3:09sleep if I just stopped working then

3:11tried to go to sleep nothing would

3:12happen yeah

3:13and so I will I pretty much immediately

3:17ever cold shower because that's a good

3:19way to like just snap now if there works

3:21done yeah okay so I get it's like one at

3:24the beginning and one at the end yes so

3:25it's good because they're on these like

3:27you know there's like two there's like a

3:30signal to the body in the mind like

3:32going in going out mm-hmm and so there's

3:35these two things which are there and

3:37they're almost 12 hours apart

3:38I'd like on identical hours so one

3:42happens at 8:00 when happens it's like

3:448:00 or 9:00 so they're almost on

3:45perfect balance with each other and

3:48that's really good because you it learn

3:50your like your brain and everything

3:52learns so like it becomes like a ritual

3:55and that's a good way but you're still

3:59takes me longer you know like I live the

4:02cold shower then I'll get into bed and I

4:04won't touch any work my phone goes on

4:07airplane mode and everything and then if

4:10I'm not too tired I'll read a book but

4:13if I'm exhausted

4:14I will just watch like TV and not TV TV

4:18like I'll watch a movie on my laptop or

4:22I'll watch like a documentary or a TV

4:25nothing with ads in it or any like

4:28nothing crazy like that only something

4:30which I'm I'm purposefully watching hmm

4:33because I want to and I want to unwind

4:35got it why not add what would an ad do

4:38they stimulate your brain like their

4:41design all of these things are designed

4:43to like stimulate your brain it's like

4:46you know they're kind of like drugs and

4:48so those are the last things you want

4:51what you're trying to when you're trying

4:53to like unplug and unwind you can't have

4:56any of that stuff and you don't want

4:58your phone buzzing you don't want new

4:59stimulus coming into your world so even

5:03if some like my phone goes in airplane

5:04mode at the moment I have that cold

5:06shower so if anyone has any crisis after

5:09there's I'm out but you can't reach me

5:12because you have to be like that if you

5:14want to unwind if you read an email in

5:17it you're like you're not gonna be able

5:19to have you're not gonna be able to go

5:20to sleep mmm so you have to detach from

5:23everything and then if you're

5:25purposefully watching something then

5:28it's you know it's the way it happens

5:31with your brain it's like I'm going to

5:33watch that then go to sleep and then if

5:35you watch there and go to sleep you've

5:36got control of like the situation but if

5:39you watch TV where it has ads and people

5:41are flicking between channels there

5:43misses the brain up because it's like

5:45it's changing and it's jumping and it's

5:47it's thinking should I watch this new

5:49thing should I go that way should I go

5:50that way it's they're actually

5:51stimulating their brain and they're like

5:54they're tempting themselves to watch

5:57like longer things and go into and do

6:00things which they weren't they didn't

6:01have the intention to do mmm

6:03so it's very important that like you say

6:06I'm going to do this and then go to

6:08sleep and when you when you're watching

6:11movies before sleep blue light blocking

6:13glasses or something else now I just

6:16have the flux at computer it just makes

6:21the screen like yellow earth like it

6:23becomes like yellow or orange at night

6:25which is good because they're white

6:27light it can is supposed to let me suck

6:29asleep right yeah what's the best

6:34documentary or series that you've seen

6:36in the last month

6:39this documentary there's lots of good

6:44ones I don't know about a clear absolute

6:47winner yeah but I mean the one that

6:51stuck out to me the most probably this

6:52year would be like watching the Michael

6:54Jordan documentaries mm-hmm just because

6:57he's so good showed me just because he's

6:59so good you you what you know there's

7:02some stuff there's some like there's

7:04some learning yeah right you know anyone

7:07who become anyone who climbs to a level

7:08they're high if you look at this story

7:11and listen to what they did and

7:12everything in get to know the person

7:13you're gonna learn a lot mm-hmm so

7:15that's typically like the higher the

7:17person is and the more they've achieved

7:18the more you're gonna learn if you start

7:21digging right and so I started watching

7:23like all of his documentaries there is

7:25way more than I thought you sent me like

7:2712 and I was like I didn't know this

7:28many existed on Michael Jordan yeah and

7:32it's amazing what you learn by watching

7:34those things like like he taught me a

7:38lot about like focus and not falling out

7:43of love of the game and falling for it's

7:47distractions so what happens typically

7:49is when you get into something like

7:50business right you you want to like get

7:54really good at this and have the best

7:55product or have the best service and and

7:57beat your competition on all of that and

7:59when you first go into basketball like

8:01to use that as a parallel example you

8:04want to be a really good basketball

8:05player you want to get points you want

8:07to you want your team to win but as you

8:09start getting really good all of these

8:12things start getting drawn to you like

8:15you know with basketball like girls like

8:18they start coming in like the thousands

8:20or hundreds of thousands and then you've

8:22got all of these offers from everyone

8:24but people want you to be the face of

8:26their brand they want you to do a deal

8:28with them and all of this there's like

8:30advertising opportunities like

8:33endorsement opportunities and then

8:36you've got all of these fans social

8:38media like you know the public opinion

8:40the

8:41and the meteor and interviewers and all

8:44of this just starts like just

8:46swarming around you and the people that

8:50fall for it they always end up losing

8:53because what happens is like though

8:55they'll get into basketball in the

8:56beginning because they love the game and

8:58they want to win but then comes the

9:00girls the lifestyle and the money and

9:03the cars and the parties and they forget

9:06and they start attaching to that and

9:09then by attaching to that they neglect

9:12this the game and then they suck at the

9:15game then they end up losing and then

9:17this disappears as well mmm and it gets

9:19everyone because like it distracts you

9:23and then you lose both things when you

9:26fall for the distraction so like when

9:29Michael Jordan quit basketball for like

9:31a year to go and play baseball part of

9:34why he stopped is because he said that

9:37he had fallen out of love with the game

9:39of basketball and he knew if he kept

9:40going like that he would lose and we had

9:44ruined his legacy so in part of what

9:47made him distracted was that he had

9:48started doing all of these TV

9:49commercials he started like polluting

9:53the pureness of his practice so his

9:56practice used to be so pure and now it

9:59had become polluted with all of this

10:00stuff

10:01and he didn't like it anymore because of

10:03all this so he quit and then just

10:05started playing baseball then when he

10:07started to crave it again he went back

10:09and then he won again and so you've got

10:13to be careful not to fall for the

10:14distractions of your work because the

10:17more money you make the more money

10:18you've got to spend and you don't want

10:21to fall in love with like buying things

10:23when your main goal is to get better at

10:26what you do mmm

10:27right that makes sense it took him from

10:30going like to baseball for a few years

10:32to realize that he actually did miss it

10:34or maybe when he went to baseball to

10:37because I know that was like one of his

10:39old like his first love was in sports

10:42was that was he thought maybe this is it

10:44maybe I'll find more fulfillment in

10:46baseball than I would in basketball but

10:49ultimately yeah I mean that makes a

10:52complete sense

10:53do you have you ever seen that in your

10:55life where you are like you know I don't

10:57I don't think I am in love with this

10:58anymore and then you left it alone for a

11:01little bit and you're like oh yeah I

11:02really was like some like quite a lot of

11:06the time I'd say once every month or

11:08something

11:09I'll just get kind of drained and then

11:12I'll just decide like I'm just not going

11:14to work for like the next two days and

11:16I'll just like lie on the couch and

11:19watch documentaries and just do that for

11:22like two days and then when it comes

11:25back that feeling that I really want to

11:27work it in then I'll jump back into it

11:29we've got to be very careful that like

11:33you learn when it is actually real

11:36versus like an illusion but when you're

11:38starting out it's always just an

11:40illusion

11:40but you're not burnt out yeah because

11:42most people aren't doing anything so

11:45it's just an illusion that they're that

11:48they should rest in everything because

11:51it takes you know it takes working like

11:5415 hours a day for 30 days straight to

11:57really get even near fatigue and burnt

12:00out so unless you've done that then you

12:02know that you're falling for an illusion

12:04yeah you have to have some sort of

12:05baseline to judge to know if it's real

12:07or not again got it that makes sense but

12:11that pretty much Oh fulfillment outside

12:13of work too so you kind of touch on that

12:14but just in general like is what what's

12:18fulfilling outside of work for you

12:19besides besides watching shows or

12:23reading just really just doing like

12:28nothing like I don't have to wean I stop

12:31working I don't really want to do so I

12:34don't want to do an activity I just want

12:35to like be like you know just have a

12:38conversation just do whatever I don't

12:41want to like fill it up with another

12:44like action thing you know what I mean

12:46mmm but outside of work like my favorite

12:49things to do would probably be reading a

12:52book like watching documentaries I like

12:55things where you can cheat a little bit

12:56like you can be relaxing and taking time

13:00off but really you're learning

13:02and like you're getting better so I like

13:04those ones that's like books

13:05documentaries or just like socializing

13:09with with people who you know have good

13:14things to say then you're not just

13:16talking like they've they've got

13:18good insights and they're doing

13:20interesting things themselves because

13:23those are ways to recharge and learn at

13:25the same time mm-hmm

13:27yeah and yeah that makes sense do you

13:30ever find motivation from going out from

13:32others and they they're telling you

13:33about the things they're doing only if

13:35the person is really good mm-hm like if

13:38they're if they've given everything for

13:40something then then they're generally

13:43good to talk to but if they're just

13:45thinking about it is agonizing and if

13:50the worst one is when it's fake because

13:53that's just the worst it totally depends

13:56how like dedicated someone is to their

13:58thing but it doesn't even have to be

14:01business that's why I look into sports a

14:03lot and athletes and all of this stuff

14:05because it's all the same

14:07they've just mastered something they've

14:09mastered like a game and you know

14:12business is pretty much a game
