0:00everyone cinnabuns here and in today's

0:02video I want to share why I get a way to

0:05think and specifically I want to share 7

0:09things with you that I've been thinking

0:11about a lot recently and you might have

0:14noticed that last week I didn't release

0:17a new blog video typically I released a

0:19blog video every Tuesday and last week

0:22that didn't happen the reason why is

0:23because I was taking a seven day

0:26vacation with my wife Ashley and we went

0:29on a road trip we drove from Los Angeles

0:32here to Salt Lake City and it was an

0:36awesome vacation and some of you might

0:38be surprised to think like oh my god sin

0:40actually goes on vacations I thought he

0:42was a robot robot goes on vacations and

0:46I go on four of them each year for seven

0:50days each and they are aligned with the

0:53equinoxes every 90 days so it's very

0:56robotic structure for when I take them

0:59and the reason why I take those breaks

1:01is there's a few like one of the main

1:04reasons is because I need rest you know

1:07I work six days a week 12 12 hours a day

1:09and I take sunday off every week but

1:12then I need some longer is sometimes to

1:15recharge my batteries and that happens

1:18you know every kind of 90 days and it

1:22also aligns perfectly with the the

1:25quarters so in business you know this q1

1:28q2 q3 q4 that's the end of the year it's

1:31a nice way to kind of break the years

1:32down like you've got a year that's one

1:34chunk then you've got quarters then

1:36you've got months then you got weeks

1:37then you've got days then you've got

1:39hours then you've got minutes right it's

1:40a good way the kind of structure and

1:42chunk down time and why I take these

1:46breakers to get away to have a rest also

1:49they have some fun and also to go

1:52somewhere with my wife where it's just

1:54her and I and with I'm not doing any

1:58work I do absolutely no work no email no

2:00nothing it's just seven days and pure

2:02just hanging out relaxing and we mean

2:04skiing snowmobiling we meet up with some

2:07of our custom

2:09Andrew argue and Amanda argue they're

2:12successful students of elves at

2:14consulting.com they're making about

2:16eight figures a year which is more than

2:18a million a month

2:19and the company is accounting and tax

2:21calm and you should go check it out

2:23they've done incredibly well I remember

2:25when Andrews first started working with

2:26me on January 5th 2016 he was making

2:30seventeen thousand five hundred dollars

2:32a month with the generalist marketing

2:35agency and he started working with me

2:36Jan 5 and he exploded in growth you know

2:41within the first kind of 90 days he was

2:44making about 300 thousand a month and

2:47you know those results are not typical

2:49at all so don't think that like everyone

2:53that joins our programs are

2:54consulting.com his results like that

2:57admittedly he's probably the best

2:59success story we've got right but we met

3:03up with him and we hang out at the end

3:06we went skiing and it was an awesome

3:08time and you know another reason why I

3:10take these vacations is because

3:14sometimes you put a distance yourself

3:16from like your business and what happens

3:20is you get too close to the thing you

3:22know sometimes you're too close to the

3:26trees and you can't see like the forest

3:28and the patterns throughout it and

3:30you'll just zoomed in on the details and

3:33what you need is a real change in

3:35perspective so that you can kind of rise

3:38above it see it from a different

3:40perspective and think like am I even on

3:44the right path and the things I've been

3:46worried about and obsessed with are

3:48these the right things so these really

3:50the things that are going to take me to

3:51where I want to go and so these

3:54quarterly vacations are actually

3:56instrumental to growing your business

3:59and I have some of my best breakthroughs

4:01on these quarterly vacations so it's

4:04kind of counterintuitive you know like

4:05you can take time off work and do more

4:10during that time off then you could do

4:12when you're working right so I highly

4:15recommend it if you're an entrepreneur

4:17like you should take totally breaks go

4:19away for seven days and stick

4:21to it annual feel free and a wife will

4:23probably appreciate you for it a lot too

4:24but you know better to the point like

4:27while I was away on vacation what I try

4:30to do is not really have any agenda or

4:32anything but what I notice is that the

4:36things that keep popping into my mind

4:38like I'm just trying to go about my day

4:40like going skiing or hanging out or

4:42whatever but what I'm what I've been

4:45observing is some things just pop into

4:49my mind and they keep popping in and

4:50they keep coming back and these nagging

4:53things these are the things that you

4:56really should address when you get back

4:58from that vacation right because these

5:01are obviously the things that that need

5:04solving and need attention and so it's

5:07quite cool to see what those are

5:09naturally and I'm not even trying to

5:12work but my mind is kind of tucking in

5:13is it's working on these things even

5:15though I'm not like actually sitting

5:17down and trying to take action and this

5:21is a very powerful strategy that a lot

5:24of successful entrepreneurs have used

5:25like Bill Gates's famous for taking like

5:29a week or two off at the end of every

5:31year and going away into like a mountain

5:33cabin in the mountains with just a bunch

5:35of books in reading a bunch of books

5:36being by himself and thinking like is

5:39this the best strategy from Microsoft

5:42moving forward a lot of entrepreneurs do

5:45that and the thinking you do there in

5:47the reading you do there it's

5:48instrumental to your business and its

5:50growth now what I'm going to do in

5:53today's video is first of all I wanted

5:55to explain you know why I get away to

5:57think like you think a lot better when

6:00you remove yourself from the situation

6:01you kind of view it you view it as an

6:04observer more than a participant and

6:06when you're a participant with in a

6:07situation like you cannot really be as

6:11objective and as rational as an observer

6:14can

6:15because an observer is not involved in

6:17the unfolding of the situation they're

6:20just passive on the side and so it's

6:23really powerful to become an observer of

6:25your own situation and try to view

6:29yourself through an objective lens

6:31because that's when you can be like oh I

6:34was probably wasting a lot of time doing

6:35that and I should have probably focused

6:37on that but I was neglecting there it's

6:39a great way to gain insight and make

6:42those big jumps in your business now the

6:45second piece I wanted to do in this

6:47video is share like the actual things

6:48that I've been thinking about right not

6:50just explain why I get away to think but

6:52tell you what I was actually thinking

6:54about and I have seven key things that I

6:58came up with and the first one is the

7:03market has inverted and everybody is

7:06backwards right so this has been

7:10happening for a while and I'm by no

7:12means the first person to observe this

7:15thing that's happening right but I what

7:18surprises me is that most people most

7:21entrepreneurs they still have not caught

7:22on to this and what happened is in like

7:28before the internet and before like

7:30Google search and before all of these

7:33tools the key to really being a

7:37successful entrepreneur was probably

7:39spending 20% of your time working on

7:42making a great product or a great

7:44service right

7:46and then 80% of your time was bests

7:50being shouting about it and telling

7:52everyone about it so at 80% marketing

7:54and promotion 20% like product and

7:57really honing your services and that

8:00used to be the recipe for success and it

8:03didn't really matter if companies had

8:05superior products because you could out

8:07market them like there were multiple

8:09cases where someone had a superior

8:11product and like the company with the

8:16less superior product would win because

8:18they could just unleash a marketing

8:20firestorm but what's happened now and

8:23the spur

8:23much happened since the birth of the

8:26internet especially Google and

8:28especially social media and really all

8:32of these tools that gave the average

8:33everyday consumer a voice and more than

8:36a voice like a megaphone right and

8:38what's happened now is that inverted

8:41like the market has inverted it and so

8:44now it's all about the product and so

8:46really if companies want to win in

8:49today's marketplace they should spend 80

8:52percent of their time on the product and

8:54the service and making that the best

8:55they can and only 20% of their time

8:57marketing and sales like telling people

8:59about it right because people have

9:02amazing tools to go out and do their own

9:05research and like word-of-mouth and all

9:08these things they've never been more

9:09powerful and what still shocks me is I

9:12meet a lot of entrepreneurs and they're

9:14they're spending most of their time on

9:16the marketing in the sales still and

9:17they just don't get it and you know this

9:20if you if you think that like I don't

9:23know what I'm talking about with the

9:25statement well here's how I heard about

9:27it so I actually heard about it from

9:30Eric Schmidt who is who was the CEO of

9:33Google right Google's pretty they know

9:35what they're doing Eric probably knows

9:37what he's doing and Eric quoted Jeff

9:40Bezos where he said that you know the

9:42market used to be 80% shouting about it

9:4420% so this is Google Eric Schmidt Jeff

9:47Bezos they're the ones talking about

9:49this stuff it is real it is happening

9:51and businesses that don't really

9:53understand this they're going to fail

9:55and they're going to face death so this

9:59is a key insight and I just keep

10:01thinking more and more and more about it

10:02and I want to try and tell as many

10:04entrepreneurs about it because you're

10:06going to face the music and you know

10:09when it comes it's best to have been

10:11warned and prepared right now the second

10:15thing is value is king like if you

10:20really want to win there's so many

10:22different details you can think about

10:23like ah does my website look cool or do

10:26I have this pop-up or this widget or

10:27this chat bot or all those crap right

10:29and you need to focus on one key thing

10:32if you want

10:33progress and leaps and bounds and the

10:35easiest way to think about business is

10:36that you know value is king if you

10:39provide the most value to the customer

10:40you will win regardless of anything else

10:42all right that's just as simple as it is

10:45and then you like I started thinking

10:48about it and I was like well how does

10:50value get created like how is value

10:52created for customers and really

10:55customers have problems and then

10:57companies provide solutions to those

10:59problems in the form of products and

11:01services and the byproduct of applying

11:03their product or service to that problem

11:05is a solution and therefore value is

11:07formed and so that is the equation of

11:11how value comes about now the video you

11:14solved the problem and the faster you

11:16solve the problem the cheaper you solved

11:17upon all of these different things

11:18determine who is providing the most

11:20value right but how do you actually

11:23create value like what is the what a how

11:27does value get created and really if

11:30value is all about having the best

11:31product like we've got the best product

11:33or the best service they're providing

11:34the most value but then how do you

11:36create a great product

11:37well really it's it's talent and this is

11:41something a lot of entrepreneurs don't

11:42go to like you know they're just

11:44screwing around with marketing and sales

11:45stuff which don't get me wrong it has

11:47its place it's important you can't

11:49neglect it but it's only 20% of the

11:50equation then the other 80% of it is

11:53having a great product providing value

11:56how do you do that well you have great

11:58talent and at the start this can be you

12:01but if you really want to win then you

12:04need to hire a team of people who can

12:07create value because imagine this

12:08scenario imagine that I have a business

12:11and I'm the only person at creating

12:13value I'm the only talented individual

12:15in the company innovating right well an

12:17easy way to beat me would be to get ten

12:19people who are talented there's ten

12:21times the horsepower they will win so

12:23you know there's a lot of entrepreneurs

12:25business as I see where the only person

12:27whose talent or intelligent and their

12:30company is thin and they're too easy to

12:33beat you know or someone has to do is

12:35hire two talented people and they went

12:37right so really you need to focus on

12:40having a talented team but then how do

12:42you get

12:43well it's all about recruitment and

12:46these are things you never hear

12:47entrepreneurs talk about but you never

12:49hear people talk about recruitment even

12:51hear them talk about talented team and

12:53you never get them talk about product

12:55right and you never really hit them talk

12:58about value instead you hear them talk

13:00about chatbots marketing and garyvee and

13:04things like this right now you can think

13:08about and talk about whatever you want

13:09but if you want to win you need to be

13:11thinking about these other things if

13:13it's just you and you're a sole business

13:15owner you want to be really focusing

13:18most of your attention and time on being

13:20the best or becoming the best and once

13:23you once you've really started to make

13:24progress towards that you need to work

13:27on hiring a team of great people around

13:29you and then really what I realized is

13:34you know given the market inversion and

13:36given that value is king and the flow of

13:38how value is created through valuing

13:41product talent recruitment you know to

13:44win what I really need to do me

13:46personally my number one priority is I

13:50must go all-in on recruitment because if

13:53I go all the non recruitment and I make

13:55that my thing and that means that I can

13:58recruit a team of tons of people and

14:00that means that we can create great

14:03products and that means we can provide

14:06the most value and that means that we

14:07can win right so that's kind of how I

14:10reverse engineered it and this was going

14:12through my mind when I was away and so

14:14really I realized okay well this is

14:17quite a change for me I'm going to be

14:19basically spending 80 90 percent of my

14:22time recruiting talented people and you

14:25know I think a lot of people they never

14:27think about that but really if you a

14:30CEOs main shot a CEO or a manager or an

14:33entrepreneurs main role once they get

14:35the ball rolling and once they get

14:37cash flowing in and an inch selected and

14:39all other stuff it's not to actually

14:42like be selling or marketing or things

14:46like this its to be recruiting a team

14:49who can innovate and create value and if

14:53you think about it really a company is

14:55what parts as a company made of it's

14:58made up of people and a company really

15:01if we sum total the individual people

15:04within it we get the group and really

15:08the smartest companies are the ones that

15:09win and so really the company that hires

15:13the smartest people wins and no one

15:17really thinks about it like this people

15:19when they try to hire they typically

15:20outsource it to I don't know like some

15:24third world country and they try to cut

15:26corners on costs no one like this I see

15:30most of the time in the online business

15:34base is really making it the number one

15:36priority to go out and hire talented

15:38people and be a recruiter right and it's

15:42quite interesting to think about because

15:44I have absolute conviction in it I'm

15:46going to be spending most of my time

15:48doing it whether you do or not that's

15:51totally up to you but I'm just sharing

15:53with you some things that I've been

15:54thinking about and then you might be

15:58thinking okay well Sam if you're going

15:59to be going out and recruiting a whole

16:00bunch of people and spending most of

16:02your time doing that who are you really

16:03looking for like and I was thinking this

16:06too like what what are talented people

16:09like what what are the core ingredients

16:13that makes up a talented person for us

16:17as a company consulting.com and really I

16:20came up with this term intelligent

16:24unorthodox athletes so the three

16:27components intelligent unorthodox

16:29athletes now really why I'm looking for

16:31people that like this is first of all

16:33intelligence like raw brain horsepower

16:36how do you test this why is it important

16:39well really like the market moves so

16:42fast and our forecasting skills

16:45and ability to predict the future is

16:47pretty crap so therefore someone's

16:51skills don't really matter and really

16:54the only thing that matters is their

16:55ability to gain skills in the future

16:57because they're bound to change and what

17:00makes someone able to really learn

17:03skills is intelligence raw mental

17:07horsepower and what I mean by that isn't

17:09someone's IQ test what I mean by that

17:11really is someone's ability to solve

17:14problems like their problem solving

17:16skills their curiosity their cognition

17:19and really their endurance and their

17:22ability to focus like brain power and

17:25really what I'm looking for in people is

17:28before anything else is just this raw

17:30intelligence raw brain horsepower more

17:33so than skill more so than experience

17:36more so than anything but that's not

17:38enough I also want people who are

17:40unorthodox and what I mean by this is

17:43you know people who aren't just going to

17:45follow what's already done like the some

17:50of the worst people I see think that

17:52what's most popular is what must be true

17:55which is terrible logic and leads to

17:58groupthink and madness of crowds and all

18:03sorts of delusions and it's definitely

18:05no way to actually run a business it's

18:07certainly no way to win in business and

18:10what I what I like is people who are

18:13willing to like invert the status quo

18:17and go against the crowd stand on their

18:20own have really strong opinions and even

18:23controversial ones but they're not

18:25delusional in this they backed up with

18:27data right and so I really like these

18:31people and a question I ask a lot of

18:32people to try and dig at this as you

18:35know what is something that you believe

18:36to be true that nobody else agrees with

18:38you on all right think about that

18:40question it's kind of tricky and what

18:43I'm looking for is people who they're

18:47able to analyze the situation see what

18:49the crowd is thinking and see what the

18:52status quo is and the prevailing

18:53biases but then forget that and then

18:56conduct their own analysis and then form

18:59their opinion based off that and then

19:02stick to it and bet on it against the

19:05crowd this is what I'm really looking

19:07for and that's what I call an unorthodox

19:09person and the final component the third

19:12one is athletes and why say athletes is

19:16because you know athletes are great at

19:18understanding that they're at the

19:21greater understanding competition and a

19:23lot of people in business they fail too

19:26they fail to remember that business is a

19:28massive competition and you're fighting

19:31other people every day it never stops

19:33and they keep coming back harder harder

19:35hug and you need to get stronger

19:37stronger stronger and you the best way

19:41honestly one of the best ways to to do

19:44that is to work harder and so it's not

19:48enough to be smart and it's not enough

19:51to be unorthodox and innovative you have

19:54to be extremely smart unorthodox and

19:56innovative and relentlessly hard-working

19:59right like greatness is never achieved

20:01working 9:00 to 5:00 so you know we

20:04don't want anybody who just wants to

20:06work 9:00 to 5:00

20:07because nothing great is done at 9:00 to

20:105:00 now this doesn't mean that you

20:11can't stay your business and you can't

20:13run your business working 9:00 to 5:00

20:14you absolutely can just don't ever

20:16expect to win right because I can

20:18guarantee you you won't and so I'm

20:20looking for people who possess these

20:22three things like a chemical compound

20:25rate of an apex predator and its

20:28intelligence unorthodox thinking and

20:33competitive mindset so intelligent and

20:36all Orthodox athletes that's really who

20:38I'm looking for it and every single

20:39different dimension and component of my

20:43business and I encourage you to think

20:45really about like your business what is

20:47your type of person because not all

20:49businesses

20:50should have the same views on what is

20:53there people you know like it's this is

20:57what makes your culture and this is what

20:58you know makes your company what it is

21:01you've got to know your type of person

21:02and go looking for them and recruit a

21:04team of them and then the fifth thing

21:08I've been thinking about is that you

21:10know recruiting now that we know that

21:12the markets inverted it's all about

21:14product and to create value you must

21:17think about product and to think about

21:18products you have to think about talent

21:20and to think about telling you must

21:21think about recruitment well now that

21:23we're thinking about recruitment

21:24you know recruitment is really like in

21:26David versus Goliath situation and what

21:29I mean by that is it's it's asymmetric

21:32warfare like we have what theater there

21:36are companies out there like Google

21:37Amazon Facebook Netflix right these big

21:40companies they've got hundreds of

21:42billions of dollars and they're all over

21:45the world and they've got so much

21:48resources that they're like the biggest

21:51Goliath ever

21:53and then there's companies like me and

21:55companies like the ones that you have

21:58we're like tiny compared to them and

22:02really if the game is all about talent

22:05and recruitment then how are we supposed

22:07to win against them because you they're

22:10one of their main focuses is we'll

22:12actually did number one focus if you

22:13read their leaders to shareholders and

22:15the ones I'm talking about is Google

22:16also Amazon right you'll realize that

22:19recruitment is the number one process

22:20and they're looking for smart people and

22:22so how do you how do you beat them how

22:25do you find those talented people when

22:28you have a Goliath kind of object in the

22:31market like just Paulo gravitating

22:35everything towards it and it's a really

22:37good question because you can tell it's

22:39been to them and you your brand isn't

22:42better than theirs and you don't have

22:45more time than them so like how do you

22:47do it it's a really good question to

22:49think about and the more I thought about

22:51it the more like while I was on vacation

22:53I thought well you know what I really

22:55want to do is play Moneyball to win in

22:59an unfair game and if you haven't seen

23:02money Google

23:03it's a great movie and it's also a great

23:05book I recommend you watch both well we

23:08actually watch the movie read the book

23:10it's awesome and I'll give you a quick

23:12kind of synopsis of it basically there

23:16was this and this is going to be very

23:18vague because I'm not a sports person so

23:20if I get some inaccuracies in here

23:22forgive me this is just what I remember

23:24about it but basically there was a like

23:30a baseball team and they didn't have

23:32much money they had a small budget

23:33because they were just a small team and

23:36obviously the big teams that are the

23:38famous they've got all the money and

23:40they're able to recruit all the talent

23:42because you know money and fame gets and

23:45gets talent so then how it was a small

23:47baseball team with no money and no fame

23:50supposed to win well that was the

23:54situation they were in David versus

23:55Goliath kind of a symmetric situation

23:58and what they did is they looked at the

24:01data there was an analyst a famous

24:03analyst who really looked at it and he

24:04studied the traits that were popular and

24:08always in the world there are traits

24:10that people seem to have a bias towards

24:14over other traits right and so they

24:17found that like it was betting it was

24:19something to with betting or throwing or

24:21catching like these were the three

24:23metrics that everybody was obsessed

24:25about and willing to pay money for they

24:26thought that these three metrics were

24:28what defined winning and success as a

24:31baseball player right and so obviously

24:34people who had these who were strong in

24:36these three things they were gone forget

24:38about them so what this analyst had to

24:41do is look for like unrealized value and

24:46really look forward players that are

24:48very talented and capable but that no

24:51one sees as talented and capable right

24:54and this happens in the world all the

24:57time right like when you're investing in

24:59stocks the best investments aren't the

25:01ones that are already climbing quite

25:03crazy and everyone is talking about

25:05right I always think about it when the

25:07taxi driver and your friend

25:10smokes weed is talking about it do not

25:13do it like that's literally kind of my

25:16formula if if it's in the news and if

25:19your stoner friends talking about it and

25:20if the taxi drivers asking you whether

25:22he should invest get out and that was

25:25true with Bitcoin and a lot of things

25:27and really where I'm going with this is

25:30that what's popular and what's going up

25:34in value is often the worst thing to

25:36invest in and the best things to invest

25:39in in financial markets real estate

25:41everything unrealized assets and those

25:43are basically assets that have a book

25:46value or or a true value that is greater

25:49than its market value so the perceived

25:53value is less than the book value which

25:55is the actual real value and this

25:57happens all the time with stocks it

25:59happens with private companies happens

26:01without States happens with sports

26:03players and guess what it happens with

26:05employees it help it happens with talent

26:07and so you really if you want to get the

26:10best talent in a David versus Goliath

26:12situation you need to play Moneyball and

26:15you need to look at the things that the

26:18market has a bias towards and obviously

26:21you're not going to be able to get those

26:22people so let me give you an example to

26:24make this real in my company we you know

26:28we there's media buyers for example

26:30people who buy Facebook ads and Google

26:32Ads things like that we don't actually

26:34hire a media bias

26:35we don't want media bias like screw that

26:38it allows people in the world we want

26:40what we want instead is like a data

26:45scientist or an engineer or even a

26:47chemical engineer or a scientist or an

26:49analyst or statistician right someone

26:53with the war skills because these are

26:55all skills people don't see them as

26:59valuable as they see like Facebook media

27:03buyer someone can just be a Facebook

27:04media buyer know how to buy Facebook ads

27:06and then be with a whole bunch of money

27:08but have no real skill and then someone

27:11can be a statistician fresh out of

27:13college not know how to buy Facebook ads

27:15and be really cheap and they make a way

27:19bit

27:20all right so this is what I'm talking

27:22about you got to learn to think

27:23differently and look at the you were to

27:25play Moneyball right so when it comes to

27:28sales reps we don't hire sales reps when

27:30it comes to media buyers we don't hire

27:32media buyers

27:33we never hire managers I dislike

27:36managers over hatred of management and

27:38in my views the best doer automatically

27:42becomes the manager so we hired doers

27:44and when we see one rise and they're the

27:46best they're best equipped to manage and

27:48we don't believe anyone should ever be

27:50managing they should always be doing and

27:52managing at the same time because the

27:54best do is the manager so with all of

27:56these different things we think

27:57differently about it and that enables us

27:59to compete against these bigger players

28:00and find these unrealized assets or

28:04undervalued assets and we also do it

28:07with software engineers you know we know

28:09that a lot of software engineers they're

28:11an extreme demand from all of the big

28:13companies and what they look at is

28:14specifically the number of years

28:16experience they have and also the

28:19company that person works at and also

28:21the the languages that the coding

28:25languages that that engineer is skilled

28:27at so let's say someone knows react and

28:30they also know they've got 16 experience

28:34but let's say they've got four years

28:36experience in react and they've worked

28:37at Google right that is what everyone's

28:41after and so there's a vicious red sea

28:44of competition after this person forget

28:46hiring that person you're not going to

28:47be able to and then even if you can

28:49you're going to pay through the nose for

28:51it so instead you've got to think

28:53differently you got to play money more

28:54and what we really look at is we look at

28:58different things and I won't tell you

29:00exactly what they are for this

29:01particular role but you know we look at

29:03like we look at how they think and we

29:07look at what universities they wins -

29:09and typically we never look at

29:12universities but with software engineers

29:13it's

29:13there seems to be a pattern persistent

29:16with that and you know with what we've

29:19figured out is that we can find really

29:21good engineers that are beyond a Google

29:23level that people don't see as very as

29:27very good and very valuable so we've

29:30identified like unrecognized Talent

29:33means it's easier for us to get them and

29:35we can get them at better prices and we

29:37get great people whereas everyone else

29:39is fighting over here it's true

29:41asymmetric warfare and it's true you

29:44know playing money more so you know as I

29:46tell you this video and I tell you that

29:48the markets inverted which it has and

29:50now that it's done this thing if you

29:54want to win you really need to focus on

29:56value the person who provides the most

29:59value wins if you want to provide value

30:00you need to work on product and if you

30:03want to work on product you really need

30:05to hire talented people and if you want

30:07to hire talented people we need to focus

30:08on recruitment and when you focus in on

30:10recruitment and you're not a billionaire

30:12with a huge reputation then you need to

30:17play Moneyball and you need to identify

30:20the biases and the blind spots and

30:23really construct your own view of talent

30:26find your own way of doing it and this

30:29is how you win and these are the things

30:34I've been thinking about right I just

30:35wanted to make this video and tell you

30:37what I've been thinking about on my

30:38vacation and why I take vacations and

30:40finally point seven is building pyramids

30:43and my next stage of avulsion and what's

30:47cool to think about is that you know for

30:50up until this moment in time I've really

30:52been a builder myself like I've built my

30:55own products full-on I've made my own

30:57funnels my own and it's my own

30:59everything like I've typically built

31:01everything and done everything myself

31:02and I've grown my company over the last

31:04six seven years - like from zero to 30

31:07million a year and really I've been the

31:12Builder and I haven't really had a team

31:15around me that's been building - they've

31:17been like assistant builders right

31:19Anthony definitely built stuff but I

31:22haven't

31:23really

31:24had a company where it can wear

31:28everything can kind of be built without

31:29me just touch that then and my biggest

31:34fear honestly is probably well it is

31:37it's it's getting older and getting to

31:41the point where I can't focus intensely

31:43and work really long hours getting to

31:45that point before assembling an awesome

31:50team who is smarter than me in every way

31:51shape and form and works how them in

31:53every way shape or form that's my

31:55biggest fear it is getting to that point

31:58without having this assembled and so now

32:02all really what my number one focus is

32:04going to be a lot of people always ask

32:06me this question like Sam what you spend

32:07your time doing day to day to be honest

32:10has changed massively or it changes at

32:13different stage of development right

32:15I've been a doer for for like six seven

32:18years I've been doing everything like I

32:20know how to do everything there is in my

32:22business for like that as it currently

32:25exists but my point here is that you

32:28know just think about the pyramids think

32:31about like the permanent of Giza in

32:35Egypt and stuff and that would not be

32:39built by one individual person right the

32:41only way to build those pyramids is to

32:43assemble a massive team and really

32:46talented people and create a good

32:49culture and things like that and so

32:52really I've been building small pyramids

32:55and you might think like I was thirty

32:56million dollars is a lot really it is

32:59but you know I want to build something

33:01up again and so with our new mission

33:04like we our mission is to educate every

33:07human on earth and so that's pretty big

33:10and in order to do that that's like

33:12pyramid bit right and in order to do

33:13that I can't do it myself and so the

33:16next stage of evolution I've got is

33:19really just recruitment and managing and

33:22building a culture and you know building

33:25architecting a great organization and so

33:29that's just what I've been thinking

33:31about a lot it's like I'm now going to

33:33have to get off the tools not completely

33:36I'm just

33:36to remain on the toes a lot because I

33:38love doing I actually truly love doing

33:41it and I would love to just continue

33:42doing it

33:43I don't like managing people and I don't

33:46like like hiring people but the only way

33:49to build now and the only way to advance

33:51then to that next level is to become a

33:55recruiter and to hire people and to

33:57manage people that is building it's just

33:59a different it's a different level of

34:02building right and that is what I've

34:05been thinking about those were the seven

34:07incites and I don't know maybe they're

34:10helpful for you maybe they're not but I

34:13know the first one you definitely want

34:16to pay attention to the market has

34:18inverted and you should be focusing on

34:20product and you should be spending 80

34:22percent of your time improving their

34:24product or service 20 percent of your

34:25time on marketing themselves don't be

34:29one of those people that's just on

34:31social media talking about it like a big

34:32mouth and in case something alright

34:35those people are gonna get the asses

34:37handed to them

34:37and they're already getting their asses

34:40handed to them and you know the

34:43writing's on the wall and if you

34:45actually want to survive and win in this

34:47business game then you need to pay

34:50attention to that message because it's

34:52coming in it it keeps coming on stronger

34:55and it's gonna keep them coming so I you

34:59know I'm not saying that to try skew but

35:01it's a very important thing and so

35:03that's basically it

35:04I wanted to share why I get away to

35:06think I recommend you should get away to

35:08think - and those are seven things that

35:11I've been thinking about now if you like

35:14this video just click that like button

35:15and also let me know what you think in

35:18the comment section below bye if you

35:21like this video let me know and also

35:23click that subscribe button I release

35:25the video like this once every week as

35:27well as customer interviews and live
