0:00I'm back and in this video I'm going to
0:02tell you what I've been up to for the
0:04past 2 years things like completely
0:07restructuring my company consulting.com
0:09starting a brand new company called
0:12school.com living in a forest for a year
0:15growing my hair out having a baby and
0:19completely rethinking what I want to do
0:22with this YouTube channel moving forward
0:25so that's what we're going to cover in
0:26today's video Let's jump onto my
0:29computer and get to
0:32work so about 2 years ago I stopped
0:34making YouTube videos and one of the
0:37last many videos I made was called scale
0:39mess and debt and this video kind of
0:41explains you know what I was going
0:43through at the time I had growing my
0:45company consulting.com to the point
0:47where we were making about $30 million a
0:49year in revenue and I had hired about 45
0:52people really fast and I had also you
0:56know just added a lot of things right
0:59like we were doing po we were posting on
1:01all the different social channels we had
1:04all of these different funnels all of
1:05these different traffic sources and all
1:07of these different people in our company
1:09and different teams and it was just a
1:12mess like our operations were chaotic
1:15and I had to work harder and harder but
1:18our profit margins were very thin
1:21actually and you know there was always
1:24fires going on in the company and I
1:26really just stopped enjoying it I really
1:28fell out of love with with it and fell
1:30out of love with the game so I decided
1:33to just stop and take a break and figure
1:36out how to restructure things and come
1:38back to it with you know some passion
1:41again and it really felt like I was just
1:44feeding my soul or selling my soul to
1:46the content creation machine in order to
1:49feed my company company in order for it
1:52to just keep paying its expenses and
1:54everything and I was just like what is
1:56the point of all of this if I don't
1:57enjoy it so the company called
2:00consulting.com and over the past 2 years
2:02I've completely restructured the whole
2:05thing now this is our new website and
2:09you can see it by going to
2:10consulting.com basically what I did is I
2:13just I looked at everything we were
2:15doing and I thought what is value and
2:18what is waste right value defined as
2:22like things that help our clients right
2:26and value defined is things that make us
2:29money
2:30right and things that I enjoy doing so
2:33how can we make a lot of money how can
2:35we help our clients and how can it be
2:38fun and how can I make all of this as
2:40simple as possible right because what it
2:42had become was you know our client
2:45results weren't as good cuz we were
2:46working with too many people I wasn't
2:48having much fun and we weren't making
2:50that much profit even though we had a
2:51ton of Revenue so we decided to stop
2:54working with beginners we dropped our
2:56Consulting accelerator product and I
2:58decided to just focus on on existing
3:00business owners and really what
3:03consulting.com does now is we help
3:05coaches Consultants course creators and
3:07experts achieve something that we call
3:09Seven figur Zen and this is when you're
3:12making a 100 Grand a month profit with
3:15only one to two products two to three
3:18remote staff happy clients and you know
3:21happy Founders
3:22basically and so we only sell two things
3:25uplevel shows people how to basically
3:28sell a high ticket offer and get clients
3:31to coming get clients coming to them
3:33instead of them chasing them um and run
3:35their business by the numbers so that
3:37they can really focus on profit and then
3:40Quantum is my Mastermind where there's a
3:43group of about 999 Founders that have
3:47course businesses or info businesses or
3:49coaching businesses and they really come
3:51together to collaborate in order to
3:55maximize profit client results and
3:58happiness right
4:00it says right here so I completely
4:03restructured consulting.com to be to
4:06optimize for profit client results and
4:08happiness we've only got two products
4:10now and our team you know we used to
4:12have about 45 people now we have
4:15six and I eliminated all of our traffic
4:18sources like I stopped posting on
4:20Instagram Facebook all of that stuff I
4:23even stop we even stopped running ads
4:25and we used to spend a fortune on ads
4:27like 30 40 Grand a day and and now it's
4:30so simple six people we sell two things
4:34we have one funnel and our only traffic
4:36sources are YouTube and our
4:39newsletter and that's all we do and
4:42what's amazing is that it's more
4:43profitable now than it was even when we
4:46were making 30 million a year just last
4:49month in January we made about 800k in
4:52revenue and our expenses were only about
4:5560k and the rest of that was profit so
4:58we're basically making more profit now
5:00with this smaller Revenue than we were
5:03back then with just six people so it
5:06really does show that you know you can
5:07achieve more with less and if your
5:10business is if you hate working in your
5:12business and it's chaotic and you're not
5:16you're not making that much profit it
5:17doesn't have to be that way you can
5:19rethink things and so that's basically
5:22you know consulting.com and and how I
5:25restructured it now I decided to start
5:28another company a few years ago maybe
5:31like two and a half years ago so you
5:34know I've been creating courses and
5:37running masterminds and things for
5:38almost 10 years and one thing I started
5:42to notice was that I really didn't like
5:45the tools that I was using right and the
5:49in the course world when you're making
5:50money selling courses and helping people
5:52on the internet which is basically what
5:54consulting.com does and what I've been
5:56doing for a while now you there's a few
5:59core components that really go into the
6:01mixx one of them is content you create a
6:05course and you host your course in
6:07something called a Content portal or an
6:08LMS learning management system and you
6:12know there's that part but then there's
6:14also this community part right and the
6:17community part is where all of your
6:18students kind of interact and comment
6:21and you know meet each other
6:23peer-to-peer help right and then there's
6:26this other element which is live Q&A
6:29calls
6:30where you have a schedule like one or
6:31two live Zoom calls a week with your
6:34students where they can show up and ask
6:36you questions and you basically help
6:38them out and Coach them as a group and
6:40so there was these three elements and I
6:42was using this product called kajabi for
6:45my learning management system and I was
6:47using Facebook groups for our student
6:50community and then I was hosting these
6:53these Q&A calls using Zoom but trying to
6:57get all of these things to work together
6:59they it was really annoying cuz they
7:01were completely different things like
7:03they had to log into this system to
7:04watch the course they had to log into
7:06Facebook to to basically hang out with
7:09the other students and Facebook has
7:11become more and more distracting and and
7:13weird and trying to get people to co
7:17coordinated on these live Q&A calls when
7:20people are all over the world on
7:21different time zones that was a problem
7:23too so I thought you know I'm
7:26experiencing this problem and it kind of
7:27sucks and I can see the solution in my
7:29head so screw it I'm just going to build
7:31a company and and solve my own problem
7:34and I decided to call it school SK
7:37o.com and over the past kind of two and
7:39a half years I established an office
7:41here in LA and we've hired about eight
7:43people on our team right now this is a
7:45picture of our office and this is our
7:48little outdoor area that I call the
7:50cactus garden I even bought a school bus
7:53and basically what school is is it's
7:57your course your community and your
7:59calendar with your live Q&A calls in one
8:03tool so school is where people learn
8:05together online and I'll show you what
8:08it looks
8:09like so this here is my Mastermind so we
8:14use School ourselves consulting.com
8:16users school and one of my products is
8:18called Quantum our Mastermind right and
8:21so here uh basically to understand
8:24school there's Community classroom and
8:27calendar and leaderboards so Community
8:29is just po posts and comments basically
8:32like a Facebook group you can post like
8:34this you can add polls and you can
8:38attach files and links you can post in
8:40different categories so you can organize
8:42the
8:43discussion and that's how you post this
8:46is a post here where I'm basically
8:49saying RSVP are you coming to the March
8:51iners event in LA and everyone's you
8:53know commenting yes you can like posts
8:57you can like comments you can reply to
8:59stuff you can you can watch a post and
9:01you'll be notified when there's more
9:03comments and so that's basically the
9:06community then there's the classroom
9:10which is where you can host your courses
9:13so here I record all of our Mastermind
9:16events and then I I put put them in here
9:19as as separate courses so basically in
9:23our Mastermind you've got the
9:25community and then all of the C all of
9:28the uh event recordings and then on our
9:31calendar you can see our our live Q&A
9:35calls and when they're happening in your
9:37own time zone and when our live events
9:41are happening too like this
9:44one and then you can add them to your
9:47calendar right so we can keep everyone
9:50in our Mastermind on the same page cuz
9:52they can see when the calls and events
9:54are happening in their local time zone
9:57then we can run the events and the calls
10:00record them and then add the actual
10:02recordings of the events to uh to our
10:06group as well and then we can have our
10:08community discussion all here in one
10:12place right with one search like if I
10:15type YouTube ads it'll show me all the
10:17posts and comments that have YouTube ads
10:19in them it'll show me all of the actual
10:22classroom content that has YouTube ads
10:24in it and it will even show you the
10:26members that do stuff to do with YouTube
10:29YouTube ads so it basically takes these
10:33three major pieces that I told you about
10:34your course your content portal your
10:38community and your live Q&A call
10:40schedule or event schedule and it puts
10:42them into one simple tool that your
10:44students can access with One login and
10:48one unified search and then what we do
10:51to make it more engaging and fun is we
10:54we've gamified it and so whenever
10:57someone gets a whenever you like
10:59someone's post they they get a point
11:03right and as they get more points they
11:05go up levels like I can see this guy
11:07here Chester is on level five and he's
11:10got 167 points left to go to get to
11:12level six so as as people engage more
11:16they get more points than they up level
11:19right and you can also see how much
11:21progress they've made in your
11:24courses you can also there's
11:27leaderboards so as people people uh you
11:30know whoever gets the most points in the
11:33past like 30 Days 7 days or all time
11:35they'll show up on the leaderboards and
11:37then we actually give prizes to people
11:40that show up on the leaderboards each
11:42month to keep you know the community
11:44incentivized going in the right
11:45direction and keep them really engaged
11:49now this is basically a school group and
11:52you can create your own group or switch
11:55groups by just clicking this little down
11:56arrow so I also have another one of my
11:58courses on here called up L and here I
12:02can just switch between these worlds by
12:04just clicking like that I'm in Quantum
12:06now and now I'm in
12:09uplevel right and you can make your own
12:11group by clicking this and then clicking
12:13create a group and it's free to be a
12:16user on school like if someone makes
12:18their own if someone makes a group on
12:20school and they invite you to it it's
12:22free for you but if you want to host
12:24your own group on school it's $99 a
12:27month and you can have a 14-day free
12:30trial that you can cancel anytime with a
12:32single click and if you want to create
12:34your own group you just you just do that
12:36and you've got your own group so you
12:37have all of your different kind of
12:40courses and communities on one platform
12:42with One login and one search that's
12:46basically school and of course it has
12:48all of the other things like chats right
12:51you can chat with people DMS you've got
12:53all of your
12:54notifications and we've got very rich
12:57user profiles like this where you know
13:00we show whether you're online now or not
13:03a bio location mbgs type course progress
13:08and how much how active you know the
13:12members been each day over the past year
13:15and all of their posts and comments so
13:17basically everything that like a
13:18Facebook group has and everything that a
13:21Content portal or LMS has all in one
13:25place with one login and it's gamified
13:28and with the shared group calendar too
13:31so that's that's basically school and if

13:56now let's talk about what what happened
13:59about I don't know 2 years ago when Co
14:02first hit and everyone was kind of
14:03freaking out I I freaked out a little
14:06bit too and you know cuz everyone was
14:08locked down and no one really knew what
14:10was going on so I decided to buy this
14:14house in this forest with my wife Ashley
14:17and we got this tiny little house out in
14:20this forest and we decided to go live
14:22there for a while while the world kind
14:23of chilled out and got back to normal
14:26and we lived here for about a year
14:29in this Forest just in the complete
14:32Wilderness and I grew my hair out you
14:35can see how long it got there and I'll
14:37tell you the story about that baby in a
14:39minute and this was where I was working
14:42I just wanted to tune out all that
14:43negativity that was kind of out there
14:45you know cuz people were going kind of
14:47crazy I just wanted to just forget about
14:49that so I could focus on my work and so
14:51we moved into this place in this forest
14:54and I just kept building school and kept
14:56focusing on my companies and tried to
14:59just tune it out right and it worked
15:01quite well I made a lot of progress
15:03while I was there and I also got some
15:05toys I got this Jeep and I got this
15:08electric dirt bike called a sirron s r n
15:12and they're pretty damn fun you know
15:14this Jeep can go can do crazy things
15:17Offroad and this dirt bike is almost as
15:19fast as a a gas two-stroke dirt bike and
15:23we took this Jeep all over the place we
15:26slept in the back and we just drove to
15:28different beaches and mountains and
15:29things we just went adventuring and we
15:32went into the Wilderness and here's some
15:34photos of these different places that we
15:36visited this is this Canyon that I took
15:39my dirt bike on you can see that my dirt
15:42bike over there I just was jumping this
15:45thing through sand Junes and just
15:47basically went into the Wilderness and I
15:50took this Jeep off-road it could do some
15:52crazy and just explored nature for
15:56about a year and while we were doing all
15:58this exploring uh my wife asle got
16:01pregnant and then boom a few months
16:03later out popped this little baby called
16:05OA so I've now I'm a dad and I've got a
16:09daughter and this is a photo of her and
16:12this is us hanging
16:14out and this is my wife and I Ashley
16:17with our new little baby she's 6 months
16:20old now now let's talk about YouTube
16:22this channel what's going to happen with
16:24it so here's my plan for this channel
16:27moving forward
16:29because I don't want to do it the way I
16:30used to do it because I got kind of burn
16:32out so this channel I'm just going to
16:35use this channel to document the story
16:37of growing consulting.com in school now
16:41on the consulting.com side I'm just
16:43going to show you what it's like to be
16:45in the info and cor space these days
16:48like how we're getting clients how we're
16:50running our team how we're running our
16:52Mastermind and our other high ticket
16:54program how the numbers work and all of
16:58that basically so if you're interested
16:59in in the course world and the info
17:02world then I'm just going to share
17:04what's going on there and on the school
17:07side I'm just going to share what it's
17:09like to have a SAS which is software as
17:12a service platform um and how what it's
17:15like growing one of those because I'm
17:16basically trying to do both of these at
17:18the same time I'm running a course
17:20business that teaches other people how
17:23to run a course business while also
17:24building the platform for running a
17:26course business um I don't know why I
17:29just I just love the space I really love
17:32courses and and it's it's just my world
17:37and so I want to get involved in
17:38everything I can in the space and I'm
17:40going to share what it's like plus I'm
17:43also going to share some stuff that's
17:45happening in my personal life like being
17:46a dad and trying to you know run a
17:48family as well as all of this other
17:50stuff and there's going to be less
17:51Concepts and lecturing and more sharing
17:54what I'm
17:55doing and YouTube will basically be like
17:57my diary and you get to come along for
18:00the
18:01ride so that's basically what I did for
