0:00there are people in this world looking

0:01to take advantage of others whether they

0:03are classified as a narcissistic

0:04sociopathic compulsive or pathological

0:07liars they operate differently from most

0:09people that you will encounter which

0:10makes them even more dangerous because

0:12they don't stand out in an obvious way

0:14so in this video you're going to learn

0:16how to detect it some of those types and

0:18we will be taking Elizabeth Holmes as

0:20our primary example she was able to

0:22raise nearly 1 billion dollars for her

0:24company theranos which promised to run

0:26full blood scans off just a few drops of

0:28blood from your finger this of course

0:30would have been a revolution in the

0:32medical industry if it were real behind

0:35the scenes Elizabeth and her boyfriend

0:36Sonny were hiding the fact that these

0:38tests did not and never worked they de

0:41frauded investors and over a million

0:43people who got those Thera nose tests

0:45expecting accurate readings which of

0:47course was impossible now unfortunately

0:49Elizabeth Holmes is not totally unique

0:51the NIH reports that 6.2 percent of the

0:54u.s. has narcissistic personality

0:56disorder and dr. Paul Ekman says that no

0:59more than five percent of people are

1:00pathological liars that's still

1:02potentially 1 in 20 people that's why in

1:05this video we're going to explore how

1:06you can detect these dangerous

1:08personalities before they take advantage

1:10since you're probably going to encounter

1:11some of them in your life and I'm not

1:14trying to label them exactly but they

1:15often exhibit behaviors that are

1:17consistent with narcissistic personality

1:19disorder so first off a large motivator

1:22for these types of personalities is

1:24having the world's view them in a way

1:26that strokes their ego they are hyper

1:28driven to maintain the persona that they

1:30have constructed so keep an eye out for

1:32people with an intense focus on their

1:34image for example Elizabeth Holmes

1:36wanted to be the female Steve Jobs

1:38so she wore black turtlenecks copied his

1:41live demo slow reveal of the product and

1:43hired a bunch of ex Apple employees at

1:46the beginning of her company now of

1:47course lots of people have idols that

1:49they emulate but a major tip-off that

1:51you're dealing with a dangerous

1:52personality is that in an attempt to

1:54maintain their persona they will lie

1:57about seemingly ridiculous things maybe

2:00they tell fantastic stories about their

2:01own life that never happened like the

2:03fire festival co-founder who insisted

2:05that he had purchased an island owned by

2:07Pablo Escobar when in fact they were

2:09actually kicked off of that island by

2:11the real owner for even mentioning Pablo

2:13apart name in the promotional materials

2:15now in Elizabeth's case one ridiculous

2:18lie she told all the time was about her

2:20voice listen to the baritone that she

2:23affected nearly all the time this is

2:25what happens when you work to change

2:27things and first they think you're crazy

2:29then they fight you and then all of a

2:32sudden you change the world and that

2:34clip is from the beginning of the

2:36interview she is collected and prepared

2:38but as employees later reported that

2:40baritone would sometimes slip at the end

2:42of a long day leaving her speaking in a

2:44fairly typical sounding voice for a

2:46young woman and you can see the same

2:48thing occur briefly in that same

2:50interview once the questions get tougher

2:52then they fight you and then all of a

2:53sudden you change the world

2:55San Francisco paper and fortune I talked

2:57about it in an interview I did with

2:59Forbes that we made a decision to expand

3:02our test menu since there's no real

3:04victim this type of lie to promote a

3:06particular image might seem quirky and

3:09forgivable but be very wary of these

3:11four they can be signs of a deeper need

3:13to control how people see them and which

3:16is a textbook narcissistic trait and

3:18these people are often very disconnected

3:20from the feelings of guilt or shame that

3:22would discourage other people from this

3:24fraudulent and damaging behavior these

3:26types also tend to have a very different

3:28relationship with lying in general most

3:31people have limits on how flagrantly

3:33we're willing to lie we prefer instead

3:35to bend the truth and the more egregious

3:37our lives become the more visibly

3:39uncomfortable we are not so much with

3:42the narcissistic type they can tell

3:44boldface flagrantly fossilised without

3:47skipping a beat listen for instance how

3:49Thera knows demoed some of their fake

3:51tests they would stage these demos they

3:54would prick the visiting VIPs finger

3:56they would put the blood in the

3:57cartridge slot slot the cartridge into

4:00the mini lab you know it's start

4:01worrying and then they would say it's

4:03gonna take a little while why don't you

4:05come and either visit the lab or and so

4:07the VIP would leave the room

4:09then a thoroughness employee would stop

4:12the machine take the blood out and bring

4:15it to the lab and and that little blood

4:17sample would either get tested at the

4:18back by one of their laboratory

4:20technicians or on one of the Siemens

4:23machines these demos happened repeatedly

4:25with extremely smart people including an

4:28ex Secretary of State and Silicon Valley

4:30investors whose job is to be skeptical

4:33but not one of them ever caught

4:35Elizabeth

4:36very likely because she doesn't exhibit

4:38the same nervousness

4:39around lying that most other people

4:41would so do not assume that a calm

4:43demeanor means that someone is telling

4:45you the truth especially if they are

4:46this narcissistic type if this person is

4:49for instance or even deeper on that

4:50spectrum into psychopathy studies that

4:53involve fMRI scans show that they might

4:56not even spend any extra time processing

4:58alive because their brains don't need to

5:00seem to suppress the truth to even focus

5:02attention or control body language all

5:05of that occurs naturally to them it's

5:07like they're inventing a world in their

5:09head with no effort and this is how many

5:12people get fooled by compulsive and

5:13pathological liars they assume that

5:16lying must stress other people out

5:18because it stresses them out and it

5:20makes no sense that anyone could lie so

5:21comfortably so they assume that

5:23comfortable demeanor means the liar is

5:25telling the truth a much better

5:28heuristic for you to detect pathological

5:30lies is the 10,000 foot view and this

5:33means rather than watching one

5:35individual's body language or even

5:37listening to their explanations of which

5:39there will be many you summarized their

5:41claims at a very high level and then you

5:43let your intuition tell you if that just

5:45makes sense in the case of Elizabeth

5:47Holmes this is exactly how the reporter

5:50who cracked her case was first inspired

5:52to dig into her story and that story

5:54that something that struck me as odd

5:55which was this notion that a 19 year old

5:58college dropout with just two semesters

6:01of Chemical Engineering under her belt

6:03had dropped out of college and pioneered

6:05groundbreaking new science you know that

6:07that's something that's possible in the

6:09realm of computers and computer software

6:10obviously with Mark Zuckerberg Bill

6:12Gates have done that but in medical

6:15science you need the formal training and

6:17you need

6:18to do years and decades of research to

6:19add value this is an important point

6:22it seems that psychopaths sociopaths

6:24whatever you call them and I'm not

6:25saying that Elizabeth Holmes falls into

6:26this particular category but whatever

6:28this compulsive lying category is these

6:30people have an easier time tricking our

6:33brains than they do our gut reactions

6:36and it's partially because they have an

6:38explanation for everything here's one

6:40example my grandfather would go get a

6:43fair nose test done and he would have a

6:45needle in his arm you know it's like

6:49well I thought this was a single drop of

6:51blood and there'd be some you know

6:52excuse about why they needed to take a

6:54venous draw for him but you know for

6:56everybody else it's a finger prick and

6:58you continue to buy into that

6:59another thing you tend to notice about

7:01this type is that they often don't give

7:04up on the lie when most of us get caught

7:06red-handed we slump our shoulders in

7:08defeat all that is left to do is feel

7:11shame say we're sorry and hopefully be

7:13forgiven but this type of person who

7:15lies compulsively will continue even

7:17when the cat is out of the bag Billy

7:20McFarlane of fire festival and for me

7:22for instance ran a second scam while he

7:25was out on bail he offered his email

7:27list for the fire festival tickets to

7:29the Grammys to meet & Greets with

7:31celebrities like LeBron James of course

7:33which he had no access to if they would

7:35just send him some money now listen to

7:38what Elizabeth Holmes told investors

7:39just a month before Theron oh shut its

7:42doors after she had been barred from

7:44holding a position as an officer of a

7:47public company by the SEC in a letter to

7:50shareholders that day she basically

7:53explained that the company would likely

7:55be liquidated by the end of July Wow

7:59but the the interesting thing is that

8:01she is telling people that she is going

8:03to start a new company oh my god that is

8:06so deranged that's right even after

8:08being convicted of securities fraud and

8:11with criminal charges pending

8:12Elizabeth's maintained the idea that she

8:14would be running a company soon and

8:17again this just goes to illustrate that

8:18this type has a very different

8:20relationship with the truth image takes

8:24precedence over external reality and it

8:26seems to happen effortlessly finally in

8:29the event that you do raise your issues

8:31with this

8:31of person they're very likely to dismiss

8:34you and throw you off in one of two ways

8:36typically they will label you a hater

8:38and cut you out as Elizabeth Holmes and

8:41her boyfriend did when subordinates

8:42raised issues he received this email

8:44from sunny bhiwani that reckless comment

8:47based on absolute ignorance is so

8:50insulting to me but had any other person

8:52made these statements we would have held

8:54them accountable in the strongest way

8:55the only reason I have taken so much

8:58time away from work to address this

9:00personally is because you are mr.

9:02Schultz's grandson the only email on

9:04this topic I want to see from you going

9:06forward is an apology or if you're more

9:09powerful they'll Aswany concerns by

9:11appealing to some kind of conspiracy

9:13against them homes for instance said

9:15that no one could see the technology at

9:17their nose for this reason the only way

9:20that we were gonna get responses to our

9:22questions was if we signed NDA's because

9:25the Thera knows proprietary technology

9:29these trade secrets were so valuable

9:31that quest and LabCorp the two dominant

9:35players in the lab industry we're trying

9:37to find out answers to these questions

9:40by any means possible so when you start

9:43hearing with us or against us ultimatum

9:45or hearing about how secrecy is

9:47necessary for reasons that might make

9:49for a good plot in a John Grisham novel

9:51be on red alert in my experience it is

9:54more often the case that someone is

9:56trying to con you if you want to learn

9:59to be more charismatic and captivating

10:00without being a conman narcissist you

10:03might want to check out our online

10:04course charisma University it is a 30

10:07day program that gives you exactly what

10:09you need everyday in about 15 to 20

10:11minutes to maximize your confidence and

10:19the link below but I figure the

10:21strongest way to let you know what it's

10:22about is to just let the members speak

10:24for themselves so here are just a few of

10:26the things that Cu members have written

10:28in the first one comes from a guy who

10:30got promoted to a senior position early

10:32in his career he says I don't even have

10:34a Bachelor diploma yet they want me to

10:36fill this position and when I asked why

10:38this was the answer you have great

10:40social skills which is rare for an

10:42engineer you think quick on your feet

10:43and you are open and self-assured in

10:46or demeanor thank you so much for all

10:47that you have taught me you've truly

10:49changed my life because without Cu I

10:51wouldn't have qualified for that

10:53position in a million lifetimes now this

10:55one comes from another person who just

10:57started a new job says I want to let you

11:00know that I nailed those first days at

11:02work everything that I needed was right

11:04there at the right moment the confidence

11:06the energy the smile the positive

11:08mindset and with all your tips from last

11:10Tuesday in mind it could just not go

11:11wrong and he finishes by saying I just

11:13want to emphasize that what I did the

11:16previous day's would even not I would

11:18even not have come to mind if I had not

11:20discovered that charisma is a skill that

11:23can be learned

11:24thanks to your YouTube channel and

11:25university program and this last one is

11:27a comment in the course itself from

11:29someone who used it mainly to improve

11:31their social and dating life

11:33they say life changing in six weeks I

11:35went from being socially awkward with

11:37few friends to the life of every event I

11:39attend I also went from having serious

11:41girl problems to dating the girl of my

11:43dreams

11:43charisma university transformed me from

11:45a lonely introvert hoping to better

11:47connect with people to an energy filled

11:49extrovert who makes new friends

11:50everywhere I go I am so happy I joined

11:53and of course these are for you SIF 100%

11:55real did not ask for these people to

11:57write these things but this is what some

11:59of the things have been said you can see

12:01more in the comments if you decide to

12:02join the course if you do that it comes

12:04with a 60 day money back guarantee which

12:06is 100% for any reason at all and we

12:09have that just to make sure that every

12:10single member truly feels like they're

12:12getting a ton of value from the course

12:13otherwise you don't have to stay so if

12:16you want to check the course out go

12:17ahead click the link on screen now or

12:19below in the description if you'd like
