0:00every one sim opens here and in today's

0:02video I'm gonna explain why you can't do

0:05the work and why you can't do the things

0:09that you really want to do like you

0:11might sit down at your computer at your

0:13desk and you're like alright today I'm

0:15gonna get this thing done and then you

0:18start doing it and then very quickly

0:22it's like your arm is just getting

0:23pulled away to click on that next tab

0:26and open up social media Netflix YouTube

0:30or anything that isn't the thing that

0:33you want to do and it's like the thing

0:36that you're getting pulled towards is

0:37just so powerful that you have no chance

0:40and this just keeps happening you say

0:43you'll do it tomorrow but then tomorrow

0:45becomes today and then you put it off

0:46for tomorrow and then tomorrow becomes

0:48today and it keeps going like this in

0:50each day it gets worse so why can't you

0:55do the work or why you can't do the work

0:57so last week I created a video on

1:02YouTube and it was called what I've been

1:04doing recently and I'll include a link

1:07to beneath this video to it if you

1:08haven't seen it but towards the end of

1:10the video I got you guys and girls the

1:14the viewers to tell me some of the

1:17problems that you're facing on a day to

1:19day basis in the comments section so

1:21that I could shape and mold my future

1:25content like this video to help solve

1:28those problems right and what I did is I

1:32read through the comments and they're

1:35very interesting and what I did is I

1:37took some screenshots of really the

1:40common sentiment or the most common

1:45feelings or frustrations or problems

1:48that people have in the comment section

1:51and I'll walk you through some of them

1:52it's really quite interesting so the

1:54first one by Gilliam aro fleets sorry

1:58firstly they're wrong but here's his and

2:00you can pause the video if you want to

2:01read it but it says biggest problem is

2:04procrastination and just having a hard

2:07time actually wanting to do the work

2:09please make a video on this

2:13and it got a lot of likes and comments

2:15and I think this guy killer Merritt

2:19Guillermo he speaks for a lot of people

2:21when he sees this right procrastinating

2:23hard time doing the work right what else

2:26we got

2:27here's Zack Weiss Wiese and he says one

2:32lack of ideas to lack of direction three

2:35how to manage depression and low moods

2:38actionable methods and how to stay

2:41consistent over a long period of time

2:43kind of similar what else we got in here

2:47then David broad lack of discipline not

2:55working as much as I should and one more

3:01from it Jacob vendo and he says

3:08inconsistency and only having bursts of

3:10energy to do things but after that

3:13laziness settles in in the cycle repeats

3:15right now all of these are basically

3:19saying the same thing I can't do the

3:23work or I have great difficulty doing

3:26the work or even when I do do the work I

3:30will stop doing the work before long and

3:34struggle to do the work again right and

3:38this is honestly like a really common

3:41problem like everyone in the world first

3:44of all has this right until they figure

3:47it out and it's actually quite

3:50interesting and like no one really talks

3:53about it they mostly you know with

3:55business advice that's mostly about

3:56tactics and strategies or how to

3:59implement this method to get customers

4:01or how to use this technology or

4:03whatever but no one really talks about

4:06the reason why someone wouldn't want to

4:09do the work or why they would rather do

4:12something else instead which is quite

4:14interesting and so a lot of the time

4:17people ask me they're like Sam how are

4:19you so disciplined and how do you work

4:21for like 12 hours a day six days a week

4:24for like years

4:25on end how do you stay focused and how

4:28do you motivate yourself and how do you

4:30stay so disciplined and how do you do

4:32all of these things and they paint this

4:35picture is if I'm like some superhero or

4:38something right and it might appear that

4:41way because I can do this do the work

4:43like consistently over a long period of

4:45time but if I'm being completely honest

4:48with you it's because I love doing it

4:51right and the thing is is when you love

4:55doing something it's hot your problem is

4:58stopping and doing it believe me I have

5:01this problem I have the inverse problem

5:03that what you guys are saying in these

5:04comments like you guys are like you know

5:07what was the first one procrastination

5:10and just having a hard time actually

5:11wanting to do the work I have a hard

5:14time wanting to not do the work my wife

5:18has a hard time getting me away from the

5:21work and getting me to take a vacation

5:23or getting me to go outside or getting

5:25me to do anything that isn't the work

5:27right so I have the opposite problem

5:30and so when you love the thing that

5:33you're doing you wouldn't rather you

5:35would rather do that than anything else

5:37so you don't have a problem with like

5:40focus and discipline and all of this

5:42other stuff like because you love doing

5:44it it's what you do when it's what you

5:47would do if you even if you didn't get

5:50paid for it honestly you're obsessed

5:52about it and it's like you're always

5:54getting pulled towards this thing you

5:56can't not do it or you when you go to do

5:59something that isn't it you do it with

6:01great difficulty right

6:02so really the secret to this is

6:08discipline and motivation and focus and

6:12all other stuff it doesn't really work

6:15like it works in small doses like you

6:17need to have some focus and some

6:19discipline and some productivity and and

6:22time management you need to have these

6:24things right but you can't rely on these

6:26things day-in day-out all the time

6:28because you you need to love what you do

6:32to be able to do it consistently and to

6:34really succeed and do well at it

6:37so the secret

6:39really is well and what's interesting is

6:46in Michael one of Michael Jordan's

6:49documentaries which I highly recommend

6:51watching it's called Michael Jordan to

6:55the max I'm pretty sure that's what it's

6:56called or a similar title that has to

6:58the max in it but go check it out it's

7:01an awesome documentary on one of the

7:02greatest sports people of all time and

7:04in the in the documentary right at the

7:08beginning Michael Jordan is asked like

7:10what's the secret to being the best

7:12basketball player in the world and I'm

7:14like all man this is going to be

7:15interesting and he says the secret is to

7:18fall in love with the game right and he

7:22says that he all the time

7:25parents of parents of children who want

7:29who they want the parents want the

7:31children to be like pro basketball

7:32players they're always asking Michael

7:34Jordan for tactical advice and strategic

7:37advice or what how many times should he

7:39train what days should he train how many

7:40hours a week should he train what about

7:42stretching what about this what coach

7:44like you know all of this different

7:46stuff very tactical very strategic but

7:49Michael Jordan would always say to them

7:52like look stop trying to like structure

7:56and control like what your child is

8:00doing like the secret to him or her

8:02being the best basketball player in the

8:04world is for them to fall in love with

8:06the game they have to develop a

8:07relationship with it where they love it

8:09and if they do that then everything else

8:12will just happen right like no problem

8:15exists when you love something because

8:17you'll just figure it out and so that's

8:20what he recommends to them and one of

8:22the secrets to really like falling in

8:24love with the thing is not to put too

8:26many rules in structure and discipline

8:30around the thing right because that's

8:33not what like love is like and that's

8:37really the key to it so it's all very

8:41well me saying all the secret is to you

8:43know to fall in love with what you're

8:45doing well how do you do that or how do

8:48you find out what you actually love

8:50right because I can tell you

8:53that everyone that really enjoys

8:55something and there's a secret way to

8:59really finding out what this thing is

9:01and what you want to do is you want to

9:05look at your behavior and your patterns

9:09and things like this this is a really

9:11great way to find out what you're

9:13obsessed about and interested in and

9:15curious about and what you can do is

9:17just go to your youtube search history

9:20or your YouTube watch history right go

9:24there and I'll write these things down

9:26like one YouTube history to look at your

9:35search history or search / browser

9:44history what sites have you been looking

9:47at right look at your bookmarks that you

9:50have on your browser right the fourth

9:57one would be to think about your

10:00favorite movie like the your favorite

10:03movie of all time so that's right

10:05favorite movie now what's interesting

10:10about your favorite movie is you and

10:14make sure that you pause this video now

10:16if you haven't already seen what your

10:17favorite movie is because I'm about to

10:19ruin it because you can't go back after

10:22I tell you this thing I'm about to say

10:24it all taint your ability to choose your

10:27favorite movie so warning pause it now

10:28alright so with your favorite movie

10:32people human beings choose their

10:34favorite movie because they see

10:36themselves as the main character right

10:40that is the reason why people have

10:42favorite movies ask anyone what their

10:44favorite movie is and then look at the

10:46main character of that movie and look at

10:48the character traits of that character

10:50in that movie and it will tell you more

10:53about somebody then they could probably

10:56tell you themselves right and then

10:58you'll start to draw all of these

11:00patterns about over this whole person's

11:02life about everything they've done that

11:04is kind of in relation to

11:05this movie right it's a very powerful

11:07way to understand yourself or understand

11:09somebody else now you want to look at

11:12and now put in brackets here like main

11:15character then the fifth one is books

11:22you read now everybody has books right

11:31but not all books are equal like some

11:35people have books and some of them

11:36they've never read some of them they've

11:38picked up and read a little bit of them

11:40and never picked up again in some books

11:42people have tried to read again and

11:44again and again and they can never

11:45actually read the whole thing right but

11:49then there is some books that people

11:51have read cover to cover like full front

11:55to back those are the books that I'm

11:58talking about

11:59you want to make a list of those books

12:01and if you've ever read a book more than

12:03once that goes at the top of the list

12:04write books you read now what else you

12:09can do is if you have a boyfriend or a

12:12girlfriend or even best friend's parents

12:16right people that spend a lot of time

12:18with you maybe even co-workers just

12:20someone who is in close proximity to you

12:22a lot right you want to ask them what do

12:27I not shut up about that's the question

12:33so I'm gonna write just be if /g if what

12:42do I talk about all right and then

12:49number seven would be bank statements

12:57right

12:59now bank statements you want to look at

13:01these and then you want to look at where

13:04your money goes right so here we're

13:07looking at like where our tension goes

13:09so our YouTube history is what like what

13:12videos are we watching and what sorts of

13:14things are we searching for right this

13:16is where our attention is going and then

13:20browser history is attention bookmarks

13:22is attention and what things we think

13:24are important and then favorite movie is

13:28like what character do we see ourselves

13:31as or similar to right this can teach us

13:35a lot about ourselves books you read

13:37attention what do I talk about that's

13:40obviously what you are interested in and

13:44have going through your mind all the

13:46time but then bank statements shows

13:48where your money flows right and at Inc

13:52money is kind of like a tension right

13:54it's a resource and we don't just put it

13:57into things that are meaningless to us

14:00typically we spend money like we spend

14:03attention on things that we love or are

14:07interested in right and so look at where

14:10the money flows what sorts of things is

14:12your money being spent on now once

14:16you've done all of this you want to take

14:20some time to honestly do this it'll be

14:21very light it'll teach you a lot about

14:24yourself and that's really the purpose

14:27of this exercise is to know yourself

14:40because until you know yourself and I'll

14:44just draw a picture of you

14:49sorry if this looks like a man for girls

14:53that are watching I just don't know how

14:55to draw a stick figure any better than

14:57that so just imagine that's a unisex

14:59stick figure but you want to know

15:02yourself and to do that you need to go

15:07and look at these sorts of things

15:08because we're your time attention energy

15:11and your mind goes and your money goes

15:15like these are things that you love and

15:20why it all kind of revolves around what

15:23you love is because of the way that our

15:25brain is structured like the brains

15:28architecture right and in the brain you

15:31these different systems like in the

15:34brain right like at the core of it you

15:38have like your your limbic system right

15:41and your limbic system is like the

15:43primal kind of brain that you have and

15:46the limbic system really creates emotion

15:51and it's also will create survival

15:54instincts and these core kind of human

15:59primal desires and drivers that we have

16:02as humans and the limbic system is like

16:06it the logic rational kind of conscious

16:09mind that we have it is booted on top of

16:13the limbic system right so if you took

16:15out the limbic system like the the

16:18conscious system it wouldn't operate

16:21properly a human being wouldn't operate

16:22properly and if you took out the limbic

16:25system you wouldn't have any emotion so

16:27not only would you not like dislike

16:31anything but you wouldn't like anything

16:33either because the same kind of system

16:35that makes you really love something is

16:37the same system that makes you really

16:39hate something right and the same thing

16:41that makes you motivated is the same

16:43thing that makes you demotivated it just

16:45has attachments to different things and

16:47the key to this is is to find out what

16:50you love or more scientifically what

16:53things your limbic system has developed

16:57an attachment to right because because

17:00our conscious mind sits it's like booted

17:03on

17:03of the limbic system then no matter how

17:06much logic or reason or planning or any

17:10type of human conscious effort that we

17:13put in no matter how hard we try our

17:16limbic systems just going to dominate

17:17right because it's it's our conscious

17:20it's on top of that so you're really

17:23screwed if your limbic system tells you

17:26to do one thing and your conscious

17:29logical rational mind tells you to do

17:31the other thing that is why you can't do

17:33the work that is why when you sit down

17:35at your computer and try to do the work

17:38there is just this massive pool it's

17:41like there's this massive gravitational

17:44force just pulling you away your arm is

17:47just like moving and then clicks on a

17:49new tab BAM you're out and it's because

17:53of this love and how do you find out

17:56what you love this and why do you do

18:01this so that you can know yourself why

18:04do we want to know ourselves well it's

18:07really this is where it all begins you

18:09know a business is kind of like or

18:12anything in life and not even business

18:14it's kind of like growing a plant right

18:16and to grow a plant you need first of

18:19all a seed let's call this a seed

18:25without a seed plant can't grow and the

18:29seed of your business and whatever it is

18:32that you're going to do in life is

18:34really your passion or your the thing

18:37that you were in love with Michael

18:38Jordan loved basketball everything about

18:40it that is why he was the best in the

18:42world

18:43and people that love what they do do

18:46extremely well with it not because

18:48they're superhuman like disciplined or

18:50anything like that they just love doing

18:52it and so that I think is something that

18:56a lot of people get wrong about me when

18:59they think like why do I work so hard

19:01like don't I already have enough money

19:03or something or when is enough enough

19:05like I hear these sorts of things people

19:07say and it's it's not about that I just

19:12love building stuff like if you want the

19:14honest answer why do I do what I

19:16oh well I love building things and when

19:22I was a kid I used to build like

19:24computers and here's actually a photo of

19:28me when I was a kid with a computer that

19:34I built now you can see that I've got my

19:37arm around this computer as if it is a

19:40human right this is a sign that I love

19:43this right because people don't usually

19:47hike up machines but I am in this photo

19:50and I've always had a relationship like

19:53this to my work into what I do but

19:55you'll notice that a lot of the the

19:58videos or photos that I have it's

20:00generally me at a desk with a damn

20:02computer on it right like I have the

20:05desk

20:06I am always proud of my desk I love my

20:08desk I love sitting there and working

20:11there that's my space and I always love

20:14my machine my computer right and I have

20:18different disks over the years they're

20:20generally in different locations and

20:22different computers but these things are

20:24all constant I've always loved building

20:26things and I love using computers in the

20:28internet and learning things right and

20:31so this is it took me a long time to

20:34really figure out this pattern from

20:37doing these things but once you find

20:40that thing it changes everything

20:42like that is when you'll make the

20:45massive exponential jumps in life and in

20:48business is really when you find that

20:51thing you know there's there's to like

20:55most important moments of your life one

20:57when you're born and two when you find

21:00your purpose or your thing right which

21:03is what you love and once you do that

21:05life gets a whole lot better and the

21:09reason why you're doing it isn't to make

21:11money it isn't to do any of those things

21:12it's because you love doing it and

21:15you're having a ton of fun while you're

21:17doing it like I honestly would prefer to

21:21play around with numbers and

21:24spreadsheets and algorithms and metrics

21:27and try different experiments and Bill

21:30different things I would much rather do

21:32that thing beyond then travel around the

21:34world any day of the week or go to a

21:37theme park or do anything or go to some

21:39concert go to Coachella I'd rather

21:42be sitting at my computer looking at

21:45some numbers honestly right that is why

21:48I have been able to do well at what I do

21:52because I love doing I love building

21:54things and then that really is the seed

21:59that grows into you know the plant or

22:03the tree whatever you want to call it

22:05right but if you don't have a good seed

22:08then the plant will never grow but it's

22:11not just about having a seed right you

22:14need to know the seed it is the most

22:16important thing because without it

22:18nothing can happen and I see a lot of

22:20people all the time they don't seek to

22:22understand themselves they don't try to

22:24understand what they love they mostly

22:26get into business or they want to start

22:29a business because they want a byproduct

22:32of the business like they want money and

22:35why do they want money so that they can

22:36buy something right and so that can make

22:41things complicated because it then

22:44you're not then you don't like what

22:46you're doing you just like the result

22:49right and that can get difficult because

22:53you're never gonna enjoy doing it which

22:55means you're not going to be able to do

22:56it very well which means you're not

22:57going to be able to get the result

22:58either right the secret to it really is

23:01to love the doing of it so much that the

23:05result just happens and the people who

23:07love what they do they get the biggest

23:10results out of anybody not because

23:12they're trying to get them but because

23:13they love doing the work because it's

23:15the work that creates the result so the

23:17people that love the work always get the

23:19best result the people that love the

23:22result they can never really get it

23:24because it requires work to get it right

23:27and so you need to understand yourself

23:30and this can take some time like you

23:34want to first of all make an active

23:35effort to do this and start writing it

23:38down start having like a Google Doc of

23:41you like you can title it

23:44Who am I question mark and then you can

23:46start to like build a file of this thing

23:49right these some other things that will

23:50help you with this one of them is the

23:53myers-briggs test I'll put a link to it

23:56beneath this video it is a free

23:59psychometric test that you can do and it

24:01will tell you like what your personality

24:03type is right and I can tell you that me

24:06I am and I in t J that likes building

24:15things an INTJ means I'm introverted

24:17intuitive thinking and judgment so I'm

24:21not very extroverted or outgoing I'm

24:24more introverted right and I am thinking

24:28or feeling and like planning and

24:32structure and things over like just

24:34going with the flow right so that is my

24:37personality type and I know what I love

24:39and so my business in life really

24:41revolves around this core thing and

24:44that's why I've been able to do it now

24:46there's some other things that you need

24:48if you already know what you love and

24:51you know who you are and all of this and

24:53you've got your seed then how do you

24:56actually turn this into a business this

24:58is a good question

24:58well once you know what you love let's

25:01say that you love golf

25:03right because sometimes you'll get an

25:05answer like this and I know this because

25:07I asked my friend

25:08I just keep he he's a lawyer and he

25:13doesn't really like what he's doing and

25:16I just kept asking him like what look at

25:19your YouTube history look at your

25:20browser's history where do you spend

25:21your money what do you do I was asking

25:23all these questions and it just came the

25:25the result that we got from this was

25:27golf right and that doesn't really tell

25:29you much about how do you start a

25:31business golf right he immediately

25:35thought well does that mean that I

25:37should be a professional golf player

25:39because it's probably too late in life

25:41to become like Tiger Woods or whatever

25:43now and I said no no no no no no don't

25:46read into it like that you have to golf

25:49is just this topic right just anything

25:52to do with golf you're going to be

25:53interested in right and I see you want

25:56to start

25:57just understanding the Gulf ecosystem

26:00because golf is really an ecosystem

26:03there's players there's tournaments

26:05there's fields or whatever the hell they

26:08call those things I'm pretty sure they

26:10call them golf fields they probably

26:12don't but then there is the the viewers

26:17in the audience right and then there's

26:19equipment and there's clubs in these

26:20balls and there's magazines and then

26:22there's probably YouTube channels and

26:24websites and there's all sorts of things

26:27that revolve around golf there is an

26:30ecosystem basically a collection of

26:32different objects that are interrelated

26:34with each other they come together to

26:36form this thing called golf right and

26:39you want to first of all just really

26:40understand the Gulf ecosystem and start

26:43mapping it like start drawing up the

26:46different things and how they relate to

26:47each other and what the flows are both

26:49ways and and really start to understand

26:52it and also look at like the history of

26:53it and how its evolved and we're these

26:55vectors are pointing into the future and

26:57you can really start to understand this

27:00golf thing as like a universe that's

27:03evolving over time and once you can do

27:05that now you're starting to think like

27:08the Gulf ecosystem right and when you

27:12can do that then you can start spotting

27:15its inefficiencies and you want to start

27:17thinking what are the problems that

27:18these different operators and

27:20participants have in this Gulf ecosystem

27:23thing like what are the audience want

27:25that they're not getting and there's

27:27always tons of things so don't tell me

27:29they fully satisfied no human is fully

27:31satisfied ever so what does this

27:34audience want that they're not getting

27:35right what are the players want that

27:37they're not getting what do the

27:38tournaments want that they're not

27:39getting and what do the goldfields want

27:43that they're not getting what are the

27:44golf newspapers or magazines want that

27:47they're not getting look at all of the

27:49different objects and players and things

27:52inside this ecosystem and what they're

27:55not getting that they want now that is

27:59now you're starting to identify problems

28:01within an ecosystem right and then once

28:04you can do that you are able to start

28:07thinking about solutions because

28:10probable and problem

28:11derive sorry solutions derive from

28:14problems you don't start with ideas you

28:16start with problems and you get problems

28:20by talking to people and looking at the

28:22ecosystem in spotting inefficiencies

28:24right but how do you know which

28:27ecosystem to look at what you love right

28:32so if you like horses there doesn't mean

28:36that you should be a horse or to train

28:39horses or to like be a horse rider it

28:43don't think so linear like you don't

28:46whatever the result is from this knowing

28:49yourself exercise think of it as an it's

28:53an ecosystem a universe of things right

28:56now anything within here you're going to

28:58be interested in so when you do research

29:01or when you talk to the people you're

29:03going to enjoy it because it's about

29:05gold for it's about horses or it's about

29:07whatever right now with me I like

29:11computers

29:12I like the Internet and I also like

29:14learning things right when I was a kid I

29:16used to read like Encarta on my computer

29:20and then when the internet came like I

29:23used to love going around and trying to

29:24find different websites and then when

29:26Google came that's really when my brain

29:28exploded and I was able to just learn

29:31whatever I wanted all the time and

29:34that's where it really began and then

29:37that turned into like me showing other

29:40people how to do this thing because I

29:42didn't and the reason why I knew how to

29:44do this thing was because I had an

29:45obsessive interest in it right and the

29:49reason I had that obsessive interest is

29:51because I loved doing it not because I

29:53sat down and was like all right I'm

29:55gonna spend you know five years of my

29:57life twelve hours a day six days a week

30:00learning and obsessing about something I

30:02really don't like doing that is

30:04impossible to do right even if you're at

30:07gunpoint you probably couldn't pull that

30:09one off

30:09so I think the answer to circling back

30:13around the answer to this question

30:23biggest problem is procrastination and

30:25just having a hard time actually wanting

30:27to do the work it's because you're

30:30probably trying to do something that you

30:32don't want to do you probably don't love

30:36it and the thing that's probably

30:37distracting you from the thing that

30:39you're trying to do is probably the

30:41thing that you love right and this is

30:44really where it all begins it's the seed

30:46and if you don't know yourself here's

30:49how you can start you always want to be

30:51observant of this you know knowing

30:53yourself isn't a query that you can ask

30:55yourself you consciously you can't go

30:58conscious tell me who I am and what I

31:01like and what I love

31:02mmm doesn't return anything because that

31:05library of information is in the limbic

31:08system and the conscious can't access

31:10the limbic system these two systems do

31:13not have a kanjou between them that

31:16passes information right so you're

31:19trying to query a library that is

31:20offline right so how do we query this

31:23library that's offline with like an

31:26airlock between it right you really need

31:29to look at your behavior because that is

31:31where behavior over time behavior

31:34patterns over time right that's the key

31:37to your limbic system in the key to

31:40finding out who you are and what you

31:41love because that your limbic system

31:44will control what you do absolutely but

31:48your conscious can't access it so it can

31:50only be done this way and once you find

31:53this honestly your whole world will

31:55change and nothing will ever be the same

31:57again and your life will be a whole lot

32:00better so that's it for this video

32:03hopefully this helps a lot of you and if

32:07you asked a question that all you stated

32:10a problem that wasn't this one well I'm

32:13gonna keep making more videos I looked

32:14at all of the different comments and

32:16problems people are facing and I can't

32:19solve them all and one or attempt to

32:21solve them all in one single video so

32:23don't worry like I will have heard you

32:25and I would have looked at your your

32:27problem and your suggestions and over

32:29the next few videos in maybe videos for

32:32the rest of the year we're going to be

32:33covering a lot of the

32:34topics that you guys and girls are

32:36facing so that's it for this video if

32:39you liked it click that like button and

32:41if you want more videos like this then

32:43subscribe click that subscribe button

32:46and then let me know what you thought of

32:47this in the comment section below tell

32:50me whether you liked it and tell me if

32:53you want more videos like this or if

32:55you've got other suggestions that you

32:56want put them in those comments because

32:58as you can see I read them sometimes I

33:01print them sometimes even hold them up

33:04in a video and then sometimes I make

33:07videos about them so they matter so

33:10thanks for watching see you in the next

33:12one soon
