0:06hi I'm Sam Evans and this is Nick Fisher
0:09and what we wanted to do with these next
0:12few videos is go to our audience you
0:15know the people that follow us on social
0:16media receive our emails and watch these
0:18videos we wanted to go to the audience
0:21and ask you know what what do you guys
0:23want to learn so we sent out some
0:25surveys and everything and we collected
0:28the responses and what we've done is we
0:30have found the most the most popular
0:32questions that people want answered and
0:34what we're going to do is you know we've
0:35got a list of them and Nick Fisher is
0:37going to go through them and we're going
0:39to answer those questions for you guys
0:42so that we can help you out so the first
0:44question we've got is you know a lot of
0:46people wanted to know what I would do if
0:48I was starting over from scratch
0:50like if I just lost all of my money all
0:53of my kin all of my connections all of
0:56my followers subscribers everything that
0:58we're talking a true blank slate like a
1:01fresh start what would I do
1:02and so in this video today we're gonna
1:05answer that so if you had to start from
1:08scratch let's say no money no
1:10connections no nothing and you only had
1:1230 days to make enough money to pay rent
1:15let's say rents $5,000 before you got
1:17evicted from your place what do you do
1:19starting today right now well for me I'd
1:24probably just default to what I used to
1:28do back when that was always the case
1:30like every 30 days and that was I I
1:36would just look for local businesses
1:38that had bad websites or who I thought
1:41were making mistakes with their websites
1:43and so to do that I'd just go into
1:45Google and I just search for different
1:47companies like plumbers electricians
1:50dentists you know your traditional
1:52source of businesses I just search in
1:54Google and find them and then I'd go to
1:56their websites and think is this website
1:59like really good or is it bad or do I do
2:03I really think that this business could
2:05benefit if they made some changes to the
2:07website and updated it so I was
2:09basically looking for people who I
2:10thought I could help
2:11and I just thought I'd go through Google
2:14nothing fancy I just build a a Google
2:17Doc or Excel file with all the companies
2:20and the links to their sites and their
2:22phone numbers and then what I'd do is
2:26once I'd pull together a list I would I
2:29would just shoot them an email and I'd
2:33say hey I took a look at your website
2:34and I think you're making some mistakes
2:37with it that is costing your business
2:38and I think if you fix these things you
2:40could you know you could really make
2:42more money and your business would
2:43benefit from it and then I just get us I
2:46just use screen recording software to
2:48record me just like talking while going
2:52through the website explaining the
2:53mistakes and I'd link that video in the
2:56email mmm it's a real simple email like
2:58five minutes screen recording video and
3:00I'd say if you want my help with fixing
3:02any of these things just let me know so
3:05real simple got it so that's the ask at
3:08the end everything else is just value
3:09then at that point well you just want to
3:12be a few things one is you want to just
3:14be different so you know I see a lot of
3:18people they think you know Facebook ads
3:21and things like this they're not things
3:22to use in emergency situations same with
3:24like social media and you know these
3:27aren't these are an emergency like
3:30emergency situation things they take a
3:33long time to build up and to grow into
3:35something so when you're in an emergency
3:38situation you need something that's
3:39going to just be like you know you aim
3:42for it and it's a direct hit so when you
3:44just find websites through Google that's
3:46instant it's free and then when you send
3:49them an email that's instant and it's
3:51free and you're not relying on building
3:54up an audience building up a community
3:56and an authority and all of these things
3:58it's just a direct hit and then you want
4:02to be different too you want to look a
4:04little bit different than all the other
4:05people that are out there shouting like
4:07hey I can help you with stuff so that's
4:09where the really the personal email
4:12comes in because personal emails are
4:14rear most emails people get are from you
4:17know automated blasts like it's very
4:19rare to get you know just a genuine
4:21person sending you a genuine email
4:23that isn't just a copy-paste I would
4:25agree and then if you put the video in
4:27there too which is actually you
4:29critiquing this site now you're really
4:32rare now this person probably hasn't
4:34received one of those emails at all ever
4:36so you're gonna stand out you're gonna
4:38get noticed
4:39you know that your message is gonna
4:40reach the person and if you're honest
4:44with it and you only really email people
4:46who you believe you can help someone
4:48should buy it on there so you know we're
4:50just removing all the variables and
4:52we're trying to make it as simple and as
4:54fast as possible because you know 30
4:57days is like emergency thirty days is an
4:59emergency so the first day would that
5:01just be all research then or would you
5:03start doing let's say how many do you
5:05lose you're not wasting one day on I
5:07research so what I would do is I'd think
5:11how many of these emails do I need to
5:14send out to get one of these jobs and
5:16you want to you know you want to be
5:20really prudent with with guesses because
5:22if you're in an emergency you want to
5:24you know if you go to big the worst
5:26thing that can happen is you get like
5:28too many clients but if you go too small
5:30the worst thing that can happen is you
5:31get none and you're you're stuck so I
5:35would you know I think you could easily
5:37get a client within fifty to a hundred
5:39but I wouldn't bank on that in an
5:41emergency situation I would go for 300
5:44because you know you surely you're gonna
5:47get one in 300 mmm you know if you're
5:49doing the emails properly if you're
5:51making these things like I don't see how
5:54you could do that and not get a client
5:56out of 300 it's near impossible to me so
6:00if we do that then the you know we
6:03shouldn't we shouldn't be in trouble at
6:05the end of 30 days and then if you if
6:07you just take 300 divided by 30 you get
6:0910 a day so all you need to do each day
6:12starting day one has send out ten of
6:14these things so I wouldn't try and build
6:17the list of 300 people first that's
6:20gonna be so boring and tedious and you
6:23know you'll want to kill yourself doing
6:24that so I just do 10 every day so I just
6:28do it first thing in the morning to get
6:30it off my mind so I can just relax for
6:32the rest of the day I'd wake up open up
6:34my laptop and I would just jump in
6:37find 10 companies that are a good fit
6:40put them into my Google Doc record all
6:43of their videos send out those 10 emails
6:45and then I know like I've just ticked
6:48off that one thing I need to do today to
6:50try and keep myself out of the situation
6:51mm-hmm how about the rest of the day
6:53then let's say you have time left over
6:55well hopefully these people are gonna
6:57reply back and things like that so
6:58you're having some time allocated for
7:01having conversations but the main thing
7:04is you get it off your mind that you've
7:05done a step towards fixing it the last
7:08thing you want to do is procrastinate it
7:10because every day it's gonna get worse
7:12and so you don't want to you know you
7:14don't want to put it off any days at all
7:16and you just want to make a dent in it
7:18every single day and I think after you
7:20do that morning action it's just gonna
7:23it's gonna put you in a way better state
7:25for the rest of the day mmm got it so
7:29yeah that kind of covers I think that's
7:30the situation a lot of people that we
7:32see they come and they're looking at
7:35consulting or a side hustle is something
7:37that can get them an immediate result
7:39for like a short-term pinch that they're
7:41in but then on the flip side there's
7:43other people that we're riding into
7:45community that said you know I do have
7:48them you know I have the money like 30
7:50days isn't necessarily a hard gap I have
7:53to make this they're more interested in
7:56like how do I make a believable plan for
7:58the next three years like what's the
8:00formula for for goal planning further
8:02out like I have time to figure out my
8:04niche I have time I just don't have to
8:06make money what what do I do in this
8:08situation so they're not in an emergency
8:13correct they have more time to figure it
8:15out and they just want it sounds like a
8:16believable plan for the next three years
8:20maybe something you know because maybe
8:23like something like that they're like oh
8:25that's something that would burn out you
8:26know it's a short-term solution I don't
8:29even really want to sell websites but I
8:30would for 30 days because I got to pay
8:32rent these people are trying to find
8:34more believable plan something that can
8:36they want to grow like a business they
8:38can be proud of essentially feel the
8:40believable plan comes from a you know a
8:44taste that's gotten results so you know
8:47if you've done something in a small
8:48sample and it's work
8:50then it could be a believable plan to
8:53really scale that thing up so I'll give
8:57you an example like when I first started
9:02doing you know selling these websites
9:04and everything I would be able to do
9:07like one to four a month that was pretty
9:09much how many I could do so then a
9:12believable plan for me for the next two
9:13years was okay Walter scale this thing
9:15up all I need to do is hire more people
9:17so I decided to start like an agency
9:20type business and hire people get them
9:22and teach them what I was doing then
9:23they could do it too right hmm so a
9:25believable plan comes from really just
9:28being doing more of what's already
9:31proven to work and I think plans aren't
9:35believable when there's no pilot test or
9:38no base test to prove like the proof of
9:41concept that's really what it is if
9:43you're you can't build a three year plan
9:45off a concept that's never been proven
9:48you know you have to see it with your
9:50own eyes happen at a small scale before
9:52you know that this thing can scale hmm
9:54and then with another example like you
9:57know being able to have a long-term
9:59vision and and having the confidence to
10:01like be it big on what I've done with
10:05like consulting.com and stuff you know
10:07I've invested a lot of money into it and
10:09you know I would never have the
10:11confidence to impor all of that money
10:13into it and work really hard towards it
10:15if I didn't think that it was a
10:18believable plan mm-hmm but the plans
10:20only believable because it had been
10:23proven the concept had been proven so I
10:26started out selling you know the the
10:28training program to people and it was
10:31really scrappy back then the program was
10:33just built in Dropbox and the I didn't
10:36have a website didn't have anything and
10:38what would happen is you know I just
10:40people would email me and I'd reply back
10:42and say hey I've got this thing you
10:43interested in it they'd say yes or no we
10:46might jump on skype and talk and then
10:48they would sign up and you know they'd
10:51just send me the money through PayPal or
10:52something and then they would sign up
10:54and I'd seen them a link to Dropbox
10:55right that's all it was no website
10:58nothing fancy it
11:00all not even the program was just
11:01recorded things and Dropbox and but once
11:05I had sold twelve people into that I
11:07think we did twelve or fifteen people I
11:09was like oh well this thing is proven
11:12now the next plan you know for the next
11:15year is to build this into a proper
11:17program like put it into a content
11:19portal make the video is better give it
11:21an actual name give it a brand and a
11:24logo and you know all of these niceties
11:26which people often do first when they
11:29really should do those later it's every
11:33time I've done the logo and everything
11:34first the business is pretty much
11:36available and every time I've just
11:38forgotten about that and just built the
11:40scrappiest most Guiteau thing ever the
11:43business has really done well and then
11:44the Polish comes over time mmm so I
11:47think most people were like there's no
11:51such thing as a believable plan like you
11:53can't make a plan that's believable the
11:55thing that makes it believable is having
11:57a proof of concept that's been proven
11:59got it and then as far as like time
12:02frames on a plan for you personally when
12:06is too far and when is too short like if
12:08you're making a business plan do you do
12:10it by a yearly basis like is a 5-year
12:12plan kind of just insane because it
12:14changes too much is it good to have a
12:16five-year plan because it keeps you on a
12:17big vision how do you feel about plans
12:20and the time lengths you should actually
12:21take action on those plans so in the
12:25earlier days I could only ever see like
12:27one year out and even then the plan
12:29changed a lot mmm so I think when you're
12:31first getting started you should think
12:33one year and then focus most of your
12:35attention all the time on on the month
12:38in the weeks and the days months weeks
12:40days is where you're going to be
12:42operating when you're getting started
12:44because you're just fooling yourself
12:46thinking out further than that and your
12:48most important goal is just to survive
12:51and build up your resources but as soon
12:55as you start getting you know enough
12:57resources that you're not and you know
12:59you're not in the emergency zone you can
13:01start thinking out one year and then as
13:04soon as you've really built up resources
13:05and things you can start thinking out
13:07like 2/3 and in terms of plans
13:12you
13:13when I do my like year plan I'll just
13:17have I'll just list like five main goals
13:19like five main things I need to achieve
13:21and then I'll kind of just chunk out
13:25different like months of the year where
13:28I'm working on different things and
13:30that's about as that's about as detailed
13:33as it is because things change all the
13:35time now you start working on something
13:37and then it things over here and then
13:39there and you know it moves all over the
13:40place so it's silly to plan things out
13:43too much and then in terms of two year
13:45three year four year five year those are
13:48just visions so like like an idea or a
13:53picture in my mind like a mental picture
13:55of weird the company and myself and the
13:58financials and everything might be there
14:00is no plan out there because you know
14:02the plans change in the month to make
14:05one out five years it's just stupid it's
14:08gonna be a little well it is a lie
14:10because I don't think anyone would ever
14:11plan out their fifth year and have
14:14things happen like that and their fourth
14:16year mmm
14:17so to me it's pointless as your gold had
14:23did you ever have like a five-year plan
14:25when you were getting started and if you
14:27did what was like one crazy vision or
14:30goal that you had then that like
14:31completely doesn't matter to you now at
14:33all is there anything when you were
14:37thinking about when you first started
14:38out you're like I definitely want to do
14:39this this is my vision and now you're
14:41like that was naive or I was thinking
14:43too small maybe I was thinking too big
14:44like whoa well yeah like when I started
14:46my first businesses like my very first
14:48one promoted yourself which is like an
14:50online job board I I thought that would
14:54be all I was doing for the rest of my
14:55life
14:56and I was thinking about how that might
14:58change and develop and all of these
14:59things but then it the business turned
15:01out to fail and not work so then
15:04obviously you know that got completely
15:06moved out of my vision and then I moved
15:09on to the next thing and then that
15:10became my vision and so yeah it's
15:12changed a lot I mean we know as a kid at
15:15school I thought I wanted to be a
15:16dentist he's so like and I thought all
15:19in the future I might be being a dentist
15:20or whatever then when I wanted a job I
15:23thought I'll just be working in a call
15:24you know like it changes all the time
15:27and it like it's how it's kind of hard
15:32to explain because you you only want to
15:35really commit and focus on one thing and
15:38just block everything else out once it's
15:40like proven to work really and it might
15:43just be proven at a very small scale but
15:46you just want it to be proven so that
15:49you know that you're putting all of this
15:51effort and focus and attention into
15:53something that's actually going to do
15:55something it's just hard to believe that
15:57when you haven't seen any sort of
15:59feedback from the market right like a
16:02good example might be like Michael
16:03Jackson if you watch like documentaries
16:05on his story which is really interesting
16:08you know early on when he was a kid like
16:10five six years old he was winning like
16:13school talent shows and stuff right hmm
16:15so this is good feedback for him that
16:18he's pretty good at this in that if he
16:20keeps putting in more effort if he keeps
16:23doing what he's doing just in larger and
16:25larger quantities and scale over time
16:27then he's going to be good at it it's
16:30gonna be a success hmm so until you
16:34really find that thing that's given you
16:36that feedback you you know you don't
16:38want to be too just focused on one thing
16:40you've got to be open to other ideas and
16:43experiment and things like that
