The Dream Car
0:00A year ago today, I managed to buy the
0:02perfect dream car. And you may have
0:03noticed that I've been using it to
0:04promote Nutonic, which is the new
0:06Tropics business I started with Chris
0:07Williamson nearly 2 years ago. Now, I
0:09don't expect all of you to know much
0:10about cars, but this is called a GT3.
0:12It's the majority of young boys's dream
0:15car. And the reason I don't call it my
0:16dream car is because I never in a
0:18million years thought I'd ever be able
0:19to have one. Let me tell you a little
0:20bit about it. It is impractical,
0:23uncomfortable, it has bucket seats, the
0:25front scrapes, the back scrapes, it's
0:27too low. I decided to get it in manual
0:29because growing up in the UK, although
0:30manual is impractical, it it's just
0:32beautiful. And it even has a roll cage
0:34in the back. However, in the 12 months
0:36of owning this car, it's been a really
0:38big problem. In this video, we need to
0:39get to the bottom of it. But one of the
0:41first things I don't tell you about
0:42having this car is that you have to
0:43learn how to get in and out of it. So,
0:46let's get into the problem. You see,
0:47about 18 months ago, my son was born.
0:49And that meant there was a lot of time
0:50feeding him, burping him, sat on the
0:52sofa, and watching YouTube. And I got
0:54very much into YouTube channels. And
0:56I'll show you some of them right now.
0:57So, let's get into some of them. First
0:58of all, we're gonna have to go to Matt
1:00Armstrong. For any of you that haven't
1:01watched this guy's videos, they're
1:02incredible.
1:03>> Car appears to be totaled.
1:06>> Sad.
1:07>> This was the first time I'd ever seen a
1:08GT3. I didn't even know what it was
1:09before this video. And then you kind of
1:11fall in love with the cars.
1:20And he didn't just build one, he's built
1:22several of them.
1:29Then I remember watching some of Rory
1:31Reed online and I actually messaged him
1:34asking him if I'd be making a mistake
1:35getting it in manual. He says to me,
1:37"GT3 has to be a stick." So he's one of
1:39the reasons I got a manual. Then Nico
1:41Leonard, who you might know from being
1:44like a watch expert, had a white GT3
1:47just like mine. And there was quite a
1:49moving moment in here where he took his
1:50dad out in it.
1:51>> Yeah.
The Problem Begins
2:01So, we got my favorite people on
2:03YouTube, but then I've not even got to
2:05two people that I've also spoken to that
2:07have been massively influential. The
2:09first here is a guy called Miy. And this
2:11is where the problems start to begin. I
2:13discovered Mondi from this video.
2:20And then probably the OG of Instagram is
2:23a guy called Funded Trust who remains
2:25anonymous, gets millions of views on his
2:27videos, 34 million. And it's because he
2:29does stuff like this.
2:41And now to people that don't get cars,
2:42it's quite a special thing to see
2:44someone have such an amazing car and
2:46drive it like it's supposed to be
2:48driven. Like every dude is just kind of
2:50imagining that they could be that guy.
2:52So you're probably thinking, where's the
2:53problem? I'll tell you where the problem
2:55is. Every single person that I love and
2:57respect online that has a GT3, they've
3:00done something with it. And that thing
3:01they've done, they've removed the stock
3:03exhaust and put a performance exhaust on
3:05it. And I feel like I could be
3:07potentially missing out. And there's
3:09only one way that I'm going to be able
3:10to find out. I made a phone call asked
3:12who was the number one person in
3:14Australia when it came to determining
3:16what you do in this scenario because I
3:18don't know that much about cars. I'm not
3:20even that good at driving. Out of all
3:21the people I called, the same name came
3:23back. Raz from Prestige Autoworks. So I
The IPE Titanium Install
3:26called him. I told him the dilemma. He
3:28asked me to trust him and to go meet him
3:30in Sydney on a certain day. And he flew
3:31from Melbourne just for this.
3:33>> So we've got James with 911 here on the
3:36hoist. We're about to do the full IPA
3:38exhaust system. Let's have a look.
3:40>> That's not an exhaust, is it?
3:42>> James, that's the good.
3:44>> Feels like Christmas.
3:46>> Christmas except I've got to pay for my
3:48own present.
3:49>> So that's one of your headers.
3:53>> Oh, and this thing right here up. This
3:56is your that backing door.
3:58>> Oh, wow.
4:00>> [ __ ] light, isn't it? Open her up.
4:02>> I'm excited for this. With great power
4:04comes great responsibility.
4:06>> Yeah. I don't trust myself with that.
4:08>> Cool. It is light, isn't it? Cool.
4:10Headers.
4:10>> So, headers.
4:12>> So, that goes to the side of the engine
4:13where the exhaust comes out.
4:15>> Yes. So, cylinder head goes here and
4:18then this goes to the catback exhaust
4:21system. It just feels It feels
4:23expensive. People will see it when every
4:24time I see a car nut, I'll be showing
4:26them pictures of my exhaust. Um, okay. I
4:27feel nervous holding this now. I feel I
4:30feel unqualified. We should do this
4:32every week, guys. I'll have to get more
4:33cars.
4:34>> Oh wow. We made the right. You made the
4:37right choice.
4:38>> Sick.
4:39>> Have a look at that. That is perfection.
4:41Do
4:41>> you know I've told my misses today? I'm
4:43working. Right. So my miss is at home
4:44with the baby. She's like, "Where are
4:46you off to today?" I'm like, "Babe, I've
4:47got a got a good day at work." So when
4:49you going to be home? I'm like probably
4:504 5:00. I'm actually working. Little
4:53does she know I'm just a kid at
4:54Christmas. That's
4:55>> what it feels like.
4:56>> Wrong day at work. Yeah, babe. Yeah. I
4:58thought these look unreal. So this is
5:00how it sounds before.
5:04[Music]
5:11All right,
5:13let's get the show started.
5:14>> I'm nervous. I'm I'm To me that sounded
5:18quite good. But John, I've just put my
5:20trust in people. I'm not going to
5:21pretend I know more about cars or
5:22exhausts. So, we're we'll use the term
5:25we I'm like the labor on the building
5:27site here. I'm just going to be holding
5:28screws. I reckon it's time to change the
5:29exhaust. and I might need you to take
5:32the exhaust home with you in case I
5:34don't like it. Then we're going to come
5:36back here or go to another garage so we
5:38don't offend anyone and go, "Excuse me,
5:39can you put my old exhaust back on,
5:41please?"
5:41>> You ever had that?
5:42>> What's that?
5:43>> Someone get an exhaust and then want to
5:45put their old one back on.
5:46>> Once
5:48you remember once he was a [ __ ]
5:50though.
5:50>> Oh, good.
5:51>> You know who you are. It's hard to
5:53describe an exhaust sound. You know what
5:55I mean? I mean, so when I, you know,
5:57like if I say to you, yeah, it's got
5:59this, you know, deep brow, like what I
6:01think in my head is going to be
6:02depending what what for your head. You
6:05know what I mean? But I guess this is
6:06why we do a lot of content on our on our
6:08Instagram and and our social.
6:10>> I ain't even signed a waiver yet, boys.
6:12I could slip away. I haven't signed a
6:14waiver.
6:15>> Me, too.
6:19[Music]
6:33[Music]
6:36If you were someone out there struggling
6:37with low testosterone, you could
6:38actually just change an exhaust on your
6:40car, cuz this is one of the main things
6:42that can prove that that's not true. But
6:44if you're someone that's TRT curious,
6:45maybe wants to know a little bit more
6:47about getting a blood work checked,
6:48maybe want to find out the levels you're
6:49at, or maybe explore TRT treatments,
6:52I've put loads of more information in a
6:54link. It's going to be in the
6:55description to this. It's going to be
6:56checkyoubloods.com. Click on that. I'm
6:58going to touch base with you over the
7:00next few days. If you want to order a
7:01blood test, I can get you one at a
7:02discount. So check that out in the
7:03description. Let's get back into this.
7:08[Music]
7:19That's loud.
7:21But we're inside. We're inside. It's
7:23going to sound louder cuz we're inside.
7:25It won't sound the same outside.
7:28Thank you very much, sir. Thank you very
7:30much. No worries.
7:37[Music]
7:40That's loud. My neighbors are going to
7:42hate me.
7:49>> What have we done? What have we done?
What Have I Done?
7:56I'm on
7:57[Music]
7:59Yeah.
8:14Go, mate. Go, mate. Come on.
8:18>> My god.
8:23>> Jesus.
8:25>> Is that your hand?
8:26>> Yeah.
8:27>> Yeah.
8:27>> I'm a bit scared of it. I'm a bit scared
8:30of it if I'm honest.
8:32>> And it still needs to run in. So, it's
8:34going to get louder and louder than
8:35this. So, but from the outside, this
8:37thing sounds incredible.
8:46Jesus Christ.
8:50Oh my god. So, we're back from the
8:53garage. It's been 2 days. I couldn't say
8:54this in front of Raz, but I think it
8:56would be a bit too much. For some of you
8:58that may or may not be aware, I've got
8:59an app called Affordable Online
9:00Coaching. For over seven years now,
9:02we've had over 100,000 people use the
9:03app and we've got people results like
9:05this, this, and even this. I'd love to
9:07say it was me, but it was actually my
9:08amazing coaches. We have memberships
9:09from£10 a month, and there'll be a link
9:11in the description to where you can
9:12download the app. We give you a 7-day
9:13free trial. And if you think that I've
9:14broken any of my promises about this
9:16being a great app, there's a 2e money
9:17back guarantee period as well. So, if
9:18you're currently doing your own
9:19workouts, great. Ignore what I'm saying.
9:21We'll get back to the video. But if
9:22you're someone that needs maybe a little
9:23bit of accountability, check out the
9:24app. Do the free trial. Thanks. Let's
9:25get back to the video. I think it's too
9:26loud for me to even go on a track and
9:29it's a track car. Every time I leave my
9:31house, I'm worried about the neighbors.
9:32The cold start on it is what everyone
9:34says is the best part. That's me getting
9:35out the house. There are neighbors with
9:37young kids. I'm worried it might just be
9:38a bit too antisocial. But I'll tell you
9:40what, I'm scared. I'm I'm worried to
9:41call Raz cuz he flew all the way from
9:43Melbourne to fit this. Have you still
9:44got the old one in the back of your car?
9:46>> Yeah, let's go.
9:47>> I just don't know what he's going to say
9:48when I'm We're going to have to put this
9:49back on. We might have to go to another
9:52garage so I don't hurt his feelings. I'm
9:54actually nervous to call him.
9:55>> Can I um free up my car now? I'm kind of
9:57sick of having your exhaust in there. I
9:58mean, not keep it in there till we get
9:59back to the garage.
Why It Matters
10:00>> [ __ ] hell.
10:00>> It's not going to fit in mine, is it?
10:05[Music]
10:09>> This isn't just the car. It's a
10:10materialistic item. Something to be
10:12proud of, something to work towards.
10:14This car is about New Tonic. It's about
10:16locking in now, living later. It's about
10:18what the result is and can be from years
10:20of backto-back hustle. It's not there to
10:21show off, but to inspire. It doesn't
10:23even have to be this model of car. It
10:25could be any car. Not everyone knows the
10:27smiles you can get as a car lover. The
10:29time you just stare at it and think,
10:30"Wow, that's mine." As we grow up, we're
10:32told to be sensible, to be responsible.
10:34But what if that's sending us in the
10:36wrong direction? What if we want to be
10:37childish? That's the best part. That's
10:39the most important part. I think the
10:41exhaust is staying.
10:49It's not about the neighbors, Declan.
10:51It's not about the noise. It's about the
10:5314-year-old version of me playing Need
10:55for Speed Underground 2. It's about the
10:58boys.
11:00It's about the smiles that you put on
11:02people's faces as you drive by. It's
11:04about the kids telling you to rev it as
11:06you go past. It's about having someone's
11:08dream car that they put up on their wall
11:10and driving the [ __ ] out of it.
11:14Some people out there, we go, "What
11:15about the resell? What about the resale
11:18value? Modding your car is going to hurt
11:20your resale." Well, guess what?
11:22In my eyes, not driving your [ __ ] so the
11:26next guy can have a better go is like
11:28not [ __ ] your wife so the next guy
11:29can have a better time.
11:34Smiles per miles. These engines won't
11:37last forever. We're going to be all
11:39electric soon. It's about locking in a
11:41bit of history. It's about having fun.
11:44Yesterday, I see a 991 GT3 RS. He's in
11:48traffic in front of me. So, I go over
11:50and I find him. As I'm pulling past, I
11:52went to give him a thumbs up. As I pull
11:54up next to him, he's given me a thumbs
11:56up back. Me and this guy going down the
11:58road developed a kind of bromance. I
12:00loved his car. He loved mine. And when
12:03we got to the freeway, I dropped a gear.
12:06I booted it within the legal speed
12:08limit. And he booted it past me. He had
12:10a custom exhaust, too. And I thought at
12:12that very moment, Declan, imagine being
12:14in that moment, having that romance with
12:16that guy, giving each other the thumbs
12:18up, and only having a stock exhaust, how
12:20little he would have thought of me. I
12:22have a great life, but sometimes they
12:24were just moments that put a smile on
12:26your face. And I don't think it's sad to
12:29say that many of their moments when I
12:31put my foot down.
12:34I swear on my life for the first 24
12:36hours I genuinely thought this exhaust
12:39is going to have to go back. I text
12:42about five people that I all know that
12:44have got custom exhausts and they all
12:46said the same thing. They said wait.
12:47They said a moment is coming. And when I
12:49had that moment, everything changed. One
12:52of my mates I picked up in it. I put my
12:53foot down. Do you know what he said? How
12:55many times do you live James? I said I
12:57needed to hear that. I needed to hear
12:59that. If anything, the way I see it, if
13:02your car sounds better at slower speeds,
13:04it's safety. So, I'm doing this for
13:06safety and for the boys. Mostly the
13:09boys. Now, just before I say thanks for
13:11watching, think about this. What would
13:13Clarkson do?
13:14>> You see, back in 1994,
13:17I was living in London. I got a call one
13:19evening from my mom to say that my dad
13:21was desperately ill in a hospital in
13:24Sheffield, and I needed to get there as
13:26quickly as possible. I just taken a
13:29chicken out of the oven and I thought,
13:30well, I'll take that for my mom cuz she
13:33won't have eaten. Ran outside and I had
13:35a 9 to8 on test that week.
13:38And when I arrived in Sheffield, the
13:40chicken was still warm
13:43and my dad was still alive. In fact, he
13:46died half an hour later.
13:51And the truth is,
13:54if I hadn't have been driving a car
13:56which could sit quite happily at 170
13:58mph,
14:01I wouldn't have had the opportunity to
14:03say goodbye to my dad.
14:07So, as far as I'm concerned, the 928
14:10is all right.
