0:00this is going to be a very different
0:01educational video than usual this isn't
0:04even actually my desk that's my desk
0:06there and I'll show you the gym come on
0:08in this video I'm going to explain to
0:09you why you should quit whatever you're
0:10doing and move to Australia yeah she's
0:12beautiful ain't she first
0:14thing about living in Australia is how
0:16accepting they are of you being Barefoot
0:18like
0:20everywhere grab my phone go for a little
0:22adventure and for the record I'm only
0:24drinking these because I had to buy a
0:25hundred of them for a thumbnail that I
0:27did for another video don't even taste
0:28that good but for any of you that
0:30confused I'm English I lived in the UK
0:32till I was 27 then had a psychedelic
0:34trip ended up deciding to move to
0:35Australia was the best decision I've
0:37ever made and throughout this video
0:38you're going to understand exactly why
0:39that is point number one it's not that
0:41expensive in Australia petrol about 30%
0:44cheaper rent even in a rental crisis
0:46nowhere near as bad as London because to
0:47live in the UK you pretty much got to
0:49live in London even if you live in
0:50Manchester which is nicer than London
0:52people are like why don't you live in
0:53London whereas Australia even living in
0:55Bondi Beach one of the most famous
0:57beaches in the world is cheaper than
0:59London and I just can't quite fathom
1:01that when you think about quality of
1:02life so Australia is a lot more
1:03affordable but don't just take my word
1:05for it let's show you some of it I need
1:07my keys I'm not going to lie to you up
1:09until the age of 27 I used to get
1:10smashed in the United Kingdom every
1:12weekend and very often snort a lot of
1:14coke sorry Mom and Dad if you're
1:16watching this thing is in the UK to me
1:18and I'm not saying not telling you how
1:19to live your lives the UK was quite
1:21mundane for me and I had to escape it at
1:23the weekend it was almost like you have
1:25to go through this life of gray skies
1:27and people being miserable within at the
1:28weekend suddenly boom
1:30Coke booze whatever even something like
1:33this car six-year-old car I don't really
1:36need flashy things quite as much here
1:38than I do in the UK in the UK people are
1:40like brand new car finance need to get a
1:42Range Rover even though I live in Su
1:44because they need some kind of
1:46experience throughout their day that
1:47makes them feel good and I'm not saying
1:49that's a bad thing I'm just saying it's
1:51very different when you come to
1:52somewhere like Australia rather than
1:53sitting in an overpriced 4x4 car that's
1:55never going to go off road you could
1:57maybe go to the beach and have a swim
1:58before work in Australia one of the
2:00craziest things that happens here is if
2:01it's your mate's birthday you all meet
2:03up at 6:00 a.m. you get up at 5:30 to go
2:06for a swim in the beach together before
2:08work in the UK no one is meeting up
2:12before work coffee shops don't even open
2:13till 7:00 a.m. here you get a coffee at
2:15half five if you want and again this is
2:17my personal experience with Australia
2:19it's not right for everyone but I know
2:21there are going to be a lot of you
2:22watching this they're in a similar kind
2:24of place to me in the UK where you're
2:25like I'm not happy here you feel like
2:27your a plant that's been left in the
2:28shade that you can't fully grow and
2:30that's actually how I felt it was just
2:31the Psychedelic experience that got that
2:33out of me so what we're going to do now
2:34is go to the beach this beach isn't even
2:36known for being a great Beach it's just
2:38a beach and another thing right you
2:40might agree with this as well
2:41Australians this is just their normal
2:42daily life but as a Brit who came here
2:44on October 2016 every day feels like a
2:47holiday and there's a part of you that
2:49thinks how long can you really sustain
2:51living in a place that's a holiday and
2:53I've been doing it 7 years still feels
2:54like a holiday then there's the next
2:56thing family it's a long way from home
2:58it's a day away yeah it's 21 hours of
3:00flying everywhere is a day away once my
3:02flight got delayed twice on the way back
3:04from Berlin took me a day to get back to
3:06London it's a day away do you miss your
3:08family and friends yes but when the
3:10plane's going down you got to put the
3:12mask on yourself first then other people
3:14if you stay in a place you don't want to
3:16be in to appease people around you
3:18you're putting the mask on them whilst
3:19you slowly suffocate to death I know
3:21I've been there now there are also a lot
3:23of reasons that I hate Australia tax
3:26just as bad as the UK but if you're
3:28going to pay 45% tax bracket here you
3:30know you're not going to get stabbed for
3:32your watch on a night out and there's
3:33not going to be any potholes in the road
3:35and know you thinking spiders you see
3:38one a year the big ones that you see
3:39online the Huntsman these are actually
3:41the ones that aren't even that dangerous
3:43these are the ones that kill the bad
3:44spiders like the redbacks left at the
3:46light left at the light and the funnel
3:48webs you have seen a funnel web a road
3:51closed where are we going to go detour
3:53and here's a crazy thing for any of you
3:54that do move out to Australia right they
3:56don't use traffic lights when they're
3:58doing Road works they have people there
4:00with lollipops and in Sydney they kind
4:02of always hire hot chicks to hold on to
4:04the lollipops you notice this you're
4:05going through Road works and you're like
4:07why is there a 9 out of 10 they're
4:09flipping a lollipop and they get good
4:10money for it as well one of your biggest
4:12problems with coming to Australia is
4:13Visas so any of you that want to come
4:15out sometimes you just got to put the
4:16tip in to see how it feels do that 3mon
4:19Visa you get a holiday Visa tourist visa
4:21you must apply before you leave if you
4:22go to the airport and try and get on the
4:24flight without a Visa you're not getting
4:25on that flight use the 3 months to
4:27travel you got the East Coast you got
4:29per on the west coast I recommend maybe
4:31going off to Barley for a few days or a
4:33week then coming to Ken and working your
4:34way down south to Sydney and Melbourne 3
4:36months use that if you don't like it you
4:38can go back to your job you can go back
4:40to living with your parents you can go
4:41back to the partner you broke up with to
4:43go to Australia they will take you back
4:45they'll just see it as a midlife crisis
4:47but if you come here and you love it
4:49then you got to leave again and apply
4:50for a oneyear working holiday Visa so
4:52this is just the local Beach as you can
4:55see it's not even that busy but if
4:57you're British like me there's something
4:59you've got got to prepare yourself for
5:00in Australia all cars have got a park
5:03facing the same way so you can get a
5:05ticket for parking your car facing the
5:08opposite direction to everyone else
5:10which is mental it's bloody mental do
5:13you know what do you know what
5:14apparently chicks love you put your arm
5:16behind the seat you like that is that a
5:19BBL can't say that can you if you've
5:21watched as many Andrew tape videos as I
5:23have you'll have been called a broky
5:25quite a few times and one of the things
5:26I really like about Australia that not
5:27many people are talking about is
5:29Australia is is a really good place to
5:30be poor now obviously not so poor that
5:32you're you know putting your hand out
5:33for money at the side of the road when I
5:35came here as a Backpacker even if I was
5:36spending the least amount of money
5:37possible I could spend my days down here
5:39chilling out reading a book figuring out
5:41myself you can went the surfboard for
5:43near to nothing and you can have a
5:44pretty good life I've told this story a
5:46million times before but when I got out
5:47here I remember sitting in a coffee shop
5:49and there was like all these young 25y
5:50olds that were fit and they were just
5:52like serving coffee and I was like why
5:54are good-looking young people working in
5:55a coffee shop for minimum wage so then I
5:57realized they start work at 6: a.m. they
5:59clock off at 2 p.m they come down the
6:01beach with their friends they have a
6:03cider they watch the sun go down and
6:04these 24 year olds on minimum wage are
6:06living a better life than most people in
6:08the United Kingdom so many people in the
6:10UK earn so much more money so that they
6:12can escape the life they don't like at
6:13the weekend but here at 10: a.m. you're
6:15feeling a bit flat you go down the beach
6:18jump in the ocean make you feel so much
6:20better and it costs nothing everyone
6:21talks about quality of life and
6:22lifestyle do you know the best thing
6:24about Australia is you don't even need
6:25to be that ambitious if you can cover
6:27your rent and feed yourself you can
6:29build a good life not just for you but
6:30your family as well in the UK to take
6:32your kid to the beach means you got to
6:34sit on a RH air or EasyJet flight for a
6:35few hours wait for your flight to get
6:37delayed it's just insane that in
6:39Australia this is just considered normal
6:42another good thing about Australia is
6:43it's far enough away from literally
6:45everything else in the world that if you
6:46want to reinvent yourself you can you
6:48can come here and be a more confident
6:49person you can be more outgoing when I
6:51got here a friend that I knew that was
6:53here he made me delete all of my date
6:55and apps when I got here and every girl
6:57I spoke to I had to give them my number
6:59in person James in the UK never did that
7:02James Australia doesn't do that anymore
7:03cuz my girlfriend kill me but I never
7:05had any social media followers when I
7:06came here I didn't have any successful
7:08business I'd never even accomplished
7:10anything that important until I came to
7:12Australia and reinvented myself now for
7:14some of you you might not want to do
7:16that but for some of you you might but
7:18here's the craziest thing right I came
7:20back to personal training after my psych
7:22elect trip that happened to be in
7:23Croatia I kind of said to a few of my
7:25clients in the gym some of them I've
7:26been training for years right and Jackie
7:28came in Jackie you might be watching
7:30this I said to her I'm kind of thinking
7:32about maybe going to Australia and what
7:34I used to do with my clients was I used
7:35to get them to warm up for like five
7:37maybe 10 minutes on uh an elliptical
7:39just so I could sense how they were how
7:41they were feeling whether or not they
7:42were run down just to check in with them
7:45and she stopped in her tracks There She
7:47Goes you need to go to Australia and I
7:49was like this is my client she sees me
7:50two three times a week why is she saying
7:52she said me and my husband had the
7:53opportunity to go there when we were
7:55younger we didn't go we never went it's
7:57the biggest regret of our life she goes
8:00because before we knew it we had kids
8:01then we had grandkids and now we will
8:02never see the one place we wanted to go
8:04to and I was like wow that's pretty
8:06pretty powerful and I took it on board
8:08went home the next session she came in
8:11she was one of my bread and butter
8:12favorite clients to see on a daily basis
8:14she literally just said have you got
8:16your ticket yet she was obviously
8:17devastated cuz I mean some personal
8:19trainer but that's the real danger
8:20you're kind of rolling with here if you
8:22put this off any longer just takes one
8:24load to grow up a bird and you got a
8:25family once you have kids you ain't
8:27never come in don't be like Jackie so
8:29you've probably seen that Infamous
8:30swimming pool in Bondi called icebergs
8:32that pool for a visit including sauna
8:35costs less than entry to the two inck
8:37Lido I have to send you what the toot
8:38and back Lio is it's like a little pool
8:40in London it's 90 M long do you know
8:43what I hate about the toot and back Lio
8:45you made a pool that's 90 M long just
8:47make it 100 just make it 100 m what's
8:50the point who designed that yeah yeah
8:52yeah we'll come here how long is that 90
8:54M perfect
8:56[ __ ] good day James how you doing
8:58you're all right
9:00oh sorry occupational
9:02hazard hello is it he yeah oh he's
9:06beautiful kelpy kelpy cross cool I've
9:09got a kelpy at home so another thing you
9:11don't realize how gas lit we've been in
9:13the UK when it comes to coffee right
9:15coffee in Australia is amazing it's like
9:1810 times better and I'm not just saying
9:19that it's like unreal you go back to
9:21Costa Nero Starbucks and you're like why
9:24are you selling me dark catpiss so you
9:26come to Australia you do your work in
9:27holiday Visa and suddenly you're coffee
9:29connoisseur you're a snob and I'm
9:31praying on Lord sweet baby Jesus that
9:34they've got arm and
9:36crossant how are you very good thanks
9:38can I please get a long black with milk
9:39just some cold milk in the always all
9:41good is that a large or a small for the
9:43long black oh I'll take a large please
9:45up no worries and then just some milk on
9:46the side pleas no worries have a good
9:48here take away take away please take
9:50away yeah just $5 thank
9:53you
9:54really amazing which one which one was
9:57it I'm doing a that's crazy that's B
10:00maybe it knew we were close I'm doing a
10:02video now on like why I like Australia
10:04so you know saying to the British people
10:06not too many of them we don't have too
10:07many of them oh thank God what's your
10:09favorite thing about living
10:11here freedom freedom for me when I came
10:15here as a Backpacker you can have such a
10:16good life with not a lot of money
10:18everyone says quality of life but
10:19whereas here like you can have so many
10:21little bouts of happiness throughout the
10:22day you get home your your glass is full
10:24by 7:00 p.m. going on holiday for me is
10:26a chore now how long have you been here
10:28uh 28 years 28 years that's why you
10:31sound like a azy I've been Bing oh
10:34Birmingham won't hold it against yeah so
10:37I'm going to convert a few people that
10:38are probably in a similar position to me
10:40long go what was your name Emma Emma
10:42lovely to meet you enjoy your breakfast
10:44telling people about armman crosss is
10:46like giving your best mate a hit on
10:47crystal meth once they start they're
10:49probably not going to stop why don't we
10:50go on an Endeavor to try and find an
10:52Arman
10:54crosy another thing that I never thought
10:56I'd really like about Australia is there
10:57are no chains of coffee shops so like I
11:00said in the UK you got Nero dog [ __ ]
11:01Costa dog [ __ ] Starbucks dog [ __ ] and
11:04it's expensive it's like £370 for a
11:06flipping coffee this is $5 which is £250
11:09so in Australia which everyone thought
11:11was like a really expensive place isn't
11:14so because of that because of the fact
11:15all these kind of chains are independent
11:18they give a [ __ ] a lot more about the
11:19things they're producing if you go into
11:21like a bills in brol and your poached
11:23eggs are hard no one really cares cuz
11:25they're just working for the one big
11:26conglomerate business well sorry sorry
11:29but here because everything's
11:30independent they have to maintain a
11:32certain level and quality to the food
11:34and coffee they produce or people won't
11:35go back so every cup of coffee dare I
11:38say it is made with love the breakfast
11:41is I'm real the bread oh amazing it's
11:46worth noting Sydney Queensland has the
11:49best people so the North Melbourne has
11:51probably got the best Metropolitan Vibe
11:54more of a city great food probably the
11:56best coffee Sydney's just got like a
11:59good pinch of everything it's not got
12:00the best beaches it's got good beaches
12:02it's not got the best city it's got a
12:03good City people there are kind of
12:05[ __ ] when you go outside of Sydney
12:07people are much more likely and inclined
12:09to say hello to you your neighbors will
12:11remind you to take the bins out they'll
12:13have a chat with you and Sydney can be a
12:14hard place to make friends so if you
12:16come make sure you have some kind of
12:18hobby or passion project especially
12:20something like Jiu-Jitsu I didn't do
12:21Jiu-Jitsu until I came to Shia that is a
12:23very easy way to start making some
12:25friends cuz at least you know they're
12:26not [ __ ] cuz not many [ __ ] do
12:29being alone does not mean you're lonely
12:31aloneness and loneliness are two
12:33different things and when I did start
12:34traveling here I did have a few days on
12:36my own I remember having a wobbly one
12:37day and chatting to my friend Lucy Lord
12:39and I was like I feel kind of lonely she
12:41was like you're not lonely you're alone
12:43there's the difference she said get a
12:45good book open it and start being
12:47appreciative of the fact that no one's
12:49[ __ ] pestering you and my god did she
12:50have a point they will have arm and
12:52cross ons but then so many these we'll
12:55try here first this Bakery looks lit no
12:59arm and croissant only a chocolate
13:03one I'm pretty devastated if I'm honest
13:06a special mention to my mate
13:09George he didn't die but he did get a
13:11girl pregnant when I was considering
13:14coming out to
13:15Australia I messaged him on Facebook and
13:17I was like oh mate what's Australia like
13:20and he knew
13:22exactly what I meant with that and he
13:24sent me a message that changed my life
13:26forever he said I'm not going to talk to
13:28you until you book your flight and I was
13:30like oh cuz what I was doing was I was
13:32looking for reasons to not take action I
13:35was looking for reasons excuses that's
13:37why I was asking my clients oh I'm
13:38thinking of going to Australia I was
13:40hoping that someone in my life would
13:41talk me out of it and then it was only
13:44really those last few conversations I
13:46had that pushed me over the edge to put
13:47myself out of the comfort zone to come
13:49and quite literally was the single best
13:52decision of my life and I don't take
13:54that very lightly I don't even know if
13:55anyone's going to give a [ __ ] or want to
13:57watch this video but I can't express how
13:59great coming here was for every part of
14:01my health my mental health my business
14:04my relationships everything now I could
14:06be completely wrong but surely coming
14:09out and realizing it's not right for you
14:10is way better than never even trying and
14:12Tim Ferris is a famous saying where he
14:14goes someday when you say oh I'll do it
14:18someday I'll get around to it someday
14:20someday is a disease that will take your
14:22dreams to the Grave cuz there is no good
14:25time to do this there is never going to
14:26be a good time to come and pack up
14:28everything go to the other side of the
14:29world so just [ __ ] do it do you know
14:31what I was going to avoid saying [ __ ]
14:33because I'll get demonetized now and I
14:34won't get any [ __ ] money but no
14:36[ __ ] do it stop being a [ __ ] all
14:38your life you're not getting any younger
14:41so just grow a here and [ __ ] do it
14:43good day mate then we can cut to the
14:45scene finger in the ass boom I suppose
14:47living and mov into Australia is a bit
14:49like having a finger in the ass you
14:51might be curious your whole life
14:52wondering I wonder what it's like but
14:55until
14:56you give it a go
14:59you're never really going to
15:01know
