0:00anyone who's ever heard of creatine

0:01gummy before always seems to think the

0:03same thing how on Earth does this taste

0:05so good with creatine in it usually

0:07creatine's rather grainy and powdery

0:09however despite our suspicions

0:11manufacturers and brands have always

0:12reassured us that not only do these

0:14supplements have creatine in that they

0:15have the right amount of creatine in for

0:17us to get the benefits but quite a lot

0:19of research has emerged this week

0:21showing that that not may be the case

0:24truth to be told I should be in bed

0:25right now I had surgery two days ago but

0:27with everything that's going down online

0:28I had to get this out there and also I

0:30nearly got caught up in the middle of

0:31this whole thing and I'll be explaining

0:33how I ended up on a private jet with the

0:35founder of the company that's facing the

0:37most allegations so before we delve into

0:39these results let's look at two things

0:41the first thing what is an effective

0:42dose of creatine so as a gold standard

0:44we're told that you should aim to get

0:46five grams of creatine a day and for

0:48almost everyone five grams of creatine

0:50manah hydrate every day and timing

0:52doesn't matter is going to sort you out

0:53now I've always said that if you're a

0:54little bit smaller you can maybe get

0:56away with a little bit less but you

0:57should probably take five GRS anyway and

0:59I also famously said if you've ever been

1:00to Thailand and a lady boy says to you

1:02oh big boy you probably deserve to go

1:03north of that 5 g mark and for years

1:05whenever I put the powder into a drink

1:07I've always gone a little bit over

1:09because I've always thought if I

1:10undershoot it a little bit I'm not going

1:11to get the full benefits and if I

1:13overshoot it a little bit what's the

1:15worst that can happen and when we look

1:16at the benefits of creatine we're now

1:17seeing some new research that there can

1:19be some cognitive benefits single high

1:21dose of creatine can temporarily improve

1:23cognitive performance during sleep

1:24deprivation this is due to creatine's

1:26ability to prevent a drop in pH level

1:28improve processing speed increase

1:30intercellular energy consumption and

1:32increase high extracellular creatine

1:35availability the main ones are to do

1:37with performance in the gym how much

1:39extra muscle would you build if you took

1:40creatine every day for a year straight

1:42one extra pound 2 extra pounds 10 extra

1:45pounds well the best science seems to

1:47say that you probably gain something

1:48around 2 to 3 extra pounds or 1 to 1.5

1:51extra kilos of lean mass and even though

1:53some of that will be water weight any

1:55water you hold from creatine will be

1:56inside the muscle where you want it so

1:59that's not a bad thing creatine can also

2:00help you build muscle about onethird

2:02faster so if it would have taken you 5

2:03months to add 5 pounds of muscle before

2:05creatine could help you do it in 3 and

2:071/2 months instead the majority of

2:09people on the internet know about this

2:10because I have some of the most viewed

2:11videos on YouTube about the subject of

2:13creatine which some of these companies

2:15have been ripping off without buying

2:16permission to sell their products which

2:18adds another layer of complexity to

2:20today's investigation but we'll get into

2:21that in a second so let's quickly look

2:23at the creatine gummy industry for

2:25decades now we've studied creatine we

2:26know it's good for us but the toughest

2:28thing is the administration of it it's

2:30quite gritty it doesn't taste nice it

2:31gives some people's stomach upset so

2:32very clever companies thought okay let's

2:34sell creatine in a form that'll be

2:36easier for people to take it because

2:38it's all about habits at the end of the

2:39day getting someone to consume three to

2:41five gummies every day is a lot easier

2:42than it would be to get someone to put a

2:44heaped teaspoon of grainy horrible white

2:47powder into their water or protein

2:49Shaker so the world of creatin gummies

2:51for born now it's worth noting as well

2:53that there is a pretty big markup in

2:55these gummies this is the most expensive

2:57form of taking creatine but irrespective

2:59a price people love them but I don't

3:01know about you the very first day that I

3:03tried one of these creatin gummies the

3:04first thing I said was there is no way

3:07there is creatine in that and well my

3:09assumptions let's see if they're correct

3:12so overload here is one of the brands

3:13that's in the firing line now overload

3:15state that each gummy is between 3 to 4

3:18G and that in each gummy of 3 to 4 G

3:21there is 1.5 G of creatine which means

3:24if you would have three to five gummies

3:26a day you would hit the amount of

3:28creatine in which you need so then I

3:30thought if I'm going to make this video

3:31and make that level of accusation I'm

3:32going to have to send a sealed bag of

3:34these creutin gummies to uins to get

3:36tested and well the results have come

3:38back first of all the sample weight was

3:402.8 G and we'll get onto the

3:42significance of that in a second as far

3:43as the

3:45monohydrate where they were supposed to

3:47be 1.5 G there are

3:500.849 G looking at this we can assume

3:53there was once creutin in the whole of

3:55China where the factory exists it's that

3:58little like I said of other tests that

4:00are being done that are going to find

4:01their way back to us but let's have a

4:03look at the issue why the actual weight

4:05of the gram only being 2.8 G is an issue

4:07overload took to social media very

4:09quickly to defend themselves but they

4:12redacted some of the information

4:13available then down here where it says

4:15creutin monohydrate it stipulates that

4:1837.3% of each gummy is creatin

4:20monohydrate now the math say math in on

4:23that to begin with but there's another

4:24thing the certificate of analysis shall

4:26not be reproduced except in its entirety

4:29which means that if you if you're going

4:29to share that document you have to share

4:31the whole thing it's worth noting that

4:32just before when I showed you the test

4:34results it was not in their entirety so

4:36I'm going to put something in the

4:37description to a way that you guys can

4:39access not only the results of the ones

4:41that I'm talking about but then the full

4:42results of any of the results that come

4:44through in time to come now it appears

4:46I'm not the only person that has had

4:48their suspicions on creating gummies

4:50this is non nutrition they undertook

4:52further test on the sour watermelon

4:53flavor creatin gummies through testing

4:55of the 3 g gummy sample we found them to

4:58contain. 76 Mig of creatin monohydrate

5:02which is

5:030.05% of the claimed 1500 Mig of creatin

5:06monohydrate per

5:08gummy and these guys came with receipts

5:11let's quickly look at how I ended up on

5:13a private jet with the owner of one of

5:14the companies in question my manager is

5:16getting slammed with ads in the UK about

5:18this creatin gummy business and he goes

5:20on to Amazon and sees the sheer amount

5:22of these products being sold each month

5:23he can't believe there's such an

5:24opportunity in the market that we don't

5:25know about now I can't even really talk

5:28about the numbers the brands like

5:29overload of selling because I've signed

5:31an NDA I was in the process of investing

5:33into this company but anyone can look

5:35online and see they are selling millions

5:37of gummies so I did what any

5:39entrepreneur would I reached out to the

5:40owner hey would you like to come on a

5:42private jet TOA so I can learn a bit

5:44more about the business and I was so

5:45impressed by the business that I made

5:47him an offer so we make him a deal he

5:49accepts Happy Days looks like I'm going

5:51to add a czy and gummy business to the

5:54portfolio excellent tasting creating got

5:56me on myad so let me say Okay moving

5:58forward we got some legal due processes

6:01we do some third party testing it was

6:03just around that time the accepted offer

6:05then was rejected now after the collapse

6:07of the deal I had some questions about

6:09due diligence and I always had those

6:11apprehensions in my mind the first time

6:13I tried them I had a belief there's no

6:15creatine in this now I'm not a

6:17connoisseur of creatine but I wanted to

6:19know if there really is technology out

6:20there that can make a supplement so

6:22difficult to take like creatine

6:23undetectable to the human pallet one of

6:25the reasons I had a comment on this is

6:27they are still using videos of me to

6:29promote the brand without permission

6:31despite being rejected from the deal and

6:33asking several times and even sending a

6:35legal letter there are still active

6:37adverts for me being used to promote

6:39this business when we look at some of

6:41the Amazon reviews some people are

6:42saying that the individual gummies only

6:44weigh two G grams so if with the own

6:47results that you're proclaiming saying

6:49that 37% of your gummies contain

6:51creatine even if that is true that means

6:53there's only 600 Mig per gummy not, 1500

6:57that's less than half also according to

6:59your own packaging allulose in the

7:02United Kingdom allulose is currently

7:03being classified as a novel food

7:05requiring approval from the food

7:06standards agency before it can legally

7:08be incorporated into food products and

7:10supplements as of February 2025 this

7:12approval has not yet been granted

7:14rendering allulose unauthorized for use

7:16in these markets that's a problem some

7:18of these reviews are getting spicy

7:20online the nutritional value State at

7:22serving weight 7 G and it's supposed to

7:24include 4 and2 G of creatin 4 and2 G of

7:26carbohydrate that's 9 G nothing adds up

7:29and they refuse to acknowledge it people

7:31asking for proof of certification

7:33dissolving in water leaves no Powder now

7:35just to make clear this video was

7:36supposed to be coming out in a few

7:38months time I've actually sent off three

7:40other batches that are currently in the

7:42process of being tested so even if

7:45overload if you want to come to me for

7:46legal and try and sue me for defamation

7:48or whatever I've got plenty of sealed

7:49bags let's look into where this really

7:51becomes an issue creutin gummies are

7:53expensive although the practicality for

7:54creating gummies is unarguable they're

7:5710 times the price of what creating

7:59powder cost

8:00now if there was the purported amount of

8:01creatine in there fine but let me use

8:04the kindest amount of data in front of

8:06us where some research shows there's

8:08little to zero quite literally not even

8:11enough to say there's a trace of

8:12creatine in there let's look to our

8:14kindest figures of saying there's 6% of

8:16the amount of claimed creatine in each

8:18gummy that means you would need to now

8:20take 20 times as many gummies to hit the

8:23minimal effective dose for someone

8:25considering a bag is £24 or £23.99 if we

8:28times that by 20 someone would need to

8:30spend nearly £500 a month on gummies to

8:33get the same amount of creatine that

8:35they could get for £5 now it's worth

8:37noting I very highly doubt that the

8:39founder of overload Johnny who I think

8:42was 18 at the time of launching the

8:43business created some master plan to rip

8:45people off the chances are this is a

8:47factory in China that are selling sweets

8:50as supplements but as a business owner

8:52who's running over 900 adverts on meta

8:54of which a lot of ripped off of my

8:56YouTube videos you should be doing your

8:58due diligence to ensure that you're

8:59testing your own product to ensure

9:02efficacy to ensure that your thousands

9:03of customers are getting what they're

9:05paying for but how companies are going

9:06to regain trust with their customers how

9:09this is going to impact the supplement

9:10industry as a whole and whether or not

9:12this will prod High Street resellers

9:14into ensuring that they do third party

9:16testing before selling products which

9:17they don't do at the moment something

9:19needs to change in this industry because

9:21paying 10 times the price of creatine to

9:23get a thousandth of the amount that's

9:25not just a bad deal that sounds illegal
