0:00There's an English guy online who eats
0:02food for a living and he just got his 1
0:03billionth view on YouTube and his name
0:05is Beard Meets Food. Now, the crazy
0:07thing with this is he's in pretty good
0:09shape. And if you don't know who this
0:11guy is, this is what he does.
0:14This is really spicy. Look at the size
0:16of those cheese curds.
0:21I like this.
0:23Sick.
0:25So, if you're like me, you're probably
0:27wondering, "How does this guy travel the
0:29world eating the most calorie dense
0:31meals ever seen in history?" He's
0:33averaging millions of views per video.
0:35Let's be conservative. 5 to10,000 US per
0:39million views. Imagine that as a life
0:41traveling around the country. What do
0:43you do? I'm a professional eater. And
0:44remain in shape. Guy shredded. What is
0:48his secret? But just before we get into
0:50the secrets that Adam utilizes to stay
0:52in shape whilst being a professional
0:53eater, someone commented something on my
0:56channel the other day saying that you
0:58need to control insulin, not your
1:00calories, which is completely against
1:01everything that I believe in. And he
1:03said you couldn't lose fat if you were
1:05eating McDonald's three times a day.
1:08There's a common misconception that you
1:09can't lose weight unless you eat healthy
1:11foods. And although I want people to eat
1:13healthy foods, we're going to go to
1:14McDonald's. I'm going to show you what a
1:16day's worth of calories for me would
1:17look like in a deficit. Now, some people
1:21refute this, but you had that famous
1:23professor that lost weight eating
1:24Twinkies. We've had Jordan S recently on
1:27YouTube lose fat while spiking his
1:29insulin every day. Although I'm not here
1:31saying that eating junk food or takeaway
1:33food is good for fat loss, I think it's
1:35a good idea to visualize what that
1:36amount of calories would look like in
1:38something like McDonald's. Could I
1:39please get one Big Mac? Uh 20 chicken
1:41nuggets, please. 20, please. Large
1:44chips, please. Two cheeseburgers,
1:46please. And an orange juice, please.
1:48That's it. Thanks. I'm not saying other
1:50people don't do this, but I have to I
1:51have to say please and thanks after
1:53every order. Similarly to when I use
1:55chat GPT, I say please and thanks on
1:57there, too, because you best be polite
1:59to them robots, cuz when they come after
2:01us and start taking our job, I have a
2:03feeling that AI is going to remember
2:05everyone that used and thank you in
2:08their prompts and everyone that didn't.
2:09And I'm just saying should that day
2:11come, I want to be on the side of the
2:13robots.
2:14The thing is, you could eat McDonald's
2:17all day every day and still lose fat.
2:21Orange juice, cheeseburger one,
2:25cheeseburger two,
2:31large fries.
2:40Big Mac.
2:4820 chicken nuggets. Just shy of 2 and a
2:50half thousand calories. It's not exactly
2:52fast food, is it? Oh, and savoy.
2:55Cheers. Thank you.
2:59[ __ ] yeah.
3:01Now, the problem with consuming this for
3:03fat loss is one, I wouldn't feel that
3:05good. Two, I could smash this in one
3:07meal pretty easy. I'd be a bit
3:09uncomfortable afterwards. But if I was
3:10to make 2 and a half thousand calories
3:12of meats, vegetables, fruits, suddenly
3:14the food volume would get to the point
3:16that it'd be incredibly difficult to
3:17finish in one meal, maybe even two
3:18meals. And also, it's important to
3:20realize there's not a huge deal of
3:21nutrition in here. So, for the amount of
3:23calories I'm getting, for the amount of
3:24nutrition, it's not the best deal. Our
3:26body always has ongoing processes,
3:27whether it's muscle repair, skin
3:29regeneration, nail growth, all of these
3:31little things, and we have the
3:32opportunity to provide those things for
3:34our body with what we eat and what we
3:35drink. And picking this as a method
3:37isn't going to support that too well.
3:39It's like having a plant that you really
3:41want to grow well and putting it in the
3:42shade and not watering it enough. But
3:44one thing I can't stress enough is
3:46occasionally binging on these foods can
3:48be completely fine as long as you
3:50balance the books after. But it's not
3:52just the calories that really mess with
3:54our head. The day after we binge, we
3:56feel inclined to step on the scales and
3:58we think that all that weight we've
3:59gained is fat. But what we don't think
4:01about a lot is if we've just binged, we
4:03put a lot of food inside us.
4:08If this bin bag was to represent my
4:09stomach after binging on a big
4:11McDonald's,
4:26sometimes we can fail to realize the
4:28actual weight it is of what we've eaten.
4:30Not to mention, if that food is
4:31incredibly salty, there's a chance
4:33you're going to retain a lot of water on
4:34top of that. Not all of that weight you
4:36gain is fat, and not all of it will be
4:38turned to fat either. Even when you're
4:40weighing yourself in the morning, if you
4:42use your iPhone to take a picture of it,
4:43you're 2 kg heavier because of how much
4:46an iPhone weighs. And although this
4:48weighs quite a bit of weight, because
4:49it's McDonald's, that's only a day's
4:51worth of calories. Never mind quality of
4:53food as far as food volume, that just
4:54isn't going to be good to partner with
4:56when it comes to dieting for long
4:58periods of time. So, you can lose fat
5:00eating McDonald's, although I strongly
5:01wouldn't recommend it. So, what is the
5:03secret? the beard meets food uses to eat
5:07these kinds of foods and stay in such
5:08good shape. Oh, four hours. It's a new
5:10one. I'm his biggest fan.
5:13Hit a little like before, you know, you
5:14got to hit a little like even before.
5:16That's what I like about Adam. He tells
5:18a story. Sometimes you don't see a bit
5:20of food for 3 minutes.
5:21I wanted to do this at like 11:00
5:23a.m.ish.
5:24Likable character, isn't he?
5:26Sometimes you got to fast forward a bit.
5:27Show me the money. Show me the pancake.
5:30Show me the pancake.
5:32I don't know what the pizza cut is
5:33about. Yeah,
5:34you're hungry. Another thing you ever
5:36thought now he's beard meets food. He
5:38can't get rid of the beard. If he has a
5:39U-turn and doesn't want the beard
5:41anymore. He can't cuz then he's just
5:42needs food.
5:44You know what I mean?
5:45I don't know what it is. I just can't do
5:46it.
5:47Whoa.
5:47What? Hold on.
5:51I've never seen him fail before. Do you
5:53know what
5:58they say? Never beat your heroes. Ever
6:00heard that? He's done he's done half a
6:02million views and thought he's made
6:04thousands. He didn't. What's the point?
6:07Don't have role models. Don't aspire to
6:08be like anyone because I'm sat in a
6:10McDonald's car park at 10:00 a.m. on a
6:12Monday morning doing a video about beard
6:14meets food. Should change his channel to
6:16beard can't finish food. I could have
6:18done them pancakes easy. Easy. Would
6:22have done that. I would have eaten the
6:23plate. Fortunately for me, I found a
6:26video online that Adam made explaining
6:28exactly how he manages to eat these huge
6:30amounts of food and remain in shape. The
6:32single most important factor, and I
6:34can't stress this enough, when it comes
6:36to gaining weight or losing weight, is
6:38the amount of calories you consume over
6:40time. You can only gain weight if you
6:43eat too much chronically and
6:44consistently. And likewise, you can only
6:47lose weight if you eat too little
6:49chronically and consistently. If I was
6:51to make an educated guess, I would say
6:52you're not a professional eater. So, I'm
6:54going to explain to you how you can use
6:56those principles to help yourself when
6:57it comes to losing fat. There's an
6:59incredibly clever tactic that Adam uses
7:02when it comes to staying in shape. He's
7:04worked out how many calories roughly he
7:06needs on a daily basis, and that is
7:083,000 calories. Now, maybe if you're
7:10smaller and not quite as active, it
7:11might be less. However, if you're bigger
7:13and you might move more, it could be
7:14more. I will put a calculator in the
7:16description. Help yourself to that.
7:18Maybe do at the end of the video. Once
7:19you've got this amount, your best tactic
7:21is to times that by seven. Because once
7:24you times that by seven, you're much
7:25better working off to a weekly amount of
7:27calories that you're going to aim for.
7:28Because not all of our days are the
7:29same. We have this period of the week
7:31where things go crazy and it's called
7:32the weekend. So without him
7:34understanding his weekly amount of
7:35calories, should he do a food challenge
7:38on the first day of the week, he can
7:41just deduct it from his weekly amount of
7:43calories. And in the video, he says
7:44instead of having 3,000, he just goes
7:47down to 2,000 calories for the rest of
7:49the week, which actually, for any of you
7:50mathematicians watching, is 1,000 less
7:53calories than he would normally have cuz
7:57that is only 20,000 calories. He would
8:00actually be in a deficit. But you're not
8:02doing food challenges. You're not there
8:03conquering YouTube trying to eat the
8:05biggest burger in the shortest period of
8:07time. So, you're probably wondering how
8:08this lesson can apply to you. And I'll
8:10tell you, there are two types of people
8:12in the world. Those who let their
8:14weekends mess up their progress and
8:16psychopaths.
8:17If you're not someone that goes a bit
8:19crazy at the weekend, you remember at
8:20school when someone was crazy, they got
8:22curly hair and brushes their teeth. What
8:25you're going to do is you're going to go
8:26to the link in the description. At the
8:28end of the video, you're going to work
8:29out the rough amount of calories you
8:30need for the day. Let's guess it's 2500.
8:33Times out by seven. Now, my pedigree
8:36charm. This is all I want you to do. I
8:38want you to track your calories for a
8:39week, maybe two weeks, but you're going
8:40to start on a Friday. And all I want you
8:43to do is be honest. Friday, couple of
8:46beers off to work with the boys, maybe
8:48stuffing a Mexican burrito on the taxi
8:50home to your misses, hiccoping in the
8:52car. But barely even drunk that much.
8:55Saturday, tried to do some intermittent
8:57fasting. Held off till lunch. Had a
8:59pretty healthy lunch. But then the
9:00evening, you saw pizza. Had a few too
9:03many, but had it with a Coke Zero. Not
9:05too much damage. Sunday gone to see your
9:08parents-in-law. They cooked a roast
9:10dinner. You didn't want to be rude when
9:11your future mother-in-law said to you,
9:13"Do you want another serving of that?"
9:15I'm not here saying that's a bad thing.
9:16I'm just saying, let's see what kind of
9:18damage the weekend did. 10,400 calories
9:21for the weekend. If we deduct that from
9:2417,500, that only leaves you 7,100
9:27calories for the remainder of the week.
9:28That means that if you wanted to
9:30successfully lose fat, you would need to
9:32go down to 1775 calories for the
9:35remaining days of the weekend. The
9:36problem with this is a lot of people in
9:38the office are going to say to you,
9:39"That's not enough calories." But it is.
9:42And the reason you're eating such a
9:43small amount of calories is because the
9:44damage you did at the weekend. The issue
9:46that we see in people is they're doing
9:48the damage at the weekend and they're
9:50not making up for it during the week,
9:52which is why they are fat, gaining fat,
9:54or struggling to lose weight. You can't
9:56have your cake and eat it and everything
9:58else, you pudgy bastard. And get away
10:00with it throughout the week. You must
10:01balance the books like Adam does if you
10:04want to successfully lose fat. Now, if
10:06you don't want to eat poverty calories
10:08during the week, then you must make
10:09changes to your weekend. You must rein
10:11it in, drink less, work on portion
10:13control, push your meals back to later
10:15in the day, whatever methods you want to
10:17utilize, it's up to you. But although I
10:19look like a math teacher, I'm here
10:21giving you the knowledge that the reason
10:22Adam is in such good shape for the
10:24profession he does is because he
10:26calculates and methodically moves around
10:28calories throughout the week to make it
10:30work for him. And you need to do the
10:31same, too.
