0:00All right, dude. Let me minimize my
0:03screens and stuff. I know sometimes we
0:05got to give it a little minute.
0:09A little minute.
0:11[laughter]
0:14Girl, I look and I I keep forgetting
0:16that my face is just It's always
0:18telling, right? [laughter]
0:21I'm always forgetting that, Lord.
0:24Because the bag came halfway open. And I
0:26don't know. Like I don't know how y'all
0:29feel about putting Postits in your Bible
0:32and stuff, but these little ones are my
0:34favorite. These are my favorite. They're
0:36really, really small. They're like 2 by
0:38twos, smaller than 2 by2's. They're real
0:40small. And I like these because I make a
0:42lot of notes a lot. And so my big
0:45postits are they be all my big postit be
0:49all over my page. Like I don't know if
0:50y'all can see that, but it just And I
0:52don't like the transparent ones. I have
0:54those. I don't like those. And so I like
0:57the little ones and I was trying to see
0:58if my stuff was open because I was going
1:01to have to send it back. Amazon be
1:02playing like they be playing too much.
1:06And as a a note taker, we can't be
1:09playing. Okay. [laughter]
1:13Keep playing. My god on today. All right
1:15everybody. Okay. Be tripping sometime.
1:18You know they be jacking up my stuff. So
1:19I had to you know WHAT I'M SAYING Y'ALL.
1:22OKAY Y'ALL. So hello everybody. If you
1:26are new, welcome, welcome, welcome. How
1:27y'all doing? To all of my OG's.
1:31It's so crazy to call y'all the
1:32original.
1:34[laughter]
1:36My OG stamp or original gangster. Can't
1:38be calling y'all that. Find something
1:40else like
1:42I don't know y'all. We got to do
1:43something else cuz look, I don't know if
1:44we can be saying all that. Yeah.
1:46[laughter]
1:47But if you are back, hello. Hello y'all.
1:50I do not like this bi-weekly thing cuz I
1:55be reading so much and I'm like I want
1:57y'all in on everything that I'm studying
1:59and reading. Like we still in Genesis,
2:02but I'm I'm way far off. I'm in the
2:04Bible and other places. I'm just all
2:05over the place. I don't like this. But
2:07y'all, once
2:10my class is over, once this class series
2:12is over, we can get back to weekly. But
2:15I got to get this class series over
2:17with. and the class series is great. So,
2:20you know, I'm having fun with that, too,
2:21because I love teaching. If y'all can't
2:23tell, I love teaching. So,
2:25[clears throat] you know, I love
2:26teaching the word of God, but I
2:27absolutely love counseling and
2:29psychology as well. So, you know, I need
2:32some balance right there. I got to keep
2:34my skills sharp as well, especially from
2:36being on a break from counseling for so
2:38for such
2:40since October.
2:42I don't even I think it's been longer
2:43than that in May. I think maybe October.
2:46Maybe something like that. [laughter]
2:48I'mma get back to weekly. All right,
2:50Kenya, don't be coming here and getting
2:52on my case. I see you. She said we voted
2:53weekly, but you told us no. Just let me,
2:55you know, y'all work with me here, okay?
2:58Just
3:00work with me, y'all. Okay? Cuz y'all, if
3:02y'all can't tell, I study study. Like, I
3:04don't just read a scripture and then be
3:06like, "That's it. I'm about to guess
3:08something." Like, just the same way that
3:09y'all pastors will go a whole week of
3:11study. Sometimes two weeks. I do the
3:14same thing. I go usually more than a
3:16week, but I go a week usually deeply of
3:19studying. I like to like piece it and
3:20then I have to go all throughout the
3:22text and find parallel and supporting
3:24scriptures, especially when it comes to
3:26Genesis. We got to do that cuz the first
3:29gospel is in Genesis and Jesus is all
3:33throughout Genesis. And I like to make
3:35sure that I'm able to tell y'all exactly
3:37where he is. Like where are the hints of
3:39the Messiah? There it is. There it is.
3:41Cuz y'all know how God is. God is clever
3:44with them words, man. You gotta really
3:45pay attention. All right. [laughter]
3:48So, I hope everybody's been good. Um Oh,
3:51baby. What is your name? Alexander.
3:56It's not Danielle. Oh, I I saw your I
3:59saw your email from last week. Um from
4:03the last two weeks, the last Bible
4:04study. I said I was going to reach out
4:06to you. I never got an email from you,
4:08but I saw you forwarded me the email on
4:10the 13th. I was looking for the email
4:11that same night, but I saw your name. I
4:14saw your emails yesterday cuz baby, you
4:16sent them back and forth. I was like,
4:17"Hold on, sugar. I see them. [laughter]
4:19I saw your email. You know who I'm
4:21talking about. I wanted to talk to you
4:24two weeks ago, but it's okay. I'm going
4:26to respond to that email, but I just saw
4:28yesterday and it's just been a chaotic
4:30two days for me." Okay. So, I'm going to
4:32get back to you. I saw you wrote in
4:33here. I think you said something about
4:35your Achilles. I think you said your
4:36baby was sick. You said you were going
4:38to try to worship and dance. And that's
4:40okay. But you know who you who I'm
4:42talking about. So I haven't forgot about
4:44you. I saw your name and I saw your
4:45email. I'm going to get back to you.
4:47Okay.
4:49Okay. Oh, you got friends that's on
4:51YouTube. Hey friends. Tanya Hughes. Hey
4:54friends of Tanya Hughes. [laughter]
4:57Hello. Okay y'all. So before we even get
5:00into prayer, let me go ahead and say
5:02this first. Okay. I know that there are
5:05many of you because I see you all's DMs
5:08now. I can't respond to everybody,
5:10but I see y'all DMs, okay? And I know
5:14that some of you all are not confident
5:16in your prayers, okay? I do not want you
5:20all to wait and rely on me to pray. I
5:23want you all to find your own voice. I
5:26don't want you all to wait and rely on
5:27me to study. I want you all to be in
5:30deep communion with God. Okay? You have
5:34to build that type of habit for it to
5:38for you to become seasoned in it. Like I
5:40tell everybody, if you struggle with
5:42prayer, take a scripture. Okay? Take a
5:45scripture. Take one scripture. Um got
5:48like three bobs around me, but just take
5:49a scripture. It can be anywhere in the
5:51Old Testament or New. I love Isaiah. I
5:55love Hebrews. I love Deuteronomy as
5:57well. Um, I love Proverbs, of course,
6:01Psalms, Songs of Solomon for marriages
6:03and things like that. I love Galatians.
6:06And, you know, I love all of I love
6:08almost every book. It's about two of
6:10them that I be trying to stay away from,
6:11but y'all get what I'm saying. But take
6:13a scripture and just read one over and
6:15over and over again and pray on that
6:18scripture. When I'm anointing my home,
6:21when I'm anointing my children, anything
6:22like that, I'll take a scripture and
6:24I'll meditate and I'll read. eat. And
6:26I'm not talking about meditate that
6:27witchcraft stuff. I ain't talking about
6:28that. I will constantly go over and
6:30receive what it is that I'm reading and
6:32I will pray from that scripture. So if
6:34I'm praying for safety, I will pray from
6:35safety from that scripture. And then
6:37from there, there will be an overflow
6:39that starts to happen. I'll start
6:40connecting the things that I need safety
6:42with. And I'll just flow from that.
6:44Safety of my friends, safety of my
6:46children. So find your scripture. Get
6:48comfortable. You don't have to sound
6:50like everybody else. Okay? I know how
6:53that is. I know how it is to be
6:55intimidated by prayer warriors and
6:57intercessors and stuff and people
6:59speaking in tongues. I know that that
7:01can be extremely intimidating if you
7:03were not raised in that. It can be
7:04intimidating. Don't be intimidated by
7:06it. You have your own voice and God
7:08knows your voice. That's all that
7:09matters.
7:10God knows your voice. If God make it
7:14plain, start praying over your food and
7:16not just saying, "Father God, thank you
7:18for the food that I'm receiving for the
7:19nourishment of my body." Don't keep
7:22praying [laughter] if it's just you and
7:25your food. Father God, thank you for the
7:27food in which I'm receiving for the
7:28nourishment of my body. Father God,
7:30thank you for supplying the needs of
7:32those who have been without. Just let it
7:33flow, okay? And eventually you'll start
7:36getting to where, oh, I'm praying now
7:38for 2 minutes. I'm praying for 3
7:40minutes. I'm praying for 10 minutes. I
7:42prayed for an hour. Eventually, you'll
7:44get to that place, but you got to
7:45practice. Okay? Okay. So, I wanted to
7:47make sure that I say that. Okay. I
7:50wanted to make sure that I let with that
7:51get into your word. This is your armor.
7:54The easiest way for the enemy to get to
7:56you is when you are not covered. Okay?
7:59When you are not covered by the word of
8:01God, when you are just running away from
8:02the word of God, he can get to you.
8:04That's when he can influence the most
8:06doubt. You need your armor. Okay? So,
8:09stay in your word. I don't care if you
8:12like, Kitty, I ain't been having it in
8:14me, baby. If you can read two sentences,
8:16that's good.
8:18That's all it need. That's all you need
8:19is two sentences. Just read the two. If
8:22you struggling, read it even when you're
8:23mad, baby. Okay? This is the reason why
8:25we take a Bible with us everywhere.
8:28Okay? This is the reason why we got a
8:29little Bible with us everywhere. Okay?
8:32[laughter]
8:32Okay? So, I want you all to be
8:34confident. I don't want anyone to be
8:35intimidated. This is our Bible study.
8:38Okay? I may be leading this Bible study,
8:40but this is God assigned. This is God
8:42ordained. This belongs to all of us. and
8:44we are utilizing this together and we
8:46are all learning together as we go.
8:49Okay, so I want to make sure I say that.
8:51Okay, I hope everyone has had an amazing
8:53week. Uh before we pray, we're going to
8:56be in Genesis chapter 3:es
8:591-15. Genesis chapter 3:es 1-15. As much
9:03as I wanted to go through all of chapter
9:053 today because there are so there's so
9:08much we got to cover in the first 15
9:11verses. I could have stopped at seven,
9:13but there's so much that we have to
9:15cover. There's so much that we have to
9:18cover. So, we're going to read it up to
9:2015. Okay? You can continue reading
9:22Genesis on your own time. I encourage
9:24you to do so. Okay? We're studying this
9:27the way that we're studying this because
9:28we need to bring it all together. Okay?
9:30We're going to make the Bible plain as
9:32plain as we can. Okay? So, we're
9:34bringing all of this together. And the
9:36end goal,
9:38the end goal for me is to help you
9:40better understand who the Messiah is,
9:41who Jesus Christ is, and why Jesus had
9:44to come and save us to begin with. Okay?
9:47That's my whole purpose is to help you
9:49grow closer to God, but to learn and
9:51know who the Messiah is. It's so
9:54important that you do. A lot of people
9:56read the Old Testament and they don't
9:58retain nothing.
10:01They don't retain nothing. I used to be
10:04that person when I was younger. I would
10:06read that Bible through. I'll be sitting
10:07in church. I'll be like, "Yeah, that's
10:08good." And wouldn't retain nothing.
10:10Y'all ever went to church, the pastor
10:12was preaching a good word and then you
10:13got home and said, "I forgot what he
10:15said." Because you ain't take no notes
10:16or none of that. [laughter]
10:18You just sat in church like, "Go ahead
10:20then, pastor.
10:22You just did that. Y'all know what I'm
10:24talking about." Okay. Bishop said on
10:26Sunday at church, he said he he said the
10:29same thing I be saying. I don't care how
10:31fast you can read the Bible. If the
10:33Bible has not read you, don't talk to me
10:37about reading it until the Bible has
10:39read you [laughter]
10:42all the way through. Okay? Cuz if by now
10:45if I studying in Exodus and Genesis, God
10:48ain't read you yet, I I must be doing
10:51something wrong. Lord, you have to help
10:52me on it. But until the Bible reads you,
10:55I'm not gonna tell y'all anything. I'm
10:57not going to run with that. Hey, let's
11:00read the Bible in 365 days and nine
11:02months. I don't care about none of that.
11:04Let's study the word of God because
11:05there are so many gems in the word of
11:07God and there's a lot of hidden things
11:08that you'll miss.
11:11But the word is alive, right?
11:13Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay. So,
11:16Genesis,
11:17excuse me, y'all chapter 3:es
11:201-5. The title is the promise hidden in
11:23the curse.
11:25The promise hidden
11:28in the curse. The title is the promise
11:32hidden
11:34in the curse. Amen. It's going to be a
11:37good study. The promise hidden in the
11:40curse. I'm going to go ahead and get
11:41prayer started and then we are going to
11:45I'm going to be reading out of KJV and
11:47NLT. Uh primarily KJV. I just like to
11:51read the Old Testament in KJV. I know
11:54the old I know reading KJV can be
11:55intimidating too, but I prefer to read
11:58the Old Testament because it has not
12:00been modernized
12:02and it has not been washed and diluted.
12:06I don't Okay, y'all know how I feel.
12:10[clears throat]
12:10King James, New King James, and NLT are
12:13my favorites. When I want to be a little
12:15gangster, I'mma read the message Bible.
12:17When I want to get smacked in my face,
12:18I'll read the message. Okay. Passion
12:21translation. When I really just want to
12:22break it down simple, okay? That's just
12:25the way that I flow. Okay. All right.
12:28Father God, we thank you for bringing us
12:29together, Father God, to fellowship
12:31under your name, God. I'm asking in this
12:34moment, Father God, that whatever it is
12:35that we receive, Father God, whatever it
12:37is that we read and we interpret, Father
12:39God, that you lay it in our hearts that
12:40it may stay with us on this journey,
12:43Father God. In this moment right now,
12:46Father God, we come to you with
12:47gratitude, God. We thank you for this
12:49fellowship. We thank you for holding us.
12:52We thank you for security and safety,
12:54Father God. We thank you for ordering
12:55our steps. We thank you for guiding us
12:58in such a treacherous time, Father God.
13:00And we look to the heels, Father God,
13:02whenever we need help, whenever we need
13:04strength, Father God. So those in this
13:05room right now, Father God, who are
13:07leaning, Father God, in a place of their
13:09own understanding, Father God, I ask
13:11that you make yourself visible, Father
13:13God, that they may receive an
13:14understanding. That they may receive
13:16wisdom and guidance from you, Father
13:18God. That they may hear your voice,
13:20Father God, even in the moments where it
13:22feels like they don't know where you are
13:24and they feel like they are absent of
13:25you, Father God. Make your presence
13:27known, Father God. And I take the time
13:29right now, Father God, as I lead in this
13:32Bible study, Father God, that you give
13:33me clarity, God, and you give me an
13:35understanding as well, Father God.
13:37Whatever distractions that the enemy may
13:39try to present in this room right now,
13:40Father God, I ask that you cast those
13:42distractions out, Father God. Whatever
13:44is weighty in this moment, Father God,
13:46that is trying to prevent us from
13:47receiving the word of God, I ask that
13:49you remove and release that weight,
13:51Father God. Allow our hearts to be
13:53tender, Father God, and receptive to the
13:55word, Father God, knowing that it is
13:57alive and well. Allow that word to
13:59flourish and blossom within us as well,
14:02Father God. So, I take the time right
14:03now, Father God, to extend my love to
14:05everyone in this room, Father God, as a
14:07sister in Christ, Father God, in
14:09reverence to you as well, Father God,
14:11with the fear and the knowledge of who
14:12you are, God. And so, I want to take
14:14this time to tell you that I love you
14:16and I honor you and I worship you. In a
14:18mighty and matchless name we pray. Amen.
14:21All right, [clears throat] y'all. Let's
14:21get into the word of God.
14:26Woo! I love the Lord. Let's get into the
14:29word of God.
14:30That promise that was hidden in that
14:32curse, we got to find it today. I got on
14:35my Inspector Gadget word today.
14:38If y'all do, I play a lot. So, if y'all
14:41want somebody for this, I'm probably not
14:42the person cuz I I play too much. All
14:44right. We got to make it playful
14:46sometimes. It can get it can get a
14:47little heavy. Okay. All right. Let's
14:50talk about the fall.
14:52Let's talk about the fall. Have has
14:54everyone read Genesis 3 before? Has
14:57everyone read Genesis 3 before?
15:00No. Yes. Okay. Okay. It's okay if you
15:04haven't. Good. We here. If you have,
15:07good. We back here. It's absolutely okay
15:09if you have not. I know a lot of people,
15:12they read it and they say, "Oh, man,
15:14just sin." But wow, is it so much more
15:16than that. We want to understand the
15:18pattern of sin. So as we read further in
15:20the word of God in the times
15:22[clears throat] of Noah and after,
15:24you'll understand God's anger. You'll
15:27better understand his anger. A lot of I
15:30always say this all the time. A lot of
15:31people think that God is a monster. He's
15:32not a monster. It's not the God I serve.
15:35He's not a monster. Anger was righteous.
15:38Okay, warranted. Okay, so man falls. Now
15:42the serpent was more subtle than any
15:45beast of the field which the Lord God
15:47had made. And he said unto the woman,
15:49"Ya had God said, Ye shall not eat of
15:53every tree of the garden." And the woman
15:55said unto the serpent, "We may eat of
15:58the fruit of the trees of the garden,
15:59but of the fruit of the tree which is in
16:01the midst of the garden, God had said,
16:03Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye
16:05touch it, lest ye die." I'm reading King
16:07James version. Y'all going to go to NLT.
16:09Okay? Y'all don't got to worry about
16:10that. Don't get mad at me. Okay? And the
16:12serpent said unto the woman, "Ye shall
16:14not surely die, for God do not know the
16:17day, and ye eat thereof. Then your eyes
16:19shall be open, and ye shall be as gods,
16:21knowing good and evil." And when the
16:24woman saw that the tree was good for
16:25food, and that it was pleasant to the
16:27eyes, and the tree to be desired to make
16:29one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,
16:32and did eat, and gave also unto her
16:34husband with her, and he did eat. Okay,
16:38just work with me. I know King James is
16:40a lot. Just work with me, okay? We going
16:42to flow. And the eyes of them were both
16:44opened, and they knew that they were
16:46naked. And they sewed fig leaves
16:48together and made themselves aprons. And
16:51they heard the voice of the Lord God
16:53walking
16:55in the garden in the cool of the day.
16:57And [clears throat] Adam and his wife
16:58hid themselves from the presence of the
17:00Lord God amongst the trees of the
17:01garden. And the Lord God called unto
17:04Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
17:08H. And he said, I heard thy voice in the
17:11garden, and I was afraid because I was
17:13naked, and I hid myself. And he said,
17:17Who told thee that thou was naked? Hast
17:20thou eaten of the tree whereof I
17:22commanded thee that thou shouldest not
17:24eat?
17:25And the man said, The woman whom thou
17:28gavest to me, who thou gavest to be with
17:31me, sorry, she gave me of the tree, and
17:34I did eat. And the Lord God said unto
17:36the woman, "What is this that thou hast
17:39done?" And the woman said, "The serpent
17:41begilled me or beg, however y'all want
17:43to pronounce it, begouted me, and I did
17:46eat." And the Lord God said unto the
17:49serpent, because thou hast done this,
17:51thou art cursed
17:53above all cattle, and above every beast
17:55of the field. Upon thy belly shalt thou
17:58go upon thy belly shalt thou go on your
18:01stomach. That's the most humiliating
18:04position you can be in. Okay.
18:06And dust shalt thou eat all the days of
18:09thy life. Be on your belly and eat dust.
18:13And I will put enmity,
18:16that's a big word. We're going to talk
18:18about that. Between thee and the woman,
18:22between thee and the woman, and between
18:25thy seed, singular, and between thy
18:29seed, singular, and her seed.
18:33We've been nosy since the beginning of
18:34the time. [laughter]
18:36It shall bruise thy head and thou shalt
18:38bruise his heel. All right, that's King
18:40James version. Now, let's make it plain
18:41for a second and then we going to go
18:43over some key terms and then we going to
18:45get into the word of God. We're going to
18:48go over some key terms. Okay, we're
18:50going to go over some key terms. Now,
18:51I'mma read it quickly in NLT because I
18:53know some people like that King James is
18:55a lot. All right. The serpent was the
18:57shudest of all the wild animals. the
18:59shrewest of all the wild animals in the
19:01Lord God had made. One day he asked the
19:03woman, "Did God really say you must not
19:05eat the tree?" Sorry, eat the fruit from
19:08any of the trees in the garden. Of
19:10course, we may eat fruit from the trees
19:12in the garden. The woman replied, "It's
19:14only the fruit from the tree in the
19:15middle of the garden that we are not
19:17allowed to eat." God said, "You must not
19:19eat it or even touch it. If you do, you
19:22will die."
19:25You won't die," the serpent replied to
19:28the woman. "God knows that your eyes
19:30will be open as soon as you eat it, and
19:32you'll be like God, knowing both good
19:34and evil." The woman was convinced.
19:37She was convinced, y'all. My God. She
19:40saw that the tree was beautiful and its
19:42fruit looked delicious,
19:44and she wanted the wisdom it would give
19:46her. So, she took some of the fruit and
19:48ate it. Then she gave some to her
19:50husband who was with her and he ate it
19:54too. Mhm. In that moment their eyes were
19:57open and they suddenly felt shame at
20:00their nakedness. So they sowed fig
20:02leaves together to cover themselves.
20:05When the cool evening breezes were
20:07blowing, the man and his wife heard the
20:08Lord God walking about in the garden. So
20:12they hid from the Lord God among the
20:14trees. Then the Lord God called the man,
20:16"Where are you? Where art thou?" Okay.
20:19He replied, "I heard you walking in the
20:22garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I
20:24was naked." "Who told you that you were
20:27naked?" The Lord God asked, "Have you
20:29eaten from the tree whose fruit I
20:31commanded you not to eat?" The man
20:33replied, "It was the woman you gave me
20:36who gave me the fruit, and I ate it."
20:40Mhm.
20:42It was a woman you gave me. Okay. Then
20:45the Lord asked the woman, "What have you
20:47done?" The serpent deceived me. She
20:50replied, "That's why I ate it." Then the
20:53Lord God said to the serpent, "Because
20:55you have done this, you are cursed more
20:58than all animals domestic and wild, you
21:00will crawl on your belly, growling in
21:03the dust as long as you live. And I will
21:05cause hostility between you and the
21:08woman, and between your offspring and
21:11her offspring. He will strike your head
21:13and you will strike his heel. Okay, now
21:16let's get into some key terms. Let's get
21:17into this because I want y'all to
21:18understand why I led with King James
21:20version. There is some important text in
21:22King James version that as you all can
21:24see, it is diluted in NLT.
21:28It is diluted in NLT. There are certain
21:31terms that we have to make sure that we
21:33give respect to that will open up our
21:35eyes to the coming Messiah. Okay? But if
21:40you read NLT or NIV or ESV or any of the
21:45other translations, they have probably
21:47watered it down.
21:49Okay, we're in Genesis 3:es 1-15. Let's
21:53go. Key terms. N KJV. The first word you
21:56see is subtle. It is spelled S U B T I
21:59L. It is spelled S U B T I L. That is
22:03the first word that you see is
22:05something. Let me move this out the way,
22:06y'all. Okay. It means crafty,
22:10treacherous, shrewd, strategic or
22:14calculating.
22:17In the word of God, it said, "Now the
22:19serpent was more subtle, was more
22:22crafty, was more treacherous, was more
22:25shrewd, was more strategic, was more
22:28calculating
22:29than any beast of the field."
22:32Okay.
22:34Now, further down, which I'm going to
22:37pull it up first because we didn't we're
22:39not going to see this until the next
22:40study, but I want y'all to understand
22:41the word sorrow, too. So, just write it
22:43down because the next study we're going
22:44to talk about sorrow. The word sorrow,
22:46just write it down, okay? Painful toll,
22:51mental anguish,
22:53distress,
22:54hardship, and emotional grief. Just
22:57write it down because I changed my mind
22:59of reading all of three. Okay. Now,
23:02serpent. Now, a lot of times people have
23:04read serpent and they've read fruit and
23:06they thought that it was an apple and
23:08they just came up with all kinds of
23:09things. Serpent in this text, okay, in
23:12all of the texts, okay, when we talk
23:14about Satan, a highly intelligent,
23:17cunning, a highly intelligent, he ain't
23:19dumb.
23:21In order for you to be calculating, you
23:23got to be intelligent. a highly
23:25intelligent, cunning, and deceptive
23:28creature in the Garden of Eden that
23:31tempts Eve to disobey God.
23:36Now, in Revelation,
23:38if you go to Revelation 20
23:41verse two, the serpent refers directly
23:45to Satan. If you go back to Revelation
23:47all the way at the end, we going from
23:49the beginning to the end. If you go to
23:51Revelation, that is when it says the
23:53serpent is Satan.
23:56Satan was defined as the old or ancient
23:58serpent. Okay?
24:02So, he was the same deceitful in all of
24:04the book, all of the Bible, he is the
24:06same deceitful entity from the Garden of
24:08Eden. Okay? Enone say that enmity.
24:13Enmity. Have you want to say it? Enmity.
24:16Now, this is a deep hatred. I remember
24:18the first time I learned this word, I
24:20was a little girl and that I learned
24:22envy and enmity because my mom used to
24:23make me read dictionaries and it was a I
24:28always remembered it as a deep hatred.
24:31It is an ordained
24:33deepseated
24:35hostility,
24:37animosity or intense hatred. That's the
24:41word. Okay, now let's flow. All right,
24:44let's talk about this revelation. Mhm.
24:47[clears throat]
24:48Revelation 20. Is it verse 20?
24:53Is Revelation verse 20? Oh, wait. That's
24:56too much going on right there. That's my
24:58concordance. Hold on. Want to make sure
25:00I give y'all the right I think it's
25:02verse 20. Is it verse 20? Was it Was it
25:05verse 20?
25:10I think that's I that's all. Hold on. I
25:13should have put a sticky note right
25:14there.
25:21Yeah. Yeah. I know I wasn't tripping.
25:22Yeah, y'all hear me off a little bit.
25:24I'm like, I know I ain't tripping. Okay,
25:26let's get ready to highlight. All right,
25:27so in chapter 3, verse one, highlight
25:31subtle.
25:33Highlight subtle.
25:35In verse two, go down and highlight
25:37serpent.
25:39Okay, highlight serpent in verse two.
25:43Okay. In verse three, you're going to
25:45highlight a statement. Okay. Ye shall
25:48not eat of it, neither shall ye touch
25:50it, lest ye die. That's King James
25:52version. So in verse three, 3B, the
25:56second end of that verse. Ye shall not
25:58eat of it.
25:59What Eve is saying, highlight that.
26:01That's important. Ye shall not eat of
26:04it, neither shall you touch it, lest ye
26:06die. Okay, highlight that.
26:10Got that? Okay, go down to verse 12
26:16and highlight where Adam says, "The
26:19woman whom thou gavest to be with me,
26:21she gave me of the tree, and I did eat."
26:24Whatever your translation says.
26:29Go down to verse 13 and highlight Eve's
26:32response to God. The serpent begaled me
26:36and I did eat. Begal, be have y'all
26:39said. Verse 15 is where you say where
26:41you see enmity.
26:45Take it down. All right. Now, let's talk
26:47because it's the next the next one is
26:49going to be a whole lot of highlighting
26:50y'all the next Bible study. Okay. So,
26:52let's talk about the anatomy of
26:53temptation first.
26:56What did we see happening there? The
26:59enemy is clever. He is calculated and he
27:02is strategic. He did not come right in
27:06and say and point at the tree and say,
27:07"Did God tell you not to eat from that
27:09tree?" He didn't do that. He used word
27:11play. It said he was subtle. He's
27:14tricky. He's conniving. He's deceptive.
27:17So, what he did was use word play first.
27:20Have y'all ever heard Have y'all ever
27:21been gas lit? Anybody in here ever
27:25been gas lit and a person uses word play
27:29and it makes you think? It makes you
27:31think like,
27:33am I tripping? Y'all ever had that? So
27:37that's what the enemy did. He used word
27:38play and that was the way he was able to
27:41manipulate Eve. And he knew to go to
27:43Eve,
27:45not because she was less than Adam. I'm
27:46going to tell you why. We going to get
27:48to that. What the enemy is going to do,
27:50what he does, even to this day. Excuse
27:52me y'all. I don't know why I'm belching
27:53again.
27:56What the enemy what he loves to do which
27:59is why a lot of people have such a hate
28:00towards God. He loves to accuse God's
28:03character.
28:05He loves to do that. If he can distort
28:06the word of God, if he can distort the
28:09truth, then he then can slander and
28:12accuse God's character. The first time
28:14that we see slander in the word of God
28:16is right here in Genesis 3 where the
28:19enemy is outright lying and trying to
28:21present God to be something that he's
28:23not. first time we see it, right? This
28:26is the reason why God don't like
28:27slander. This is the re reason why the
28:29word of God speaks against slander
28:31because it's deceptive. Okay? It's
28:34divisive. Y'all don't like that. Okay? I
28:37don't have [laughter] my water. I'm okay
28:39though. Okay? So, the temptation began
28:43with questioning God's word. Did God
28:46really say that? That's where the
28:48temptation was. And so, that's how the
28:50enemy gets to us as well. That's the
28:52reason why we have to guard our brains.
28:54And that's the reason why we have to
28:55constantly read the word of God. Guard
28:57our hearts, guard our minds, because the
28:59enemy knows if I can get in your head,
29:03if I can make you start questioning the
29:06word of God, I got you.
29:09Did God really say that? That's just
29:12like a person who gaslights you and say,
29:13"Did I did I really say that? Did I
29:15really do that?" And now you trying to
29:18recall. You like, "Matter of fact, I
29:20don't
29:22I don't I don't even know if you really
29:24did that. I don't have anything to back
29:25up what I'm saying right now. This the
29:28reason why we have to be strong in the
29:29word of God. Okay. So, what he did was
29:31he began with questioning God's word and
29:34the truth of God's word. Satan basically
29:37took God's command and he just reframed
29:40it. That's it.
29:42Which is what he's good at doing. We
29:44know when we talk about spiritual
29:46manipulation, the pastors and people who
29:49are spiritual abusive, they do the same
29:50thing, right? He perverted. I like the
29:52way you said that. God said you may
29:55freely eat of every tree
29:58but one.
30:00God said you have the abundantly all the
30:04fruit, everything that you need. It's in
30:06the garden. You can eat of everything.
30:07Just don't touch that tree. If God is
30:10saying, hey, you can eat of every tree.
30:12Just don't touch that one. Cuz if you
30:14what? Not don't touch that one. Don't
30:15eat from that one. Sorry y'all. Don't
30:17eat from that one. Because if you eat
30:19from that one, like you can look at it.
30:20It's beautiful. But if you eat from that
30:22tree right there, you'll die.
30:27God said, "Just don't eat from that
30:28tree." But you have abundance
30:32all through this garden. They had the
30:34perfect life. There was no toil or
30:37anything. They were good. They had the
30:39perfect It was a mist that came from the
30:42bottom.
30:43And everything sprouted from that mist.
30:46Like they were good, y'all. They had
30:48abundance.
30:50God say you may freely eat of every tree
30:52but one.
30:55And Satan said,
30:57did God say you can't eat of every tree?
31:00Is that what he said? And y'all know
31:04we're going to get to what Eve said cuz
31:05she didn't she a she couldn't even
31:06recall.
31:08So it was this tactic from the subtle
31:10serpent that we talked about. this
31:11tactic that caused Eve's attention to
31:13now focus on one tree. Is that not what
31:15the enemy does to us? He gets in our
31:18head. He uses word play and he makes us
31:20focus on the one thing that God is
31:22trying to rescue us from. And God tells
31:23us, "Do not mess with that. Don't go
31:25back to it. Don't turn and look at it.
31:27Don't do none of that." And then the
31:29enemy comes in and says, "Well," and it
31:33turns our attention and our focus to
31:35what we ain't supposed to be tapping
31:37into.
31:38So that was a tactic that he used with
31:40Eve. He turned her attention and her
31:43focus to one tree and he made what God
31:46said seem like now there's a
31:48restriction. So now it looks like God's
31:51a hypocrite. It looks like God is
31:52stingy. It looks like God is a liar.
31:55Why won't he let me eat from all the
31:57trees? Why can't why you restricting me
32:00from that one tree?
32:02That's how the enemy turned it. cuz now
32:04she's turning her focus and she's like,
32:06"Why can't we eat from that tree? That's
32:08what he wanted." Right now it doesn't
32:10look like the God of abundance and the
32:12given God that we know. Right? So this
32:14tactic was made out to show or to prove
32:19to Eve, a lie that God was a limiting
32:22God. We know that God's not a limiting
32:25God instead of the abundant God that we
32:27know. Mhm. Instead of that, God had
32:31given them everything. How greedy can
32:33you be? God had given them everything.
32:36But the enemy made it about one thing
32:38that they could not have.
32:41And I know that a lot of us have been in
32:43a situation like that before where God
32:45has given us everything. But the one
32:47thing we can't have, then the enemy
32:49makes us focus on that one thing. Then
32:52we start saying, "Well, God, don't you
32:54love me? Why I can't have that? Won't
32:56you give me the desires of my heart?"
32:58Which is not that ain't what he said,
33:00but I'm just saying. Why won't you give
33:02me the desires of my heart instead of us
33:04acknowledging that he's given us
33:06everything, but this one thing is off
33:08limits?
33:10I hope y'all follow me cuz we going to
33:11get deeper into it. We got we got some
33:13time to go. Y'all rock with me. Okay.
33:15So, it was this tactic that redirected
33:18Eve's attention to the forbidden tree
33:21and subtly portrayed God as limiting
33:25instead of generous. Okay. Now, if we go
33:29back to Genesis chapter 2, verse 17,
33:33y'all, we were just there.
33:36God said, "But of the tree of the
33:38knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt
33:40not eat of it. For in the day that thou
33:42eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die."
33:45God said, "Don't eat from that tree."
33:48Thank you, April. God said, "Do not eat
33:52from that tree." Then Eve comes back in
33:57chapter 3:3 and said, "God said not to
34:00eat of the tree nor touch the tree." And
34:02Satan said, "Hold on, there we go. You
34:05can't even recall God's command." That's
34:08why he didn't go to Adam cuz Adam had
34:10the the command that was directly given
34:13to him. So, he knew it. It was directly
34:16given to him. Eve didn't have the
34:18confidence.
34:20Poor recall. Eve, come on. She just
34:22messed it all up just doing stuff.
34:25Anybody got some beef with Eve? I got
34:26beef with Eve. I've always had beef with
34:28her. Me and her got a real issue,
34:30especially as a woman. She said God said
34:32don't eat of it nor touch it. And Satan
34:34said
34:36got her.
34:39God never said not to touch the tree. He
34:42never said not to touch the tree. So the
34:44enemy used her poor recall
34:47and her lacking confidence, her lack of
34:49confidence in God's word. and he knew
34:52exactly how to attack her mind. This is
34:54the reason why we have to keep our heads
34:57in the word of God. So the same way the
35:00enemy tried to use scripture in the New
35:03Testament, he's not going to be able to
35:04do that to us. If you know the word of
35:06God, he can't shake your confident if
35:09you are confident in the word of God.
35:10This is the reason why we study the word
35:12of God. Know it
35:15so he can't get to you cuz he knows
35:18exactly who to get to. Satan is paying
35:21attention. He's paying attention. He
35:22know who ain't in their word.
35:24He know who ain't living Christ life. He
35:27know who don't follow the commands. He's
35:29watching it. So, he used her poor recall
35:31in her lack of confidence in God's word.
35:32He knew how to attack her mind. Okay.
35:35So, the distortion that we see in the
35:37word of God in Genesis 3 doesn't start
35:40off with the serpent. It it don't come
35:43only from the serpent. It came from Eve
35:47misremembering or adding to God's word.
35:50That's where it started. You would have
35:52started the word first. You changed it.
35:54GOD DID NOT SAY NOT TO TOUCH that tree.
35:58[laughter]
36:00It It just came from her adding to God's
36:03word. And God said this, "No, he
36:05didn't."
36:07M
36:08so when the word becomes slightly
36:10altered the word once the word becomes
36:13slightly altered now we see there's her
36:16weak point if the word becomes altered
36:19our confidence would become weakened
36:22that's the flow
36:25so what exactly was it that the enemy
36:27did first he exploited her weakness
36:30he exploited the fact that she altered
36:33the word of God and she couldn't
36:34remember it exploited did that first.
36:38That was his initial attack. He's
36:39tackful. He exploited her
36:43and he exploited her in certainty. She
36:45wasn't certain of what the word was, of
36:47what God's command was. Okay?
36:50I'm bashing Eve and Adam. I'm bashing
36:53them both of them. I'm bashing both. I
36:55got a real problem with Eve for my own
36:57reason. You know, I'm a woman, so I got
36:59I got my own issue with her. Okay? It's
37:01a little jokey joke. Ain't no harm. No
37:03foul, no heart.
37:06But I'm a woman, so me and her got a
37:07real issue. Okay.
37:10Verse four says, "You shall not surely
37:13die." That's what the serpent said. "You
37:15you shall not surely die."
37:19So now the serpent moves from what's
37:21simply a suggestion to open
37:23contradiction. Now wait a minute. But
37:25God said, "I will die." You You won't
37:27surely die.
37:29That's That's not how it goes.
37:31He directly opposes God's statement.
37:36So now to Eve, it appears that God ain't
37:38telling the truth.
37:40It appears that God's a liar. It appears
37:43that God is a hypocrite.
37:49This moment right here in Genesis 3
37:53makes God appear to be unreliable.
37:59Doesn't the enemy like to do that to us?
38:00believers. He likes to make us think
38:02that God is not reliable. But if God
38:04loves you, why you broke? If you got If
38:07God loves you, why you going through
38:09financial problems? If God loves you,
38:11why did that person die?
38:14He likes us to believe that God is
38:16unreliable
38:18and to believe that God is deceptive.
38:21Same old tricks. Same serpent, same
38:24serpent, same tricks.
38:27He the same all the way around. Okay.
38:30Mhm. So what Satan did, which is what he
38:33always does, and I'm about to make that
38:34I'm about to make that practical. Excuse
38:36me. I'm belching a lot. What Satan does,
38:39which is what he always does, is he
38:42minimizes the consequence of sin,
38:46you won't surely die.
38:49You won't surely go to hell.
38:52You He minimizes the impact of what the
38:56consequence is going to be from the sin
38:58that you commit. He always reduces the
39:01perceived cost and exaggerates the
39:04perceived benefit. You can have it all.
39:07You're just going you're just going to
39:08lose a little one thing, but you can
39:10have everything else. You can you can
39:12sleep with that person.
39:14It's not it's not going to be that bad,
39:16but at least you got some comfort. At
39:18least you're not lonely anymore. You can
39:20have all the riches in the world. You
39:23just got to give up something. You may
39:25get in a little trouble, but at least
39:27you can have it all. Exactly. It's
39:29always a cost to pay and he likes to
39:33reduce the perceived cost and exaggerate
39:35the benefit. So he told Eve basically,
39:37you're going to be like God. You're
39:40going to have this divine wisdom.
39:43You're going to be free from having to
39:45be dependent of God. So you won't surely
39:48die. Maybe a little chance, but it may
39:52come a little later, but at least you'll
39:54be like God.
39:59All in all, the way I look at it is
40:01Satan has always used the same tactic
40:04and he likes to humiliate people.
40:07He likes to make you believe that you'll
40:09be okay cuz he was once humiliated.
40:12He tries to humiliate us in our
40:15relationship with God
40:17by making us doubt the very God that we
40:20can't trust. That's exactly what he did
40:21to Eve and Adam.
40:24He still humiliated them. You fools.
40:27Y'all had it all. And I came in and told
40:30you that you can have more. I told you
40:33that you didn't have to rely on God.
40:34You'll be like God and you listen to me.
40:38That's that's how he does this as well.
40:40He does it. He's It's the same thing.
40:42Verse five. Okay. For God knows that in
40:46the day you eat of it, your eyes will be
40:47open and you will be like God, knowing
40:49good and evil. Let's look at the lie and
40:52attack him.
40:54Satan attacked God's motive.
40:57He implied that God is holding power.
41:00He's withholding power and he's
41:02withholding potential from both you,
41:04Adam, and Eve. He's withholding it from
41:06both of y'all. Started off with Eve.
41:08That's it. I'm telling y'all, he does us
41:11the same way.
41:17So, this passage now reveals that
41:19temptation, Listen to what I'm about to
41:21say, y'all.
41:24Temptation
41:26begins with dialogue.
41:30If we look at what was happening,
41:33Eve was talking back to Satan. She was
41:36talking back to the serpent.
41:38It starts with dialogue.
41:42That's that's that's where the
41:43temptation starts. When somebody talks,
41:45this is why we have to be mindful of the
41:47people that we hold these type of
41:49conversations with. When the enemy gets
41:50in your head, turn it off. Stop talking
41:52back to him.
41:54What we talking back for? When the enemy
41:56gets in your head, this is why you have
41:57the word of God to begin with. Go back
42:00to your source. This is why we have to
42:02stay in communion with God. This is why
42:04we have to stay personal with God.
42:06Because the enemy knows if I just get
42:08you in dialogue where you talk back to
42:11me, I got you. The enemy does not, he is
42:13not all knowing. He does not know all of
42:15your thoughts. He does not know
42:17everything. He is not God. You give it
42:20away. I am a witness to that because I
42:22have done it time and time again. I know
42:25the difference in God's voice, the
42:27enemy's voice, and my voice. Because
42:29trust me, in the past week, the enemy
42:31was trying to turn me up. I was like,
42:33"Oh, I know. Oh, I hear you." Yeah,
42:36we're not doing that.
42:38No. And took it straight to prayer. Go
42:41ahead and silence that right now.
42:43Because the temptation would be if I
42:45have something birectional, if it is a
42:48back and forth, because then the enemy
42:49is going to believe we have a
42:50relationship cuz we talking, we don't.
42:53The enemy, what he did was he engaged a
42:56conversation and he planted a suggestion
42:58to Eve. Does he not do that to us? He
43:01engaged this conversation by that person
43:04that wasn't supposed to be back in your
43:05life, by that person you not supposed to
43:07be entertaining, by that business
43:08partner that God warned you about. by
43:10that person in the past that God said
43:12don't let them come back in. As soon as
43:14you engage in a conversation, there is a
43:16there's a suggestion now this planet.
43:21This is why I don't go back and forth
43:22with people who have it out not to
43:24believe in God. What I'm talking to you
43:25for, I don't need to evangelize to you.
43:28You got it out not to believe God. This
43:29ain't my battle unless God say it is my
43:31battle. Why? I'm not going to go to war
43:34with no witches.
43:36I without talking about the young lady,
43:39I have to bring the baby up. The the
43:41young woman I believe she's an
43:43evangelist maybe I think she's an
43:46evangelist cuz I see her do street work
43:48and I I remember months ago last year
43:50sometime maybe last year the year before
43:51that she was on a a Tik Tok live with a
43:55woman who was openly a witch brags about
43:57being a witch. That witch was raised in
44:00a church.
44:02That which knew the word of God and that
44:05evangelist didn't.
44:07She didn't. She wasn't confident in the
44:09word of God. That which ran a number on
44:12her. I said, "You don't fool with
44:15witches if you don't know the word of
44:18God. If you don't know that, they will
44:20run numbers on you and they will get you
44:22right there. That's all Satan needs to
44:25know is that you're not confident in the
44:27word of God." Okay. Oh, we can't hear
44:30you, darling. It's okay. Everybody's I
44:32can't hear I can't hear y'all. You're
44:33okay. You're okay. So, the enemy engages
44:35conversation and he plants a suggestion.
44:37Let me keep on rolling. Okay. Where
44:39there is a belief I was just talking to
44:42my class about this Tuesday. If you in
44:44my class, you heard me say it. Where
44:45there is a belief, there is an
44:48expectation. Where there is an
44:50expectation, there is a behavior.
44:54So, all Satan has to do is plant a
44:56belief. He just got to give you a
44:58suggestion and now it becomes a belief.
45:01Now you have an expectation. Now you're
45:03acting because of that expectation.
45:05Okay? Satan promised that they'd be like
45:08God.
45:10They were already made in the image of
45:12God. Did we not read that?
45:16Satan promised
45:18they'd be like God.
45:21They were already made in the image of
45:23God. Remember when we talked about the
45:24likeness in the image of God? We were
45:26already made with certain
45:28characteristics and capabilities and
45:30capacities already. We were already made
45:33in the image of God. However, Satan
45:36said, "Y'all be like God." Well, when we
45:38think of what a a god is, little G,
45:41reverent to God's name, little G, being
45:44a God means that you're independent of
45:46God. It means that you are autonomous.
45:49It means that you are self-governed,
45:51self- sovereign, self-defining,
45:54independent of God. And he said you'll
45:57be like God.
45:59In other words, Eve, I know that in your
46:01heart you have been thinking about and
46:03you have been feeling. What would it be
46:05like if we didn't have to rely on God?
46:11What would it be like if we can just
46:13Ooh, Lord, I hear you.
46:16What would it Oh, Jesus. Don't take it
46:19there, Kitty. What would it be like? Bur
46:21it in. What would it be like
46:26if we can make all decisions oursel?
46:30What would it be like if we were the
46:31creator? What would it be like if we
46:34were the king? What would it be like if
46:36we were sovereign?
46:38If we made all the decisions ourself,
46:41what would it be like?
46:44Huh?
46:46It was already in Eve. He just exploited
46:50it.
46:51It was there. He just exploited it.
46:56So if you think about what's in your
46:57heart
46:59and you think about what the enemy uses
47:01against you and what he uses as a
47:02weapon,
47:04think about that.
47:08Yeah.
47:10What is happening in the chat on on
47:13Zoom? Is it what what's happening over
47:15here?
47:17Is it I I I'm seeing I'm seeing dialogue
47:21that's getting in the way of us
47:22receiving the word of God. Do are we
47:24having an issue in the chat?
47:28I I I see
47:31I I'm seeing where there is some some
47:33distraction.
47:39Please, let's just stick to the word of
47:40God.
47:43Please do that. I don't want to have to
47:45block anybody.
47:48So, can we not do that?
47:51Please. Thank you. Okay. Verse six. So,
47:56the enemy influence a desire
47:59to be as a god and to be wise.
48:02Okay. It was to influence an autonomous
48:06way of thinking. I'm sure the enemy has
48:08probably got on one of you all before
48:09and made you think that you were above
48:10God's program. I know cuz he tried to
48:12make me feel like I was above God's
48:14program.
48:17Okay.
48:20Okay.
48:26We going to talk about that. Elena, just
48:28just let me flow through cuz this is
48:30long. Okay. Okay. So, I've done that
48:33before. I tried to do things my way, my
48:35own way. So it was to influence an
48:37autonomous way of thinking. Once her
48:39perception changed,
48:42once Eve's perception changed, her
48:44desire followed that perception. Okay?
48:48She wanted wisdom detached from her
48:51relying on God.
48:53Because if that wasn't the case, then
48:55why she eat the fruit?
48:57The temptation was to think that I can
48:59determine good and evil for myself.
49:04There's a lot of people that do that in
49:05society right now. That was the
49:06temptation that I can determine good and
49:09evil for myself. So once now her desire
49:13was justified,
49:15which is what a lot of people do. Once
49:17her desire was justified, now her
49:20actions, her eating from the tree seemed
49:22like it was reasonable because I can
49:23justify why I did it.
49:26That's Eve H
49:29going verses 7-10. Okay. Their eyes were
49:32opened. Just flow with me. Their eyes
49:35were open. The serpent promised
49:38enlightenment. He did. He promised
49:42enlightenment.
49:43And they did experience that
49:46just not the way he promised it. He
49:49said, "Y'all be like gods."
49:52They didn't experience the enlightenment
49:53in the way he promised. But
49:56he did promise enlightenment.
49:59What they became is self-conscious and
50:01aware.
50:03They didn't get no divine godlike
50:05wisdom. They didn't get that. What they
50:06got was self-consciousness
50:09and self-awareness. They didn't get they
50:12didn't gain the divine wisdom that they
50:13thought were going they were going to
50:14get.
50:16Now they realize that they were naked
50:20and they felt ashamed.
50:23They felt exposed. Now,
50:26if we go back to chapter 2, Genesis
50:29chapter 2, verse 25, it says, "And they
50:32were both naked, the man and his wife,
50:35and were not ashamed." That's KJV. They
50:38were both naked, the man and his wife,
50:40and they were not ashamed.
50:43They were not ashamed. Now, we hear
50:47verse 7. Now, we hear in chapter 3,
50:50verse 7. And the eyes of them were, I'm
50:54sorry, and the eyes of them both were
50:55opened, and they knew that they were
50:57naked. And they sewed fig leaves
50:59together, and made themselves aprons.
51:09Their eyes were open and they realized
51:11they were naked. And the first thing
51:13they tried to do was hide their
51:15nakedness because of the guilt.
51:16Absolutely, Amanda. Beautiful. So they
51:18sewed fig leaves together and made
51:21coverings for themselves.
51:24What would make you cover something you
51:26once had no problem having uncovered?
51:30Shame.
51:32Shame makes you hide. Has anyone ever
51:34hid from shame? Shame was was my
51:36identity for a long time and I hid from
51:38a lot.
51:40Mhm. Shame makes you hide.
51:44What they did, what we see in Genesis 3
51:46is they gained an insecurity.
51:50I want y'all to follow me. They gained
51:52an insecurity because shame is deeply
51:56connected to insecurity.
52:01They gained an insecurity.
52:04Shame acts as an intense, painful form
52:10of insecurity.
52:12No, it's not evil to feel shame. No, no,
52:14no. It's not evil. No, I'm not saying
52:16that. It's not evil to feel shame.
52:18[clears throat] That's human nature.
52:19It's not evil to feel shame.
52:22But shame acts as an intense painful
52:25form of insecurity that stemmed from a
52:28perceived devaluation of oneself.
52:32So when we felt shame and we felt that
52:35deep insecurity there was a devaluation
52:38that we did amongst oursel or we thought
52:40people did to us. Either we believe
52:42people were devaluing us or we did the
52:44same thing.
52:46Now while insecurity involves feelings
52:49of inadequacy or uncertainty.
52:53Shame is what escalates this to a belief
52:57that we're fundamentally flawed. So now
53:00they had an insecurity and it was shame
53:02that escalated
53:04to them being flawed.
53:07They were perfect. Did Did God not say
53:09that when he made the man? He said, "Oh
53:12yeah, perfect."
53:14He said, "This is good. This is very
53:16good." He said, "This right here." Mhm.
53:20This is it. They weren't flawed. Not in
53:22God's eyes.
53:24They were without flaw.
53:27They were without flaw.
53:30Now there's a belief that they were
53:32flawed, which is why they had to cover
53:33themselves. Are y'all following me? I
53:35know I'm going a lot. It's going to be
53:37This going to be on YouTube. I It's
53:38going to be saved. Are y'all following
53:40me? We still got some ways to go. Y'all
53:41just rock with me. I'm trying to get
53:42through it the best that I can. Okay.
53:44They sewed fig leaves together.
53:48Adam and Eve in verse seven. Adam and
53:50Eve were sewing fig leaves
53:54together.
53:56The first response, the first human
53:58response that we have to sin is a
54:01desperate attempt to cover their
54:04nakedness. It's a desperate attempt to
54:06cover what makes them vulnerable. It was
54:09a desperate attempt to cover their
54:11shame. It was a desperate attempt to
54:13cover their guilt through self-made
54:16human work related efforts.
54:23It was a futile it was a pointless a
54:27futile it was a pointless
54:32attempt at self-s salvation to save
54:36themselves and hide from God. It was
54:38pointless. You can't hide from God. What
54:40you doing? Okay. It was pointless.
54:43Mhm.
54:46Verse eight. They hear from the Lord
54:48amongst the trees of the garden.
54:52They're hiding from God, y'all.
54:55The same God who they had the presence
54:59of. They were in the presence of God
55:02relationally had an intimate
55:04relationship with God,
55:07the creator, the father, Lord God. Not
55:10just Lord, not just God, the Lord God.
55:15They had that. So now we see that
55:17they're hiding from God. So now their
55:20relationship with God is warped and
55:22distorted.
55:24Now their relationship is warped and
55:26distorted. Before they sinned, the
55:29walking in the garden was communion with
55:32God. Not communion like what you take at
55:34church when you take the bread and the
55:36grape juice. Not that. Not that. We
55:39ain't talking about that. They the they
55:41were in communion with God. That means
55:43that there was a sharing or an
55:45exchanging
55:47of feelings and thoughts amongst the
55:50presence of God. That was the original
55:52relationship.
55:54And then when they sin, the
55:56relationship, this vertical relationship
55:57that they have with God is now fractured
56:00and warped. So after they sin, when God
56:04was walking in the garden, now when he
56:07is walking in the garden, there is fear.
56:10their perception of God was altered. The
56:14the integrity of that relationship had
56:16changed.
56:19In verse eight, it says, "And they heard
56:21the voice of the Lord God walking in the
56:24garden." Walking in the garden. This is
56:27a theophony. Again, I talked to you all
56:29about that before. I think this is when
56:30we were doing Bible study in Acts. I
56:32talked shortly on theophonyies. This
56:34right here, right now, we see this
56:35manifestation of a theophony right here.
56:37There is an appearance of God in human
56:40form in this garden.
56:43He's with them at a personal level. Now,
56:45this is not saying that God is a man. We
56:47know that God is not a man. We know that
56:49he does not have human weaknesses. But
56:51this is the one of the This is actually
56:53the first theophony that we witnessed
56:55right here where we actually get to see
56:57God
57:00personal. He's changed his form. He he
57:03he presented himself in human form. said
57:06he was walking the garden.
57:09This is a theophony. I love seeing
57:10theophies in the word of God. It's fun
57:12seeing it.
57:14And then so so God made it personal.
57:17He's like, "Let me He already knew what
57:18they did. It's not like he didn't know."
57:21Mhm.
57:23But now when they communed and when they
57:25walked in the garden, now instead of the
57:28exchange of thoughts and feelings and
57:30things like that, this loving intimate
57:31relationship with God, now it's a
57:33relationship of fear. Anybody ever had
57:35that?
57:37Is Has anyone ever had that where,
57:41and I'm not talking about the healthy
57:43fear that the reverent fear that we're
57:45supposed to have of God. I'm talking
57:46about where you made a mistake and you
57:49hid from God. I hid from God from for a
57:52long time. I was like, "Oo, I can't face
57:54you. Nope. Not after this. I can't face
57:58you."
57:59And that's what the enemy wants. He
58:02wants our relationship with God to be
58:03distorted.
58:05It's why we got to stay at the foot of
58:06God, at the feet of God. Okay, so let's
58:09keep going. Verses 9-10.
58:12But the Lord God called to the man,
58:13"Where are you?"
58:17I don't know why this make me emotional.
58:18Jesus, I'm starting to think, y'all.
58:19Sorry. And he answered, "I heard you in
58:22a garden and I was afraid
58:25because I was naked. So I hid it. I
58:27think this is emotional for me because I
58:28remember a time where I hid from God. I
58:31was too afraid to face him. I knew the
58:34life I was living in. And it's just a
58:36icky feeling, right? Yeah. So, now we
58:39have sin that fractured.
58:42Y'all follow me. We We almost done. You
58:44had sin that fractured
58:48the vertical relationship that they had
58:51with God.
58:52>> I want to talk about when we say the
58:54word fracture. Let's put this in medical
58:56terms for a little bit. I know y'all
58:57know what a fracture is, right? I I'm
58:59sure somebody may have fractured a bone
59:01before. You all know what the the term
59:04fracture means, right? In medical terms,
59:07fracture and and break are used
59:10interchangeably to describe any loss of
59:13integrity in a bone. Any loss of
59:17integrity of the bone. So if it is a
59:20minor fracture,
59:23a a paper fracture, a very thin
59:24fracture, or it it is a breaking, it is
59:29still a loss of in are y'all following
59:31me? It's still a loss of integrity in a
59:35bone. When we think of the word
59:37fracture,
59:39so now if we look at this word fracture,
59:41sin fractured the vertical relationship
59:43with God. That means that there was a
59:44loss of integrity in the relationship
59:47between them and God.
59:50It was evidenced by how Adam responded
59:52in fear. Are y'all following me?
59:56So for us, it's the same way when we
59:59sin. Come on, Holy Spirit. When we sin,
1:00:03there's now a loss of integrity in our
1:00:07relationship
1:00:08with God. It doesn't mean we are
1:00:10perfect, but this is the reason why we
1:00:11have a heart of repentance and the
1:00:13reason why we repent to restore the
1:00:15integrity that we have in the
1:00:17relationship that we have with God. Do
1:00:18y'all are y'all following me?
1:00:22Are y'all are y'all following me here?
1:00:26So, I want y'all to think about that.
1:00:30The sin fractured the relationship they
1:00:33had with God.
1:00:36It trickles down to every relationship
1:00:38that you have once your relationship
1:00:40with God is fractured
1:00:42and you start looking at your other
1:00:43relationships.
1:00:45The relationships where God is not the
1:00:47center of those relationships and it is
1:00:48a trickling effect.
1:00:50Let's keep going y'all. I'm sorry. We I
1:00:53know it's long. I'm trying to Are y'all
1:00:55okay? Are y'all good? We We still going?
1:00:57Y'all with me? Okay. So now we see in
1:01:00verse 11 through13 that Adam blames Eve
1:01:04and then indirectly blames God. This is
1:01:06more than you just blaming Eve. You said
1:01:08the woman that you gave to me,
1:01:11she made me do it and that's the woman
1:01:13you gave to me. And then Eve blamed the
1:01:16servant.
1:01:20What would have happened if they would
1:01:21have confessed first?
1:01:26What would have what would happen if we
1:01:28confess first? Instead of shifting the
1:01:30blame to everything else, that person
1:01:32didn't force you to sin, Satan put that
1:01:34person right there in front of you
1:01:36because they knew that was going to be
1:01:36your weakness.
1:01:39That drink didn't cause you to sin. The
1:01:41weed didn't cause you to sin. The porn
1:01:43didn't cause you to sin. It was placed
1:01:45strategically strategically in front of
1:01:47you
1:01:49by this enemy of tactic, this conniving,
1:01:52deceptive enemy. It wasn't it wasn't
1:01:54that. You can't put the blame and say it
1:01:56was put in front of me. The desire was
1:01:59placed in front of you and you gave in.
1:02:02I'm guilty of that. Right?
1:02:04They both blamed everybody but
1:02:07themselves.
1:02:09We had a fractured relationship that
1:02:11they had with God. Now you got these
1:02:14two. Adam blamed her.
1:02:18She blamed the serpent. Adam said, "God,
1:02:20you gave me her."
1:02:23Now we have this trickling that becomes
1:02:24now horizontal between the two wed the
1:02:27two married people. Now we see contempt.
1:02:30Now we see conflict. Now we see a
1:02:33fractured relationship between these
1:02:36two. This is this is a marriage we
1:02:38talking about. I'm not going to go too
1:02:39deep in this one because I have to I
1:02:41have to take this on another route when
1:02:43we get deeper into the word of God when
1:02:44it talks about marriage. But we're
1:02:46talking about two who are wed these two
1:02:48are married. Whenever you get set in
1:02:50your own ways
1:02:53and you blame everybody but yourself,
1:02:58you will now have conflict between you
1:03:01and the person you are with. The the
1:03:03more we fracture the relationship that
1:03:05we have with God. The more we sin and
1:03:08get away from God's way, the more we
1:03:10take God out of the center of our
1:03:12friendships and our relationships and
1:03:15all of our relationships. I'm going to
1:03:16make this more than about marriage. The
1:03:18relationship that we have now becomes
1:03:20fractured with that person when two try
1:03:23to navigate a relationship set in their
1:03:25own ways.
1:03:27Okay, we going to keep going. I'm sorry
1:03:28y'all. Neither of them confessed to
1:03:30their sin initially.
1:03:34They shifted blame.
1:03:37So now one flesh that Adam said,
1:03:41one flesh is what Adam said.
1:03:45Now one flesh is now fractured.
1:03:49That's what sin does. Sin destabilizes
1:03:51everything in our lives. Us our
1:03:54relationship with God. It sets us apart.
1:03:56It separates us from God. It
1:03:58destabilizes us and all the
1:04:00relationships around us. So sin
1:04:02fractured the relationship with God and
1:04:06then it fractured the marital
1:04:07relationship between Adam and Eve, which
1:04:09is when we get to verses 16 and 17, we
1:04:11going to understand why God said what he
1:04:13said. Okay, I'm about to bring this one
1:04:14in, y'all. And then we finn going to be
1:04:16done. We about to go through 14 through
1:04:1815. Okay,
1:04:2014 through 15. Then I promise y'all we
1:04:22done. Okay, now we want to talk about
1:04:25where hope enters. Now we can put a
1:04:26heart in our Bible. Y'all just draw a
1:04:28heart right there. Just where? Draw
1:04:31y'all heart
1:04:33right where 15 is where you draw the
1:04:37heart because this is another
1:04:40seed.
1:04:42This is
1:04:45another foreshadowing of the coming of
1:04:47Jesus
1:04:48right there. Okay.
1:04:51God curses the serpent and declares war
1:04:54right here.
1:04:56Right there in verse 14.
1:05:02This is a proto evangelo.
1:05:05This is the first gospel that we see.
1:05:08Proto beginning first proto. This is the
1:05:13first evangelium evangelist. Y'all know
1:05:16the gospel spreading of the first
1:05:17gospel. Right
1:05:20here lies the seed of the entire Bible
1:05:23right here. This is verse 15.
1:05:26I will put enmity between you and the
1:05:29woman. This is why we read this in KJV.
1:05:33and between your seed
1:05:37and her seed. Verse 15. Mhm. And between
1:05:43your seed and her seed, if you
1:05:47capitalize
1:05:49seed, when it says her seed, if you
1:05:52capitalize seed, that'll give you a
1:05:55hint. I will put in between enmity
1:05:57between you and the woman. And I will
1:06:00put animosity and a deep hatred between
1:06:02you and a woman and between your seed
1:06:04and her seed. He shall bruise your head
1:06:08and you shall bruise his heel.
1:06:12Proto evangelum. Let's talk about that
1:06:13for a minute. [clears throat] This shows
1:06:16us that God always had the plan of
1:06:19salvation in mind. He always had the
1:06:22plan of salvation in mind and he
1:06:25informed us of his plan as soon as sin
1:06:28entered the world.
1:06:30God is outside of time. Okay, this is
1:06:33where the gospel thread starts in
1:06:36Genesis 3:15.
1:06:38It flows through 3:15 to Abraham to
1:06:42David to Christ to the cross to the
1:06:46resurrection to the Revelation. It's a
1:06:48flow. This is the first gospel or the
1:06:52first promise of a savior.
1:06:55Keep flowing with me, y'all. Keep going.
1:06:57It promises that the seed of the woman,
1:07:01the seed of the woman, I'mma give y'all
1:07:03parallel supporting scripture so y'all
1:07:04know I'm not making it up. The seed of
1:07:06the woman will crush the serpent's head,
1:07:08signaling
1:07:10humanity's ultimate victory over the
1:07:12sin, which is through Christ Jesus,
1:07:14right? Following the disobedience that
1:07:16took place in Eden.
1:07:18Mhm.
1:07:20God curses the serpent, Satan, and he
1:07:24declares war between the serpent and
1:07:26humanity. Let's look at some some deeper
1:07:28stuff real quick. Okay. A coming seed.
1:07:30Let's talk about the epistle to the
1:07:32Galatians. If you look in Galatians
1:07:343:16, y'all just go over to Galatians
1:07:363:16. I'mma pull that up in my NLT.
1:07:38Where in the world is my NLT? Galatians
1:07:413:16. Cuz I don't want y'all to think,
1:07:42Kitty, you just making this up. I'm not.
1:07:44I study too much to make it up. And I
1:07:46pray before I study, so I know God be
1:07:47with me. He ain't going to let me make
1:07:48it up. I can't mislead y'all cuz then
1:07:50I'll get in trouble. I don't like to be
1:07:52in trouble. Where we at?
1:07:56God gave the promises to Abraham and his
1:07:58child. I should have read it in King in
1:08:00King James version. Should have read it
1:08:02that way.
1:08:03And notice that the scripture doesn't
1:08:05say to his children as if it meant many
1:08:08descendants. Rather, it says to his
1:08:10child. And that of course means Christ.
1:08:12Let's keep going. In Galatians 3:16,
1:08:17in Galatians 3:16, [clears throat] it
1:08:20states that the promises regarding
1:08:22salvation were spoken to Abram, Abraham,
1:08:25and his seed offspring. We about to go
1:08:27there in case y'all don't believe me,
1:08:29emphasizing that this refers to one
1:08:31specific descendant, Christ rather than
1:08:35many. The many, the serpent crushing
1:08:38promise narrows now to a lineage.
1:08:43Paul argues that the singular wording
1:08:45[clears throat] in Genesis seed not
1:08:48seeds seed singular seed highlights
1:08:52Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of the
1:08:54covenant. Now go to Genesis chapter 1.
1:08:58Go to Genesis chapter 1 cuz I ain't
1:09:00going to lie to you. Go to Genesis
1:09:02chapter 1. This is why I love the word
1:09:04of God. Not chapter 1, sorry. Chapter
1:09:0612, sorry. Genesis 12, verse one. Sorry.
1:09:09Genesis 12 verse one. Where we at? Where
1:09:13we at? Where we at? All right. The call
1:09:15of Abram.
1:09:17Okay. The Lord has said to Abram, "Leave
1:09:20your native country, your relatives, and
1:09:21your father's family, and go to the land
1:09:23that I will show you. I will make you
1:09:25into a great nation. I will bless you
1:09:27and make you famous, and you will be a
1:09:29blessing to others. I will bless those
1:09:31who bless you and curse those who treat
1:09:33you with contempt. All the families on
1:09:35earth will be blessed through you.
1:09:38Okay. All the families on earth will be
1:09:41blessed through you. In thee, should
1:09:44have read it in King James. In thee
1:09:46shall all families of the earth be
1:09:48blessed.
1:09:51When you read Genesis 12 1-3:es
1:09:541-3, it records God's call to Abram to
1:09:58leave his home for a new land, promising
1:10:01to make him a great nation. Bless him,
1:10:04make his name great, and through him
1:10:07bless all families on earth. The promise
1:10:09of Genesis 3:15 begins to move through
1:10:13Abraham.
1:10:15Born of a woman,
1:10:17born of a woman, the born of a woman,
1:10:21the seed will crush the serpent, but
1:10:23will himself suffer. Keep I'm going to
1:10:25keep going for a minute, y'all, cuz I
1:10:26want to make sure you got that. Now the
1:10:28Bible in verses in chapter 3, Genesis
1:10:313:15, first gospel. Now the Bible
1:10:34becomes a search for the seed
1:10:36[clears throat] or a singular deliverer.
1:10:38Just keep going. The promise narrowed
1:10:40down with Abraham.
1:10:43We have a lineage now. Now the promise
1:10:45was given the throne to David.
1:10:48If you go to 2 Samuel's, I ain't gonna
1:10:50read all that y'all because I know we
1:10:52cutting for time. If you go to 2
1:10:53Samuel's chapter 7 12-6,
1:10:58God promises David a royal descendant
1:11:01and an eternal throne. Just go with me
1:11:04because I'm going to get back to
1:11:05Abraham. He promised, we went down from
1:11:073:15 to Abraham where a covenant was
1:11:10made, a promise was made. And then we
1:11:13get to David where a promise was made
1:11:15again and he said, "You will have a
1:11:17royal descendant and an eternal throne.
1:11:20The seed, capital S, will be royal and
1:11:23reign eternally.
1:11:26The deliverer will be king. Mhm. That's
1:11:29confirmed in Isaiah 9:es 6-7. A child
1:11:36will reign forever. It's basically what
1:11:38Isaiah 9:es 6-7 says. This is now we are
1:11:43searching for a seed. Who's the seed? We
1:11:45are searching for a singular deliverer
1:11:47in the word of God. If you keep reading,
1:11:49you'll find it. Okay. So, now let's talk
1:11:51about the promise born of a woman. I'mma
1:11:53take us to Matthew 1. This one I am
1:11:55going to read cuz I know y'all going to
1:11:56see them names and say, "Kitty, you got
1:11:59to read the names, y'all." Or any of
1:12:01y'all guilty of not reading the names.
1:12:03You got to read the names. You have to
1:12:06read the lineage. It was 2 Samuel 7
1:12:1012-6.
1:12:122 Sam 2 Samuel 7 12-6.
1:12:16The promise born of a woman. The promise
1:12:19incarnated. The promise in human form.
1:12:21Born of a woman. This said in the word
1:12:24of God in Genesis, seed of a woman.
1:12:27Where do you typically see the word of
1:12:29God talking about a seed of a woman?
1:12:33That's an unusual phrasing
1:12:36because lineage is typically traced
1:12:39through men.
1:12:40If you read through all of the lineage,
1:12:45it rarely says mother of. It rarely says
1:12:48daughter of. It typically says father
1:12:50of, father of, son of. It's going to say
1:12:53something. Lineage is usually traced
1:12:54through man. The seed usually refers to
1:12:58a man's offspring.
1:13:00It says seed of a woman. That's unusual.
1:13:03Matthew 1, I'm going to read it if y'all
1:13:06need examples. when it talks about man's
1:13:08offspring, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David
1:13:12in 2 Samuel in the book of Deuteronomy,
1:13:15I think it's like chapter 25, something
1:13:17like that, it talks about that. And then
1:13:18we have the Gospel of Matthew that
1:13:21traces Jesus as the son of Abraham and
1:13:23the son of David.
1:13:27Take us back.
1:13:30Now you have Jesus.
1:13:34It says in Matthew 1, "This is a record
1:13:36of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a
1:13:39descendant of David and Abraham." A
1:13:41descendant of David and Abraham. So when
1:13:45we go through the word of God and we go
1:13:47from Genesis 3:15 and then we going to
1:13:50go through Genesis 12 and you going to
1:13:52get to Abraham. Once again, we are
1:13:55talking about a descendant.
1:13:57Now we there's a descendant. And then
1:13:59when you get to 2 Samuel, you talk to
1:14:01talk about David. There's a royal
1:14:03descendant. There's an eternal throne
1:14:06that's promised. We still have a king.
1:14:08We have a deliverer.
1:14:11We have a miracle.
1:14:14So now when you read the word of God, if
1:14:16you actually take the time to read the
1:14:18word of God and you really, really,
1:14:20really, really, really, really start
1:14:22paying attention, the whole time Jesus
1:14:25is talked about. If you ever say, "Well,
1:14:27Jesus didn't come to the New Testament."
1:14:29Yeah, whatever.
1:14:33Exactly. I like that. Jasma, I think
1:14:35it's Jasma. Yeah. Okay. Just I I want to
1:14:38make sure we got that because I'm going
1:14:39to keep talking about this in the next
1:14:41couple of Bible studies. This is the
1:14:42record of the ancestors of Jesus, the
1:14:44Messiah, a descendant of David
1:14:47and Abraham. Abraham was the father of
1:14:49Isaac.
1:14:51Y, if y'all just read it,
1:14:54you may see a couple times where we see
1:14:55the mother of something. You may see a
1:14:58couple of times where you see that. for
1:14:59Abraham. It starts off with Abraham and
1:15:02then it continues to flow. And if you
1:15:04flow long enough, you gonna get right
1:15:07down to Mary gave birth to Jesus who is
1:15:11called the Messiah.
1:15:14You'll start off with Abraham. As you
1:15:17flow and you keep going, you got
1:15:20Solomon, you got all of them, you got
1:15:23the whole shebang. And you keep on
1:15:25flowing. You going to get right down
1:15:26there to Jesus.
1:15:30So if you go through all of Genesis and
1:15:34you read the Old Testament,
1:15:36you're going to understand why Jesus had
1:15:38to come. The first gospel was 3:15.
1:15:44That was a proto evangelism. That was
1:15:45the first gospel.
1:15:48If you keep reading, there are going to
1:15:49be hints of the Messiah, hints of a
1:15:52coming savior, hints of the coming
1:15:54Messiah, hints of a deliverer. Because
1:15:57when sin entered into the world, God
1:15:59said, "I already have a plan of
1:16:00salvation.
1:16:03God didn't wait." If you constantly read
1:16:05through Genesis, you're going to see the
1:16:07promises that God made all point right
1:16:10to Jesus.
1:16:12It all points down to Jesus. Abraham,
1:16:16you're going to have a lineage.
1:16:19And from that is going to flow the
1:16:20Messiah. It's all coming from those that
1:16:22I entered into a covenant with. Nothing
1:16:25is wasted in the word of God. I wanted
1:16:27to make sure I could have held out on
1:16:28putting uh on talking about 3:15, but I
1:16:30wanted to make sure that we talked about
1:16:31that. Okay? I wanted to make sure we
1:16:33talked about that. So, I want y'all to
1:16:35take some time, go back and read about
1:16:36that. A coming seed. Even Paul said that
1:16:39in Galatians, he said that.
1:16:42He said the coming seed was Christ all
1:16:44along. What you saw in the Old Testament
1:16:48was Christ all along. So, even with sin
1:16:50entered into the world, God already had
1:16:53a plan to save us.
1:16:57Okay. [laughter]
1:16:59Okay, y'all. I know that was a lot. I
1:17:01wanted to try to get done before 8:00
1:17:03p.m. Central Standard Time. But y'all
1:17:05take that as you will. I'll make sure
1:17:07that on the YouTube that I put all of
1:17:10the parallel scriptures because they are
1:17:11important. But go back over it. 3:15 is
1:17:15where it really is highlighted. If you
1:17:16want to look, that is the first gospel.
1:17:18That's the first promise of a savior. It
1:17:21said the seed of a woman will crush the
1:17:23serpent's head.
1:17:25There's one of those evidence of Jesus
1:17:27Christ.
1:17:29One of those evidence.
1:17:32Mhm.
1:17:34So if you go back and you read of the
1:17:37crucifixion
1:17:39and after, you'll be surprised what you
1:17:41get.
1:17:45That's why Satan had went up there
1:17:47talking to Jesus. He was trying to take
1:17:48him out. He said, "Whoa.
1:17:50You're that person, huh? No, no, no.
1:17:53Mhm.
1:17:55Seed was singular. And if y'all need to
1:17:58go back, Genesis 3:15,
1:18:02Galatians 3:16 is a reference point as
1:18:04well. Genesis 12 1-3 is a reference
1:18:08point as well. That's when God was
1:18:10talking to Abram and he entered into the
1:18:11covenant there. That was a promise that
1:18:13was made. And then you have um David,
1:18:17sorry about that. In 2 Samuel chapter 7
1:18:2012-6 the verses where God promises David
1:18:24a royal descendant and an eternal
1:18:25throne. The seed is going to be royal
1:18:28king, right? And reign eternally. The
1:18:30deliverer is going to be king. And then
1:18:32that's confirmed in Isaiah chapter 9
1:18:356-7.
1:18:37A child will reign forever.
1:18:42And then if you go back, excuse me, and
1:18:45you read over Matthew 1, you're going to
1:18:48see the lineage,
1:18:50Abraham all the way down to Jesus
1:18:53Christ.
1:18:54You'll see the lineage. And then they
1:18:57purposely put in the word of God. It was
1:19:00purposely put that Mary was a virgin.
1:19:04It was purposely put because we're not
1:19:06talking about the way that God worded it
1:19:08in the word of God. The phrasing was so
1:19:10unusual that it makes your eyes open up.
1:19:14It It makes your eyes pop open because
1:19:16if you look at that, it said seed of a
1:19:19woman. What do you mean of a woman? If
1:19:21you read the word of God, one thing that
1:19:24God purposely places is that most of the
1:19:27lineage is talking about is tracing
1:19:31through the men. So when we look at the
1:19:33word of God when it comes to Jesus,
1:19:36the emphasis was Mary, not Joseph. Cuz
1:19:39Mary was a virgin. Y'all get that?
1:19:43Mary was a virgin.
1:19:46Absolutely. I love Luke. Luke is how you
1:19:48make it plain. If y'all want to make it
1:19:49plainer than that, Luke is good. But
1:19:51Mary was a virgin, so it had to put
1:19:54emphasis on her seat
1:19:57because Joseph didn't impregnate her
1:19:58with Jesus.
1:20:01We got that.
1:20:03[laughter]
1:20:04Okay, there we go, y'all. That was a
1:20:05lot. That was a whole lot. We've been in
1:20:07here for an hour and 20. That was good.
1:20:10I want to make sure that y'all got that.
1:20:12I hope that wasn't too much, y'all. But
1:20:14we'll just go over it cuz I know that
1:20:16was a lot, but we got to get through
1:20:18Genesis. I should have waited to do the
1:20:21first gospel, but I had to put it in
1:20:22there cuz I need y'all to see it. I need
1:20:25to make it plain because it's gonna be a
1:20:28lot of other moments in Genesis where
1:20:29it's going to be plain about the
1:20:31Messiah. Y'all going to be like, "Hold
1:20:32on.
1:20:34Hold up."
1:20:36Yeah. Especially Especially the next
1:20:39Bible study when it talks about us
1:20:40again. When God references us again,
1:20:46Jesus was always there. So whenever
1:20:48people say, "No, Jesus came in the New
1:20:50Testament."
1:20:52What? Read the New Testament again. you
1:20:54going to see that Jesus always been
1:20:55there. He's always been there. Okay.
1:21:00Always. Okay. We love Jesus around here.
1:21:04Amen. Okay. So, I hope y'all got as much
1:21:07information. I hope y'all take some time
1:21:09to really go in and piece the puzzle
1:21:10together. Piece it together the best way
1:21:12that y'all can. Okay. Piece the puzzle
1:21:16together with the scriptures that I gave
1:21:17y'all. Okay. Piece the puzzle together.
1:21:20All right.
1:21:21I hope that Okay. What are y'all going
1:21:22to take from today? I'm sorry about
1:21:23that. What are we going to take from
1:21:24today? We're learning about sin for one.
1:21:27And we're going to talk about the flow
1:21:28of sin. We're going to talk about the
1:21:30patterns in the next one in our next
1:21:32study. We're going to be talking about
1:21:33Jesus again in the next study, too.
1:21:36We're going to be talking about that in
1:21:37the next one. But what are y'all taking
1:21:38from today? Cuz yeah, we got to talk
1:21:40about sorrow and the curses and all of
1:21:42that stuff on the next one.
1:21:45It's um that's a good study, too.
1:21:49Always been written throughout the
1:21:50Bible. I love Jesus.
1:21:53I love Jesus. He's amazing.
1:21:57Not have any dialogue. You better come
1:21:59on in here. Sin fractures. And remember
1:22:02what fractures mean. Y'all got the
1:22:04theophony. I love that. Remember what
1:22:06fractures mean, right? There's a loss of
1:22:08integrity. So, think about that before
1:22:10you all
1:22:12willingly and consciously sin.
1:22:15Remember that there will be a fracture
1:22:17in the relationship that you have with
1:22:18God because there is a separation.
1:22:20There's a loss of integrity. So remember
1:22:22that and if you for any reason you fall
1:22:24short, repent. Take it back to God, but
1:22:27stay in communion with God. Because if
1:22:28you're not in communion with God, even
1:22:31in that position of repentance,
1:22:34uh the enemy is going to come for you
1:22:37cuz you'll be vulnerable. So we don't
1:22:39want to be vulnerable. Okay?
1:22:48You don't want to be vulnerable. Okay?
1:22:50What was she talking about? Nothing is
1:22:53wasted. All right, so I hope you all
1:22:54took something today. Let's go ahead and
1:22:57get ready to close out. And thank y'all
1:22:59so much for joining. Thank y'all so
1:23:02much. And thank y'all for trusting me to
1:23:03help you all in Bible study. And oh
1:23:06wait, cuz y'all had some y'all had some
1:23:07nasty pictures of me last time. So take
1:23:09a good one, okay? Cuz y'all be posting
1:23:12on the story, baby. I was like, now
1:23:13look, y'all could have told your girl to
1:23:15smile for a picture, okay? So, if y'all
1:23:18gonna post it.
1:23:24Amen. All right. Glory. Cuz y'all y'all
1:23:26had me on there in a deep word. I said,
1:23:27"Now, y'all, why y'all post that picture
1:23:29of me over there making me look like a
1:23:31fool?" [snorts]
1:23:34All right, y'all. So, exactly. Know
1:23:36them. I saw that. Know them words better
1:23:37than the witches do. I'm telling y'all,
1:23:39them witches be It's witches in a
1:23:40church. Y'all better, baby. I've been in
1:23:43church my whole life. It's witches in
1:23:44the church. You better know your word of
1:23:46God cuz they know when you don't.
1:23:49Mhm. If you ain't confident, let
1:23:52somebody else do it.
1:23:54All right. All right. Father God, thank
1:23:56you so much for this Bible study, my
1:23:59God, on today. This was a really,
1:24:01really, really insightful Bible study,
1:24:04Father God. And I want to take the time
1:24:06right now to position myself
1:24:10and continue to position myself in a
1:24:12posture of repentance, Father God, for
1:24:14you know my heart, God. And if there has
1:24:17been any mistakes that I have made
1:24:18unknowingly, Father God, I openly repent
1:24:20for the mistakes that I have made. I
1:24:22openly repent for any sinful thoughts
1:24:24that I have had, any sinful acts that I
1:24:25have committed, Father God. And I hope
1:24:27that my brothers and sisters in Christ
1:24:29will do the same, Father God. But I
1:24:31thank you for your patience. I thank you
1:24:33for your grace and your mercy as we walk
1:24:35hand in hand with you, Father God,
1:24:37because the enemy has used many tactics
1:24:40against us, but we will stay at the feet
1:24:43of the throne, Father God. We will stay
1:24:44beside you, Father God, knowing that it
1:24:46is you who will guide our way, God. I
1:24:49thank you for showing us just how
1:24:51amazing Jesus Christ is, Father God. And
1:24:53I thank you for our savior. I thank you
1:24:55for our counselor, Father God. I thank
1:24:58you for our provider. I thank you for
1:24:59our king. And I love you for all of the
1:25:02things that you have done for me, Father
1:25:04God. And we thank you for the abundance.
1:25:05And if there has ever been a selfish
1:25:07moment, Father God, where we focus on
1:25:08the things that we did not had, did not
1:25:10have, and we disregarded the things that
1:25:12we do have. Father God, forgive us,
1:25:14Father God. Forgive us, Father God. We
1:25:17are walking this life, Father God. And
1:25:19there has been toil in this life. There
1:25:20has been anguish. There has been
1:25:22distress, God. But we are staying with
1:25:24you. And we are committed to stay with
1:25:26you, Father God. If there is anyone who
1:25:27is still confused from this Bible study,
1:25:29Father God, let them reach the replay,
1:25:31Father God. Let them be in the place of
1:25:33privacy and secrecy with you, Father
1:25:35God, and store it in their hearts,
1:25:37Father God, and rewrite all that needs
1:25:38to be rewritten on their hearts, God,
1:25:40and let them carry it throughout their
1:25:42days, Father God. I want to take the
1:25:44time to extend my gratitude to everyone
1:25:47who has been in here and extend my love
1:25:48for everyone who has been in the
1:25:50studies. For all of the people who are
1:25:51new, for all the people who have been
1:25:53here, who have continued to walk with me
1:25:55alongside you, Father God, because there
1:25:57have been more and more revelations and
1:25:59our relationship with you is growing
1:26:00stronger and stronger. Let no one who is
1:26:04used by the enemy be able to get into
1:26:06our head, Father God. Let no one be able
1:26:09to enter into dialogue and change and
1:26:12distort our view of you, Father God,
1:26:13because we know you are the one true
1:26:15God. We know you are the God that we can
1:26:18count on. The God who sees all, the God
1:26:20who knows all, Father God. We know that
1:26:22you are the beginning and the end,
1:26:24Father God. And you know today,
1:26:26tomorrow, and the day after, Father God.
1:26:28And I take the time right now, Father
1:26:30God, to stretch my heart and to stretch
1:26:32my hands to thee, Father God,
1:26:34positioning myself in worship, Father
1:26:37God, in a reverent worship, Father God,
1:26:40knowing that when I come to you, Father
1:26:41God, I know that you are the highest.
1:26:43You are the sovereign God. You are the
1:26:45holy, righteous God who is set apart,
1:26:47Father God. So continue to walk with us
1:26:49on this journey, God. Continue to have
1:26:51your way in our life, Father God. We
1:26:53surrender it all, Father God. And for
1:26:56those of you all who are struggling to
1:26:57say yes, Father God, that you will
1:26:59position them, Father God, to see that
1:27:01you are the God who provides,
1:27:03that there is nothing that they would
1:27:05need from anybody else but you. And that
1:27:07it is okay to give a yes, Father God.
1:27:09Because in that yes will be our
1:27:11strength, it will be our guidance, our
1:27:14future, our destiny, our purpose is in
1:27:17our obedience and that yes. And so I
1:27:19love you God. I thank you for Christ
1:27:21Jesus. I thank you for the blood. I
1:27:24thank you for your sacrifices, God.
1:27:28Thank you so much for Jesus's Yes.
1:27:30Father God, I thank you for the
1:27:32crucififor love, God, that we may carry
1:27:35that same love, that same love of
1:27:38sacrifice, and that we may carry our
1:27:40cross throughout all of our days. Father
1:27:41God, keep us nailed to the cross when we
1:27:44want to go left, when we want to go the
1:27:46wrong way, Father God, that you keep us
1:27:48upright, Father God, at and with Christ,
1:27:50Father God. So we love you in a mighty
1:27:54in matchless name we pray. Amen. Amen
1:27:59and amen again. It is done. We sealed it
1:28:01y'all. I love you all. You all have a
1:28:04beautiful night. I will see you all in
1:28:06two weeks. I will see some of you all
1:28:07next Tuesday. I love you all. Y'all make
1:28:10sure that y'all go ahead and read the
1:28:11word of God. And don't forget to wake up
1:28:13in the morning and say y'all prayer. Say
1:28:15y'all prayer. Okay. And we coming back.
1:28:19Genesis chapter I mean chapter 16.
1:28:20Genesis 3 16.
1:28:24About to get some more of that work,
1:28:25y'all. Y'all go get y'all some rest.
