1:17I had Hello, Tia. Hi, sugar. I don't

1:21know if you got my message. Hello,

1:22sugar.

1:24M talk about the attacks.

1:28Woo.

1:30All right.

1:33Covered by the blood. Let the river of

1:35life flow through us. Oh, Heavenly

1:38Father, be with us tonight. All right,

1:40y'all. That that fast wore me out this

1:43week. I ain't going to lie to y'all. I

1:44thought I was going to be able to do it

1:45on Tuesday, y'all. I was like in and

1:48out. In and out. Like, I was so drained

1:51physically that I Oh my god. Like my mom

1:54was telling me, she was like, "You just

1:55kept going in and out of sleep." Like, I

1:57was tired.

1:58Oh my god. On today. Oh, Lord. Oh, that

2:28But that's all right. We're children of

2:33are children of God. That means we trust

2:36God, right? Absolutely. Yes. I'm on

2:39YouTube. If y'all can, if y'all are okay

2:41with not being on Zoom, jump over to

2:42YouTube just in case. Uh because there's

2:44a lot of people who registered, excuse

2:46me, a lot of people who registered

2:49and they can't get on Zoom. So, they

2:50think that because they can't get on

2:52Zoom, they can't get in Bible study. I'm

2:54sorry. I'm guilty. And I don't want them

2:56to think that cuz they'll email me and

2:58stuff, but I want to make sure that

2:59everyone is able to get in. But thank

3:00y'all for remembering. I tried to post

3:02it on YouTube and Instagram and all of

3:05that. Oh, thank you so much, Lynn. I

3:07tried to post it everywhere. For some

3:09reason, Google Workspace will not let

3:10you send out a whole lot of emails, so a

3:12lot of y'all probably didn't even

3:13receive an email from me. So, it just I

3:17don't know. It's just one of those

3:18things. Okay.

3:54Genesis 4:15 today. Okay, I'mma do

3:57something very different. Although I do

3:59have my handy dandy New King James

4:02Version, I am going to be in the

4:03Ethiopian complete Bible today. Okay, it

4:06is it just breaks things down. It

4:09simplifies those without me having to

4:11reading two texts from two different

4:12translations of the word. I'm going to

4:14focus on the Ethiopian. It's really

4:16simple. We may have like three or four

4:18key terms, not anything that's too heavy

4:20as far as key terms. Um, but I I

4:23absolutely love to study with this one

4:25group. This is This is my baby. This is

4:29my baby. And of course, you know, I've

4:31been studying. So, we got the gangster,

4:33the O gangster, [clears throat] the

4:36message Bible, which is a good

4:37breakdown, too, if you need a full

4:39breakdown of what Genesis is. The

4:41message Bible. Okay.

4:44Okay. Um, so this will be recorded and

4:47it's going to be on YouTube. Okay.

4:51Oh, you're so welcome. You're welcome.

4:54It's Bianca. It's a beautiful name. It's

4:56different.

4:58I like that. Like that. If y'all want to

5:00see, Here you go. It's the complete

5:03Ethiopian Bible. It's good. Uh, which

5:07press is this by? It's by This is by

5:09Solomon Press.

5:11Solomon's Gate Press. Sorry. about to

5:54moved it up to the 12th cuz I was just

5:56too tired from my fast. And y'all, I got

5:58to stop doing that. I need to make sure

6:01that I take a day's rest. It was time to

6:03eat.

6:06I can't do that when I come off of the

6:07same day. We ain't going to do that.

6:10Okay. So yeah, we're going to be in the

6:11complete Ethiopian Bible today. Lord

6:13Jesus, I do not have on a fan, but we

6:15just going to we going to make it

6:16through this today. Okay, I hope

6:18everyone does everyone have their

6:19physical Bible. I see there are uh I see

6:23there are a lot of new people. I love to

6:25see new people. Hello. By the way,

6:27y'all, I checked on Tuesday when I was

6:29trying to email all of y'all and there

6:30were 4,800 something people who

6:32registered for Bible study. They may not

6:35make it, but they registered. Doesn't

6:37that say a lot? Like that says a lot.

6:40Right? Like look at the work that we are

6:43doing. Right?

6:46Look at the work that we are doing.

6:51Look at that. Not the work I'm doing,

6:53the work we are doing. Cuz I know a lot

6:55of y'all share. I know a lot of y'all

6:58talk to people about it and y'all show

7:00up. Look at the work that we doing. Come

7:03on y'all.

7:05Come on. This soul business, right?

7:08This is soul business. I love it. I love

7:10it. All right, y'all. So, uh, let's go

7:13ahead and get into prayer and then let's

7:15go ahead and get into the word of God.

7:18As a matter of fact, everyone, y'all

7:19said y'all do have your Bibles, right?

7:21Everyone does have their Bibles. Let me

7:23go ahead and tell y'all. Um, I'm stuck

7:26with you since Exodus chapter 3. Oh, I

7:28love that, Latrina. Wait for us to get

7:30back to Exodus. Okay, y'all know I

7:32bounce around. So, we got to Exodus.

7:34What did we get to y'all? What was it?

7:35Exodus 12. Did we go up to 12? I think

7:38it was Exodus chapter 12. I don't think

7:39I ever go past 13 when I'm helping

7:41people. I think we got to Exodus 12,

7:44right? Come on, OG's. I see y'all. We

7:46got to Exodus 12 and then we're back

7:49here. We're in Genesis. We're going to

7:51get all the way through Genesis. Okay,

7:53that's all right. You brought one Bible.

7:55That's fine. All right. We're going to

7:57get all the way through Genesis. We have

7:59to. Okay, because it is so much

8:01information. Does everyone remember what

8:03we talked about the last uh two weeks

8:04ago? Do you all do y'all remember? Oh,

8:08baby. My counseling my counseling

8:09sessions are closed. It's just way too

8:11many people. [laughter]

8:13I promise y'all put out that waiting

8:14list, but it's been a lot. Hello,

8:16mother. What's wrong? You going to turn

8:18the fan? You just knew I was going to be

8:21hot.

8:21>> Yes.

8:22>> Thank you.

8:24Thank you so much. Can you hear me or

8:25are you in study? Oh,

8:28>> okay. Okay,

8:30I pray.

8:32>> Are y'all gonna pray? Yes. Please do.

8:35Thank you so much. [snorts] Thank you.

8:37Thank you. Thank you. Okay. Uh but yeah,

8:39so y'all remember we talked about the

8:41proto evangelium. Do y'all remember

8:43that? We talked about that. We got

8:46through your mama kid. It's just me,

8:49Tanisha. It's just me.

8:53Yes. Okay. Y'all remember that? Uhhuh.

8:55Foreshadowing Jesus.

8:59Does everybody remember that? Y'all

9:00y'all good? You remember that? I do have

9:02my water. Okay. Okay. Okay, I just want

9:04to make sure because last week, if y'all

9:06haven't, uh, go back and look over the

9:08YouTube because

9:10it was packed. Last week was a packed

9:13one. Okay? And we're going to be jumping

9:15from that and we're going to keep going.

9:17Y'all know after that, the the Bible is

9:19really just like a map after that. It's

9:22a map. [laughter]

9:25It's a map. And the Bible is full of

9:26drama, too. So, you know, y'all don't

9:28got to go out there and get no teeth

9:29from anybody else. You just weeping by.

9:33[laughter]

9:35Oh, well, thank you. I appreciate that.

9:36Okay. I just want y'all to know y'all.

9:39Okay, y'all. Get to You want some tea?

9:44You want tea? Yeah. Okay. All right,

9:47y'all. Let me go and get started. We

9:48already been 10 minutes in. [laughter]

9:50Heavenly Father, we thank you for

9:51bringing us together in this fellowship

9:52right now, Father God, in this Bible

9:54study to be able to receive the word of

9:56God and to spread the gospel to those

9:58who are in need right now, Father God.

10:00Father God, we come up against any type

10:01of distraction, anything that is trying

10:03to take our mind away from this blessing

10:05in this moment. And Father God, I ask

10:07that you illuminate this space and you

10:09illuminate our minds and our hearts with

10:10the word of God, Father God, that we are

10:12receptive to the knowledge that you have

10:14bestowed upon us, Father God. And we

10:17thank you for the blood in this moment,

10:18Father God. But all of us understand

10:20that as we continue to walk this life,

10:22we have to carry our cross with us. And

10:24though people may want us to do certain

10:26things, we are children of God and we

10:28have to be examples for we understand

10:30that we are image bearsers and we bear

10:32the image of you, Father God. We ask

10:34that you restore us back to the likeness

10:35of you, Father God, even throughout this

10:37study and studies after and whatever it

10:40is that you speak to us through, Father

10:41God. So, I want to take the time to

10:43exalt your name because wonderful is

10:46your name. Mighty is your power, mighty

10:49is your name. Thank you for being our

10:51strong tower. Thank you for being our

10:52shepherd. Thank you for being

10:53provisional. Thank you for being the

10:55relational father God. Aba Father, we

10:57thank you and we want to take the time

10:59to show you our love and to show you our

11:02obedience to you, Father God. We know

11:04that in these spaces, this is the

11:06ultimate sacrifice and we are sacrifices

11:08to your word, to your call, Father God.

11:11So let those who feel in this moment

11:12where they feel a tug of being

11:14disobedient or rebellious in the in the

11:17fleshly realm, Father God, I ask that

11:18you call upon an obedience in the

11:20spiritual realm, Father God, that we

11:21stay worded and grounded in the word of

11:24God and we stay at the feet of the

11:25throne, Father God. So as we carry

11:27through this Bible study, Father God,

11:29open our hearts to be able to receive

11:30you in the mighty and matchless name we

11:32pray. Amen. All right, y'all. Let's get

11:36it popping, right? [laughter]

11:39Let's get it popping. All right. Yeah.

11:42Genesis full of tea. You read Genesis,

11:45you like he did what? He said who?

11:48[laughter]

11:48All right, y'all. So, we are starting

11:50off. Does everyone have the scripture?

11:52Amen. We are starting off at if somebody

11:53can drop the script the scripture in the

11:56comment section. We are at Genesis 3:15.

12:00Okay. And we're going to end at Genesis

12:034:15.

12:05Okay.

12:07Y'all got that? Thank you. Thank you,

12:09Betsy. Y'all got that? We here. Okay.

12:13I'm I'm in great spirits. Yes,

12:15[laughter]

12:16I am. Okay. I serve a mighty God. Okay.

12:20And plus, I love being here. I I love

12:22doing Bible study with you all. I I love

12:24it. Okay. Uhhuh. All right. Okay, y'all.

12:28So, we're going to go ahead. Like I

12:28said, we're going to I'm going to be in

12:30the complete Ethiopian Bible. Whatever

12:32you all are in is fine. We'll follow. We

12:35will not have a lot of key terms. I hope

12:37you all have your highlighters. It's

12:39okay to highlight in the Bible. You're

12:40not going to hell if you highlight.

12:42Okay? It's okay to write in your Bible.

12:44You're not going to hell. You ain't

12:45gonna make God mad. Okay? Y'all see I'm

12:48clearly I'm a highlighter. Okay.

12:51[laughter]

12:52All right. Uh the title, y'all like,

12:55"Kitty, what's the title?" Yeah. Stop

12:57all that. Sin is crouching at the door.

13:04Sin

13:06is crouching

13:09at the door, [snorts]

13:12just prowling,

13:15waiting at the door. How many of you all

13:18can say that y'all y'all have had an

13:20experience where sin was right there

13:21crouching at the door where God was

13:23telling you something and sin was like,

13:25"But you know, you can just How many of

13:27y'all ever had a moment where you felt

13:29like your trauma made you rebellious to

13:30God?" Hm. How many of y'all ever had a

13:33moment where you feel like the

13:34relationship and the people made you

13:35rebel against God and disobedient to his

13:38instruction or sin was just right there

13:40to devour you and take you in and make

13:42you turn against God?

13:45Yeah. Anybody don't don't be too cute

13:48with it. We all have. I have. Right.

13:51Okay. So, sin is crouching at the door.

13:53Let me go ahead and open my notes. I was

13:55going to start reading y'all.

13:57Let me move some stuff. Hold on, y'all.

13:58Let me move this over real quick. Give

14:00me one second. I want to move this

14:02screen over a little bit.

14:05Yeah, let's do that. I want to move this

14:07over a little. It's kind of in my way.

14:10[clears throat]

14:11Lord, I worship you.

14:14I know. I've been there, too. All right,

14:16let's see. I want to move this out the

14:18way, y'all. So, just work with me for a

14:19second. Okay, there we go. Now, I can

14:22see I can see everybody now. And

14:24hopefully Okay. Sorry, y'all. I didn't

14:27have my screens like I want them. I'm

14:29really picky about my screens cuz I need

14:31to be able to see y'all. Okay.

14:34Okay. All right. So, let's go ahead and

14:36get into the word of God and then we'll

14:37go over some key terms and we'll get

14:39this is going to be a full Bible study,

14:41y'all. So, I hope y'all are ready to

14:43take some notes. Okay. I know y'all are

14:45ready. Okay. So, in the Ethiopian in the

14:47complete Ethiopian Bible,

14:50verse 15, chapter 3. Okay. And I will

14:54put hostility between you and the woman

14:58and between your offspring and her

15:00offspring. This is a proto evangelian.

15:02Remember that. Okay. Her offspring will

15:05attack your head and you will attack her

15:06offspring's heel. To the woman he said,

15:09I will greatly increase your labor

15:11pains. With pain you will give birth to

15:13children. You will want to control your

15:16husband for he will dominate you. But to

15:19Adam he said, "Because you obeyed your

15:21wife and ate from the tree about which I

15:24commanded you, you must not eat from.

15:27Cursed is the ground thanks to you."

15:30I would hate for God to say cursed is

15:32something thanks to me. Cuz what?

15:34[laughter] Cursed is a God. Cursed is

15:36the ground thanks to you. In painful

15:38toil, you will eat of it all the days of

15:41your life.

15:44It will produce thorns and thistles for

15:46you, but you will eat the grain of the

15:47field. By the sweat of your brow,

15:51by the sweat of your brow, you will eat

15:54food until you return to the ground.

15:57Jesus, for out of it you were taken, for

16:00you are dust, and to dust you will

16:02return. The man named his wife Eve

16:05because she was the mother of all

16:07living. The Lord God made garments from

16:09skin for Adam and his wife and clothed

16:11them. And the Lord God said, "Now that

16:13the man has become like one of us,

16:15knowing good and evil, he must not be

16:16allowed to stretch out his hand and take

16:18also from the tree of life and eat and

16:21live forever." So the Lord God expelled

16:24him from the orchard orchard orchard

16:29in Eden.

16:32I'm sorry y'all. To cultivate the ground

16:34from which he had been taken. When he

16:36drove the man out, he placed on the

16:37eastern side of the orchid in Edom. I'm

16:39sorry I say orchid. I know some of y'all

16:41say orchard, but I say orchard, so I

16:42don't know. However y'all want to say

16:43it. In Eden, cherubim, who or angels who

16:47used the flame of a whirling sword to

16:49guard the way to the tree of life. Okay,

16:52now we going to get into chapter four.

16:53Y'all, I'mma stop being goofy. I'mma be

16:55serious. Now, the man had marital

16:57relationships with his wife. What did

16:59y'all say? What did y'all say in uh

17:01verse one? What does it say? And Adam

17:04knew Eve was his wife. Is that what it

17:06says? And Ethiopian said, "Now the man

17:08had marital relationships with his wife

17:10Eve, and she became pregnant and gave

17:12birth to Cain. Then she said, "I have

17:14created a man just as the Lord did."

17:18Then she gave birth to his brother Abel.

17:21Abel took care of the flocks while Cain

17:24cultivated the land. At the designated

17:26time, I want y'all to listen. Cain

17:28brought some

17:31some

17:32of the fruit of the ground for an

17:34offering to the Lord. But Abel

17:37brought some of the firstborn of his

17:39flock, even the fattest of them. Okay?

17:43And the Lord was pleased with Abel and

17:45his offering. But with Cain and his

17:47offering, he was not pleased. So Cain

17:49became very angry,

17:52very angry, and his expression was

17:54downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain,

17:57"Why are you angry? And why is your

17:59expression your expression facial

18:01downcast?

18:03[clears throat]

18:05It is not, is it not true that if you do

18:07what is right, you will be fine. But if

18:10you do not do what is right, sin is

18:12crouching at the door. It desires to

18:15dominate you, but you must subdue it.

18:19Come on now. Cain said to his brother

18:21Abel, "Let's go out to the field." Cain

18:25said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out

18:27to the field."

18:28>> [clears throat]

18:30>> While they were in the field, Cain

18:32attacked his brother Abel and killed

18:33him. Then the Lord said to Cain,

18:36"Where's your brother Abel?"

18:39And he replied, "I don't know. Am I my

18:41brother's guardian?"

18:43But the Lord said, "What have you done?

18:46The voice of your brother's blood is

18:47crying out to me from the ground. So now

18:49you are banished from the ground, which

18:51has opened his mouth to receive your

18:53brother's blood from your hand. when you

18:55try to cultivate the ground, which is

18:57what his job was. That's what his

18:59identity was, right? It would no longer

19:01yield its best for you, you will be a

19:03homeless wanderer on the earth. Then

19:05Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is

19:07too great to endure." He didn't He

19:09didn't He wasn't remorseful. He was

19:12worried about his punishment, y'all.

19:13Look, you are driving me off the land

19:15today, and I must hide from your

19:16presence. I will be a homeless wanderer

19:19on the earth. Whoever finds me will kill

19:21me. But the Lord said to him, "All

19:23right, if anyone kills Cain, Cain will

19:26be avenged seven times as much."

19:31Then the Lord put a special mark on Cain

19:32so that no one who found him will strike

19:35him down. Okay y'all, a couple things

19:37that we saw so far.

19:40Couple things that we saw so far.

19:43We saw the first gospel, right? We saw

19:46the first gospel in 3:15,

19:50right? He was being a smart buddy. So

19:52the hope I would never Okay, we saw what

19:55was the first gospel

19:57in 3:15.

19:59We saw sin enter into the into the

20:01Garden of Eden. We sin. We saw how sin

20:04was divisive and the consequences of

20:06sin. But one thing I want to go back to

20:08y'all for a second before we get into

20:10key terms. I want y'all to look at verse

20:1321 and chapter 3.

20:15I want y'all to look at verse 21 and

20:17chapter 3. God is a God of justice and

20:20mercy. Both.

20:23Both. Okay? Not just one. Both. Okay? I

20:26know sometimes people don't want to

20:27believe it. They disobeyed God. They

20:31tried to hide themselves behind fig

20:34leaves from a fig tree. They tried to

20:36cover themselves in shame and said, "Oh

20:38my God, we're naked. We got to cover

20:39up." That's temporary. But what y'all

20:42see in chap in verse 21, the Lord God

20:45made garments from skin.

20:48The Lord God made garments. The Lord God

20:52made garments from skin. That means that

20:54there was an there was an animal that

20:55was sacrificed for him to be able to

20:57cover them.

20:59There was an innocent animal that was

21:03sacrificed for him to cover them. The

21:06first sacrifice. Absolutely. I want

21:09y'all to hear that. By his mercy, there

21:13was an innocent animal,

21:17there was a shedding of innocent blood

21:21to cover them. Not a temporary covering

21:25to cover them. Not like them fig trees.

21:29Y'all get that?

21:31Even though there was still a

21:33consequence, God said, "You going to

21:34work by the sweat of your brow. You

21:35going to always have labor pains. You

21:36going to want to control your husband.

21:37You're not going to be able to do that.

21:39You going to till this ground and you

21:40going to be tired and that's the only

21:41way that you going to eat. There are

21:42consequences. However, my mercy

21:47there are consequences for what you did.

21:49However, my mercy

21:53come on y'all. Y'all know what I'm

21:55talking about. Let's get Let's get into

21:56it. I'm sorry y'all. My mercy.

22:00Exactly. Do any of y'all believe that

22:02God's mercy covers us? Come on now.

22:05Y'all know.

22:07Come on now. Come on. Okay. So, let's

22:09get into it. Let's get into Let's get

22:10into our study. Okay. Let's get into our

22:12study. There was sorrow um in the

22:16consequences that they had. That means

22:18what we saw with Adam is there was going

22:19to be painful toll. That means that was

22:21going to come with hardship, distress. I

22:23think we talked about that the last

22:24time. A lot of emotional grief that was

22:26going to happen. Okay? There was going

22:28to be a lot of that. What we notice also

22:31is in the word of God if what would have

22:33happened if they would have ate from the

22:35tree of life. They ate from the first

22:37tree then sin entered, right? They they

22:40knew now they had a different type of of

22:42awareness and it wasn't the divine

22:44wisdom that they thought they were going

22:45to have. It wasn't that oh we going to

22:47match up and be gods and goddesses. It

22:49wasn't that.

22:51But they had a new awareness. Now they

22:52were conscious of everything which is

22:54why they knew they were naked. Now

22:55they're conscious and now they have done

22:57evil. They're conscious. They know evil

23:00and it's experiential.

23:02That means that there was an experience

23:04of the evil. It's not like someone told

23:06them, "Hey, look." No, they experienced

23:09sin.

23:11So now, if you eat from the tree of

23:12life,

23:14then what's going to happen?

23:18Y'all get what I'm saying? Like, so God,

23:20when people look and say, "Oh, you know,

23:22God's just mean." No, God was mindful.

23:25We saw in 3:15 there was a promise of

23:27redemption, right? We saw that that's

23:29the proto evangelium that we were

23:30talking about, right? There were going

23:31to there was going to be a seed from a

23:32woman and we went down the lineage and

23:34all of that. Then we saw the

23:35consequences of the fall.

23:38Now we're about to see the spread of sin

23:40as sin goes from one person to another

23:42person and sin keeps going. It's now a

23:44cycle. It keeps going. But even still,

23:48we still see God's mercy. Okay. To give

23:51y'all a little runback for those, I will

23:53put enmity. I will put hatred, a deep

23:55hatred between you and the woman and

23:57between your seed and her seed. He shall

23:59bruise your head and you shall bruise

24:01his heel. That is what we call a proto

24:03evangelum. That means that was the first

24:05proclamation of the gospel. If anybody

24:08missed last week, that was the first

24:09proclamation of the gospel. Immediately

24:12after sin enters the world,

24:16God is saying that evil will not

24:18ultimately prevail. There's going to be

24:20I'm going to do something about this.

24:24So, we already see there's a

24:25foreshadowing of Jesus right there. So,

24:27when people say Jesus was just in the

24:28New Testament, think again. You can read

24:29Isaiah and everybody else. They were

24:30talking about it. Okay. So, God

24:33addresses the woman. Y'all stop raising

24:36y'all hands real quick. That's that's

24:37easy to me. God addresses the woman.

24:41Then he addresses the man. He addresses

24:42creation. Right? We see that the woman

24:44is going to have pain when she has

24:45childbirth. This is the consequences of

24:47sin. There has to be some type of

24:49justice and there has to be a

24:50consequence for you not to go back.

24:52She's going to have a painful child

24:53birth. She's going to try to control her

24:54husband. She's not going to be able to.

24:56Now, there's going to be tension and

24:58struggle. So, even in the first marriage

25:00that was recorded, what you see is God

25:02saying there's going to be conflict and

25:03contempt.

25:05Y'all are going to have that. There's

25:07going to be a back and forth that's

25:08going to happen in your relationships

25:09and your marriage between man and woman.

25:12The unfortunate thing is, as I see it, I

25:14see it even in the gender wars that we

25:15have faced for the past couple years.

25:16There's constantly going to be a back

25:18and forth in conflict. That's the way I

25:20see it, but I'm looking at a little bit

25:21different. Okay. The ground became

25:23cursed.

25:25Mhm. Provision would come through labor,

25:27sweat, and difficulty. So, whenever you

25:30see whenever you see the dynamic of of

25:32women and men, you see women, they want

25:33family and they want children and stuff

25:35and all that. And men, they want to be

25:36able to provide. It's in the word of

25:38God. It's right there. If you ever talk

25:40to people about their values, usually

25:42when it comes to women, their first

25:43couple of values are going to be family

25:44oriented. It's going to be relational.

25:46And then if you talk to a man, his first

25:48couple of values, his first couple of

25:49core values are going to probably be

25:50about provision and stability, financial

25:53stability. Well, it's right there in

25:55Genesis. It already says it's what it's

25:56going to be.

26:00That's it says it right there. So,

26:01whenever you see like women who like, I

26:03can't have children. I struggle with

26:05that. I don't know. And they they have a

26:07hard time accepting that. And you see

26:08men who have a hard time with accepting

26:10not being provisional, it's from the

26:11beginning. This is this is the struggle

26:14from the beginning.

26:16Okay.

26:17Okay. So, death now enters the human

26:20experience. That's not what God wanted

26:21for humanity. Okay. For dust you are and

26:24to dust you shall return.

26:27We were formed from dust. It's it's also

26:28a way to keep us humble too cuz look,

26:30remember where you came from. You were

26:31dust.

26:33You can go back. Okay. So now the

26:36ultimate consequence of sin was now

26:39mortality.

26:41That was the ultimate consequence of

26:44sin.

26:45Right. Okay. Let's let's keep going. So

26:48when we see grace in the midst of

26:49judgment, right? We see Adam names his

26:52his wife Eve that meaning life. Okay.

26:55She was a mother of the living. I don't

26:56think we really got to cover much of

26:57that. We know what that means. Okay.

26:59Despite that flaw though, life continues

27:03and the promise of the coming seed

27:05remains. So despite sinning,

27:08God still had a promise. There was still

27:10a promise that was made. How merciful is

27:13our God? Right? The reason why we went

27:16from Exodus all the way to 12 back to

27:18Genesis is because I need people to see

27:20how merciful God has always been.

27:23Cuz when you read Exodus, it can look

27:25like, God, why were you doing this to

27:26the Egyptians? Why were you doing this

27:28to Pharaoh and stuff like that, but you

27:29can see how merciful God was. So when

27:32you have to go through Noah and

27:33everything else, you'll see like, I see

27:35why God was mad.

27:37He's been merciful.

27:39Even when they rebelled against him, God

27:42has always been merciful.

27:45We serve an amazing God. God makes their

27:48garments. We we talked about that. We

27:50talked about that introduces the first

27:52theme, right? Well, one of the first

27:53theme, not the first theme, but one of

27:54the first themes that this introduces is

27:56that something innocent must die to

27:59cover human shame. So, when you get to

28:01the crucifixion of Jesus, you take it

28:03all the way back to Genesis. take it

28:06back to the garments and say, "Oh,

28:09it's all a foreshadowing of Jesus

28:11Christ. It's all a foreshadowing."

28:14Because it later it anticipates the

28:17sacrificial system that we see later and

28:20the ideal of atonement. Nothing in the

28:22word of God is wasted. Okay? If you look

28:25at the Hebrew word for tunics and some

28:27of the translations, it'll say tunics

28:29instead of garment. It refers to a

28:30durable clothing that covers the body.

28:34It it refers to a durable

28:37What's another word that y'all think of

28:39when when you hear the word durable?

28:40What's another word y'all think of?

28:44In the Hebrew word for for tunics, which

28:46is tough, right? There we go. Strong.

28:48I'm so glad that. That's the word I'm

28:50looking for. It refers tunics in some of

28:53the translation when it talks about

28:54garments refers to a durable clothing

28:56that covers the body. This indicates

28:59that something stronger and more

29:01permanent was going to be used than fig

29:03trees. This indicates that something

29:05stronger and more permanent was going to

29:09be used instead of fig trees. When Adam

29:11and Eve realized that they were naked,

29:14they sold fig trees together to cover

29:16themselves. Those fig trees, those cover

29:19and they represent a human attempt to

29:21manage shame and guilt. A human attempt

29:24to manage shame and guilt is just simply

29:26not going to work. Their solution was

29:28temporary. Whenever we try to hide from

29:30God and we try to manage our shame and

29:32guilt, it's always temporary. We can

29:34never go by our own strength. So, it was

29:36temporary and it was insufficient by

29:38them using the fig leaves. And then here

29:41comes God.

29:44Here comes God that says, "I'm going to

29:46give you something stronger."

29:49There you go. Y'all know God loves to

29:51talk in metaphors.

29:53We got to dig. That's why we study the

29:55word. That's why we just don't read it.

29:57Oh no, you're a challenge. It's why we

29:58study it, right? God said, "I'm going to

30:00give you something stronger and more

30:03permanent." That's going to cover

30:06that shame and that guilt in a way of me

30:09forgiving you. The debt is cleared.

30:12Y'all get that? Am I going too fast?

30:14Y'all understanding me? We together. So

30:16God didn't abandon them. Even though

30:19they abandoned God and they betrayed

30:21God, God did not abandon them. Has

30:23anybody can anybody agree that maybe

30:25we've done something to God

30:27and he never abandoned us? Like he was

30:30still there like Lord I I mean still

30:33there. Let's keep going. Okay. So we

30:36already talked about that. So the first

30:38death that we actually see in scripture

30:40is this animal. Even though it doesn't

30:42say the actual animal, it was animal

30:43skin. So where's the animal at? First

30:45death was an animal. Okay. That's the

30:47first death that's documented in

30:49scripture. An innate life, an in sorry,

30:51innocent life was given so that the

30:53guilty can be covered. I want to make

30:54sure y'all write that down. An innocent

30:56life is given so that the guilty can be

31:00covered. Thank you, Christ Jesus. Okay.

31:02The atonement through sacrifice. I want

31:04to make sure we got that thing. Okay.

31:06Okay. Let's keep going. Genesis 22- 24.

31:09Okay. Then the Lord God said, "Behold,

31:12the man has come like us." Right? We

31:14talked about that very briefly. There

31:16was now an experience. There was a moral

31:18awareness. Okay. God said you cannot eat

31:22from the tree of life.

31:24If humans were to live forever and they

31:26were compromised in a fallen condition,

31:30they would be living in a corrupt state.

31:33Couldn't imagine that. So they were

31:35expelled from the garden.

31:38Mhm. And there is an angel and a flaming

31:40sword that guards the entrance. If you

31:43try to find the Garden of Eden on on the

31:45map, you're probably not going to find

31:46it. We're talking about something more

31:47spiritual now, right? So the but the

31:49sword, the flaming sword was to prevent

31:52them from trying to reenter. God made

31:54sure that they couldn't.

31:57Mhm.

32:04Oh, I don't I don't know what that what

32:05are y'all saying? Innocent life. What

32:07were y'all saying?

32:10An innocent life was given so that the

32:12guilty can be covered. Is that what

32:13y'all talking about? Yeah. that an

32:15innocent life was given. Uh-huh. So that

32:17the guilty can be covered. Right. Okay.

32:19I see what y'all saying. Okay. So now we

32:21already through here. We we done got

32:22through the chapter 3. Let's get to

32:24chapter 4 because this is where we start

32:25getting good, right? This is where we

32:27really start talking. Let's talk about

32:28Cain and Abel. The one thing I want

32:30y'all to see. There's a difference in

32:32the King James version.

32:35Let me see. It says yes. Um, hold on.

32:38Let me pull my King James cuz I got my

32:39New King James. What's the New King

32:41James Version? But in the New King James

32:43version in uh chapter 4, the first

32:45verse, it says, "And Adam knew Eve his

32:48wife." And [snorts] then if you look in

32:49the Ethiopian version, it says, "Now the

32:51man had marital relationships with his

32:53wife Eve."

32:56Okay,

32:58can we talk about that for a minute,

32:59y'all? Can we go deep for a second?

33:01Y'all with me? Just flow with me. We

33:03going to go deep for just a a split

33:05second. I have to talk about this

33:06because we got to talk about it. New in

33:08Hebrew means yada. Okay. Sexual. NLT

33:11says sexual. Okay.

33:14Yada means to know, to understand, to

33:16experience,

33:18to become intimately acquainted with. So

33:22when Genesis says Adam and Eve, Adam

33:25knew Eve, sorry. It describes a deeply

33:28personal union, not just a physical act.

33:33So when people say sex is just physical,

33:36it's not. It is a deep knowing. It now

33:39becomes a personal union which is why it

33:42was reserved for marriage. It took me a

33:44while to fully understand that. Okay? It

33:46took me a very long time to fully

33:47understand that. Amen. Okay? [snorts]

33:49And so sex in scripture is not presented

33:53as this is just biological. This is this

33:55is just something physical. It's not

33:56that. It's tied to covenant. It's tied

33:59to unity. It's tied to a relational

34:02knowing. A knowing that's so much more

34:04deeper than just our bodies.

34:08It's a deep knowing. So when you think

34:11about how many people you know,

34:14okay, I'm not going to take it there

34:15because, you know, God had to whoop my

34:16butt on that. But when you think about

34:18how many people actually know you, how

34:21many people have you laid with in

34:23Genesis earlier on? Okay. Okay. Guilty.

34:27Okay. In earlier on in Genesis, it says

34:30the two shall become one flesh. It says

34:33that the two come on y'all think

34:35spiritually. Think deeper than this. The

34:36two shall become one flesh. That's in

34:38Genesis chapter 2. I think like 24

34:39something like that. Uh but the idea of

34:41knowing expresses a unity. Sex is

34:44portrayed is portrayed as a moment where

34:46two lives two lives two lives

34:51are joined in vulnerability

34:53and intimacy.

34:58Throughout

35:00scripture,

35:03sexual intimacy is linked with knowledge

35:06and covenant,

35:08not merely

35:10desire.

35:12This is why sexual relationships outside

35:15of covenant are treated so seriously in

35:18the Bible

35:21because now this person, there's a

35:24knowing that takes place. And each time

35:26you attach yourself to somebody, there's

35:28a knowing that takes place. And then

35:30when you detach from that person, hey

35:32baby. And then when you detach from that

35:34person,

35:37some of you is taken with them.

35:40I promise y'all I'm not I'm not going to

35:42get that deep. Okay? I promise y'all I

35:45am. I'm on subject. I'm I'm I'm staying

35:48on subject. This is what we talking

35:49about. We're talking about this. I'm not

35:52going to go too deep that way. I'm going

35:53to stay here. But I want y'all to

35:55understand that this was because it's in

35:56scripture, so I got to talk about it. It

35:58was reserved.

36:03It was reserved for for covenant for

36:07that reason. And I say that because this

36:09is the reason why I'm talking about it.

36:10For one, it's in scripture, so I have to

36:12talk about it. But I want people to

36:14understand that this is the reason why

36:15when we start reading the word of God

36:17more, especially in Genesis where there

36:19was a lot of sexual sin, you're going to

36:21understand why God was so serious about

36:24how he treated sexual relationships.

36:27Okay.

36:30Okay. I'm sorry. Okay. It wasn't about

36:31me. Sorry. Okay. Because now whenever

36:35you have sex with a person, there now

36:37involves a level of exposure

36:41and union that scripture treats as

36:43sacred.

36:45Key word sacred. We'll come we'll be in

36:48Genesis. So we'll we'll flow from that a

36:49little bit a little bit more later. But

36:51I want y'all to understand it because it

36:53said he knew her. That's a deep knowing.

36:56And so sometimes when we start thinking

36:58about the sex that we've had before

36:59marriage, how many people really know

37:01you? Soul ties are real. Okay, let's

37:04keep going. I'm sorry, y'all. I'm keep

37:06going. Okay,

37:08we're going to keep going. All right, so

37:10Eve gives birth to Kane. She gives birth

37:12to Cain first, right? Yeah, that that

37:14was a whooping on me. I remember the

37:16first time I read it, I was like, "Oh,

37:17Lord, it's a whole lot of people I had

37:19to unknow." Y'all hear me? It's a whole

37:23lot of people I had to unknow.

37:26Okay. All right. So, Eve gave birth to

37:28Cain first. She said, "I've acquired a

37:31man with the help of the Lord." And then

37:34later she gives birth to Abel. Okay.

37:38[snorts] Now, what you'll see is the

37:40reason why because there's two v there's

37:42two different vocations between Cain and

37:44Abel and it reflects their livelihood.

37:47You have Cain that worked the soil. Cain

37:50was after working the ground, tilling

37:51the ground. And then you had Abel who

37:54tend to the flock, right?

37:57Y'all remember in uh in like Exodus,

38:00they really didn't take shepherds

38:02serious. There was certain people who

38:03didn't care for shepherds, but we'll get

38:04to that later. Okay, so there is already

38:07a contrast between these two brothers

38:09that is already set right here. The

38:11stage was already set for the first

38:13conflict. It was already set for the

38:15first conflict between humans was

38:18already set right here. You had one who

38:20tilled the ground. Can y'all imagine if

38:22you get to move around the sheep and

38:24stuff and then you got your brother who

38:25is over there slaving on the ground.

38:28Can y'all imagine that? Like of course

38:31if you're not jealous, you know, you

38:32don't worry about but I just want y'all

38:33to like really think about that. Really

38:36think about that. Like it already set

38:38the stage for there to be conflict. So

38:40both brothers

38:42both brothers later on we go we keep

38:44reading. Both of the brothers gave an

38:46offering to God.

38:50several intentional distractions in the

38:52chat tonight. Uh,

38:58okay. It's Well, I don't know what's

39:00going on, y'all, but we going to keep

39:01going. Um, I I just want to y'all just

39:04we going to keep going, okay? It's okay.

39:07Let's smooth it over, okay? We don't

39:09need no distractions. All right. So,

39:11there were two different offerings.

39:13I love you all. Let's we stay we we

39:15brothers and sisters in Christ. Let's

39:16stay on track. Okay. Both brothers bring

39:18offerings to God. Cain offers produce

39:21from the ground. Not the first.

39:25He just offers some of his fruit. That's

39:26what the Ethiopian Bible says. He

39:28offered some some of the produce. Not

39:30all of it. Some of it. Not the first or

39:33some of it. Not not the good selection

39:34of it. Just some. And then Abel,

39:37however, offers the firstborn of his

39:40flock and their fat portions. Exactly.

39:43So God says, "I accept Abel's offerings

39:48because they were given in faith." And

39:50you'll see that later because Paul talks

39:51about that. He says, "I Yes, Paul." He

39:54said, "I accept this offering because it

39:56was given in faith."

39:59But Cain's offering was not given in

40:01faith. It was more like a here God.

40:03It was more like a Here you go. You can

40:05get the Ethiopian Bible on Amazon. it. I

40:07I'll put it in in there in a minute, but

40:09it was like it was more like a hear God.

40:13You're already starting to see the

40:14character, right?

40:17So then as God is is talking to them,

40:20Kane gets upset. And God is like, "Well,

40:22if you do right, you'll be fine.

40:26If you just you have a God said, I'm

40:28giving you a chance to make this right."

40:32He said, "Listen to what I'm saying,

40:34y'all. God told Cain, "I'm giving you a

40:37chance to make this right. What your

40:39brother gave to me was done in faith,

40:43but I'm giving you a chance." Does God

40:45not give us chances?

40:49He said, "I am giving you a chance to

40:51make this right."

40:55And then Cain now has a downcast and

40:58he's angry. He's very angry. Like, this

40:59ain't a little bit of anger. Like, man,

41:02here we go. It wasn't that. like he was

41:04angry like it now you can see the heart

41:08behind what he was doing it the the

41:10issue wasn't the gift it was the heart

41:13behind it and that's what God was trying

41:15to tell him it's your heart behind it

41:18you probably gave me something because

41:20you felt like you were supposed to give

41:21me something but he gave me something in

41:23faith it's a tad bit different so it's

41:26now it's the heart behind it and then

41:28God talks directly to Cain and he said

41:30if you do well will you not be accepted

41:34And if you do not do well, sin lies at

41:38the door. Sin is crouching at the door.

41:41Sin is described like a predator waiting

41:44to seize him. Sin to us is like a a

41:47predator waiting to seize us. Do y'all

41:51understand that?

41:53This is the reason why we walk with our

41:54crosses, right? This is the reason why

41:56we walk with the nails in our head and

41:58our feet because we know Satan is

42:00waiting.

42:02And that's exact exactly Satan took this

42:05moment and said, "Let me play on your

42:07anger." How many of you all have seen

42:09people get angry and sin was able to

42:12enter their heart because anger was

42:14already residing in it? This is the

42:16reason why we cast our cares and our

42:18anger onto the Lord. This is the reason

42:21why because when we don't whenever

42:23there's anger that is festering now your

42:25heart starts to become hardened and now

42:28you're not receptive to God's

42:29instruction. You're not even receptive

42:30to the spirit or his voice. Now you are

42:32looking at how can I get revenge? I'm

42:35bitter. I'm resentful. And now sin is

42:38like there we go. Exactly. Don't give

42:40Satan a foothold.

42:42That's all I'm saying.

42:45So God says, "I'm giving you a chance.

42:47But if you

42:49if you don't do well, if you don't do

42:51what's what's right, sin is lying at the

42:53door. A predator." That's what that's

42:55what the enemy is identified as in the

42:58word of God as well. God makes it clear

43:01that Cain still has the ability to

43:04master his impulses. Do y'all understand

43:06that Cain still had the ability to

43:11master his impulses that were coming as

43:13a result of his anger?

43:16He still had the choice to choose

43:18righteousness.

43:22Now, we're really starting to see the

43:24responsibility after the fall, right? He

43:27had a choice. It was jealousy. Jealousy

43:30is a nasty thing. Okay? So then Cain

43:34goes and says, "Abel, let's go out into

43:38the field."

43:41Exactly. No internet or social media to

43:42make him do wrong. Him. Okay. Cain

43:44invites He He This was premeditated

43:47murder, by the way. The first murder was

43:49premeditated. There we go. I like the

43:51way y'all said that. It was

43:52premeditated. He said, "Hey,

43:56why don't you come somebody that he

43:59trusted, Abel trusted Kane, that's my

44:01brother. You wouldn't think your brother

44:03would do that to you. He said, "Hey, why

44:06don't you come in the field?" He comes

44:07in the field and then he kills him.

44:11The first recorded act of violence is

44:13right here in Genesis 4. And it occurs

44:15between two brothers.

44:19So sin has now moved from internal

44:22rebellion from Adam and Eve and them.

44:25That was internal rebellion. Sin has

44:27now, this is how dangerous sin is,

44:29y'all. It has now moved from internal

44:33rebellion, rebelling God's instruction.

44:35It has now moved from we have rebelled

44:38and been disobedient to God to now

44:40external destruction. Now sin is showing

44:43up as killing somebody else. Do we get

44:46that? There's nothing new under the sun.

44:49People try to rewrite the word of God.

44:52You can't rewrite the word of God. This

44:53has been here for thousands of years.

44:55There is nothing new under the sun. It's

44:56the same word. It's the same

44:58experiences. It's the same sin. Ain't

45:00nothing changed. We just got a habit of

45:03trying to change the word of God. I'm

45:05going to keep going y'all so we can get

45:06out of here. Okay. So then God comes.

45:09Remember it went from internal to

45:10external. First it was rebellion here.

45:14Now it's malice. I love that. Who said

45:16that? Shelanda. I love that. Now it's

45:18malice. Okay. I love that. That that is

45:21so great. So then we got now God comes

45:23to Cain. Kane is arrogant. Y'all right.

45:28Kane is we're not g we're not gonna

45:30highlight too many key terms this time.

45:31Yeah, we don't have a lot of we don't

45:33have much of that today. So God comes to

45:35Kane and he said, "Where where's your

45:37brother?"

45:39Kane's snarky.

45:42Kane say, "Am I my brother's keeper?"

45:45Oh,

45:47you don't have no remorse in your heart

45:49for what you've done.

45:52There's no remorse in your heart.

45:55Hm.

45:57Cain. Then we see Cain is denying

45:59responsibility and he's trying to evade

46:02accountability.

46:05And God replies

46:07now that Abel's blood cries out from the

46:10ground. Now, I want us to really think

46:12about blood. This ain't just talking

46:13about the blood that just leaked from

46:15Abel as it is. Now Abel's blood and his

46:20lineage, all that come from him,

46:23the generations that would have flown

46:25from Abel are crying from the ground. So

46:29what I had for Abel, you just killed

46:32that y'all. Do y'all get that?

46:35You just shed innocent blood, which is

46:37the reason why that is one of the

46:38abominations that God calls out in

46:40scripture.

46:43Hands that shed innocent blood. That's

46:45the reason why God called that out. Here

46:47we are. What I had for Abel and the

46:50generations after him is gone because of

46:52your sin.

46:55Come on now. It's more than just the

46:57blood that actually came from the

46:59physical body. You don't know what you

47:00just stopped.

47:05Okay, let's keep going. Let me get let

47:06me get back on track. Okay,

47:09so now he said he screams from the

47:10ground. Now we have the earth who's now

47:12a witness to the injustice.

47:16My God. got onto that. So now God says,

47:19"All right, I'm going to give you your

47:21punishment."

47:24Right? He didn't ask because he didn't

47:26know. God just gives us a chance to

47:28repent. He gives us a chance to talk and

47:31and repent and tell what we've done.

47:34Right?

47:36So now Cain is cursed.

47:39It ain't just going to be the ground

47:40that's cursed. You're cursed. Cain is

47:42cursed.

47:44And the the identity that Cain had was

47:47someone who actually tended to the

47:48ground. And now the very identity that

47:52you've had,

47:54the life that you've lived of working

47:56the ground, now this ground is no longer

47:58going to yield crops for you.

48:03It's not going to.

48:05It's no longer going to yield crops for

48:07you.

48:09So now you see in the word of God now

48:12Cain becomes well let's let's go back

48:14for a minute. Cain is about to become a

48:17restless wanderer on the earth. A

48:19restless y'all a restless wonder.

48:24He going to be gone forever.

48:26He just going to be just wandering

48:28around trying to figure things out. He

48:30ain't going to have no rest. I couldn't

48:31imagine not being able to have any rest.

48:35The very land that once sustained him is

48:37now going to reject him. I could not

48:39imagine. Can y'all imagine that? The the

48:41what God has blessed you with. Can y'all

48:43imagine the things that God has blessed

48:45you with now rejects you? Can y'all

48:46imagine living that kind of life? The

48:48work, the career that God has blessed

48:50you with, the calling that he has placed

48:52on your life and now it rejects you. Can

48:54y'all imagine that? This this is a part

48:56of my identity.

48:59Now it's rejecting me all because you

49:02sinned.

49:07All because you sin. Just just keep

49:09flowing with me. We going to get there.

49:10Keep flowing. Okay.

49:13Now, Kane's fear shows up. Y'all notice

49:16that as you read, Kane still ain't

49:18apologized for killing his brother.

49:19There is no remorse.

49:23There's not any remorse, but God is

49:24still going to show mercy.

49:26God is giving Abel justice right now. He

49:30is showing that these are the

49:31consequences of Cain's sin. I'm giving

49:33you justice, Abel. Even in your debt,

49:36you will have justice. Sometimes we want

49:38our justice to be right then. Sometimes

49:39it won't be until you in the ground.

49:41Okay? But even Abel, for Abel, I'm

49:43giving you justice, Cain, because you

49:46did this. You're going to have the

49:47consequence. So Cain says he still has

49:49not said, Lord, I'm sorry for killing my

49:52brother. I didn't think about that. He

49:53didn't. He wasn't remorseful. He wasn't

49:55repentant. None of that. He complained

49:57that my punishment is going to be too

49:58great. How selfish and arrogant can you

50:01be? Right. That's the first documented

50:03sociopath. Right. Well, actually, Satan

50:06is, but

50:08Kane came next. Okay. [laughter]

50:10Kane complains that my punishment is

50:12going to be too great.

50:14It's going to be too much for me to

50:16bear.

50:17He said, "I'm scared that other people

50:19going to kill me as a wanderer. You

50:21putting a target on my back, God. They

50:23going to kill me as a wanderer. But you

50:26killed your brother. But now you

50:28worrying about somebody taking your

50:29life.

50:32He's afraid that other people going to

50:34kill him in revenge.

50:36So now we see that Cain's focus is on

50:39his own suffering rather than a life

50:41that he took. How selfish is that?

50:44Prideful. I love that queen. Prideful,

50:48right? So God then says, "All right." He

50:51says, "Okay, I'mma put a mark on you so

50:55that no one will kill you." And that

50:57will steal God's protection. Listen to

51:00what I just said. That was still God's

51:04protection. You just killed your

51:05brother, right, Lynette? You are still

51:08merciful. What

51:11God said, I'm I'm going instead of me

51:14shaming you and saying you killed your

51:16brother. You deserve to die. People

51:19should avenge the death of your brother.

51:21God said, "Okay,

51:24I'm going to put a mark on you that

51:27stops the cycle of vengeance.

51:31I'm going to put a mark on you that

51:33stops the cycle of vengeance." We saw

51:35mercy in verse 21 of chapter 3, and we

51:37see mercy again in verse 15 of chapter

51:404. God said, "I'm going to prevent even

51:44though you right, even though you don't

51:46deserve to live, my God." Now we see the

51:50merciful God. Right y'all? We are truly

51:52seeing the merciful God. Even though you

51:55don't deserve to live and you should die

51:57for the things that you have done, for

51:59the sinful acts. You should be going

52:02through what I should be taking you

52:03through. But I ain't going to do that to

52:04you cuz I am a merciful God. And God is

52:08always consistent in his character. He

52:10never changes. I am consistent in who I

52:13am. Absolutely. I am a God of mercy.

52:17Justice and mercy exist together in the

52:20word of God. And we only at chapter 4.

52:22But now we see justice and mercy. They

52:25both exist.

52:27I'm giving your brother justice. There

52:29is a mark on you that lets people know

52:31you are a wanderer. However, my mercy

52:33says that they can't kill you even

52:35though you killed your brother. But you

52:37have to live with the consequences of

52:39your action. But I'm going to preserve

52:40your life. Y'all get that?

52:45We love God, right?

52:49We love that, right? So, we we have God

52:52who's showing up as a protective God

52:54instead of the God who shames you.

53:00As a protective God instead of the God

53:01who shames you.

53:05Yeah.

53:07So, God still showed up in his mercy

53:11and he said, "All right then, if anyone

53:12kills Cain that you will be avenged

53:15seven times." He said, "If anyone kills

53:16you, Cain, you will be avenged seven

53:20times.

53:22If anyone kills you, but you killed your

53:24brother.

53:26You killed your brother. I am avenging

53:29your brother. But if anyone touches you

53:31and you are a murderer just like Moses

53:33like someone said and you are a

53:34murderer, you will be avenged seven

53:37times." Mercyful God, right? His mercy

53:40never fails, right?

53:44So he placed a special mark on him.

53:49That's our Bible study, y'all. That's

53:50our Bible study for today. I told y'all

53:51it was going to be light. It wasn't

53:52going to be nothing heavy because it

53:54ain't nothing heavy until we go further

53:56into Genesis. But I wanted to make sure

53:58that we understood that God showed his

54:00mercy so many times. And we see once

54:03again the foreshadowing of Christ Jesus.

54:06We are seeing all of it work together

54:08because God gave he shed innocent blood.

54:13to cover their guilt and shame in

54:16Genesis. So now we already see the

54:18sacrificial system, right? We talked

54:20about the seed, the proto evangelum, the

54:22first gospel, and we talked about the

54:24seed, right? The seed of a woman, which

54:26was Jesus Christ, right? Which was

54:28confirmed in the parallel scriptures

54:29that we got. So we're we're seeing a

54:31consistent God. He's a God of mercy.

54:35He's a God of justice. And he is a God

54:37of his word. So if God said that it is

54:40going to be so, he said there would be a

54:43seed of a woman,

54:45right?

54:47And we had Jesus Christ. He showed up

54:50and said, "This is the atonement right

54:51here. I gave you something stronger,

54:55more durable, more permanent than what

54:57you tried to do to cover yourself. I

54:59gave you something to cover your sins,

55:02to cover the results of your sin." And

55:04then we see that when Jesus Christ

55:06comes, right? One thing we know about

55:08the word of God is God speaks through

55:10this word and this is why we have to

55:12study because the Holy Spirit will

55:13always reveal something new. The word is

55:14alive and well. This is the reason why

55:17because we need to understand that

55:18Christ Jesus just didn't happen out of

55:21nowhere. It didn't happen just out of

55:23nowhere. There is a movement and there

55:27were themes. So even when we get back to

55:29Exodus and you all see more of the

55:30themes, if y'all haven't got a chance to

55:32see Exodus, hopefully there's enough

55:33that y'all can go back to cuz we covered

55:35Exodus for a while. But God promised

55:37redemption, right?

55:40He promised us redemption.

55:43It was promised early that there would

55:45be a redeemer. He may not have said it

55:47already right here verbatim, but it's

55:49right there. There will be redemption.

55:53And he's merciful.

55:56So when we start getting into Israel and

55:58why people can go into the promised land

56:00and everything else, you are fully going

56:02to understand that. Okay. The only key

56:04word that I really want to focus on was

56:06the new today because we talked about

56:07sorrow the last time. Enmity, of course,

56:09we already know what that is. That's the

56:10hostility and animosity. But that was

56:12the main thing. If y'all are

56:15uh well, let me tell y'all the parallel

56:17scriptures for a moment. So y'all

56:18hopefully y'all got about 5 minutes to

56:20flip through your Bible. Go to Hebrews

56:22chapter 2:14. I'm going to go through

56:24some parallel scriptures real quick. Go

56:26to Hebrews

56:28chapter 2 verse14 cuz I I always want to

56:31make sure that y'all have parallels. so

56:33y'all can understand because I I never

56:36want y'all to think I'm just making

56:37stuff up. I'm not.

56:40Hebrews chapter 2 verse14.

56:44Matter of fact, let me let me pull that

56:46in Ethiop.

56:47Let's do it. Look, I'll do y'all one

56:49better. Give me a second cuz Ethiopian

56:51the way this is, it don't have it to

56:53where I can mark off stuff, y'all. It be

56:56a lie. Okay, work with me. Hebrews,

57:00where you at? Okay. Uh

57:04Hold on.

57:05Give me one second. Y'all said I'm in

57:07the Ethiopian. So, it's kind of It's

57:10funny. What' I tell y'all? Hebrews 2:14.

57:23Okay, hold on. No, I don't want to do

57:25that one, y'all. I'm sorry. I don't want

57:27to do that. Go to 11:4. I don't want to

57:29use that scripture. Let me take that one

57:31off. Go to chapter 11. Hebrews chapter

57:3311 verse4. I'm sorry about that. I don't

57:34want to use that scripture. I don't want

57:36to confuse us. I did write that down,

57:38but I don't want to do that. Hebrewsap

57:3911:4. Say amen when y'all got it. I'm so

57:42sorry. [laughter]

57:43I'm so sorry. Okay. Hebrewsap 11:4. By

57:46faith,

57:48Abel offered God a greater sacrifice

57:50than Cain. By faith. So, if you need to

57:54understand the reason why God was upset

57:56about the offering, here we are in

57:58Hebrews. By faith, Abel offered God a

58:01greater sacrifice than Cain. And through

58:04his faith, he was commended as righteous

58:08because God commended him for his

58:09offerings.

58:12And through his faith, he still speaks

58:14though he is dead. And then it talks

58:17about Enoch. Okay. So there, right

58:19there. So if you need to understand,

58:21well, why in the world did what was the

58:23issue? We see it is confirmed right

58:25here. By faith, Abel offered God a

58:28greater sacrifice than Cain. And through

58:30his faith, by faith, y'all know faith is

58:33a big thing when it comes to God. Even

58:34when you see Abraham, Abraham had faith.

58:38No proof of anything, just faith. Y'all

58:41understand that? So faith is extremely

58:42important when it comes to God.

58:44Leviticus chapter 17 verse 11. Leviticus

58:49chapter 17 verse 11.

58:52I love Lucas even though it'd be a lot

58:56be a whole lot in Leviticus. Chapter 17

58:5811

59:05because of sin.

59:08Sometimes I'm going to be honest with

59:09you JT. Sometimes we don't necessarily

59:10have the answers when it comes to God,

59:12but it was because of sin.

59:16Sometimes that just happens.

59:19sin itself, murder and pride and anger

59:22and hate and all of those things will

59:24kill.

59:27A lot of times it's been times in my

59:28walk where I've asked God, why? Why

59:30didn't you save that person? But I just

59:33don't have the answers for that.

59:36I wish it could have saved Abel, but

59:37then also if it would have saved Abel,

59:42what would have happened? Would would we

59:44be where we are? So it's a lot of things

59:46that I even with that it's like I it

59:49doesn't really give us a confirmed

59:50reason why

59:52I wish you know sometimes we just don't

59:54know what God is doing. Leviticus

59:56chapter 17 verse 11. For the life of

59:58every living thing is in the blood.

1:00:01For the life

1:00:04of every living thing

1:00:08is in the blood.

1:00:10For the life of every living thing is in

1:00:15the blood there. So what sin does what

1:00:18we typically see where there's a pattern

1:00:19in the word of God where there's a

1:00:21battle between righteous and evil.

1:00:23There's a battle between righteous and

1:00:24wicked. Abel was deemed righteous.

1:00:27Cain was deemed wicked.

1:00:30We have seen a lot of righteous people

1:00:32be taken because of wicked people and

1:00:34schemes.

1:00:37But we see the first conflict of

1:00:38righteous and evil. I know y'all see a

1:00:40lot of war between righteous people and

1:00:42evil people all the time. It's in

1:00:44different countries. It's online. I know

1:00:46y'all see it,

1:00:48right? His ways are not our ways. You

1:00:50already got it highlighted. I love it.

1:00:52Isaiah 59, chapter 59, verse two. I'm

1:00:55giving y'all parallel scriptures so

1:00:56y'all can go back and read it. Isaiah,

1:01:00let me [clears throat] flip over to

1:01:01Isaiah. Isaiah, and I'm in Ethiopia,

1:01:03y'all, so give me a second cuz baby,

1:01:06it's a little tough to go through this

1:01:07one. Isaiah 59:E2,

1:01:12but your sinful acts have alienated you

1:01:14from God. There's a separation that

1:01:16happens with sin. You are separated from

1:01:20God. There's a separation. And it says,

1:01:22"But your sinful acts have alienated you

1:01:25from God." There is a separation that

1:01:27happens in sin. It separates you from

1:01:31God.

1:01:35I don't think any of us want to be

1:01:36separated from God.

1:01:38Right. I don't think any of us want to

1:01:41be separated from God. Right.

1:01:43Absolutely. Y'all go to Romans for a

1:01:46second.

1:01:47I think we only got like two or three

1:01:48more parallels. Go to Romans chapter 5

1:01:52verse12. I'm giving y'all scriptures to

1:01:54highlight. So if y'all want to go back

1:01:56and study those, you can. There we go.

1:01:59Come on. Come on. This Ethiopian return

1:02:02me up. Okay. Chapter 5:12.

1:02:06Now y'all know if y'all want the

1:02:07Ethiopian Bible, you ain't going to

1:02:09really be able to put no tabs on it like

1:02:10that cuz it's it's kind sometimes it's

1:02:13all over the place. So then, just as sin

1:02:16entered the world through one man, and

1:02:17death through sin, and so death spread

1:02:19to all people, because all sin. So then,

1:02:23just as sin entered the world through

1:02:25one man, and death through sin, and so

1:02:30death spread to all people because all

1:02:33sinned.

1:02:34Okay, y'all got that? In Revelations

1:02:39chapter 22 verse two, we will see the

1:02:42tree of life again in Revelations.

1:02:45Okay, if y'all want to go and look at

1:02:47that, cool. In Revelations

1:02:5022:E 2,

1:02:53in the new Jerusalem,

1:02:56there is going to be a tree of life.

1:03:00So now, this is in Revelations, okay?

1:03:02That's [snorts] that's something deep.

1:03:03If you new to the Bible, I'm not going

1:03:05to tell you to read that right now.

1:03:07Okay, I'm not going to tell you to read

1:03:08Revelations if you're new to the Bible.

1:03:10Not right now. You got to get a little

1:03:11bit deeper in your word. Okay, but you

1:03:13will see the tree of life again. So, if

1:03:15any of you all are like, "Are we ever

1:03:17going to see the tree of life again?"

1:03:18It's in Revelations. I know people have

1:03:20asked that before. What happens with the

1:03:22tree of life? It's back in Revelations.

1:03:25Okay, it's back in Revelations. Okay,

1:03:30last one is First Peter. Last parallel

1:03:33scripture we have is first Peter chapter

1:03:365 verse 8. This is our last parallel

1:03:38scripture.

1:03:40Let me see if you're in your Ethiopian.

1:03:42It's Peter is going to be like real

1:03:43small to itself and it is going to be

1:03:46like right at the top.

1:03:48There we go. It's going to be like real

1:03:50small in the quarter where you can see

1:03:52where Peter is in the corner.

1:03:55Chapter 5:8. This the last one. 1 Peter

1:03:585:8.

1:03:59Be sober and alert.

1:04:03Be sober and alert. Your enemy, the

1:04:06devil, like a roaring lion.

1:04:09Okay,

1:04:11like we talked about in uh Genesis, he

1:04:14was waiting, right? Crouching, right?

1:04:16Waiting, right? Okay. Your enemy, the

1:04:19devil, like a roaring lion, is on the

1:04:21prow looking for someone to devour.

1:04:27Okay.

1:04:30Be sober and alert. Be vigilant. Be

1:04:34sober and alert. Thank you so much,

1:04:36Destiny. Be sober and alert. Your enemy,

1:04:38the devil, like a roaring lion, is on

1:04:40the prow looking for someone to devour.

1:04:43Resist him.

1:04:45Strong in your faith.

1:04:47Resist him.

1:04:50Strong in your faith. The enemy is

1:04:53always looking for a moment to make you

1:04:55sin. And that's what he did with Cain.

1:04:57He got a hold of his anger. So for all

1:04:59of you all who may have something

1:05:00against somebody,

1:05:03for all of you all who may have anger

1:05:04and unforgiveness in your heart, for all

1:05:07of you all who are struggling to release

1:05:09an offense that was done to you, if that

1:05:12anger sits in your heart, the devil is

1:05:15waiting.

1:05:17He is waiting for the very moment

1:05:21to get you. This is why we stay sober

1:05:24and alert. This is why we stay in the

1:05:26word of God and we stay close to God

1:05:29because Satan is waiting to devour you.

1:05:31Which is why God was telling Cain, if

1:05:33you subdue it,

1:05:36you won't have no problems. But he

1:05:37couldn't. This is the reason why God

1:05:39tells us to resist him. Be strong in

1:05:42your faith. So if there's anything that

1:05:44you holding in your heart,

1:05:46you're going to have to go to God to

1:05:48release it. Because it's going to be

1:05:50that very anger, that very

1:05:51unforgiveness, that very hurt, the

1:05:54resentment, the bitterness that will

1:05:56cause you to sin because Satan's going

1:05:58to get in your ear.

1:06:00Okay? Which is another reason why we're

1:06:02commanded to forgive.

1:06:05Okay? Let's go ahead and leave. Go out

1:06:07in prayer, y'all. I hope you all learned

1:06:08something. What are we taking from

1:06:10today's Bible study? What are we taking

1:06:12from today? I love you all. I'm so happy

1:06:14that you all were here were here. Be

1:06:16country again. What were you all taking

1:06:19from today's study?

1:06:25He is still merciful. Absolutely.

1:06:29Absolutely.

1:06:34Absolutely.

1:06:38Mhm.

1:06:43Someone said, "If that anger can help

1:06:44you through a breakup," I want to tell

1:06:45you that there is a such thing as

1:06:46righteous anger. When something has been

1:06:48done and you know that you're innocent

1:06:49of it, it's okay for you to feel angry.

1:06:52The problem is is that when you allow

1:06:53anger to fester, when you allow anger to

1:06:56sit and it's not being released, the

1:06:58problem is when it's not being released.

1:07:00But when we go to God with our anger, we

1:07:02start to release it. The anger no longer

1:07:04controls our thoughts. It doesn't

1:07:05control what we want to do. So, we don't

1:07:07become impulsive from that anger. So, if

1:07:09we refuse to release that anger, it's

1:07:11going to sit on your heart. And that

1:07:14anger is going to cause you to become

1:07:15bitter and it's going to cause you to

1:07:17become resentful. And then that right

1:07:19there is what's going to you may think,

1:07:20"Oh, I'm getting past this breakup, but

1:07:22now you're holding an offense against

1:07:23somebody." And God commands us to

1:07:25forgive. And a lot of people are not

1:07:27free from what they have been going

1:07:29through in the stronghold because they

1:07:30refuse to forgive. You got to release

1:07:32it. The same way that Christ Jesus died

1:07:34on the cross and that ledger that we

1:07:36have was cleared of all of our debts and

1:07:38all the offenses that were claimed

1:07:39against us. The same way that Jesus died

1:07:41on the cross so there would be no

1:07:44condemnation to us. So that way we are

1:07:46debtree.

1:07:48When it comes to our sins, we don't owe

1:07:51God when it comes to our sins. It's the

1:07:53same way we have to do other people. We

1:07:55can't have the grace from God and the

1:07:58grace that was shed by the blood of the

1:08:00lamb and then say that you got to pay me

1:08:03for what you did to me. But Jesus

1:08:04already paid for it all on the cross.

1:08:07Okay.

1:08:09Okay. And I know that can be tough

1:08:11sometimes. I have a lot of trauma. I

1:08:13have done I've done some things. I've

1:08:15lived through some things. I've been the

1:08:16offended. I've been the offender. I have

1:08:18done I felt I've hurt. I I understand

1:08:20it. But you got to release these things.

1:08:22You got to go repent to God. You got to

1:08:24ask for forgiveness and you got to

1:08:25forgive those cuz what does the Lord's

1:08:27prayer say? Always repeat that.

1:08:31Always repeat what the Lord's prayer

1:08:32says.

1:08:37Come on. Our Father who art in heaven,

1:08:39hallowed be hallowed, not hallowed. H

1:08:41hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

1:08:42thy will be done on earth as it is in

1:08:44heaven. Give us this day our daily

1:08:46bread. and forgive us

1:08:49our trespasses as we forgive those who

1:08:52trespass against us. Forgive us our

1:08:54debts as we forgive our debts hurts.

1:08:58It's right there in the Lord's Prayer is

1:09:00commanded of us to do so. So, a lot of

1:09:02times people say the Lord's prayer and

1:09:03they forget, they just say that one line

1:09:04and forget. No, no, no, no, no. You

1:09:06actually got to do it. The word of God

1:09:08also tells you that when you pray, make

1:09:10sure you forgive. Jesus said that.

1:09:14He said, "Whatever you pray for, it can

1:09:16happen. If you believe it, it can

1:09:17happen. But make sure when you pray, you

1:09:19forgive." So that's the biggest thing to

1:09:20make sure that you release it from your

1:09:22heart. Okay. Okay.

1:09:27Oh, thank you so much, Lynn. I I didn't

1:09:29see the whole message, but I appreciate

1:09:30you. All right, y'all. So, I hope you

1:09:32all had a good Bible study. We going to

1:09:33go ahead and lead out. We're going to go

1:09:35out in prayer, and then I will be back,

1:09:37y'all, in two weeks on Tuesday.

1:09:39Two weeks on Tuesday. And I think all of

1:09:42you all have seen the encouraging words

1:09:43and things like that. I've seen the

1:09:44encouraging messages and stuff. Somebody

1:09:46wrote me in the email. Uh, your name

1:09:49starts with an R. I'm so sorry, but you

1:09:51have really been writing me and stuff.

1:09:53Thank you, Tia, so much y'all. I'm okay.

1:09:55I love God. I carry my cross. I There

1:09:58you are. I see your name. I love God. I

1:10:00carry my cross. And I am doing this for

1:10:02God. And I believe you all are doing

1:10:04this for God, too. Right.

1:10:07We all working in the kingdom, right?

1:10:09Absolutely. All right. Heavenly Father,

1:10:11we thank you for the time that you have

1:10:12spent with us in this moment, Father

1:10:14God. And we are so grateful to be able

1:10:16to be in your presence. What a mighty

1:10:17word this was, Father God. We thank you

1:10:20so much for the mercy that you have

1:10:21extended to us, Father God, and the

1:10:23favor that has been extended to us even

1:10:25when we do not deserve it. Your grace is

1:10:28so sufficient, Father God.

1:10:30And we thank you for showing us what it

1:10:33means to love, to love you. We thank you

1:10:36for opening up our eyes and opening up

1:10:38our hearts to see just how powerful you

1:10:41are, Father God. We are so undeserving.

1:10:45Yet you are a God of justice. You are a

1:10:47God of mercy, Father God. You are the

1:10:50highest judge, Father God. And whomever

1:10:52thinks that they can sit in the seat of

1:10:54the judge by choosing not to forgive,

1:10:56Father God, I ask that you correct them,

1:10:58Father God, for we know that you are a

1:11:00compassionate God, and your character

1:11:03has never changed. And we are so

1:11:06grateful to be able to live in your

1:11:08presence and have this life that you

1:11:10have given us with abundance, Father

1:11:12God. If there is any correction that we

1:11:14need in our life, Father God, please

1:11:15correct us, Father God. If there are any

1:11:17hearts that are failing to repent,

1:11:18Father God, please open those hearts

1:11:20that they will be in your presence and

1:11:22repent for the things that they have

1:11:23done so they can live such a transformed

1:11:25life. Father God, those of who us all of

1:11:28us who are about to be commissioned into

1:11:29these new places, Father God, we ask and

1:11:31we pray for a hedge of protection,

1:11:33Father God. A hedge of protection in

1:11:34whatever room it is that you have

1:11:36designated for us, Father God. For we

1:11:38understand that this is soul business

1:11:40and we are here fighting for souls and

1:11:41we thank you for allowing us to be

1:11:43vessels and entrusting us, Father God.

1:11:45And so I want to take the time to exalt

1:11:47your name on high, Father God. On the

1:11:51mountain tops, I am exalting your name

1:11:53because you are so great and you are so

1:11:57good and worthy are you to be praised.

1:11:59Wonderful is your name. Faithful are you

1:12:02for us to believe and faithful are you

1:12:04who has continued to perform, Father

1:12:06God. And so I ask that this message

1:12:09lives in the hearts of those who have

1:12:10been able to receive it and that it may

1:12:12bless thousands of others to be able to

1:12:13receive the word of God, Father God. So

1:12:15we thank you for this time of fellowship

1:12:17and community, Father God. We thank you

1:12:19for loving us in the mighty and

1:12:21matchless name we pray. Amen. Amen.

1:12:24Amen. Again,

1:12:28everybody be safe. If y'all was on

1:12:31worship, go listen to them songs again.

1:12:33Okay. [laughter]

1:12:36All right. I love you all. I will see

1:12:37you all uh not next Tuesday, but the

1:12:40Tuesday after that. And I'm excited to
