0:49in 1568 horrible Naga did what had not

0:54been done in roughly 230 years he had

0:58conquered the capital and essentially

1:00established a new regime under the ruse

1:03his aim was to restore power to the

1:06ashikaga shogunate he had taken up the

1:08cause of Oishi kaga yoshiji aki using

1:12his military might he cut a bloody path

1:14to Kyoto and made Yoshiaki his new

1:17puppet Shogun now his real aim laid

1:21before him with the power of the

1:23Shogunate in his control and the

1:25strength of his own clan and his allies

1:27at his back

1:28Nobunaga was set out to unify the land

1:31ending the chaos of the single Kochi die

1:33and restoring peace to the nation of

1:36course his first steps towards

1:38unification would be to secure central

1:41Japan the kinky region the only clan

1:44that had physically stood in his way on

1:46his march to the capital was the rokkaku

1:49clan who had since been crushed and

1:51subject to isolation in southern oh me

1:54below them by 1569 the Keita potaka clan

1:58of Issei province would also fall to the

2:01influence of the oda however not all

2:03clans decided to stand against the oda

2:05as when Nobunaga took the capital the

2:08Sousou a clan of yamato province in fear

2:11of the oda decided to abandon their

2:13Miyoshi allies and pledged their loyalty

2:15to Nobunaga

2:17in addition within yamato province we

2:20can also see that Matsunaga he's ahead a

2:22strategically pledged his allegiance to

2:24the oda as well if we remember back to

2:27episode 20 he's ajita had been a

2:30retainer of the Miyoshi who had

2:32eventually split off with them to foster

2:34his own power he would go on to be

2:37instrumental in the assassination of a

2:39shikaka Yoshi Teru in 1565 the only

2:43other large clan that opposed

2:45Nobunaga in the central region was the

2:48Miyoshi when Nobunaga had entered Kyoto

2:51his forces had easily swept all Miyoshi

2:53influence out yet a larger conflict at

2:56arose

2:57to the West in Setsu province Nobunaga

3:00zero commander shibata katsuie had

3:03engaged a larger Miyoshi force holding

3:06them off and allowing the oda

3:07to firmly secure the capital and the

3:09surrounding area without interference

3:12and although hostilities remained

3:14between the oda and Miyoshi the last

3:16threat to Oda rule was none other than

3:19the radical eco iki warrior monks who

3:21controlled various temples throughout

3:23the kinky region and were largely based

3:26at the impenetrable temple fortress of

3:28Yama hongan-ji conflict between the oda

3:32and the ego EG had become intense thus

3:35much effort was put forth by Nobunaga to

3:37eradicate them and their power bases yet

3:41besides the conflicts which raged across

3:43central Japan things in the capital were

3:46somewhat peaceful under Nobunaga's iron

3:49grip he worked to establish a new regime

3:52that would ensure stability and stand

3:54strong in the face of all who stood

3:57against him of course his presence

4:00completely undermined the power of the

4:02new Shogun Yoshiaki who was supposed to

4:05be really the man in charge

4:06unfortunately Yoshiaki had quickly

4:09realized that he had made the wrong

4:11choice when choosing a champion to carry

4:13him to the capital as now it was obvious

4:16he was simply meant to be a puppet of

4:18the oda nobunaga had skillfully kept his

4:21status in an odd form of limbo in aims

4:24to keep the power he held over the

4:26Shogunate and Kyoto making sure that no

4:29one truly knew where he lay in the

4:31hierarchy of the capital Yoshiaki in

4:33attempts to formally lower the position

4:35of Nobunaga had offered him at the

4:37position of conray the Shogun old deputy

4:40a role beneath the Shogun an offer which

4:44Nobunaga soundly refused even the

4:46Emperor tried to force Nobunaga and two

4:49becoming the new cadre yet still he

4:52remained free of such titles and status

4:54he understood that to accept such a role

4:57would make him no different than all the

4:59others who had dominated the Shogunate

5:01and Kyoto before him and his ambition

5:04was far above theirs in early 1570

5:08Nobunaga wished to solidify who his

5:10allies and and

5:11his were he pressured Yoshiaki into

5:14requesting that all da mio in the

5:16central region come to Kyoto in an act

5:18of faith towards the Shogun and the new

5:20regime any who did not attend would be

5:23seen as rivals to the oda surprisingly

5:26dhaumya a Sakura Yoshi cognate of HSN

5:30refused the call if we remember from the

5:33previous episode a Sakura shikakai had

5:36been a Chicago Yoshi Aki's champion and

5:38host for some time before Yoshiaki had

5:41eventually lost faith in him and left to

5:43join the oda yet now as Yoshiaki had

5:46realized his true role was to be that of

5:49Nobunaga spawn

5:50he may have secretly kept up

5:52correspondence with Yoshi kaga in aims

5:54that he may come to liberate the capital

5:56and push out the oda nobunaga had

5:59definitely been feeling the rise in

6:01tension between him and Yoshiaki and

6:03thus began suspecting that Yoshiaki was

6:06conspiring with other clans this refusal

6:08by ashikaga to come to Kyoto brought to

6:11light his suspicions and was all the

6:13justification Nobunaga needed to declare

6:15the a Sakura an enemy of the state in

6:18the spring of 1570 Nobunaga set out for

6:21each season at the head of a Grand Army

6:23in aims to conquer the province the Oda

6:26would of course call for the aid of the

6:28loyal Tokugawa Ieyasu who marched with

6:31an army of his own towards the Echizen

6:33border

6:33the only clan who stood between Nobunaga

6:36forces and the a Sakura where the si who

6:39if we remember back from episode 21 had

6:42become allies with the oda due to the

6:45marriage between as ienaga masa and Ora

6:47Nobunaga sister Buchi Nobunaga probably

6:51figured that due to their alliance the

6:53as I would likely allow the oda and

6:56Tokugawa forces free passage through

6:58their territory and at first it appeared

7:01as such as the armies began making their

7:03way through upper o me province however

7:06there must have been a deep internal

7:08conflict brewing within Azai Nagamasa as

7:10his clan had been longtime allies with

7:13the Sakura this new alliance he had made

7:16with the oda definitely served a purpose

7:18yet whichever side he took he would be

7:21dishonorably betraying an ally

7:23thus feeling bound to the clan he had

7:26been allied to much longer

7:28Naga masa eventually came to the hard

7:30decision to side with the UH Sakura

7:32against Nobunaga this came just as oda

7:35forces were pushing into HSN when

7:38suddenly the as i began striking out at

7:40their rear Nobunaga was now surrounded

7:44by enemies luckily for him with the

7:46Tokugawa army at his back

7:48Nobunaga forces were able to fend off

7:50the as I glanced affection and pull out

7:53to make a full retreat without losing

7:55massive casualties however now knowing

7:57that both the SI and a Sakura stood

8:00against him Nobunaga began preparations

8:02to wipe them both out his initial target

8:06would be none other than the SI power

8:08base of o'donneii castle by mid-summer

8:11Nobunaga and EA osten set out again this

8:14time in aims to clear out the

8:16treacherous as a clan first wary of

8:19another attack from the rear Nobunaga

8:21positioned shibata katsuie at the head

8:23of a small but elite garrison at choco G

8:26in Umi province this extra step of

8:29preparation completely paid off as the

8:31rokkaku clan were attempted to seize the

8:33opportunity of Nobunaga absence to

8:36retake lost territory as a rokkaku army

8:39numbering around 4,000 were marched to

8:41lay siege to choke og and although he

8:44was severely outnumbered katsu EA's

8:46small garrison held firm continuously

8:49harassing the attackers by launching the

8:51night raids against rokkaku positions

8:53and eventually dealing so much damage to

8:56the attackers better ikkaku were finally

8:58forced to abandon the siege afterwards

9:02their reduced numbers would eventually

9:04allow the oda to force the rokkaku into

9:07submission back on the war front as

9:10Nobunaga carved a bloody path to ohmy

9:12Naga masa had quickly called the asakura

9:15clan for aid to which a Sakura Yoshi

9:18kaga sent out an army under the command

9:20of

9:21Sakura cog otaku this combined as I a

9:23Sakura army which numbered roughly

9:25around 18,000 immediately moved to meet

9:28the Oda who were in July laying siege to

9:31the SI stronghold of Yokoyama the oda

9:34Tokugawa army who numbered around 28,000

9:37strong quickly turned to face the si

9:40Sakura forces who were amassing to the

9:42north of the on a river however as soon

9:45as Nobunaga drew up to face them the

9:47isaiah sakura forces pulled back upon

9:50seeing his enemies withdrawn

9:52Nobunaga ordered the siege of Yokoyama

9:54to resume yet on the night of July 29th

9:57the Isaiah Sakura

9:59army reappeared and were now heading

10:01towards the oda encampment fortunately

10:03for Nobunaga his Scouts were able to

10:05detect the movements of the isaiah

10:07sakura forces thus Nobunaga once again

10:10quickly redeployed his forces on the

10:12left side he sent the Tokugawa army

10:14under the command of EA azu who was

10:16being aided by one of his finest

10:18commanders Honda Tara katsu while the

10:20oda took to the right side with Nobunaga

10:23holding firm alongside a notable figures

10:25such as Maya coach EA d WA Naga he day

10:28and hashiba Hideyoshi once battle was

10:32joined on the morning of the 30th it

10:33became clear that the ax Sakura portion

10:35of the army had taken the left side and

10:37the as I had taken the right thus it was

10:40the Tokugawa who were to deal with the

10:42Sakura while Nobunaga had to contend

10:44with Nagamasa immediately naka mosses

10:48charged at the wound Ava's line hard and

10:50fast and a brutal struggle erupted as

10:52the Sun began to rise

10:53although Nobunaga held the advantage of

10:56being on the defensive the

10:57aggressiveness of the isaiah attack

10:59began pushing the oda forces back so

11:02much so that no who now that became

11:04concerned that he may need to order a

11:06retreat yet things were going the

11:08opposite for the Tokugawa as the Sakura

11:10hadn't put up nearly as hard a fight on

11:13the left as Ieyasu began to control the

11:15situation on his side of the battlefield

11:17he began sending extra troops over to a

11:20before

11:20a line crashing into the flank of the

11:23Azai with the addition of the Tokugawa

11:25soldiers the wound Agha was finally able

11:28to hold his ground and as soon as the

11:30isaku de army began to break and rout

11:33the Hamas I realized all hope was fading

11:36and ordered his forces to retreat

11:38Nobunaga had won the battle of Onagawa

11:42yet his forces were severely diminished

11:44so much so that he would not be able to

11:47sustain any further push against the SI

11:50power base at o'donneii although the war

11:52resumed between the oda and the azide

11:55Asakura coalition Nobunaga would be

11:57forced to turn his attention elsewhere

11:59as it was now apparent that he was

12:02becoming increasingly surrounded by

12:04enemies several months later Nagamasa

12:06would avenge his defeat at Onagawa by

12:09crushing an Oda army at Osama castle

12:12leoch soon and killing one of Nobunaga's

12:14brothers Bora Alou Haru however the war

12:18was far from over

12:19and soon the Wu Naga would be able to

12:21strike out against the SI and a Sakura

12:24once again in Ames can finally finish

12:27them off so what can we learn

12:31after taking the capital in 1568

12:34Nobunaga said about seizing the central

12:37region while at the same time dominating

12:40Kyoto politics this of course angered

12:42shogun ashikaga you'll see aki who

12:44quickly came to realize he was simply

12:46meant to be double Nagas puppet

12:48eventually Nobunaga began to suspect

12:51that Yoshiaki was secretly in contact

12:54with the asakura clan and called forth

12:56all loyal daimyo to Kyoto in a great

12:58show of faith when the a Sakura refused

13:01to show

13:02Nobunaga now had the justification he

13:04needed to attack by 1570 he quickly set

13:08out to crush the ax Sakura being aided

13:10by his Tokugawa allies yet

13:12Isaiah Nagamasa would betray him and

13:15force a retreat months later

13:17Nobunaga would try again this time

13:19working towards the as eye power base of

13:22o'donneii Castle in retaliation against

13:24the oda

13:25the SI and a Sakura marched against

13:27Nobunaga and their armies would meet at

13:30Battle of Onagawa Varun Agha would

13:32nearly be defeated yet thanks to

13:34Tokugawa Ieyasu he was able to endure

13:36and the aza Asakura forces would be

13:39forced to retreat the war between the

13:41two factions would continue to rage as

13:43Naboo Nagas attention would be called

13:45away the ODA were now surrounded by

13:47enemies yet they were still strong in

13:50the face of such opposition in the next

13:54episode tensions continued to rise as

13:56Nobunaga is made to deal with his

13:58growing number of rivals thank you for
