0:00There's one area of AI that I personally

0:03have just not given enough attention to

0:05and I think authors in general have not

0:06given enough attention to that I really

0:09regret now. And today we're going to

0:11walk through how to use this different

0:13AI that we haven't talked about before

0:14on this channel to enhance your author

0:17business quite substantially, I think.

0:19And at the very least, if it doesn't

0:21help you make more money or get more

0:22people on your email list or whatever

0:24your goals are, this should just be a

0:27really fun thing that gives you at least

0:30a very rewarding

0:32bonus for your book. So, without further

0:35ado, let's get into it. I am of course

0:37talking about AI music. Now, why why

0:41would we talk about AI music on a

0:43channel that's all about AI for creative

0:45writing? Well, the main reason is

0:48a lot of authors I know already create

0:51like a a Spotify playlist of soundtracks

0:54or things like that that are kind of

0:56totally stylistically similar to the

0:59themes of the book that they are

1:01writing. Uh like I I know one author who

1:03is writing this like really crazy kind

1:06of action film with a very strong female

1:08lead. She was listening to things like

1:10Mad Max Fury Road and stuff like that.

1:13And so, I've seen authors actually

1:15create these playlists and then share

1:16them with their audience as a little

1:19bonus. And I thought, wouldn't it be

1:21cool if we could go a step further and

1:23actually create a soundtrack that is

1:25specifically tailored to our book with,

1:28you know, the different emotional themes

1:30or songs that represent certain scenes

1:32or songs that represent certain

1:34characters and stuff like that and

1:35actually create a entire soundtrack that

1:39we can then

1:40perhaps you could sell it if you want. I

1:42don't know how successful that's going

1:44to be. I think it would be much better

1:46as a reader magnet to get people on an

1:49email list or some kind of bonus that

1:52you give to readers on maybe a Patreon

1:55or something like that just as a way to

1:57sort of enhance what you have. You could

1:59also, if you sell direct, you could

2:02include it as a bonus on on that to say,

2:03"Hey, this is exclusive. If you buy it

2:05from Amazon, you just get the book, but

2:07if you buy it direct from me, you get

2:08like a discount, plus you get the

2:10soundtrack on top, you know?" It's one

2:12of those things that can be leveraged to

2:14increase the value of the offers that

2:16you have

2:17without actually selling it as a

2:19separate product, if that makes sense.

2:21That's how I would use it, that's how I

2:22intend to use it. So, today we're going

2:25to talk about three different methods to

2:27create songs inside of a AI tool called

2:31Suno, which definitely appears to be the

2:33best one at this time. And I'll show you

2:36some mind-bending stuff, results that

2:38I've gotten out of this. And

2:41let's just get into it. So, if if you're

2:44here on

2:46suno.com,

2:48you can log in, and there's actually a

2:50pretty generous free tier. You can do a

2:51lot of this for free to just start out.

2:54However, if you want commercial use for

2:56your songs, which in my case I do, you

2:59do need to be on the paid plan. The paid

3:01plan is not that expensive. It's about

3:04what you'd expect, about like $8, or so,

3:07a month, depending on whether you use

3:09the annual plan or the monthly plan. But

3:13once you get in, you'll be greeted with

3:15something like this. And additionally,

3:18their highest model, the 5.5 model, as

3:20of this recording, is only available on

3:24the paid plan. Although, I'll be honest,

3:26the 4.5 plan was fine. It was great. So,

3:30you don't necessarily need the 5.5 plan.

3:33Regardless, there's a lot you can do

3:35here.

3:36And I'm going to give you give you three

3:38examples of what we could do. But before

3:40we do that, I want to do some prep,

3:42right? Because

3:43we don't just want it to create random

3:45songs, right? We want it to create

3:47random songs that are sort of

3:49tailored to your book.

3:51Now, you could write this in yourself if

3:53you know your book, uh you can, you

3:55know, put descriptions of your

3:57characters, kind of type it it all in.

4:00And and what a song about them might

4:02look like in your mind, right? And I

4:04actually did that uh for one of my

4:06characters, which I'll demonstrate soon.

4:09Uh but another thing you can do is get a

4:13summary of your book.

4:14Uh and this is a book that I have, one

4:16of my first books that I ever published

4:18is called Out of Shadow. It's a young

4:20adult fantasy.

4:22And um I happen to have a what I call a

4:25summary plus document of this book,

4:28which is a just condensed summary, a

4:30very thorough summary, but uh still

4:33smaller than the book itself, that

4:35includes a summary of the plot that

4:38happens in each chapter, a list of all

4:40of the characters in each chapter, a

4:42list of the settings of that chapter,

4:45the conflict, the tropes, and ratings

4:47like spice level, violence level,

4:49swearing level, etc. And then it does

4:50the same for each chapter. I have a

4:52whole automation that does this. I did a

4:55video a while back, you can check my

4:56automation playlist. Uh but you can take

4:59any book, run it through this

5:01automation, and it'll create one of

5:02these documents for you. I find it very

5:04useful for a lot of things.

5:06Uh today we're going to take this

5:07summary plus document, copy the entire

5:09thing, and we're going to go into Claude

5:11projects. I'm going to create a new

5:13project, and we're just going to call

5:15this soundtrack planning.

5:18Something like that. Great black

5:19project.

5:20And then under files, I'm going to add

5:24uh

5:25Out of Shadow summary doc and paste that

5:30whole thing in there.

5:31Add content.

5:33Um

5:34and then in our instructions, we're

5:35going to say something like

5:38you are an expert

5:41uh

5:42film soundtrack composer. Your task

5:46is to work with the user to create

5:50things like a list of song titles for a

5:56soundtrack

5:57based on

5:59the summary document

6:03that you have access to create fully

6:07fleshed out song descriptions

6:11as well as tone and styles

6:15information for each song adhere to the

6:19users preferences

6:22and instructions. All right, so we'll

6:24just do something like that. And then

6:26here, I'm going to say given the summary

6:30doc

6:31I want you to create

6:34a list of

6:36potential

6:38song ideas

6:40for a full soundtrack

6:43based on

6:45the book from the summary doc. I want a

6:49full theme song for each major

6:53character.

6:54We'll say five to six songs

6:59representing

7:01key scenes from the book

7:05and one final song

7:07that will be like the end credit song

7:12and which will be the only song that has

7:17vocals in it. All of the others should

7:21be instrumental

7:23similar to a fantasy movie soundtrack.

7:28All right, I think that's enough and now

7:31we can just let it go and see what kind

7:34of things it gives us. And this is just

7:36the early planning stages. This is just

7:38to try and get a a

7:40of songs that we can do.

7:45All right, so it gave us the whole thing

7:46and it made this look really nice and

7:49visual for me. I actually Let me know in

7:51the comments, do you like it when it

7:52does this because I feel like it's often

7:54way more than I need or ask for and it

7:57almost come becomes annoying sometimes.

7:59I know it looks pretty but like

8:01Claude has been doing this a lot lately

8:03and it's like that's not what I asked

8:05for. Now I have to put instructions to

8:06like specifically format it in a certain

8:08way.

8:09But regardless,

8:11um it gives us a whole bunch of stuff.

8:12So it gave me character themes, gave me

8:14eight of those. It gave me six key

8:17scenes and the end credit song that I

8:20was looking for and each one is

8:21expandable.

8:23Um again, it's not necessarily going to

8:25be this way for you if you do it but

8:27it's how Claude decided to output for

8:30me.

8:31And uh there's some really interesting

8:33stuff here. So I want to first look at

8:35this one. This I have a character named

8:36Name and uh tone earnest and a little

8:39awkward. The warmth is someone forward

8:41bravely. Uh the instrumentation is solo

8:43oboe over light pizzicato strings. A

8:47melody that trips slightly on itself

8:49before finding footing. As the piece

8:51develops, confident brass undertones

8:53emerge. A secondary gentler motif, a

8:55six-note phrase, surfaces whenever Name

8:58and Jack's themes are played in

9:00proximity representing their bond.

9:02All right. Uh so there's some stuff in

9:04here that it's not going to know. So

9:07we're we're going to have to modify this

9:08a little bit but let's

9:10uh let's run with this, okay? So I'm

9:12going to copy this first bit here.

9:14And we're going to go into Suno and

9:17let's see.

9:18Since this is going to be a instrumental

9:21uh song, we're going to go here to

9:24simple and I'm just going to click this

9:27thing that says instrumental on it. Now

9:29it knows to not have any lyrics in it.

9:31Um so

9:33I'm going to paste this here, solo oboe

9:34over light pizzicato strings.

9:37And we can do the six note phrase.

9:39Actually no, we'll we'll take that

9:41surfaces occasionally.

9:44Cuz we're not going to have it interact

9:46with the other characters

9:48theme. That would be a little too

9:49complicated, I think.

9:51But then I'm just going to add a a few

9:53other things. Let's see the tone.

9:56We can add that in here.

9:59Tone.

10:00Earnest and a little awkward and I'll

10:02say

10:04uh I'm going to add style fantasy film

10:07soundtrack and I always like to add

10:10something like

10:11a clear melodic theme uh because I

10:15really like songs, especially in

10:17soundtracks, that have a very clear

10:18theme for that character and it's not

10:20just sort of generic stuff. The second

10:22way I'm going to show you how to do this

10:23can take that to the next level, but

10:25we're just going to run with this right

10:26now.

10:27And we're going to make sure that our

10:28model V 5.5 is selected and hit create

10:32and that's really all you have to do.

10:35Now here in Claude, it named it Grace

10:37Under the Stars. I didn't specify that

10:39in my prompt, so it's going to give me

10:41something totally different.

10:43Stumbling Oboe Quest. So I can edit this

10:46and just be say Grace Under the Stars.

10:50We can put this as Niamh's Theme.

10:53Oh, except

10:59and it is giving me two to look at.

11:02And the nice thing about this is it will

11:05even though it's still generating, the

11:07first part of the song has already been

11:09generated, so you can start playing it

11:11before it's even done. So let's go ahead

11:13and take a listen.

11:17>> [music]

11:23[music]

11:26>> You can see the theme here with the oboe

11:28in there. It definitely has that

11:29lighthearted feel,

11:30right?

11:40>> [music]

11:46[music]

11:55[music]

12:12[music]

12:22>> All right, so I think that's actually

12:23great. It definitely fits the tone that

12:26we asked it for. It does kind of fit the

12:28character as as he is in my mind. So,

12:32I'd be totally happy with taking that

12:34one and putting it on the soundtrack.

12:35Now, you might want to run this a few

12:36times to find something that you might

12:38like better.

12:39Uh but this is this has been method

12:41number one of getting these songs as you

12:45like them. All right, let's move on to

12:47method number two, which is not that

12:49dissimilar.

12:50Uh you can, you know,

12:52go back to Claude, you can copy all of

12:55this as as much as you want, you know.

12:58Um but we're going to actually add a

13:01theme of our own and see how well it

13:05takes that. Now, I've already done this

13:06step, so I'm just going to show you what

13:08I did. Because for my main character for

13:10this book, turns out I already have a

13:12theme in mind for her. Uh I play a

13:15little piano and I as I've just been

13:18playing around on the piano, messing

13:20around, I kind of just came to this

13:23theme that in my mind represented her

13:27journey and her theme and everything

13:29like that. And so, I already had this in

13:31mind, right? This theme in mind.

13:34And one of the things you can do is you

13:36can record a little bit of audio, and

13:38this can be as simple as you just

13:40humming the tune, right? It does not

13:42have to be really out there. It can be

13:45you humming the tune. It can be you just

13:47playing the notes on a piano or what

13:49have you.

13:51And uh I actually recorded this while I

13:53was like in the corner of my gym and and

13:57so I had to be kind of quiet, so I kind

13:59of like raised my my laptop up to my

14:01face, and I just kind of like very

14:03softly hummed the tune of this thing.

14:06And uh this is the recording that we

14:07got. Listen to this.

14:11>> [singing]

14:20[singing]

14:32[laughter]

14:33>> Very cringeworthy. I don't know why I

14:34played that for you guys. Um

14:36I sing better than that, okay? Uh but uh

14:39I was just like trying to do it really

14:41soft, and it just came out really

14:43uh really poorly, but I got the main

14:45notes in there, all right? So, I just I

14:47took that theme and plugged it into

14:50this. So, what you can do here is go to

14:52audio and upload audio or just record it

14:56right here.

14:57And then, from that,

15:00I got this.

15:32>> [music]

15:59[music]

16:18[music]

16:40[music]

17:19>> All right, so clearly an improvement on

17:23what I gave it. I was just shocked at

17:25how well it did given that just like

17:29barely hummed out tune that I gave it.

17:32So if you want to have a little bit more

17:33control over this thing

17:35and especially if you have like a

17:37specific theme that you want to hear

17:39throughout the song, that is a really

17:42great way to do it, I think. So that is

17:45method number two of creating these

17:46things. It's a lot like method number

17:48one but with a little bit more control

17:50and is personally how I'm going to be

17:53doing a lot of these songs because I

17:55tend to be a little bit more musically

17:57musically inclined and I I like to come

18:00up with very clear themes that can then

18:03translate into the into the song. All

18:05right, so that is method number two. Now

18:07let's talk about method number three.

18:09And this is what if we want to add

18:11lyrics, okay? So this end credit song

18:15that I put here, I specified that I

18:17wanted it to have lyrics.

18:18Uh it has not made lyrics for me

18:21and it's actually given me a lot of

18:23stuff here that I don't necessarily

18:26want. Um but I think it would be cool to

18:29incorporate Jack's theme in there, the

18:31the one that I uh just showed you guys,

18:34so we can maybe include that.

18:37But let's let's just ignore most of

18:41this. All right, let's ignore most of

18:43this. I will add I include this tone

18:46here. Let's go to Suno and now here uh

18:49we're actually going to go to advanced.

18:52And I'm going to type this in here just

18:54so we have that. We'll just call it

18:56tone. Actually, that should go here

18:59under styles. And while we're here under

19:01styles, I'm going to say

19:03in the style of an end end credit song

19:08at the end of a film similar to the

19:12songs at the end of the Lord of the

19:16Rings and Hobbit films. I don't know if

19:18it'll understand that reference well

19:20enough to get it, but yeah, we'll see.

19:23So, let's talk about lyrics. Now, there

19:25is a generate lyrics button here and we

19:28can kind of describe what we're looking

19:29for. This is a a song about hope and

19:35about the coming-of-age

19:37journey

19:38of a young

19:41female protagonist

19:44in a fantasy film named Jack.

19:49Let's see.

19:51Go if we go back to this.

19:54I'm just going to ask Claude, can you

19:57give me a small summary of the

20:01arc for Jack.

20:04It'll just go through the summary plus

20:05document that I gave it and and do that.

20:08While we're doing that, we're going to

20:09grab this

20:11this title here, Child of Shadow and

20:13Light. I think that's fine. Title,

20:16Child of Shadow and Light.

20:23I'm going to grab this and say, here is

20:26a summary of Jack's

20:29character

20:31arc.

20:32All right.

20:34So, it has some of that information and

20:35then I'm just going to First, I'm going

20:37to copy this so I have it on my

20:39clipboard. I'm just going to say

20:40generate lyrics.

20:42Write full song.

20:44I'm just going to paste that in there.

20:46All right, so I'm going to have to ask

20:47for a shorter summary. Make it a shorter

20:51summary.

21:05So, we don't necessarily all of that

21:07info.

21:12And we'll let it cook.

21:14All right. So, give me two options here.

21:16I really like this one here on the left.

21:19You tried to tell me I was made for

21:20greater things, but all I saw was dirt

21:21and smoke. A wheel that spun, but never

21:23broke. So, I closed my eyes and walked

21:25into the dark. It's kind of abstract,

21:27but I I think that's appropriate for the

21:29style that I'm looking for here. I am

21:31the child of shadow and light, the clash

21:32of heaven and earth. I am the keeper of

21:34darkness and truth. I am the dream you

21:35forgot. I burned my home, and with it

21:37went my former self, the daughter, the

21:39lover, the friend. And now I'm just a

21:40ghost of them, but even ghosts know

21:42where they're going to end in the end.

21:44I am the shadow You know, there's the

21:45chorus again. Then the bridge, I am the

21:47sky, I am the fire, I am the storm.

21:50I'm the keeper of darkness and truth.

21:51I'm the dream you forgot. I am the child

21:53of shadow and light, etc. All right. So,

21:54we're going to select this option.

21:57Um and so, we have the style information

22:00here still. We can select more options

22:02like vocal gender. We definitely want

22:03this to be female, cuz it's from the

22:05perspective of Jack. Weirdness and style

22:09influence you can uh

22:11uh you can play with as you want, but uh

22:14but we're not going to worry about that

22:16right now.

22:17Uh and I'm just going to

22:19Well, first [snorts] I want I want to

22:20copy some of this stuff, so I've got it

22:22on hand just so I don't lose it. But I'm

22:24going to go ahead and hit create.

22:26All right. So, here's what it sounds

22:28like without the the theme added in.

22:49You tried to tell me I was made for

22:53greater things.

22:56But all I saw was dirt and [music]

22:59smoke.

23:03A wheel that spun but never broke.

23:09So, I closed my eyes

23:12and walked into the dark.

23:18I am [music] the child of shadow

23:22[singing] and light.

23:25The clash of heaven and earth.

23:30All right, not too bad. It's not quite

23:32how I pictured it in my head and I feel

23:34like the

23:35uh I'd like the voice to be a little bit

23:36younger. Let's see what it sounds like

23:38when we added the theme in there and see

23:40what it was able to make of that because

23:42I don't know if it will be able to match

23:44up the lyrics with the theme very well,

23:46but we'll see.

24:00You tried to tell me

24:04I was made [singing]

24:05for greater things.

24:10But all [music] I saw [singing] was dirt

24:13and smoke.

24:16A wheel that [singing and music] spun

24:18but never broke.

24:23So, I closed [music]

24:24my eyes

24:26and walked into

24:29the dark.

24:33I [singing] am the child [music]

24:36of shadow and light.

24:40The clash of heaven and [singing] earth.

24:46Okay, I don't actually hear the theme in

24:47there at all. I did select it as

24:50inspired. So, maybe I need to do

24:52something more like remix

24:54and try that. Let me try it with several

24:56of these, cuz I don't actually know

24:59what

25:00what all of these do in relation to each

25:03other. So, let's try a couple of them.

25:07Again, I am not an expert in this tool.

25:08I've only just started using it and got

25:11really excited, which is why I made this

25:12video.

25:30You tried to tell me

25:33I was made for greater things.

25:39But all I saw [music] was dirt and

25:42smoke.

25:44A wheel that spun but never broke.

25:49So, I closed my eyes

25:53and walked into

25:56the dark.

26:00I

26:01am the child of shadow

26:04and light.

26:06The clash of heaven [music and singing]

26:08and earth.

26:12I am the keeper of darkness and truth.

26:18I

26:19am the dream you forgot.

26:22Okay, there is actually a little bit of

26:24the theme hinted in there. Enough that I

26:26was kind of impressed. So,

26:28so I like that. So, anyway, this is

26:30another way to create songs for your

26:33soundtrack, cuz not everybody writes

26:34fantasy like I am. So, a purely

26:37instrumental soundtrack is not always

26:39going to be the most appropriate. You

26:40might want actual lyrics for a lot of

26:42your songs. So, this is the way you can

26:46do it inside of Suno. You can also ask

26:48Claude or someone else to write your

26:51lyrics for you and then you can just

26:52take those into Suno, whatever you want.

26:55Uh but I do think that uh the version

26:56that they have in Suno is actually

26:57pretty good at creating actual lyrics.

27:00So, there you have it. So, anyway, this

27:02is my my little tutorial about how to

27:04create a full soundtrack for your book.

27:06I think this is really exciting stuff.

27:08You can also use this in conjunction

27:09with AI video and create little videos

27:12um that have a stellar soundtrack.

27:15Personally, uh having done a lot of

27:16editing in the past uh of video and and

27:19stuff like that, I like to get the

27:21soundtrack first and then kind of

27:23conform the events of the video to the

27:27soundtrack. So, um so this I I

27:30definitely plan on uh doing something

27:31like that in the near future. So, uh

27:33hope this video has been interesting for

27:35you and I'll see you in the next video.
