NotebookLM: Turning Chaos into Structured Creative Intelligence

0:00Howdy, partner. My name's Ezekiel

0:02Ohaird, and yes, I'm wearing a pseudo

0:07cowboy hat. That's because I was down in

0:10Texas last week at my

0:13at my wife's cousin's wedding. It was

0:15beautiful. The ceremony was beautiful.

0:18The food was great, great hugs, the kind

0:21of environment that reminds you that

0:24life is bigger than whatever AI model

0:27just dropped yesterday. And yet,

0:29somewhere between the brisket and the

0:31dancing, I had time to have

0:33conversations about artificial

0:35intelligence, especially with

0:38one of my wife's cousin's husband. He is

0:41a a software engineer in the Austin area

0:44where you need lots of software

0:45engineers, and we talked so extensively

0:49about his dreams and what he wanted to

0:51do and how artificial intelligence could

0:54help him. Because that's what I do. That

0:57is what I do. And if you're here, this

0:59is why AI matters. I've taught thousands

1:03of authors and creators and artists how

1:05to use artificial intelligence to

1:07enhance their business, and I've done it

1:10successfully. I've helped people grow

1:11businesses to million-dollar revenues

1:13through content creation structured

1:15systems teachings, and yes, a little bit

1:18of force of personality. Now, I'm I'm

1:22super proud of that, and I want you to

Beyond Hacks: Building Real AI Systems for Agency

1:24go on this this journey with us. And

1:27here's the real thing. I don't just

1:29teach AI because it's flashy. I teach it

1:33because structure changes lives. And

1:36today, we're going to dive into the most

1:39powerful tool for structure available

1:41right now, Google Notebook LM. Not a

1:44toy. It's a It's not just some kind of

1:47summarizer, but it's infrastructure. I'm

1:50going to show you in this video how to

1:53use it inside of your workflow, how to

1:56use it for research, how to use it for

1:58world-building, and how to use it to

2:00build systems instead of chasing hacks.

2:03Because if you are building anything

2:05meaningful right now, you need

2:08structured intelligence. This is why AI

2:12matters.

2:21Before we jump in, if you're serious

2:24about building with AI instead of just

2:26watching other people build with it,

2:29then hit subscribe. I don't just do

2:32surface level sort of top level level

2:34reviews. That's not the only thing that

2:36I do. I break things down, workflows,

2:39how to actively use, write, publish,

2:42research, vibe, code, and build with

2:45this thing. Have the leverage to move

2:48the world with this knowledge. And if

2:51you want to be a part of like the Story

2:53Hacker community, I've got links in the

2:55description below. If you want to be

2:59part of something that's bigger than

3:01you, check the links below. That's where

3:03we go deeper. That's where we build real

3:06systems for creative people who want

What is NotebookLM? (Grounded vs Hallucinatory AI)

3:09agency. All right, let's talk about

3:12Google Notebook LM. This is Google

3:16Notebook LM. It is probably one of my

3:21favorite tools that I've ever used. So,

3:25why am I even covering this? Because

3:27inside of Story Hacker, we had somebody

3:30ask me a question, and today I was

3:32watching a video, and somebody brought

3:34something up that like I wanted to

3:36definitely cover, and I needed I need

3:39better systems. I want to show people

3:41how to use better systems. So, I'm

3:43helping creatives build universes,

3:46structured series, published

3:48I want them to publish consistently,

3:51research intelligently, and stop

3:53drowning in AI noise. I cannot do any of

4:00this effectively without some type of

4:02structured research. Google Notebook LM

4:04is not It's not about the convenience of

4:07it. It's about control, and control is

4:10everything. Most people treat Google

4:12Notebook LM like it's a summarizer.

4:14That's not what this is. This is a

4:17grounded intelligence, which means you

4:20can choose your sources. You can turn

4:22them on or off. You can cite everything.

4:26That way, you don't have this open-ended

4:29hallucination

4:31sort of energy thing going on. This is

4:33controlled AI. All right? If you care

4:36about structure over chaos, systems over

4:40hacks, and builders over spectators,

4:44then this this is the tool. This is the

Preserving Legacy: Uploading My Mother-in-Law’s 1977 Personal Journal

4:48thing for you. Let me make this

4:50personal. All right? My mother-in-law

4:54My mother-in-law passed away about 2

4:56years ago, and she kept these

4:59handwritten notes, including a personal

5:01log from September of 1977. So, I copied

5:05it into Google Notebook LM. Now, instead

5:09of that being a forgotten document in a

5:12drawer, it becomes something alive. Let

5:15me show you. This right here is the main

5:18page when you are greeted with it, and

5:20what you want to do is I'm going to go

5:23over to Janice's history notebook. I've

5:25got one entry in it that I pasted the

5:29information from her journal into this,

5:32and I am able to have this and personal

5:35notes. I could actually make a

5:38infographic, which I will just do by

5:41clicking on it. I can make a slide deck

5:45just by clicking on it, and I can make

5:49tables or mind maps of the things going

5:52on in her life. I can make video

5:55overviews. I could make audio overviews,

5:58which by the way, if I did make of audio

6:00overview, it's interactive. And I can

6:03explore this context. I can restructure

6:06the narrative. I can build historical

6:09texture. I can preserve legacy. Then,

6:13that's when it hits me. It It hit me

6:16like so hard that this isn't just It's

6:19not just for research. This is a memory

6:22amplification machine. That's legacy

6:25over novelty. That's why AI matters.

High-Agency Research: Writing Deep AI-to-AI Prompts

6:31Now, here's the advanced move that most

6:35people do not get. They miss this so

6:40hard. What I want you to do is not

6:42casually prompt Google Notebook LM. I

6:45want you to use another AI to write your

6:49like deep research prompt. Meaning that

6:52when you're in here, you can give it the

6:55ability to do research. Right up here,

6:58I can give it a long-winded

7:02sort of prompt or short prompt. It's

7:05better if it's long, but what I did was

7:08I had this prompt, and I'm going to read

7:10it to you really quickly. I can't really

7:12zoom in on it,

7:14but I can read it to you really quickly.

7:17So, here's the prompt. I'm working

7:20inside of Google Notebook LM, and I want

7:22to do some deep research on this entire

7:24subject of remotion. I gave it this

7:28prompt. I want it to I want you to give

7:30it back to me in a very detailed prompt

7:32to help me do the best deeps research

7:35specifically for the things that I am

7:37asking so that I can get the great

7:39content out of Google Notebook LM. I do

7:43deep research with remotion, uh meaning

7:46that I want deep research. Uh this is

7:49dictation. So, how it works with Claude

7:52Code, how it works with Codex, over with

7:54OpenAI, and how it works with Google

7:58Gemini antigravity. I want these things

8:01to tie in in supercharged ways my

8:04content creation, how I can become a

8:07better content creator. I want to be

8:09able to do that so that I have all of

8:12the information off the internet that

8:14helps me to do that. Uh it's it was a

8:16rambly thing, but it worked, and it gave

8:19me Google Notebook so that it could do

8:21the research. I tell it exactly what I

8:23need, what depth you want, what

8:26specifically matters, what you want it

8:28to output it as, how you want it to

8:30output it. Then, you paste this prompt

8:33right into Google Notebook LM,

8:35switch it from fast to deep research,

8:37import everything, remove the failed

8:40sources, and you're and Bob's your

8:43uncle. Right here, deep research, it

8:46automatically becomes that, and then you

8:48get to pick all of your sources, X nay

8:51anything that isn't actually working,

8:54and you are off to the races. Use AI to

8:58talk to AI. That's called high agency.

Case Study: Grounding My Sci-Fi Universe "Lucky Seven"

9:02Now, let's talk about creative

9:04infrastructure. All right, so I have a

9:06sci-fi universe called Lucky Seven.

9:10Years of Scrivener chaos, dossiers,

9:14brain dumps. I distilled all of that

9:17into a few MD files, and actually brain

9:21dump of the actual universe and all of

9:24these things that I could think of. I

9:27put it into three documents. I uploaded

9:30them from just a few just three

9:33documents. I've generated franchise

9:36bibles, mind maps, infographics, video

9:40overviews, audio briefings,

9:43socio-economic

9:45reports, data tables. Let me Let me I

9:48just You have to see this. So, this

9:51right here is my Lucky Seven universe,

9:53okay? So, what's amazing to me about the

9:56Lucky Seven universe is it all came out

9:59of my head. And I needed a way to show

10:02other people if I wanted to sell either

10:05a book or sell possibly

10:09the rights to make this into a film or

10:12something like that.

10:13Once I started thinking of Notebook LM

10:16as a content sort of

10:20disseminator, meaning that you can

10:22actually make this content of written

10:25word into visuals, into actual audio

10:28podcasts, into all kinds of things. Once

10:32you realize that you can do that,

10:35it starts becoming something different.

10:38So, this right here is a narrative

10:40development framework right here that

10:43really gives you a very intricate

10:46breakdown that you could feed into a

10:49large language model and it can

10:50instantly know your universe, okay? This

Generating Multi-Modal Assets: Infographics, Slide Decks, & Timelines

10:53right here

10:55is a infographic that you can't see, but

10:58this right here is a slide deck that you

11:02can build based on your story. So,

11:05everything you brain dump into your

11:08story, it actually makes a huge big

11:12difference. Let me show you some of the

11:18actual infographics that I've come up

11:21with. Here's an infographic for the

Visualizing the lucky Seven Factions (Servants of the Sun & Wand Syndicate)

11:23Lucky Seven.

11:25It shows the One Syndicate. It shows the

11:28Architects of the Future. It shows the

11:31Servants of the Sun Down in the lower

11:33left-hand corner. Here's an infographic

11:36on 10 times 10 times your development on

11:39Claude code. So, I was thinking about

11:42making a Claude code video and this was

11:45the basis for it. This right here is the

11:47Claude bot ecosystem, your sovereign AI

Building the Codeex & Claude Code Pipeline Diagrams

11:52assistant. This right here is also a

11:54take on the whole idea of the two sides

11:57of a personal AI future. Here is

12:01a illustration of the news of the week,

12:04all of the things that had happened over

12:06the last week, a sort of news roundup.

12:10This is also that same news roundup.

12:13This is the Codex pipeline, which is a

12:15video I did last week, I think, or 2

12:17weeks ago. The same creative sort of

12:20thing. I wanted to show it in a

12:21different way. This is the dawn of

12:23practical AI agents. And there are even

12:26the slideshows go out as PDFs, so I'm

12:30able to actually create slideshows

12:33all on the same subject, very dynamic,

12:36very interesting sort of slideshows.

12:40Here's another slideshow. And as you can

12:42see in this slideshow, you can see the

12:44differences

12:45in the way

12:48that it presents the information. You

12:50just have to give it a lot of

12:54scaffolding on how it should create

12:56these slides and it'll do pretty much

13:00whatever you want it to do. You can

13:01create videos.

13:03>> Welcome to the Explainer. So, today

13:04we're jumping straight into the Lucky

13:06Seven universe, a future where, let's be

13:09honest, humanity is trapped in this

13:10giant solar system-wide pressure cooker.

13:13I have several videos, two videos, two

13:16different videos that I've made from my

13:18own content. All right, let's get into

13:20this. We're about to unpack an

13:22absolutely incredible story of survival.

13:24And as you can see, it basically it has

13:27all of this information at your

13:29fingertips. You're able to do all kinds

13:31of things. It lets me see my universe

13:33from outside of my own head. That's

13:36creative leverage. That's systems over

Builder Mode: Integrating Reddit, GitHub Docs, and Licensing Info

13:39hacks. Now, let's switch to the builder.

13:42When I'm working on pipelines from

13:45Remotion or or Codex and Claude code and

13:50Gemini and I

13:53>> [clears throat]

13:53>> try try Googling all of that stuff. It

13:56becomes this endless exercise. I needed

13:59to create a notebook. So, I imported

14:02Reddit threads and GitHub documents and

14:05licensing pages and then I asked, "How

14:08does this all integrate? What does this

14:11cost? What license do I need?" It's just

14:15all of this stuff because it's grounded

14:18in all of the sources that you pick. It

14:20gives you structured answers and it

14:23citates everything. This is how you

14:26research like a builder, like a person

14:29who builds for a living. That's how you

14:31do real real research, not just like a

Leveraging Studio Features: Generating Interactive AI Audio & Podcasts

14:33Googler. I

14:35I love the studio feature where I can

14:38build stuff, where I can generate audio

14:40overviews. I can turn your the sources

14:44into incredibly interactive podcast

14:48where it actually talks back to you. And

14:50you can create all of those videos and

14:53maps and reports and infographics and

14:56flashcards and data tables. It doesn't

14:59just answer questions for you, it

15:01generates assets. It makes stuff that

15:04you will actually use. And if you're

15:06running a creative business, those

15:08assets, all of that stuff, it's

15:10leveraged to get stuff done quicker. We

15:13are living in a time where you can

15:16structure your knowledge instead of just

15:19drowning in this endless sea of data.

15:23You can preserve legacy instead of

15:25losing it. You can build systems instead

15:28of just chasing hacks. Or or I mean,

15:32this is all up to you or you can just

15:34scroll. I know which one I'm on. I know

15:37which one which side I'm going to be on

15:39and I know where I'm going to go with

15:41this. If this any of this helped you, if

16:09products and stuff like that. So, if you

16:11want to build something and you don't

16:14feel like you have the creative side,
