0:01[music] nobody understands how he did
0:03it. It begins during training on
0:04Beerus's planet when Beerus tells Goku
0:06that Ultra Instinct will never make him
0:07a true God of Destruction. [music]
0:08Laughing, Goku copies Beerus's stance
0:10and jokingly points his hand toward him.
0:12But the moment Goku says Hakai, purple
0:14energy surrounds Beerus. [music]
0:15Everyone freezes. Goku immediately
0:16closes his hand and the energy
0:18disappears before causing permanent
0:19damage. Beerus angrily demands that Goku
0:21explain [music] himself, but Goku is
0:22just as confused. Believing it was an
0:24accident, Beerus places a large rock in
0:26front of Goku and orders [music] him to
0:27try again. Goku uses Hakai, but nothing
0:29happens. He tries on a mountain, still
0:30nothing. Vegeta [music] realizes the
0:31technique only activated when Goku aimed
0:33at Beerus. To test it, Goku points
0:35toward Vegeta and says Hakai. Once
0:37again, nothing happens. [music] Then
0:38Beerus notices something strange. The
0:39purple energy returns whenever Goku
0:41becomes angry with him. Beerus
0:42deliberately insults Goku, but the
0:43technique still [music] doesn't
0:44activate. Frustrated, Beerus fires a
0:46blast toward Earth. Goku instantly grabs
0:48his wrist and Hakai surrounds Beerus
0:49again. Now Goku understands. The power
0:51isn't reacting [music] to anger. It's
0:52reacting whenever Goku believes Beerus
0:54is about to destroy something innocent.
0:55Beerus refuses to accept that a mortal
0:57can use destruction energy against its
0:58own God. He fires [music] another blast
1:00toward an empty planet, expecting the
1:01Hakai to return. Nothing happens. Goku
1:03was right. Beerus lowers his hand and
1:05admits that [music] somehow Goku has
1:06awakened a version of Hakai that doesn't
1:07obey destruction. It only appears to
1:09stop it. To prove the danger is over,
1:10Beerus creates a tiny destruction sphere
1:12and allows Goku to touch it. Instead of
1:13erasing the sphere, Goku's purple energy
1:15turns it into [music] ordinary light.
1:16Everyone celebrates. Goku has not become
1:18a destroyer. He has awakened the
1:19opposite power capable of stopping
1:21destruction without harming anyone. Then
1:22Beerus quietly asks Goku to try it on
1:24him one last time. Goku activates
1:25[music] the power. The purple energy
1:27surrounds Beerus and restores every
1:28planet Beerus has ever destroyed.
