0:004 % base damage or 20 % extra crit damage ,
0:02which one is better ? You learned in the
0:05last video how base damage works , and
0:07you know extra crit damage is tied to
0:09crit chance , but you still don't know
0:11how to relate them . So , in today's
0:13video , we'll try to answer these three
0:15questions . The first is : does extra
0:17crit damage ever exceed base damage ?
0:19The second question is : what level
0:21range makes crit damage the better
0:22option ? And the third , what crit chance
0:24makes crit damage the better option ? To
0:26answer the first question , yes , with
0:28enough chance or levels , crit will
0:30always outperform base . And this
0:32conclusion is literally a consequence
0:34of what you learned in the base damage
0:35video , and throughout this video ,
0:36you'll be able to answer the other two
0:38questions . And today's video is
0:39basically a sequel to that video , which
0:41is the first video on Teus's YouTube
0:42channel . I made that video , I'm very
0:45proud of it , it turned out great , you
0:46all liked it a lot , and I know many
0:48people watching this video today also
0:49watched that one on Teus's channel . And
0:52I'm happy this is happening , because I
0:54know you are here expanding your
0:56knowledge on this subject . And what is
0:59the summary of that video ? It concluded
1:00that there is a break point where crit
1:03damage becomes better than base damage .
1:05For Evo Maça , it's around 13,735 . Also
1:09in that video , you saw that some things
1:10could vary the break point . One example
1:13is a tier 4 on legs , which makes the
1:15break point drop to 850 . But one thing
1:17wasn't mentioned in that video , right ?
1:18Because that video was focused on Squin
1:20Bow proficiency , and today we are
1:22talking about the broader topic .
1:25However , that video didn't cover gems ,
1:27and despite it being the same mechanism
1:29, base percentage versus extra crit
1:30percentage , as the numbers change , the
1:32answer changes too , right ? So we will
1:35learn that in today's video as well .
1:38But before looking at charts , drawing
1:40conclusions , or going to the lab , we'll
1:42take a step back to understand how each
1:44perk and percentage relates to a hit
1:46without the bonuses . So let's use the
1:49example of an RP level 1000 , ml 45 ,
1:51with 10 % crit chance and 50 % extra crit
1:54damage for the character without
1:56transcendence . This RP without bonuses
1:58will be hitting for an average of 490 .
2:00You learned in the base damage video
2:02that when we add 4 % base damage , it is
2:04applied to the orange part , which is
2:06the base portion . So it is a 4 % increase
2:08on top of 307 . Excellent . And you also
2:12know that the 20 % perk is applied to the
2:14entire hit . So it is applied on top of
2:18490 . 20 % of 490 is an increase of 98 .
2:21However , you know this only happens
2:23when it crits . So , to compare the two ,
2:25we have to apply the critical hit
2:28chance . And by applying the crit chance
2:30, we see that for this level , this ML ,
2:32and other factors , the base perk is
2:34outperforming the extra crit perk from
2:36proficiency . That is obvious . We just
2:39saw that the break point was 1300 and
2:41we are here at level 1000 . And visually
2:42, this is more or less what happens .
2:44You learned in the base damage video
2:46that at a low level you will have low
2:49flat damage , and in this level range ,
2:51the base is winning . There will be a
2:54time when the break point happens , they
2:55become equal , and as you gain levels
2:57you gain more flat damage , which helps
2:59the extra crit damage become better
3:00than the base because the extra crit
3:02damage is multiplying the whole hit .
3:04Base damage rises more slowly because
3:06base damage only goes up when you
3:07increase your ML . And you might look at
3:10this graph of the base damage curve and
3:13say , " But from level 600 to 3,000 ,
3:15don't I only increase my ML twice ? " Yes
3:18, you are correct in that thought .
3:19However , we are not talking about
3:21increasing ML itself . We are talking
3:24about an increase in average damage per
3:26hit , comparing 4 % base with the neutral
3:28state without the perk . And this
3:31happens here . For example , at ML 43 ,
3:33you will be dealing 295 without bonuses
3:36and 307 with the 4 % bonus . This creates
3:38a difference of 12 . At ML 44 you still
3:40have a difference of 12 between the
3:42damage with and without the bonus . At
3:44ML 45 it is still 12 . And then finally
3:47at ML 46 the difference between the
3:49bonuses increases . And this is the
3:51reason why the base damage curve has so
3:53few steps . You are indeed gaining more
3:55damage as you increase your ML . That is
3:58a fact . I am not denying that . I'm just
4:01saying that the difference between
4:02having the 4 % perk or not isn't seen
4:04across all magic level increases . And
4:07going back to this chart , we also saw
4:09that if we apply a tier 4 legendary
4:10steering here , the break point shifts
4:12to the left , making extra crit better
4:14sooner . However , so far we've only
4:15talked about proficiency . Let's talk
4:17about gems now . And when I click this
4:20button , don't be shocked , because it
4:22really is impressive . The break point
4:26for an 18 % extra crit gem to beat 7.5 %
4:29base damage is at level 7800 . Yes , that
4:33, that's it . And if you apply a tier 4
4:36legendary here , the break point drops
4:37to level 5600 . So , there is currently
4:40no one in Tibia who can make an extra
4:43crit damage gem better than a base
4:46damage gem . It's a fact . And in this
4:49chart , I'm actually helping extra crit
4:51damage because after level 3000 I
4:53stopped increasing the character's ML .
4:55In reality , this ML would increase a
4:56bit more , making the break point shift
4:58further to the right . Got it ? So far ,
5:00we've managed to answer the first two
5:01questions . The first is that yes ,
5:03critical damage will always beat base
5:05damage , it just depends on the chance
5:06and the level . We answered at what
5:08level Divine Caldera becomes better
5:10with the extra crit perk . For
5:12proficiency , it's at 1375 , and for gems
5:15, it's at 7800 . But what about question
5:18three , what is the critical chance that
5:20makes the crit perk the best option ?
5:22For that same level 1000 character ,
5:23with ML extra crit damage , it needs
5:2813.1 % crit chance for the perk to be
5:30better than the base . That's not too
5:33far out of reality , right ? We have the
5:35common range between 10 % to 12 % depending
5:37on the bow being used . But remember ,
5:40this is talking about proficiency .
5:41Let's talk about gems now . And for gems
5:44, you would need a 30 % crit chance to
5:46make the crit damage perk better than
5:49the base . In other words , we conclude
5:51that this is unreachable , right ? You
5:53can stack many things in the game , you
5:55won't be able to reach a 30 % crit chance
5:57. Got it ? So we've just learned the
6:00break point numbers for Divine Caldera ,
6:02but what about the other spells ? The
6:04behavior is different . Well , let's go .
6:06We were talking about gems and critical
6:08hit chance in the last slides . So let's
6:09keep talking about that . So , we just
6:12saw , right , that for the extra crit gem
6:15to beat the base damage gem for the
6:18apple , we would need a character crit
6:20chance of 30 % . For Charan on a small
6:23level 1000 , skill 200 character and a
6:25weapon with 58 attack . For the extra
6:28crit damage gem to be better than the
6:30base damage gem , you need a character
6:32crit chance of 73 % . So , yeah , it's no
6:35joke , it's very high . And Grandf Gur
6:37would need a crit chance of 56 % here ,
6:40right ? I mean , this is just crazy . We
6:42have finally reached the laboratory .
6:44Yeah , in this video we'll have two labs
6:46, one for proficiency and one for the
6:48gems . In this first lab here , I'll show
6:50you the apple's break point , right ? So
6:52let's change things to make 1375 appear
6:55here as a break point . So , first of all
6:58, I'll set it to 1375 here and let's
7:00see if it's a break point . No , it isn't
7:04being a break point for the sanguine
7:05bow , right ? We're talking about
7:07proficiency , this is a sanguine bow
7:09proficiency . With bow proficiency ,
7:11we'll have 12 % crit , right ? So this
7:13helps the crit damage become better .
7:16And we have an extra crit damage node
7:18of 80 . And there , the two are finally
7:21tied here , right ? So if I move it down
7:23a bit , base is better . If I move it up
7:25a bit , crit is better . Well , excellent .
7:28Let's look now at the extremes so you
7:31can 100 % understand how all the
7:34variables work here . So let's first
7:36change the level . We know that level
7:38will improve crit damage much more ,
7:40okay ? Uh , let's increase the ML .
7:42Increasing ML helps the base perk more .
7:45Increasing extra crit ends up helping
7:47the base , right ? So , if I put it at
7:48zero here , you'll see here , look , 197 .
7:50And if I put it at 100 , 20 , 17 . So , it
7:53only helped the base . Other things ,
7:56right ? Up here , if I put wheel damage ,
7:58I'll put extreme numbers here so you
8:00can see which one helps more . So , I'll
8:03put it here , look , 10 , I'll put 100 ,
8:061000 . And you will see that the number
8:09that increases the most is the crit ,
8:10right ? So , wheel damage increases crit ,
8:12alright ? It's flat , we already knew
8:14that . And other things that could
8:16change here , one of them is base damage
8:18. So , if we're talking about
8:20proficiency , we could put four base
8:21damage gems , yeah , on the wheel , which
8:23gives a total of 30 . And then you add
8:26the 10 from the perk down on the bottom
8:28left of the wheel and you could have 40
8:30here from the apple chest . And this
8:33doesn't help the base , it helps the
8:35crit . So if I put several zeros here ,
8:37you'll see that the one taking the most
8:38advantage of this base increase is the
8:40critical damage . And lastly , the skill
8:44as extra damage on spells . So I'll put
8:46a skill X here , it doesn't matter , and
8:49I'll put eight here , which is what
8:51people usually have in the extra
8:52critical damage perk , yeah , on spells .
8:55And then , if I put several zeros here ,
8:57you will see that this benefits
8:58critical damage . Well , excellent . We
9:01learned everything there about the
9:03apple chest . But what about the
9:06Shorigran ? How does that look ? Well ,
9:08let's go . Currently in this setup here ,
9:11level 1000 , skill 200 , weapon attack 58
9:13, critical damage here at 12.5 .
9:16Critical hit chance , I'll leave this at
9:1780 , which is the standard . The base is
9:20winning . Well , let's increase the level
9:22to see if the crit starts winning . Well
9:25, the crit didn't start winning , so
9:27let's keep this comparison in a real
9:28scenario . I'm not going to keep putting
9:31in absurd crits because that doesn't
9:32exist . The weapon attack is already
9:34high , the skill is already high . Let's
9:36put things here that help critical
9:38damage become better than the base . So
9:40we learned that the wheel damage ,
9:42because it's flat damage , helps . So
9:44I'll put a wheel here , I don't know ,
9:45with 50 points , which would be a level
9:473,000 wheel . Huh , it's still not better
9:50. Adding base damage will help the
9:52critical damage perk . So let's put , for
9:54example , as if he were using two full
9:56gems , right , which would give 15 plus
9:58the 10 that comes from the wheel ,
10:00totaling 25 . And now it's almost
10:02getting better . There's only one thing
10:05missing , which is putting in the skill ,
10:07right , of the thousand , right ? So put 8
10:10% here . The skill is already here . And
10:12it's almost there , it's almost there .
10:15Ah , there is obviously one thing
10:16missing here , right ? Tier . Let's set a
10:18tier 3 , and there , OK , finally the
10:21critical damage perk is better . Let's
10:23lower the level to see what the break
10:25point is . The break point reached 2150
10:31here . So at 2150 , 2140 here , the break
10:36point for this situation happens on the
10:40Shorigr . And now , the gem laboratory .
10:43Let's go to Evo Maçã first . With
10:46Maçã , we already saw at the beginning
10:48that the break point , without forcing
10:51it , was at level 7800 , right ? So I can
10:53literally raise all of this . Magic
10:56level helps the base , so I won't
10:58increase it much more than 50 . I'll
11:01leave critical chance at 12 . It doesn't
11:03make sense to push it too hard here .
11:05Critical damage , I'll leave at 100 % .
11:10Tier on the legs , I'll leave it at tier
11:125 . Build , let's leave it with 50 flat .
11:16Let's go full base damage here , that
11:18would be four gems , totaling 30 plus 10
11:20from the wheel , ending up with 40 .
11:24Distance fight . Let's set distance here
11:26to , I don't know , 250 and the distance
11:28perk here to eight . And so , nothing I
11:31do makes the critical damage better . Ah
11:33, the number is very close . Yes , it's
11:35close , but it's not better . That's a
11:37fact . So , man , a critical damage gem is
11:40crazy ; you need a lot of things to make
11:42it better . Maybe a transcendence level
11:4610 here , tier 10 . Ah , then it's fine .
11:48It's fine now . It only needs that . A
11:50tier 10 leg . Shorigan spell . Which is
11:52the same thing , right ? If Evo Maçã is
11:55a spell with a low base , Shorigra ,
11:57which has a high base , will be much
12:00harder . I won't even do the math here
12:02because it's crazy . It's the same
12:05things here , right ? Just missing the
12:07skill . Oh , no , the skill is already
12:09here , look . So , man , no , there isn't .
12:12And even so , look , it's a little bit
12:13far , isn't it ? 953 to 889 and it's at
12:16an absurd level . So , man , it takes a
12:19lot of levels to be able to make . a
12:22critical damage gem better than a base
12:24damage gem . The same thing here for the
12:26Ice Wave , right , for the Grandf Guror ,
12:28it's very similar to the Shorigan ,
12:29right ? So , setting a high level ,
12:32setting a high skill here , tier 10 , a
12:35build that favors things that increase
12:38damage for critical damage and base
12:41damage is winning by a landslide , right
12:44? So , critical damage gems are a total
12:48trap . And honestly , I need to say this
12:51because a lot of people have this
12:52question , and I’m not gonna lie , I do
12:54get some comments asking about this ,
12:56you know ? So for example , here Pezini
12:58asks if you can explain how this
13:00interacts with critical damage , right ?
13:01He’s talking about the base damage
13:03video here . I’m an ED , and I was
13:04messing around with the calculator . I
13:05have two tier 4 Grand Frigur base
13:07damage gems , and I was trying to see if
13:09two tier 4 critical damage gems would
13:12ever become better than the base ones .
13:14But I noticed that even when increasing
13:15the values significantly , it seems like
13:17additional crit damage needs much more
13:18to become better than base . In the case
13:20of Grand Frigur , are you right ? We just
13:22looked at that . Which actually left me
13:23a bit curious as to why that happens .
13:25After all , two Grand Frigur base damage
13:27gems add up to 24 % . Yes , while two
13:29critical damage gems add up to 44 % . Yes
13:31, I know crit chance influences this
13:34case , but even raising the crit chance
13:38to levels we usually can't even reach
13:40in Tibia — though I recall I tested it
13:42with almost 20 % crit chance that day —
13:43critical damage kept performing worse .
13:45Man , I actually made part of this video
13:47with that comment in mind . So , back
13:49here , in a quick summary , and
13:51specifically for Grand Frigur , if we
13:54are talking about level , we need level
13:5720,000 , above level 20,000 to make the
14:00crit gem better than the base gem . Ah ,
14:04if we are looking at crit chance , he
14:06mentioned he tested with 20 % crit chance
14:07, which was already unrealistic . If we
14:10look at the crit chance required to
14:12make a crit gem better than a base gem
14:14on Grand Frigur , we would need 56 % crit
14:15chance . So that’s really it , man .
14:19Those are absurd numbers , both for crit
14:21chance and when we look at the level
14:22required . The closest thing to reality
14:25here was the Exevo Mas , which , by
14:27really pushing it , we can manage to
14:29make the crit gem better at level 2675 .
14:33Obviously , nobody is going to do that ,
14:35because there are better things to do
14:37when choosing gems for the wheel .
14:39That’s it for today’s video . I hope
14:40you understood the concept and the
14:42relationship between base and critical
14:45damage , both for proficiency and for
14:47gems . And I also hope you keep in mind
14:50that a good answer is only possible
14:52when we have all the numbers on the
14:55table . So , ah , what is the breakpoint
14:57for your character ? I don't know . I
14:59don't know who your character is . If
15:00you're in doubt about your character's
15:02breakpoint , just go to TibiaTools ,
15:04enter your character's stats , and
15:05you'll find out which equipment is best
15:07. There's no secret , it's literally
15:09that . Yes , we learned in this video
15:11that critical damage gems are a trap ,
15:14but that doesn't change the fact that
15:16at a certain level and crit chance they
15:18will become better . But currently in
15:21the game , in the time we're living in
15:23here in 2026 , that's very far from
15:26reality . So , see you next time . Later ,
15:28take care .
