0:00Beerus suddenly destroys the Dragon
0:01Balls while Goku is making [music] a
0:02wish and even Whis cannot understand
0:04why. It begins when Goku gathers the
0:06Dragon Balls to revive a small village
0:08destroyed during Frieza's latest attack.
0:09Shenron appears and just as Goku [music]
0:11begins speaking, Beerus fires a Hakai
0:13directly at the dragon. Everyone watches
0:14in shock as Shenron disappears and
0:16[music] all seven Dragon Balls turn to
0:17stone. Furious, Goku demands an
0:19explanation but Beerus refuses to
0:20answer. [music] He only stares at the
0:22empty sky and says, "That wasn't
0:23Shenron." Bulma insists the Dragon Balls
0:25were working normally while [music]
0:26Vegeta accuses Beerus of destroying them
0:28for no reason. Then the ground suddenly
0:29shakes. Far away, the destroyed [music]
0:31village begins rebuilding itself and
0:32Goku smiles believing his wish was
0:34granted before Shenron vanished. But
0:35Beerus immediately orders everyone to
0:37stay away. [music] Seconds later, the
0:38revived villagers begin repeating the
0:39same movements. A child drops a toy,
0:41picks it up, then drops it again. Every
0:43person in the village is [music]
0:43trapped. Goku rushes forward to help but
0:45Beerus blocks him. He reveals that the
0:47dragon they summoned was not the real
0:48Shenron. It was a demonic [music]
0:49Shenron created from energy leaking out
0:51of the demon realm. The villagers were
0:53not truly alive. Suddenly, the stone
0:54Dragon [music] Balls begin rising from
0:56the ground on their own. Dark energy
0:57spreads across the sky as Shenron's
0:59voice begs Goku to complete his wish.
1:01But Beerus destroys one of the Dragon
1:02[music] Balls before it can awaken. The
1:04entire village instantly disappears.
1:05Then voices come from behind them. The
1:07real villagers are standing [music]
1:08there. They were never dead. Whis
1:09realizes Frieza secretly moved everyone
1:11away before destroying the empty
1:13village. [music] But nobody understands
1:14why Frieza would save them. Whis raises
1:16his staff and discovers the truth. The
1:17Demon King granted Frieza a powerful
1:19[music] new transformation in exchange
1:20for opening a permanent entrance from
1:22the Demon Realm into Universe 7. Frieza
1:24knew Goku [music] would gather the
1:25Dragon Balls after seeing the destroyed
1:26village. He corrupted the summoning and
1:27replaced Shenron with the demonic
1:29dragon. Beerus didn't destroy Goku's
1:30wish. He stopped an invasion [music]
1:31before it began.
