0:01they feel like they're behind they're in
0:03their 20s and they feel like they're
0:04running out of time let me give you a
0:05little timeline of my life 19 years old
0:08I opened my first video store I opened
0:10my first video store with none of my own
0:11money cuz I had none of my own money my
0:13father was nice enough to loan me the
0:14down payment the investment to buy into
0:17this video store we were opening but it
0:18was an interest loan I had to pay it
0:20back I only had enough to own 25% of
0:22that first video store one year later my
0:25partner comes to me and says hey you
0:26need to buy out the other partners it's
0:28time for us to move on I'm devastated
0:30I'm like did I hurtt your feelings I
0:31thought we were all making money he goes
0:32no no no all businesses are commodity
0:34they're made to be bought sold and
0:36traded now it's time for us to sell I
0:38bought my Partnerships out that went
0:40from 19 now I'm 20 and business has been
0:43phenomenal we blew away our projections
0:46crazier he lives in Fargo I live in
0:48Arizona he doesn't know I don't know
0:49what I'm doing I'm just bringing in the
0:51cash making money at the video store at
0:53the counter but I'm not taking care of
0:54the back end of the business and he
0:56doesn't know that what happens the next
0:58year is the tax man comes I owe state
1:01tax I owe 941 tax I owe IRS I owe
1:04everybody and business is booming so I
1:07have to bring in an accountant to fix
1:08this situation the only thing is the
1:11penalties and interest that had piled up
1:12for that time period And as they were
1:14going forward it took me 3 years to pay
1:16that off so I'm four years into business
1:18so 1920 so I'm 24 25 years old I pay it
1:22all off but I'm at zero at 25 years old
1:25now I start opening La mats video stores
1:26car washes whatever I'm doing and
1:28business gets going again and I'm doing
1:29doing fine but recession hits now I'm 29
1:33haven't been taken care of my wife and I
1:35go through a divorce turns into to be
1:37kind of a messy divorce we're just
1:39barely getting by I said hey let me keep
1:41these businesses you take every single
1:43thing I gave her all of our personal
1:45assets checking savings everything uh
1:48retirement accounts every single thing
1:50we had there you go at 29 years old I
1:53was down to my last
1:54$275 so people out there that are
1:57stressed out because they're in their
1:5820s and they think they should be
1:59further along I turned $29 with $275 in
2:02my pocket and a couple struggling
2:03businesses from that point on I just
2:05kept running I hit the ground running
2:07don't beat yourself up man you don't
2:08have to be anywhere it's never too late
2:10you're in your 20s you're struggling hey
2:12keep struggling figure it out the
2:13internet's going to help you surround
2:14yourself by the right people you know
2:15all the answers you're in the 30s guess
2:17what you're in the same position keep
2:18doing it you're in your 40s you're still
2:19okay man just keep working keep grinding
2:22and have a plan figure it out be
2:23disciplined and persistent get better at
2:25what you're doing and you'll figure it
2:26out man don't beat yourself up cuz
2:28you're 20s something you think oh my God
2:30it's it's passed me up I can never make
2:32the money I want to do or have the life
2:33I wanted well it's just right around the
2:34corner man just keep working
