0:00The biggest thing you need to remember,
0:02eyes for opportunity. You got to be
0:04looking for opportunities every day. I
0:05guarantee this morning you didn't get up
0:07and look for opportunities. But tomorrow
0:08morning when you get up, you got to be
0:10looking for opportunities every day.
0:12People say it all the time. Well, I I
0:14can't find an opportunity. Mike, when
0:16you were younger, I remember you telling
0:17me stories of just writing down
0:18every day. Always looking for the
0:20opportunities that were out there. I
0:21carried a notebook with me and I
0:23literally would challenge myself to
0:24write down I was into inventions and
0:26business opportunities. So every day I
0:28challenge myself to write down a
0:30business opportunity that I came up with
0:32or an invention. I still have the
0:34notebooks.
0:35>> You still have the notebooks today.
0:36>> I still have the notebooks today.
0:38Literally I still have the notebooks
0:39today. I've kept them all these years.
0:41And when I look back at them, I was
0:43writing down inventions and businesses.
0:45And a lot of the businesses I literally
0:47opened. A lot of the inventions I built
0:49prototypes, never did anything with
0:51them. But the businesses I opened those
0:53businesses. I challenged myself so much
0:55that I would get made fun of and people
0:57used to like to listen to my ideas. I'm
0:59on a boat one time in a marina. My
1:01buddies are out there. They go, "All
1:03right, you think you can come up with a
1:04business idea? Come up with one right
1:06now." I looked around the marina. I seen
1:08a fish feeder on a dock. Someone was
1:10putting some money in it and they were
1:12throwing the fish food to the carp or
1:13whatever the hell was down below. So, I
1:15went home, found a supplier for those
1:17fish feeders, put them up and down
1:19casino boardwalk there along the
1:20Colorado River. And for eight years, I
1:24never did less than $4,000 in one month.
1:26And I never did more than $13,000 in one
1:28month. It was unbelievable. I had more
1:30quarters than I knew what to do with,
1:32but it happened because I took action
1:34and figured it out and I had eyes for
1:36opportunity and I was open to a
1:38challenge to come up with a business
1:40opportunity right on the spot. But I was
1:42able to do it. Changed my life.
1:44>> I remember cuz I was there at that time.
1:45I used to see you walk through the
1:47parking lot. dude had bags full of
1:49quarters all the time because he started
1:51that business. And I remember like that
1:52was ingenious, man. The amount of people
1:54that are tourists that come to that town
1:56and end up going to those fish feeders
1:58to feed the fish. Plus, you were doing a
2:00good thing cuz you were donating a
2:01portion of it to the Boys and Girls
2:02Club. But the thing about it is Mike had
2:05eyes for opportunity. He was constantly
2:07looking. He was constantly writing that
2:09stuff down. I'm telling you, tomorrow
2:10morning when you get up, you've got to
2:12write down ideas. is you got to be
2:14searching ideas in your local community
2:16and running ideas past one another. Find
2:19another mentor that you can talk and run
2:20those ideas by. But you have to have
2:22eyes for opportunity.
2:24>> When you're solving problems, that's
2:26where money is made.
2:28>> Real quick, I'm 21 years old now. I have
2:31a wife and our washing machine breaks
2:35down. So, I have my my video store.
2:37Sunday, we go to do laundry. The laundry
2:39mat in the local area was completely
2:41packed. Couldn't do laundry. So, I said,
2:43"No problem. Tomorrow after work at
2:45midnight, I'll go and do laundry." I go
2:47there at midnight. They're open 24
2:49hours. It's still too busy for me to do
2:51my laundry. I go home to my wife and I
2:53tell her, I go, "Here's the deal. We're
2:54not fixing that wash machine until we
2:57own a laundromat." I had zero dollars to
2:59do it, but I had a millionaire mindset
3:02and I had eyes for opportunity. N months
3:04later, with none of my own money, we
3:07opened up a laundromat that was actually
3:10one of the busiest laundry mats in the
3:11country. So, I'll tell you more about it
3:13later, but what's my point? My point is
3:15I always had a millionaire mindset and I
3:17always had eyes for opportunity. This is
3:20a chance for you to get the same
3:22attitude, the same confidence, the same
3:24eyes for opportunity. So, in this
3:26lesson, you're going to have to carry a
3:28notebook. You're going to have to write
3:29it down, put it in your phone, however
3:30you want to keep track of things. But,
3:31you got to make a decision that you will
3:33be looking for opportunities all around
3:35you. You have to have eyes for
3:36opportunity. I can't stress it enough.
3:38Write it down.
3:39>> Find the demands in your community.
3:40That's what Mike did. He found an
3:42opportunity within his community. Mike
3:44found that the laundry mat was packed
3:4724/7. So guess what? There's room to
3:49open another laundromat in town and he
3:51did. And then that catapulted to another
3:53one and another one and another one. So
3:55it got him his start by just identifying
3:58the eyes for opportunity within his
4:00community.
4:01>> The other thing now you have the
4:03internet. Think of all the
4:04opportunities, all the businesses, all
4:06the things that open up every single day
4:09online. You can open these same type of
4:11businesses from your bedroom, but it's
4:13eyes for opportunity. You know, you're
4:15on the internet all the time. Are you
4:16looking for business ideas or are you
4:19just entertaining yourself? When you
4:20decide to have a millionaire mindset,
4:22the entertainment part has to go away.
4:24It's all about having eyes for
4:26opportunity. Lots of times you got to
4:28identify, is this something that's
4:30actually a hobby or is it a true
4:32business idea? People come to Mike and I
4:34all the time with some kind of an idea,
4:36but you just realize that it's a hobby.
4:38It's not really something that you can
4:39monetize and it's just like a fun thing
4:42that they like to do that they think
4:43that that's business. Business is
4:45business. Stay focused. Stay
4:46disciplined. And then when you're
4:48looking for those eyes of opportunity,
4:50you got to end up realizing that where
4:52problems are solved, money is made. So
4:54wherever that demand is, like with the
4:56laundromat, there was a need. Mike found
4:58that need and made money by doing it.
5:00>> You know, the other thing is eyes for
5:02opportunity,
5:03millionaire mindset. It comes back to
5:06who you surround yourself also. So with
5:08eyes for opportunity and a millionaire
5:10mindset, remember that you need to
5:12surround yourself with the right people.
5:15If you want to be a millionaire, hang
5:16around with five millionaires, you'll be
5:18the six. You want to be a stock broker,
5:20hang around with five stock brokers,
5:21you'll be the six. On the other side of
5:23it, hang around with five alcoholics,
5:25you'll be the six. Also, it's just
5:27important. You got to have a millionaire
5:28mindset. Got to have eyes for
5:29opportunity. You got to put yourself in
5:31the position to find those
5:33opportunities. Write it down. Get with
5:35the right people. You are going to have
5:37to make changes in your life. People
5:39that you are hanging out with now that
5:41are in your life, they may have to go.
5:43But then it's up to you to find people,
5:45mentors. This course watching it over
5:48and over again to get the millionaire
5:50mindset. It's in there. You just haven't
5:52brought it out yet. I believe everybody
5:55can get the millionaire mindset, the
5:57positive attitude, and the confidence to
6:00have eyes for opportunity. Okay. Okay,
6:02the takeaways from this lesson is number
6:04one, you got to recognize problems and
6:06bring solutions. A great example is Mike
6:09with the laundromat. He recognized there
6:10was a problem. There weren't enough
6:12laundromats in our community. So, guess
6:13what? He opened one, recognized a
6:16problem, brought a solution. Perfect.
6:18Two, you got to hang around like-minded
6:20people. It helped us to scale. We got
6:23around people that thought like us, had
6:25the same drive as us, and guess what? It
6:28helped us to scale. It helped us to
6:30level up. Number three, search for the
6:32demand in your community. There is one
6:34out there. You just haven't recognized
6:36it yet. So, you got to be looking. Eyes
6:38for opportunity. So, what's the lesson
6:40here? The lesson here is you have to
6:42train your mind to always be looking for
6:45opportunities. They're out there.
6:47They're everywhere. You just haven't
6:48discovered them yet. The homework from
6:50this lesson that tomorrow morning when
6:52you wake up, get that notepad out and
6:55start writing down the opportunities
6:57that are in your community. You have to
6:59have a different mindset when you wake
7:00up tomorrow. Different from what you
7:02woke up today. Have the mindset that
7:04hey, I am going to look for those
7:06demands that are in my community, my
7:08local community. I'm going to find those
7:10problems, find solutions, and find the
7:12opportunities within my community. But
7:15you got to have a different mindset
7:16tomorrow morning when you wake up.
