0:06their eyes empty. And when he tries to
0:08speak, his voice makes no sound. Gohan
0:10steps forward from the crowd, his face
0:11twisted with an expression Goku has
0:13never seen on his son, pure hatred. And
0:15he asks a question that drives a spike
0:17through Goku's heart. How many of us had
0:18to die because you kept sparing the
0:19enemies who came back stronger? Vegeta
0:21appears next to Gohan, his arms crossed,
0:23his voice cold and factual as he lists
0:25every name, every battle, every moment
0:27Goku's mercy led to more suffering. And
0:28the crowd begins to close in attacking,
0:30just staring, waiting for an answer Goku
0:32does not have. Piccolo's voice cuts
0:33through the silence and he tells Goku
0:35something worse than any insult. You
0:36were never a hero. You were an addict.
0:38You kept us in danger so you could feel
0:39the rush of saving us. Goku tries to
0:41deny it, tries to explain, but his words
0:43feel hollow even to himself. Krillin
0:45steps forward, tears in his eyes,
0:46holding the hand of a daughter who died
0:48in a timeline Goku failed to protect.
0:49And his voice cracks as he asks the
0:51question that breaks everything. If you
0:52had to choose between saving us and
0:54fighting someone strong, which would you
0:55pick? Goku opens his mouth and nothing
0:57comes out because somewhere deep down he
0:58knows the truth.
