0:00Fact: Presentations are not easy.

0:03But what's worse is a group presentation.

0:06My name is Carl Kwan; lecturer, consultant, voice actor & radio personality helping businesses

0:12with presentations, promo videos & marketing.

0:16If you've ever given a group presentation, you would know that group presentations pose

0:21their own challenges.

0:24One such challenge is knowing what to say when you finish what you have to say and have

0:29to hand the presentation over to the next speaker.

0:33So here is a simple, three step process for when you have to introduce the next speaker:

0:39The first thing you have to do is summarise what you said.

0:43You can say something like...

0:44"So that is an introduction to the song Gangnam style."

0:48Now you're going to introduce the next speaker.

0:51It's actually pretty simple, but what I want you to notice is that there are three distinct

0:56parts.

0:57See if you can figure out what those three parts are.

1:00Ready?

1:01"Here now is Nathan McMurray, Attorney at Law, to talk about the legal ramifications

1:07of doing the Gangnam Style dance while at work."

1:12Did you get them?

1:13I knew you would.

1:14But for those that didn't catch those three parts, here they are:

1:19First, I introduced the person's name by saying, "Here now is Nathan McMurray."

1:25Second, I told you his title, "Attorney at Law."

1:28If the person you are introducing doesn't have a title, then you can tell us where he

1:34or she's from, or just something to help us understand who the person is.

1:40Third, I told you what he was going to talk about by saying, "to talk about…"

1:45Okay, by now you have just summarised what you said, introduced the next speaker, and

1:51now you're finished, right?

1:53Wrong!

1:54This was a three-step process, remember?

1:56And step three is where you tell the speaker that it's time for him or her to speak.

2:02All you have to say is their name.

2:05Just like this: "Nathan."

2:07Make sure you use the same intonation that I just used and that you also look over to

2:12the person and motion to them with your hand like I just did.

2:16There you go, a simple, three step process for when you have to introduce the next speaker.

2:23First, summarise what you said.

2:25Second, introduce the next speaker.

2:27And third, tell the next speaker it's time to speak.

2:31Question time…

2:32What would people say is the hardest part about giving a group presentation?

2:37Let me know what you think by leaving your answer in the comments section below this

2:42video.

2:43If you have any questions about this particular topic or anything else about presentations,

2:49leave your question in that same, wonderful comments section below.

2:53Thank you for watching and talk to you again next time.
