0:13and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one
0:17that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room,
0:21you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power
0:26is present. That power is there to do a work. Believe in what's
0:31present, not trying to get something, but notice that he's
0:34already made it yours. It's present right where you're at.
0:37Say, I receive that power. CONGREGATION: I receive that
0:40power. NANCY: I receive it right now. CONGREGATION: I receive it

0:53NANCY: Welcome. We are so glad you're joining with us
0:56today. For Jesus the healer. Come on in.
0:59We're having a good time. We have been studying on
1:02following the Holy Spirit. Why? Because he's always endeavoring
1:08to lead us into God's best. And He, he brings to us and imparts
1:14the wisdom of God. And he knows the mind of God for your life.
1:19Amen. And so the better we, recognize and follow him, the
1:27sweeter life is, the easier life is because we're not living by
1:31bumping into walls and say, oh, that's the wrong direction, bump
1:34into another wall. No, we can live accurately. Amen. And so
1:39one of the greatest privileges of every born again believer is
1:43to have the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost. He is the
1:46greater one on the inside. And I love that God. The Word
1:51describes him as the greater one. Meaning there's a lesser
1:54one that's not worthy of attention. Amen. And so he left
1:59heaven to dwell in the believer making us his home. And, it,
2:06since he makes us his home, we want him to feel at home. We
2:12want to host him properly. And, we want to host him with honor,
2:17with courtesy, meaning we don't ignore him. We don't treat him
2:23as unimportant, but he is the honored, occupant of this
2:29temple. Amen. And so, we're learning, we've got, we've
2:34already, taught some episodes. We want you to go back and watch
2:37them because there's some things that we've said we don't want
2:40you to lose. The Holy Spirit endeavors to lead every
2:45believer, but many times believers have not yet been
2:49taught to follow their spirits. And then many, you know, you
2:54don't learn to follow your spirit overnight. You have to
2:56practice, you have to learn. What does that look like? Amen.
3:00And so this is what some of the things we've been teaching
3:04about, and we'll continue to teach on it for a while. Our
3:07spiritual father, dad Hagin, used to say this, if you can
3:10teach people to follow their spirits, you can help them in
3:14every arena of life. Now, listen to that. Why? Because in your
3:19spirit is the answer for every arena of your life. Whether it's
3:23a physical issue, whether it's a financial issue, a marital
3:26issue, something with parenting, something with business. The
3:30Holy Spirit is our answer giver. Amen. And he draws the answers
3:35from the Word. Amen. If you can teach people to follow their
3:42spirits, you can help them in every arena of life. As a
3:46pastor, it was not my job to lead people's lives. It was my
3:51job to feed them the Word. It was my job to teach them the
3:56Holy Spirit, to teach them how to follow the Holy Spirit so
4:01that they weren't leaning on me. They were leaning on the Word
4:04and the Spirit. And, throughout my pastorate, when people would
4:10come to me and they would have, I, I did very little counseling
4:14because I did it from the pulpit. If you'll listen,
4:17because I, I endeavored to teach things that they need to live on
4:21every day. That's always been my purpose and my goal and the
4:24direction that I go is giving people something to live on
4:28every day to help them live successfully. So the bulk of my
4:32counseling was in that pulpit. And, there were times though
4:36that people were ma facing decisions that were crossroad
4:39decisions for their lives. And they would come and meet with
4:42me. And, one of the things I was cautious to not do is tell them
4:48what to do. What am I gonna do? I point them back. What's,
4:52what's your spirit? What is the Holy Ghost within you saying to
4:56you? Because if I can teach them to follow their spirit, the next
5:00time they need to know an answer, they've gained some
5:03skill. I'm not teaching them to lean on an individual. I'm not
5:08teaching them to run to somebody else, to prop them up. It's not
5:11wrong to encourage someone and to even offer that help, but
5:15it's wrong to teach people to lean the wrong direction. Amen.
5:20And so that's always been my purpose. And if I can teach
5:23anyone who will listen how to follow your spirit, you're never
5:27without help. You're never without answers. You're never
5:31without clarity, wisdom, and direction. Amen. The Holy Spirit
5:36abides in us. But what he needs is our cooperation with him. He
5:41cannot and will not lead us apart from our inviting him to.
5:47He will not force himself. So many times people will say,
5:53well, it just seems like God leads that person more than me.
5:56No, he's not leading you. Leading someone more. That
6:00person is turning to him more. They're inviting him more. Amen.
6:07If we will learn to follow the Holy Spirit, he will lead the
6:13sick into healing. He will lead those with financial problems
6:18into prosperity. He will lead marriage problems into peace.
6:21Amen. Why? Because He, he leads by the Word know this, the Holy
6:27Spirit is, he is most interested in working with the Word. And so
6:33he will always lead us in line with the Word. And, that's what
6:39makes him a worthy guide. Amen. We don't want to grieve the Holy
6:45Spirit by not permitting him to be in us. Who he came to be in
6:51us. He came to to be a helper. He came to lead and guide and
6:57teach. And we don't want to grieve him by not allowing him
7:00to be what he came to be. Amen. It does matter that, he's
7:07welcomed. It does matter that he's welcomed. Amen. He is the
7:12divine genius within. We do not want to just keep living by our
7:17own intellect and our own ability when we had the divine
7:20genius available to us. Amen. As I've said, as I said, I've
7:28endeavored to teach people to follow their spirits rather than
7:32to lean on someone else because someone else may not always be
7:35there. What you're gonna do in the middle of the night when no
7:38one else is accessible to you. Amen. At times of opposition,
7:43difficulty in testing, there may not be the, the right person
7:49there with the right answer in their mouth. But the Holy Spirit
7:52always imparts the right answer. Always, always, always. Because
7:59he is the ever present helper on the inside. That means you have
8:02help all the time. Not just seasonally. Not just
8:07periodically, not just during church. All the time. You had
8:11divine help. The more aware we are of him, the more we yield to
8:15him, the more we recognize his moving and what he's saying to
8:19us, the more help we'll receive from him. Turn with me if you
8:23would, in your Bibles, let's go to John chapter 16. John chapter
8:2716 in verse seven. And of course, before Jesus was
8:32crucified, this is what he said to his disciples, he said, It is
8:37expedient, or that word expedient means advantageous.
8:41It's to your advantage. It's expedient for you that I go
8:47away. Now, wait a minute. If I were a disciple following Jesus,
8:51I'd go, Uhhuh, No, I'd rather have you here. It's not, it
8:56doesn't seem like it's better to me that you go. But Jesus said,
9:01it is better, it is expedient for you that I go away for if I
9:07go not away, the comforter will not come. But if I depart, I
9:13will send him unto you. Amen. So what does this mean? This word
9:19expedient, it's to your advantage. That means when we
9:24follow the Holy Spirit, we have the advantage. As the dwelling
9:30place of the Holy Spirit, we have an advantage. Now let's use
9:32our advantage. Let's lean to our advantage. Amen. He gives us the
9:42advantage by giving us God's mind for us. He imparts the
9:49wisdom of God. He will direct us based on God's plan for our
9:53life. And He helps us to know, brings us into, makes clear to
9:59us, God's mind for us. That gives us an advantage over the
10:04devil, over situations, over opposition. When my husband went
10:10home to be with the Lord, there were eight major projects that
10:14we needed to finish. They were projects that I had no, I had no
10:19part in. While my husband was here, because he handled the
10:24business side of the ministry. So I stepped into these
10:27midstream. You feel a bit at a disadvantage just naturally. By
10:33not having been in on this all the way along. Right. But not
10:38only that, I, I'm, I'm reminded of one, conference call that I
10:42had. There was a a business transaction that I was
10:47endeavoring to make. And, we could not come in agreement on
10:52how that was gonna be carried out. They had their lawyer on
10:56the phone. I didn't have a lawyer on the phone. They had
11:00multiple people giving them counsel, business advisors on
11:04this conference call. I had me, and there was one other minister
11:09that was basically there for me. And just say, naturally the deck
11:15was stacked against me. And they were trying to, well, they were
11:24proposing things that were to my disadvantage. And I recognize N
11:30N I I, I was born at night, but not last night. You know, I got
11:37a little bit more of life under my belt than that, but I know
11:41this in business, there are times when there's maybe some
11:45give and take. Right. I mean, you, you work with that setting
11:50because you can demand that something be your way and end up
11:54thinking you won when really, you, you ruined the whole deal.
11:57Just cause you got your way. I don't want, I didn't want to
12:01ruin this entire transaction just by demanding something. I
12:06realize, you know, you being bullheaded doesn't, always work
12:11to your advantage. So I would felt, if I could say this dog
12:16piled And I had in my heart what seemed it. God hadn't said
12:23anything to me. It just, there is a certain direction with this
12:26transaction that it, this transaction needs to take. And
12:30it, I just seem, it just seems to me that's the direction to
12:33take. But yet they're endeavoring to go a whole
12:35different direction with this. So in the middle of the
12:38conference call lawyers on the phone, everything else, I said,
12:41I need to step away for a moment. I walked away from that
12:46conference call. I went into a private office and I said, Holy
12:49Spirit, I said, I'll do what needs to be done. I'm not gonna
12:55go in there and be demanding about my way, but I just need to
12:59know your mind on this. And I said, in my heart, it seems like
13:05I should not be giving them the things they're demanding. Not
13:11because I'm just trying to win. It just doesn't seem like that's
13:14the right direction. And I said, but I'm, I, I look to your
13:18genius. You know, the, you know, both sides of this, you know,
13:22the, the entire picture and the entire scope of this. So I just
13:26want to, I just, I want to make sure that what I'm sensing is
13:33what you're leading me in. And he said these words to me, don't
13:37give him a thing. I go, got it. It wasn't about me winning my
13:44way. I had the advantage now. Why? Because now I know what the
13:50Spirit said. I know his mind on this situation. This is what
13:55Jesus said. He said, it's expedient. It's to your
13:58advantage that I go away. Why? Because when I go away, I'll
14:02send the comforter. I will send the helper, I will send the
14:05guide. I will send the teacher. Listen, this was my first rodeo
14:10in that sense. It wasn't a Holy Ghost first rodeo. Amen. I'm
14:14bringing his experience to the table. I'm bringing his
14:19expertise. I'm bringing his genius. I'm not just counting on
14:23my own. And so I walked back in there and now, even though there
14:30was, there were more schooled people on their side, their
14:35lawyers and everything. And I didn't have in myself that kind
14:39of an education. I came back in with the advantage. Why? Because
14:45I knew the mind of the Holy Ghost on this, which is what the
14:49mind of the Father. And I walked in and I said, this is what I
14:54need to, this is, this is the, the the terms. And this is, this
14:58is what I'll be. This is what I'll be sticking to. And it
15:01played out exactly the way the Holy Ghost said. Now don't
15:05misunderstand me. There was a little bit of pushback. But when
15:08you have, when you know how he's leading, it doesn't matter who's
15:13pushing, who's shoving. And how it looks like it's going, you
15:16have the advantage. Because even though when things look like
15:20they're going the wrong direction, when you know what
15:22the spirit said, you know the outcome. And that's the
15:26advantage, knowing the, the divine genius. His guidance.
15:32Amen. So the more we can recognize how the Spirit leads,
15:38the more the divine genius will lead us into success. If we, we
15:42never followed the spirit and failed. No, no one ever did.
15:47Amen. He only leads into success because there is no failure in
15:53his flow. Amen. So to have the Holy Spirit in you, which you
16:00have if you're born again. You have the advantage. You have the
16:05advantage. Now pay attention to the one who gives you the
16:09advantage. Amen. Listen to him. One of the greatest things to
16:13know in life is what to do. See, in that situation, I needed to
16:18know what to do. And, when you're faced with situations,
16:23you need to know what to do. And, we can calculate in our own
16:29heads what we think ought to be done. But when we calculate, the
16:32only fa things we can factor in is what we know. But when the
16:36Holy Spirit counsels, he factors in everything. He knows so much
16:43more. He knows the future that we haven't arrived at. He knows
16:45it. You tell you talk about advantage, baby. That's
16:49advantage. Amen. Amen. He, he makes known to us the mind of
16:55God for our lives and for every situation that arises in life.
17:00So take take your time every day to look to him on the
17:06circumstances, the daily issues of life. And listen, it doesn't
17:11take long labored hours of prayer to learn how he's
17:14leading. You can know in a moment. You can know in a
17:18moment. He will bear witness with you and you'll know exactly
17:20which direction to go in a moment. But we have to practice.
17:23We have to know what that leading is like. And we're gonna
17:27talk about these things coming up. So you don't want to miss
17:30some of this because we're gonna get more detailed. Right now I'm
17:34just talking to you about the importance of following the Holy
17:37Spirit. But we're gonna get down into the, the nuts and bolts of,
17:40what that is like. Amen. On one occasion, Jesus appeared to dad
17:48Hagin and he made this statement, if you learn to
17:52follow my spirit, I'll make you rich. Then he went on to say
17:57this, I'm not opposed to my people being rich. Now what's
18:01rich mean? Full supply. Full supply. Never without. More than
18:08enough. So you can be a blessing to someone else too. So Jesus
18:11said, if you learn to follow my spirit, I will make you rich.
18:16Then He said, I'm not opposed to my people being rich, I'm
18:20opposed to them being covetous. Meaning I'm opposed to money
18:23occupying the wrong place in their affections. Right? So look
18:29at this word. If following the spirit will make someone rich
18:32financially, wouldn't it make you your family rich? Wouldn't
18:36it make your relationships rich? Wouldn't it make your
18:39children's, future rich? Wouldn't it make your health
18:43rich? Certainly. Meaning this, when the Holy Spirit is
18:47followed, he enriches everything. Every arena is
18:52enriched. Amen. You know, you can work by the sweat of your
18:57brow, the labor of your hands, and get a certain amount of
19:00increase, but it will subtract from other arenas. Many times
19:05people have enriched themselves financially, but they had to rob
19:09from their spiritual life, they had to rob from serving in their
19:12local church. They had to rob from time with their family.
19:16They had to rob from proper rest. And so they had to rob
19:22from some arena to increase themselves. But when God
19:26increases you, every arena is enriched, every arena is
19:30elevated. God does not have to steal from one arena to supply
19:34another. Amen. But notice what Jesus said in this situation. He
19:40said, if you learn to follow my spirit, ah, it's conditional.
19:43What's the condition? We have to learn to follow the Holy Spirit.
19:49Our blessing is connected to how well we know the Holy Spirit and
19:55how well we follow the leading of the Spirit. I love what one
20:01pastor said. God planned it. Jesus purchased it, and the Holy
20:08Spirit leads us into it. God planned our victory. God planned
20:13our inheritance. Jesus purchased our victory, purchased our
20:18inheritance, but it's the Holy Spirit who leads us into the
20:21enjoyment and the fulfillment of that in our everyday life. They
20:26each have their part. It's not enough to know God provided it.
20:30We have to know how to be a partaker of it, and the Holy
20:33Spirit will lead us into the fullness of what's been provided
20:37for us. Amen. Praise the Lord. Without the help of the Spirit,
20:44we won't, we will not experience the kind of, victory that's
20:50already been purchased. Even though it's purchased. Amen. The
20:57emphasis of the New Testament believer is this, life in the
21:04Spirit. What I, I want to quote to you just real quickly, and
21:11we'll not take time to read the passages, but I'll quote them to
21:13you. Ephesians five, verse 18 says, Be filled with the Spirit.
21:18Now he's talking to the new, new, the New Testament believer.
21:21Be filled with the Spirit. So meaning this, there are
21:26measures, that are available. We can be less than full or we can
21:32be filled. First Corinthians 14 and verse 15 says, pray with the
21:40Spirit. I will pray with the Spirit, I will pray with the
21:44understanding. So there again, that is a description of the New
21:47Testament believer. Then, we're told sing with the Spirit. Amen.
21:55Galatians five, verse 16, verse 25. These say, walk in the
22:03Spirit. When it says, walk in the Spirit, what's it mean? It
22:06means your manner of daily life. It's the way we walk out our
22:12lives every day, walk in the Spirit. Since God, the Holy
22:16Ghost dwells in us, it gives us the advantage in every way as
22:21long as we're walking in the Spirit. Now, what's it mean to
22:26walk in the Spirit? It does not mean to have a spooky tone. The
22:34Lord loves you. I'm not mocking, and I'm saying that's that
22:38doesn't equal spirituality. The way something is said. Now,
22:43don't misunderstand me. Sometimes when you pray and the
22:45spirit comes on you, you may say things in a very unique way. But
22:49I'm saying it's nothing we have to put on and try to sound, to
22:55portray ourselves as being deep. I've gotten the privilege of
23:02being around some of God's generals in my years of, of
23:05ministry, and the one thing I so appreciate in them is they were
23:09so normal. They were, they lived supernatural lives normally. And
23:17I, I don't know how a be a different way to say that, but
23:21they weren't odd. They weren't, they didn't go around speaking
23:26in scripture in verse, yet the word governed how they spoke.
23:29They just, they carried on conversations just normally, but
23:34their standard was the word. So when the word tells us to walk
23:39in the spirit, be filled with the spirit, what does it mean to
23:42walk in the spirit? It means walk being dominated by the
23:48Spirit man. Therefore, you're dominated by the spirit within
23:52your spirit. The Holy Spirit is in your spirit. You're letting
23:57that feature of your life take the lead. We are a spirit being.
24:03We have a soul which is made up of our mind, will and emotions.
24:09And we live in a body. But we're not to be body dominated. We're
24:14not to be soul dominated. We're to be spirit dominated. That
24:19means we let our spirit take the lead. Why? Because our spirit is
24:23the temple of the Holy Ghost. Therefore, he has given the lead
24:26in our lives. Through us following our spirits. Amen. So,
24:32we have to practice that. We have to practice, the
24:38spirit of man. We follow what is our spirit leading us to do.
24:43What is our spirit, prompting us to do. Be mindful that
24:50there's more than your mind to draw on. Be aware there's more
24:56than your intellect to draw on. You have a divine genius in
25:00you to turn to and to draw on. And it will benefit you to do
25:05that. It will give you the advantage in life. When
25:12you were born again, the Holy, holy Spirit imparted
25:15to your spirit, all nine fruits of the spirit, love, joy,
25:22peace, temperance, meekness, all these things. They
25:25are not just feelings. They're forces. They are absolutely so
25:30powerful in their flow. They're in you. When you're walking in
25:36the spirit, those fruits of the spirit are, if I could say this,
25:40dominating you. You're leaning to the love, you're leaning to
25:44the peace. You're leaning to the joy that's on the inside of you.
25:47You're letting them have their flow in your life. That's
25:51walking in the spirit too. That all of that is. Amen. Life in
25:57the spirit doesn't just mean you're praying in tongues all
25:59the time. Listen, pray in tongues as much as you can.
26:02Absolutely. Take advantage of that. But it doesn't. If people
26:06pray in tongues, but they refuse to walk in the fruit of love,
26:09they're not walking in the spirit. They might pray a lot in
26:14the spirit. They might sing a lot in the spirit. But if we're
26:16not, if we're not, being governed by joy and peace in our
26:20life, we're missing the walk of the spirit. Amen. It's all of
26:24these things. Amen. Praise the Lord. Well, we've been teaching
