0:00Goku's fist stops 1 [music] inch from
0:01Vegeta's face and his hand is shaking,
0:03not from effort but from the war
0:05happening inside him because part of him
0:06wants to erase Vegeta [music] for
0:07challenging him and part of him is
0:08screaming to stop, to remember who he
0:10used to be. And the fact that both parts
0:11[music] feel equally valid terrifies him
0:13more than any enemy ever has. Vegeta
0:14does not move, he stares into Goku's
0:16eyes and [music] speaks with a clarity
0:17that cuts through every defense. Hit me,
0:19erase me, do whatever you need to do,
0:20but look at me when you do it and tell
0:22me [music] this is who you want to be.
0:23Goku's breath catches and his fist drops
0:25and the sound that comes out of him is
0:26not a word. He stumbles backward as the
0:28weight of what he almost became crashes
0:29into him all at once. Vegeta catches him
0:31before [music] he falls and for the
0:32first time in their lives Goku does not
0:34pull away. He just collapses against
0:35Vegeta's shoulder and the prince [music]
0:36of Saiyans holds him there, silent,
0:38because there are no words for this.
0:39Whis watches from a distance, tears
0:41[music] streaming down his face, and he
0:42whispers a thank you to Vegeta that the
0:44Saiyan will never hear. But the moment
0:45shatters when Chi-Chi's voice screams
0:47from inside the house and both Saiyans
0:48spin around to see her body glowing with
0:50the [music] same energy Goku had, her
0:51eyes wide with panic as she realizes
0:53something is happening to her that she
0:54cannot control. Gohan rushes to her side
0:56but the energy repels him, throwing him
0:57backward, and Chi-Chi looks at her
0:59hands.
