0:02Just live, bro.

0:05Stop trying to control everything and

0:07just let go.

0:09The philosopher Diogenes, if you guys

0:11are unfamiliar, he's known as the barrel

0:13philosopher because he lived in a barrel

0:15and he wore nothing.

0:17He believed that the more things that

0:18you owned, the less free that you were.

0:21The same philosophy is true of Tyler

0:23Durden in Fight Club.

0:25And although these are seen to be

0:28extreme, there is much truth to them.

0:30Buddha said that detachment is the root

0:33is or attachment is the root of all

0:35suffering.

0:36And

0:38on a long enough timeline with different

0:40experience, you'll realize that this is

0:41true.

0:44When you

0:45have desires, when you have vices, when

0:48you have all these different things in

0:49your life that you want, material

0:53objects, you realize that you're not

0:56truly a free man.

0:59As Tyler Durden said, the things you own

1:01end up owning you.

1:03You have to learn to just let go. Just

1:06live, okay?

1:09When you try to create

1:12a very specific reality in any

1:14situation,

1:16you take away from what it means to

1:18simply exist. And

1:22the people

1:24that um can appreciate the moment for

1:27what it is and not try to manipulate it

1:29or or have desires,

1:32those are the ones that

1:34are at the most peace. You'll realize

1:36that in life.

1:38It's very hard.

1:39It's easy to say, but it's hard to do.

1:41And this is something that I've been

1:43struggling with a lot as well because

1:45I've been working a lot lately and you

1:47know, it's like I'm trying to

1:49do better in my life, but

1:52it's true, you know, you have to

1:55recognize that

1:58a lot of times what is causing you so

2:00much suffering is the fact that you're

2:03trying to optimize and ironically enough

2:07the desire for optimization is in and of

2:09itself de-optimizing.

2:14Life is not meant to be a performance.

2:16So, you need to stop treating everything

2:18like it's an audition. You remember that

2:20famous clip

2:22from Kanye where he had an interview and

2:24he said, "When did you have the most

2:25anxiety in school? On test day, right?

2:29So, if everything you do, every answer

2:32that you're giving people, every action

2:34that you do is like trying to answer a

2:36question on a test and do the right

2:37thing, then you're going to have anxiety

2:39for your whole life."

2:42So true. You don't need approval to

2:44exist.

2:46So, Eckhart Tolle

2:49he wrote a book where he essentially

2:51said that the ego's greatest addiction

2:55is admiration. So, you'll see people are

2:58constantly seeking validation,

3:00admiration. That's why they post all

3:02their achievements online and that's why

3:04a lot of times people's social media

3:05feed is only when they've done something

3:07good. But,

3:08that's

3:10not reality and you need to sort of let

3:12go of these things and simply exist.

3:16Most pressure

3:18is imaginary. It's created by comparison

3:21that happens when you scroll.

3:23And

3:25the long-term effects of this is

3:27is no

3:29it's no joke. Like,

3:31the psychological

3:34torment that you can put your brain

3:35through and I feel like that's not even

3:37being exaggerative. Like, that truly is

3:40how it is. Like,

3:42you have to

3:45just

3:46accept your reality of where you're at.

3:48You can have and and like work towards

3:50things that you want, but don't like

3:52beat yourself up when you're not there.

3:54So, like right now in my life, um I'm

3:57currently in the process of like I'm

3:58trying to turn my social medias into

4:01some sort of monetization.

4:03Um my main focus has always been to to

4:07inspire people to bring value and all

4:08that stuff and I and I've done that and

4:09I will continue to do that always, but

4:12it's to the point where like maybe I can

4:13make a little bit of money off of it.

4:15And

4:16I've gotten in contact with some

4:17high-profile people who I'm not going to

4:19name, but if I did name them here, like

4:20you guys would know who they are.

4:22They're like other social media

4:23influencers. And every day when I have

4:26these meetings, people are like you're

4:27an idiot because all you because you're

4:29like missing out on all this money cuz

4:31you haven't created anything where, you

4:33know, you could make money and I'm like

4:35like truly in my heart of hearts, man, I

4:37just want to I just want to live and I

4:38just want to do something that I love

4:40and not have to worry about any of that

4:41stuff. Like I'm really not like you guys

4:43see my living situation, right? Like

4:46I literally I mean, you guys can't see

4:48it, but there's like a yoga mat. It's

4:50like behind this right here. That's

4:51where I be sleeping.

4:53And I I'm really just like interested in

4:56the art that I'm creating, like what I'm

4:58doing and helping others and it I'm not

4:59so attached to all these external things

5:01and so

5:02these people are like telling me they're

5:04like you're crazy. Why aren't you um

5:07monetizing? And I'm like cuz the second

5:10that you start to turn everything into a

5:12performance and you try to, you know,

5:15you seek something out of every

5:17situation, it's like the law of

5:19attraction and you don't get that thing

5:21or like it you know, it hurts it just

5:23like hurts

5:24your overall well-being.

5:26And it's a dangerous game to play this

5:28in any sector of life, whatever you're

5:30doing. It's like when you really just

5:31are doing things because you're like,

5:34oh, I just want this outcome. Like it

5:35just destroys you. Like I've been

5:36working so hard um trying to like grow

5:39my following and I don't regret any of

5:41it, but what I will say is like, you

5:43know, like there are days where it's

5:44like, dude, I just want to like read a

5:45book cuz, you know, I really like

5:47reading and like can a brother just read

5:49a book? But I can't cuz it's like oh, I

5:51got I got these like obligations that

5:53I've made in my own head, you know?

5:55And I'm sure you as the viewer have your

5:58own version of that, whether it's like

6:00you want to chill, but you know you

6:01could pick up a shift at work and you

6:03got bills to pay, so you're doing that

6:04or like

6:06or like maybe you you want to like skip

6:07the gym and prioritize your your mental

6:09health or whatever or school, but you

6:12can't really do that because you just

6:13you got to just keep locking in, but

6:15eventually these things compound and

6:17then you're going to look back on your

6:18life you're like, "Oh, the last 20 years

6:20I spent doing this and holding this

6:23mindset mentality and it hasn't really

6:25got me any farther cuz I still feel

6:27unfulfilled."

6:31Waiting for perfect is wasting real

6:35time. There's never going going to be

6:37some sort of flawless moment, a perfect

6:40mindset, or maybe like an ideal setup.

6:43These things aren't going to going to

6:44exist. Um

6:47you know, action will create clarity.

6:49So, when I say like just live, I'm not

6:51saying like just be a bum and don't do

6:52anything. You should still take action,

6:54but take action without like

6:57thinking to yourself, "Oh, the situation

6:59needs to be perfect. Oh, I need to be in

7:01X, Y, or Z position in order to start."

7:03You don't need to do that.

7:06And understand this as well, you don't

7:08need to become someone.

7:09You already are. So, life is uh

7:15a lifelong project.

7:18Right? Life is just a culmination of you

7:21evolving over time and there is no like

7:23set version or optimized version of

7:25yourself. It's just it's like an

7:27ever-changing thing. And so,

7:30growth matters, but obsessing over this

7:33idea of like fixing yourself,

7:36it can become in a way another form of

7:39procrastination.

7:41Like you need to live while you're

7:43evolving. That's the only way you can

7:45appreciate and enjoy.

7:49So, you know, go and then just hang out

7:52with the people that you love and spend

7:54some time doing things that you love

7:56because, you know, you have a finite

7:58amount of time. So,

8:00you don't need to be somebody. Like,

8:02just be you cuz you already are

8:04somebody, right?

8:07Most anxiety that people experience

8:09comes from living in the future. So,

8:12worrying

8:14it's essentially just borrowing problems

8:17that don't exist yet.

8:19There's a a quote in the Bible that I

8:21love that says, "For what does a man

8:23gain

8:24by worrying about tomorrow? Does

8:26tomorrow not worry about itself?"

8:29Gosh, it's such a good line. It's like,

8:30"So,

8:31if I'm anxious now, but I'm going to be

8:34anxious in 10 minutes, what is the point

8:35of being anxious now, you know?"

8:39And I know, once again, this is easier

8:41said than done, but when you start to

8:43conceptualize these things and actively

8:45practice getting better at them, your

8:46subconscious will start to

8:48um

8:50adapt. It will start to pick up on these

8:53things and over time you're going to see

8:54small small growth, small change. So,

8:57there's a book it's called War and Peace

8:58by Leo Tolstoy, Russian classic. And the

9:02entire idea of it like people read this

9:04book and they're like, "Oh, it's about

9:06like when Napoleon was invading

9:08and, you know, it's about like these

9:10multiple relationships and all this

9:12stuff that's going on." And people think

9:14it's like a drama piece and all this

9:15stuff. But, the entire idea of this book

9:18truly was that change is something

9:20that's very like incremental and it

9:22doesn't really happen from one major

9:24person like a king or a queen or a

9:26president. It's it's a mindset that

9:30shifts over time which leads to action

9:34and it compounds. And although this book

9:37is more referencing this idea in terms

9:39of like socioeconomic and politics for

9:43on the global scale

9:44the the same idea I believe can be

9:46applied in your personal life where it's

9:48like things who you are is just it just

9:51compounds over time and you know it

9:53starts to grow slowly but surely but it

9:56grows you know.

9:58You start to get to where you want to be

10:00and then when you're there you want the

10:02next thing and so you just got to

10:05realize be present in where you're at um

10:07but still

10:09seek for growth you know.

10:11These things are not um

10:14mutually exclusive so you can you can do

10:16both. You can appreciate where you're at

10:17and still want growth.

10:19Simply living beats optimization.

10:23So

10:25when all you're doing is trying to get

10:29better every and every day you'll look

10:30back and realize well my desire to get

10:33better every day

10:35eliminated the experience of limit

10:38living every day.

10:40So you don't need to be you don't need

10:42to have this like perfect routine. You

10:43don't need to have everything outlined

10:45like what you're going to do. You need

10:47to have a perfect diet a perfect

10:48mindset.

10:50Instead just wake up

10:52do something meaningful rest and then

10:54repeat.

10:55That's literally it. Just if you if you

10:57fill your day with fruitful things that

10:59you truly desire

11:01that's what you'll win. So the

11:03the um ancient Romans believed that

11:07um in what was called optium and optium

11:10is essentially the idea of leisure time

11:11but not in a way that you just

11:15are a bum and lazy but it's more like

11:17doing things that are fruitful to the

11:19soul. One of those being philosophy

11:20right? And so the idea is that you're

11:23doing something meaningful with your

11:24time and that was how people measured

11:27wealth was actually how much leisure

11:29time you would have. Isn't that that's

11:31insane to think about because in our

11:32world today it's so hustle culture, but

11:35back then the the less you did, the

11:37wealthier you were. Slaves are the ones

11:40that worked all day and the wealthy

11:41people would converse with their

11:43community, participate in philosophy,

11:45mathematics, like various things because

11:47that that was what was fruitful to their

11:49soul. Like that's what they truly

11:50enjoyed doing.

11:54Just live to me

11:57means feel everything. Stop letting

11:59yourself

12:01be bored.

12:02Let yourself be excited, you know? Let

12:05yourself fail, let yourself succeed.

12:08You need to stop numbing every emotion

12:11with distractions, right? Being alive

12:14means experiencing it all.

12:17The good, the bad, the ugly, right?

12:21And once you accept this, it's like amor

12:23fati, right? Accept your fate. Once you

12:25accept this, that's when you'll embrace

12:27life and you'll truly begin to live.

12:30Nobody's keeping score, by the way.

12:31You're not behind. Like there's the

12:34So I have a theory and I'm trying to

12:36find a name for it, but it's this idea

12:38that people say that society is like

12:42will say or believe a certain thing,

12:44but it's really not true. It's just that

12:46people all say collectively say that

12:49true so so then we think that there's an

12:50application to what is said, but that is

12:53not true. For I'm going to give you guys

12:55an easy example of this. You know how

12:57like

12:58girls in school will be like, "Oh, if I

13:01wear something like semi-provocative,

13:03they'll be like they'll tell me like

13:05cover up." That does not happen, bro.

13:07That does not happen. That is a

13:09narrative that I've heard like since I

13:10was a kid. I've never witnessed that

13:12ever happen in my entire

13:14um saying someone who's a currently a

13:17senior in college, I've never seen that

13:18happen. I've actually seen like quite

13:21literally the opposite where they get um

13:24they get glorified for doing like

13:27promiscuity in our culture is glorified.

13:30Especially as it relates to women

13:31because it's being seen as like it as

13:34part of this like feminist movement. So,

13:36that's just like an example. By the way,

13:37I'm not even like

13:39I'm not even trying to like get into

13:40politics. It's just like a reality. Or

13:42like you know, people will say um

13:45>> [sighs]

13:46>> What what's another good example?

13:49You know, they'll be like, "Well, you

13:51got to be at like you got to be married

13:53by the age of like 30 and like starting

13:56to have kids, right?" Like bro, no one

13:58actually says that anymore. Like I I

14:00don't know who like that standard I

14:02don't know anyone that's like mean held

14:04to that standard at this point. Like

14:05it's just It's one of those like things

14:07that like people assume is like real and

14:09actually happening because everyone's um

14:11claiming it is, but there's no

14:12application to it. And so, the reason

14:14that I say this is because no like

14:16you'll hear people saying like you got

14:17to hit XYZ part by um

14:20goal or or area in your life. Like you

14:23got to have a full-time job that has

14:26benefits and a 401k and all this stuff

14:27by the time that you're like 23, 24. But

14:31like no one's actually keeping score.

14:32Everyone in life is far more focused on

14:34themselves than everyone else. And so,

14:36you're not behind. There there really is

14:38no universal timeline.

14:41Most people they're winging it and

14:43they're winging it quietly. And when I

14:44say most people, pretty much everybody's

14:45just winging it.

14:47I was on a phone call with

14:49um yesterday for an hour with a certain

14:52influencer who has I think he has 19

14:55million followers on Instagram. Huge guy

14:58like like a year ago he had this like

15:00insanely viral trend that just like

15:03Anyways, and he was telling me he was

15:05like, "Bro, whole time I was just

15:06winging it."

15:08He's like, "I really like didn't know

15:09what I was going to do." And he's like,

15:10"That's that's like how you have to

15:11approach life is you just like kind of

15:13like

15:14whatever you think makes sense, you do

15:15it and you just don't look back and

15:17you'll fail, but then you just grow from

15:18it, you know? And that's what it is."

15:20So, understand truly nobody's keeping

15:22score. At some point, you just you just

15:25got to choose to participate. So, stop

15:27spectating your own life. Stop Stop

15:30saying no. Start saying yes to to more

15:32things. Go outside.

15:34Start Start that business that you want.

15:35Ask that girl out. Do whatever you want.

15:37Call that person, you know? Just just

15:39take the risk.

15:41At the end of the day,

15:42just live, bro.

15:45Just try. Just take action. Don't take

15:47everything too seriously. You have a

15:49finite amount of time on this wor-

15:51earth. You won the cosmic lottery to be

15:53a be alive. The chances you're even born

15:55are 1 in 43 trillion, and you only get

15:57about 80 years if you're lucky.

16:01God bless you guys. Thank you for

16:02watching.
