0:00this is lesson 13 of Maharaj and sufed
0:05series
0:06in this lesson we'll tackle three
0:08letters
0:14and for these three sounds we'll be
0:17using the tip of the tongue
0:19if you're particularly curious about law
0:22one of the more problematic sounds it is
0:25important to watch the entire lesson to
0:27understand how we'll use the other two
0:30sounds to reach a point where law is
0:33extremely easy to produce insha Allah so
0:36take it step by step
0:39now let's get started with Fe
0:43is actually not a difficult sound but it
0:47is surely a sound that needs getting
0:48used to especially if your mother tongue
0:51is not English or Greek so how is it
0:55pronounced
0:56well Fe is pronounced when the tip of
1:00the tongue touches the tip of the Upper
1:03Front Teeth
1:04when this happens air will flow from
1:08both sides of the tongue producing the
1:11proper Tha sound
1:13so again the tip of the tongue is
1:16touching the tip of the Upper Front
1:18Teeth this is a very important step it
1:23is very important that you feel the edge
1:26of the upper teeth on the tip of your
1:29tongue
1:30it should look like this
1:32the tongue is not protruding out and it
1:35is not behind the upper teeth either
1:38in other words tip touching the tip
1:41getting this movement right is very
1:44crucial and basic to go through this
1:47entire lesson so make sure you're
1:49getting this right
1:51Fair
1:52as
1:57s
1:59SE mood
2:04wife
2:07methyl
2:09if you can Master this sound then the
2:12other two sounds should not be a problem
2:14at all insha Allah
2:17so moving on to the next one then
2:21and then is a carbon copy of tha sound
2:26but there is just one little difference
2:29yes you might have guessed it
2:32there is the voiced version of that
2:37so that is voiceless meaning we do not
2:40vibrate the vocal cords when pronouncing
2:42it but Del is a voiced sound so the
2:47humming of the vibration of the vocal
2:49cords will be added to the sound
2:52so to produce Val the tip of the tongue
2:55is touching the tip of the Upper Front
2:57Teeth and the vocal cords are vibrating
3:01there
3:03as
3:08as
3:21so the tip of the tongue is touching the
3:24tip of the Upper Front Teeth with the
3:26vocal cords vibrating
3:29next is law
3:32and if you learned these sounds in order
3:34La should not be a problem whatsoever
3:37because you're going to add one little
3:40detail to Vel which is the fact that law
3:44is the full mouth version of then
3:48in other words to pronounce law you will
3:52pronounce
3:54full mouth which means you will raise
3:57the back of the tongue to create that
4:00full heavy sound
4:02so to recap on how to pronounce VA
4:06properly
4:07one tip of the tongue is touching the
4:10tip of the Upper Front Teeth and two the
4:13vocal cords are vibrating and three the
4:17back of the tongue is raised producing
4:20that heavy sound
4:22oh
4:30volume
4:36we
4:38will
4:40reformer
4:46so to pronounce law you need to learn
4:49how to pronounce
4:51and to pronounce Vel you need to learn
4:54how to pronounce Fair
4:58and here are the differences between
5:00these three sounds
5:04f
5:08oh
5:11finally the common mistakes involving
5:14these three sounds
5:17the first Common mistake is the wrong
5:20placement of the tongue
5:22if the tongue is protruding too much as
5:25we indicated before it might produce the
5:28letter but it will weaken its sound and
5:31it disturbs the pronunciation of other
5:33Letters by putting the tongue farther
5:36away than it should making its
5:38transition to other places to produce
5:41other sounds more difficult
5:43and if it is behind the teeth then the
5:47sound will not be produced at all and it
5:49will produce a different sound
5:52however when it is put in the right
5:54place the tip against the tip
5:57the sound will be produced properly and
6:00the transition will go smoothly an easy
6:03trick that you can apply to make sure
6:05that you're doing it right is by looking
6:07into a mirror to see if your placement
6:10is proper
6:13the second mistake is pronouncing Vel as
6:18Del
6:20so for example saying
6:25with D sound
6:28these two sounds are completely
6:30different and some Learners make the
6:32mistake of pronouncing it as Zay so
6:36instead of saying Vic they would say
6:38zikr
6:40and both of these are clear mistakes
6:43that must not be made when reciting the
6:47Quran
6:48the final mistake is
6:50when producing Fair some Learners
6:53mispronounce it as seen so instead of
6:56saying the mood they would say
7:01and others make the mistake of
7:03pronouncing
7:07so instead of saying mythil they would
7:10say
7:11and these two are clear mistakes that
7:15should be avoided at all times when
7:17reciting the Quran
7:19so these were the last letters involving
7:21the tongue and next lesson will be the
7:24last lesson of our journey of Maharaj in
7:28sha Allah
