0:00Shenron suddenly refuses to grant Goku's
0:01wish, and for the first time in history,
0:03he tells him, "Ask Vegeta instead." It
0:05begins after a fierce battle leaves
0:07dozens of innocent people dead. [music]
0:08As everyone gathers the Dragon Balls,
0:10Goku smiles, summons Shenron, and makes
0:12the familiar request, "Please bring
0:13everyone back to life." But instead
0:15[music] of granting the wish, Shenron
0:16lowers his head and says, "I cannot. Ask
0:18Vegeta." Silence. Vegeta immediately
0:20gets angry, insisting he has no power to
0:22revive anyone. Even Piccolo is confused
0:24because Shenron has never rejected a
0:25wish like this. Goku asks again, but
0:27Shenron repeats the exact same words,
0:28[music] "Ask Vegeta." Frustrated, Vegeta
0:30steps forward and demands an
0:31explanation. Shenron calmly replies, "I
0:33am forbidden." Before anyone can ask by
0:35whom, Elder Kai suddenly remembers
0:37[music] an ancient rule about the Dragon
0:38Balls that almost no one knows. They
0:40cannot restore a life if the person who
0:42caused the death truly [music] believes
0:43the victims deserved it. Everyone slowly
0:45turns toward Vegeta. During the battle,
0:47Vegeta had destroyed the enemy's entire
0:48[music] fortress without realizing
0:49innocent prisoners were still inside.
0:51Vegeta stands frozen. For the first time
0:53since the Buu Saga, he quietly admits,
0:55[music] "That was my fault." The moment
0:56those words leave his mouth, every
0:58Dragon Ball begins glowing on its own.
