0:00so if in fact a patient does have some
0:03sort of infection uh there are several
0:05ways that a provider may choose to
0:08diagnose uh the provider will examine
0:11the patient uh specimens will be
0:13obtained
0:15and these specimens can be in the form
0:17of blood urine sputum through a wound
0:21culture or throat culture
0:24remember because we're looking for
0:26microorganisms these specimens are going
0:29to be obtained and sent to the lab
0:31examined underneath the microscope and
0:33through the characteristics of whatever
0:35it is that they're viewing through the
0:37microscope the provider will be able to
0:39come up with a diagnosis
0:42uh what you see in the picture there
0:44that's a wound culture that's happening
0:46there this is an open wound in the foot
0:48and the provider is taking the uh little
0:52uh Q-tip there and going into uh
0:56whatever it is that's infected and
0:58removing a specimen that specimen is
1:01going to be sent to the lab same thing
1:04with the blood and what you see here is
1:06a petri dish and it looks like there are
1:08a few things growing there to be
1:10diagnosed and we also have the ability
1:13to evaluate urine
1:16and diagnose bacteria or microorganisms
1:19through that way as well
