0:005 minutes before our first male
0:02addiction tournament and I thought I was
0:04going to have to play in it. No
0:07preparation,
0:09no, hey, get ready, just diving right
0:11in. That's the real struggle.
0:49past the spheres beyond the known into
0:53the malediction. ction. This is beyond
0:58the conclave.
1:19Hello and welcome back to Beyond the
1:21Conclave,
1:22the male addiction podcast that you
1:25should be listening to every single
1:27week. I'm your host, Toxic Mike. I am a
1:31true herald for me addiction, which
1:33means I have the honor of going out
1:35there and introducing this game to so
1:37many people on a weekly, daily, monthly
1:40basis, and I love it. So, if you haven't
1:43checked it out, if this is your first
1:44time uh tuning in here, you should check
1:47out uh Maladdiction, the board game, the
1:50tabletop game, the miniatures game, the
1:52card game. It's so many things in one,
1:54but you should be checking it out. This
1:56past Saturday, I got an unbelievable
1:59experience by holding and hosting my
2:03first tournament for male addiction.
2:07Today, I want to discuss that. I want to
2:09talk about what happened, what worked,
2:12what we learned, and if I'll ever do it
2:15again. That's what this episode is going
2:19to contain. And there's so many
2:21different avenues to go down, so many
2:24things to talk about um from behind the
2:28scenes, but also during the tournament.
2:31All right, we got to hold it at Top Deck
2:33in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which is a
2:35phenomenal place to go. If you're in the
2:38area, and I'm talking about even if
2:40you're 40 minutes, an hour away from the
2:43Cherry Hill area, people come from all
2:45over to this store. It is a sight to be
2:48seen not only with their collection of
2:50games but also their play area. It is
2:54phenomenal and it was the best place and
2:56the only place
2:58to hold a meal addiction tournament like
3:01this. So super happy that we were able
3:04to do that. Um getting into it though,
3:08we have to start. You have to go from
3:11like that day like waking up on Saturday
3:14morning cuz it's kind of like, you know,
3:17you're experiencing something for the
3:18first time. Um it's it kind of gets your
3:21your butterflies going. You know, you're
3:23a little antsy. You're making sure that
3:24you have everything and anything that
3:26you need
3:28for this moment, for this event, because
3:32hey, at the end of the day, Deviant Dice
3:34Roller's name is on it, my name is on
3:36it, Johnny's name is on it. We have to
3:38make sure that we do our best to ensure
3:40that everybody that comes out to play
3:42this and experience it and be involved
3:45gets the experience they were supposed
3:47to have, what they thought they were
3:48going to have. So, we had to make sure
3:50that everything was as good, knowing
3:53damn well damn well without any not
3:57trying to tr trying to like falsely
4:01think that this was going to go the
4:03absolute best it could possibly go. It's
4:05our first time doing this. You know that
4:08there's going to be hiccups. You know
4:09that there's going to be uh crossroads
4:11where you're like, "Okay, what do we do
4:13here?" You got to go into it with that
4:15mindset. You can't think that
4:16everything's going to be perfect, but a
4:19very very uh awesome teacher in
4:23broadcasting school taught me piss poor
4:26planning.
4:27Uh piss poor planning pro Jesus Christ.
4:32It was the top fives. Somebody put in
4:34the comment. But fish man, exactly. Fish
4:37man from Connecticut School of
4:38Broadcasting taught me that if you if
4:41you have piss poor planning, you are
4:44ready to fail.
4:46All right, I know there's a whole saying
4:47there. Remind me later on, but that was
4:51the gist of it. If you plan properly, if
4:54you continue to make sure that you have
4:56all your ducks in a row, you have a
4:58better chance of succeeding the best you
5:01possibly can. Don't just show up to
5:04something, a podcast, your job, a
5:08tournament. Don't just show up somewhere
5:10expecting everything to click because
5:12you were a lazy piece of That's
5:15basically it. So, me and Johnny had
5:19discussed it and we agreed we were going
5:20to show up to the store at 10:00 a.m.
5:23when they open up. We wanted to have no
5:26room for error in terms of our setup
5:28because we knew that the tournament
5:29started at 12:00. First tournament in a
5:33store. They're opening their their gates
5:35to us. They're allowing us to go in
5:36there. They're going to be running it in
5:38terms of uh the pairings, the timing,
5:41and all that kind of stuff. So, we just
5:43have to be there to facilitate.
5:46All right. We walk in there, we're
5:48expecting anywhere from six to 10
5:51players.
5:53We're not sure because, you know, people
5:55sign up on long shanks, but you have
5:57walk-ins. So, that's where we were kind
5:59of uh looking at it. We we go there and
6:02we start setting up
6:05and you've got a blank slate. You
6:06basically get free range of the place
6:10and they're going to say, "Hey, here are
6:12your tables. Go for it."
6:15That's up to you to figure it out. How
6:18are we how are we uh uh putting these
6:20tables together? Where's everything go?
6:23Where's our demo table? Cuz we decided
6:25we were going to do a demo table because
6:27hey, you're going to have a lot of eyes
6:29in the store looking at this event
6:32because you've got a trophy and you've
6:33got all these prizes. What is this? What
6:35are they doing? how could we get
6:36involved? Uh, so we had to figure that
6:40all out
6:42within the time restraint of 2 hours.
6:45Um, what was really cool something, let
6:47me bring it up here and uh, Johnny had
6:50talked about this,
6:52but uh, it it doesn't really feel real
6:55until you see it. But what I'm holding
6:58up right here is the first Agnar, which
7:01is what we deemed this tournament. And
7:03we're going to have many more. So,
7:04you're going to see the first, the
7:06second, the third, the fourth. But him
7:08and his amazing wife did a great job of
7:12taking that uh logo and making it into
7:15like this little backpack tote bag thing
7:17that we gave out to everybody, just
7:19adding to the event uh atmosphere
7:23because me, Johnny, and everybody had
7:26decided we didn't want to just make
7:27this, hey, come and play and win a
7:29trophy. We wanted to set the stage that
7:33when Deviant Dice Rollers is involved,
7:36it's going to be an event. It's going to
7:39be a spectacle. Hey, I grew up on WWE. I
7:43grew up on WCW. I grew up on ECW.
7:46The whole idea is if you're going to
7:48have an event,
7:50make it a spectacle. If I could have had
7:53a Grock costume, freaking If I could
7:56have had a Grock mascot costume, you
8:00would have seen me in that thing in Top
8:03Deck running up and down the aisles. All
8:05right, that's how much I would have made
8:08it a spectacle. I would have sat there
8:10in the back of the room. Let me show you
8:12the back of I would have sat in the back
8:14of the room doing a t-shirt cannon to
8:16everybody playing the game, which might
8:19not have been good to help them
8:21concentrate on winning, but it'd be
8:23memorable. It would be something to
8:26write home about. It would be something
8:28to be like, "Hey, I know you just played
8:29a tournament for this other game, but
8:31did you guys have a t-shirt cannon? Bet
8:34that you didn't."
8:36But that's the type of environment I'm
8:39trying to put together. Um, huge shout
8:42out to our buddies at Admiral Tater. If
8:45you do not know who Admiral Tater is,
8:48let me pull this up because they hooked
8:50it up with a lot of the prizes that were
8:54available to the players and they are
8:57officially licensed Mel addiction uh
9:01accessories
9:02uh to make this the products and they
9:05they have really really great trackers
9:08and rulers. The rulers are amazing.
9:11Their uh acrylic, and I don't get no
9:13money for this, by the way. This isn't
9:15like a an official advertisement. I just
9:18really like their products. Their
9:20acrylic damage tokens,
9:22uh their their uh round counters, even
9:26their initiative tokens are insanely
9:28high quality. And when I bought I bought
9:31a few of these before, obviously I
9:32wanted to test it out. I bought a few
9:34before bringing them to the tournament.
9:36And lo and behold, I found out that
9:38these trackers are all magnetic, which
9:41makes it super easy to travel with them
9:44by just putting them in my uh minis
9:46case.
9:48So, we had that. We had so much going on
9:51uh that I was super stoked by the time
9:53we got done setting up and I looked at
9:56everything and took a step back because
9:59we we did have some time
10:01before the event started to be like,
10:04"Okay, how does everything look?
10:06I was extremely proud and and I was able
10:09to soak that in before the event
10:10started. We were able to get it done
10:12within an hour. We had the table with
10:15the alt art cards and the the Admiral
10:18Tater. We had the Gro cards there which
10:21um I was very happy to have those. Those
10:23were a lot of fun just as an extra added
10:25bonus. And the trophy which was the main
10:28prize. Now, uh, our friends at Top Deck
10:32obviously did put together a nice, uh,
10:36prize package in terms of whoever won
10:38and came in second got really good store
10:40credit. And we also had best painted,
10:44which is really cool, too. Uh, here's a
10:46nice picture. I want to showcase this of
10:50Johnny still putting stuff together as I
10:53had uh, initially got most everything
10:57set up.
10:59All right. So, we had the signage, we
11:00had Grock there, we had the uh demo uh
11:04sign going on, and we were ready to go.
11:09All right. Again, we wanted to make it
11:11sound like
11:13we wanted to make it sound and look like
11:17a an event that
11:21Loot was putting on even though Loot
11:23wasn't involved, you know, to create
11:26that atmosphere because look, Loot's the
11:30the developer. Loot's the guys that make
11:32Male Addiction. Their setups at
11:35conventions
11:36is literally the best setups I've ever
11:38seen. All right. And when they do their
11:40demos, when they do their tournaments,
11:44bar none. So, all I could do as a
11:47player, as a lover of the game, is to
11:51put forth the same type of effort they
11:53do because you don't want somebody
11:57seeing the effort put forth for a
11:58tournament like this as anything less.
12:01You want people to see that you have the
12:03same passion and same commitment as
12:07those that are making the game, as those
12:09that are making a living off of this.
12:12And that's what I tried to put forth.
12:15So, we had everything set up. We were
12:17ready to go, ready to rock and roll.
12:19Five minutes,
12:21five minutes before start time, Johnny
12:24looks at me and goes, "Mike,
12:26uh, we don't have everybody. Two people
12:30had bailed because of illnesses.
12:33Understandable. Understandable. It's a
12:35game. You You're sick. Stay home. Don't
12:37Don't get sick. But we were also short
12:40one other person, which gave us an odd
12:42number. All right. So, suddenly we're
12:45sitting there looking at an odd number
12:46going, "How are we going to do this? How
12:48is this going to work?"
12:50He looks at me and goes, "You're going
12:52to have to play."
12:58I don't have a problem with jumping into
13:00a plane,
13:02but I and talk to me, tell me if I'm
13:05wrong with this, but I would imagine and
13:06I I think for myself, anybody out there,
13:09when you're going to play in a
13:10tournament, you're in the right mindset.
13:12You're there to play. You've got your
13:14deck. You've you've already looked at
13:16the others that are playing, who what
13:18faction they're playing. You kind of are
13:21in the zone,
13:23and you're ready to go.
13:26I wasn't there. And I'm going to tell
13:29you something in in a little bit that
13:31shows that I was wrong in my way of
13:33thinking. But that's where my mindset
13:35was. Like I was like, uh uh uh. So then
13:40I'm I'm scrambling to get my my Pollenor
13:42deck out. I'm scrambling to get uh my
13:45counters out. And I'm I'm I'm literally,
13:48this is truthful, and nobody knows this.
13:50I was killing time
13:53because I didn't want to go sign up. I
13:55was there to experience running a
13:57tournament. I wasn't there to play.
14:01Granted, I want to play in a tournament.
14:03Somebody else is holding a tournament. I
14:04want to go play. And it's probably going
14:06to be a less lot less stress on me to
14:10know that I'm just playing. But I had
14:12already had the stress of getting this
14:14stuff ready and going to now pivot to a
14:17player
14:19was like, "Holy crap, simmer down." So,
14:23I literally
14:26was slowly walking to the counter to
14:29sign up to tell the guys at Top Deck
14:33that I was going to participate in this
14:36event
14:37when out of the corner of my eye, I saw
14:40somebody walking up with his maladiction
14:43minis and his terrain and I was like,
14:47"Thank goodness."
14:49Oh man, I dodged a bullet. Oh boy.
14:56Um, so happy that that happened. I
14:59walked back over to Johnny. I said, "We
15:00got our one more. We're good." He signed
15:02up. We were off to the races. We were
15:05ready to start playing. So, we
15:08officially had six players. I was hoping
15:10for eight.
15:13We got six. I was super happy with that.
15:16And I feel like it was it was a good
15:18number. It was definitely a good number
15:20to go with. Uh, but
15:24internally. Toxic Mike was like, "Woo, I
15:27don't have to do that."
15:30I also learned uh a little bit before
15:33the tournament started that two of our
15:35players
15:38had not a lot of experience playing male
15:40addiction.
15:42And when I say not a lot of experience,
15:46one of them
15:48had never played a game in his life.
15:51When I tell you this, he was doing a
15:54demo
15:5630 minutes before the tournament started
15:58to make sure that he understood the
15:59rules.
16:01I am not the guy that's going to show up
16:03to a tournament without knowing how to
16:06play. That's not going to happen. So,
16:08kudos to him for showing up without an
16:12inkling of how to play. Now, uh, his
16:15buddy Mack was there and had a deck
16:17ready for him and was showing him how to
16:19play and teaching him the ropes. And I
16:21believe that he was a 40k and Magic the
16:24Gathering player previously if I'm not
16:27mistaken, which
16:30in no doubt
16:32helps uh with learning the ropes and
16:36learning how to play. Uh
16:39but kudos to him for for going down that
16:44path for saying I'm going to do this.
16:47And uh the second one was Johnny's wife.
16:51First off, shout out to wives everywhere
16:55that will show up with their man to play
16:58a game uh in any capacity, especially on
17:03um on uh tournament day. Uh she was
17:06there ready to go. I think she had said
17:08she played like three or four times.
17:11Um, but she was there to play to support
17:14and shout out to you because that was
17:17awesome. Truly awesome. I was very happy
17:19to see that. I was also interested to
17:21see how they did in playing and they did
17:24they did damn well. Now, they didn't
17:27win. They didn't come in first or
17:28second, but they held their own, which
17:31shows you
17:33the versatility and the ability to pick
17:37up maladiction. The fact that somebody
17:40didn't know anything
17:43and 20 minutes later they're in a
17:45tournament playing holding their own and
17:50not getting so frustrated that they want
17:51to flip over the table.
17:54um I think is is huge huge uh respect to
17:59Mal addiction for creating a game where
18:03you can pick it up that quickly and be
18:06able to play with the big boys at the
18:08big boy table basically you know
18:11huge huge for them. Uh, new players
18:15shouldn't be afraid, you know, like if
18:18if you're somebody at the beginning of
18:19the show, if I said if you're new to Mel
18:21Addiction, if you're somebody out there
18:22that's new to this game that doesn't
18:24know it, it is definitely one that you
18:27shouldn't feel overwhelmed by. Um, I
18:30have before I started playing Mel
18:32Addiction, I looked at 40k. I was going
18:35to start playing Warhammer. You know why
18:38I didn't?
18:40It was overwhelming. It was it was just
18:42so much going on and the tables were
18:46just ginormous and the game time to play
18:49was hours. That's a huge undertaking.
18:54It just so happened when me and my
18:57buddies were looking into a game like
18:59that. Mel addiction came into our lives
19:02and showed us you don't need
19:04to have something that overwhelming
19:08uh of a game to get that experience. And
19:12and that that is huge. That is huge. And
19:14I I I'm thankful for male addiction to
19:17coming in when it did because I know
19:20that my wife and my family are probably
19:22thankful for it as well. So, thank you.
19:26Uh running the tournament. So, we're
19:28finally there. We're we're at the table.
19:29We're ready to go. We've got our
19:31players.
19:33Uh Top Deck has got the counter going.
19:36We're going three rounds, one hour
19:38rounds, which I thought, would that be
19:41enough? And it it actually was. One hour
19:44breaks in between with six players. It
19:47went so smoothly. Johnny did a fantastic
19:51job. He was the main judge, as he should
19:53be. Um I've talked about before how I
19:56don't know the name of every card. I
19:58don't know every instance of every
20:01combination, but Johnny is the freak of
20:05nature that we all need in a in a a
20:09gaming club, a gaming league, whatever
20:11you want to call it. Um, he's that freak
20:13of nature that we all need and
20:15appreciate above all. So, he did a
20:18fantastic job helping out with the
20:20rules, helping out with the newer
20:22players, which of course they're newer.
20:24They needed a little extra help and
20:27making sure that everybody's experience
20:30was solid was was what they were looking
20:33for.
20:34I was there to facilitate everything
20:36else. the the back of the the anything
20:40that we needed from top deck, anything
20:42we weren't sure of, anything we needed
20:43extra of uh to take somebody in the
20:46corner, give them some water, uh you
20:48know, wipe their brow off. No, I'm
20:50kidding. This wasn't a fight. This isn't
20:53punching out Mike Tyson. It's playing
20:54maladiction. Um,
20:59six players turned out to be the perfect
21:01number, though. It was perfect for us,
21:04me and Johnny, to get a feel for
21:06tournament, what we are expected to
21:09bring with us, what we need to
21:11facilitate. Um, some of the players were
21:14using our uh our personal um terrain,
21:19some players needed counters, some
21:22players needed uh the the damage tokens.
21:26So, we kind of got to feel on a smaller
21:28scale of six that if we get, you know,
21:3115 or 20 players, again, upscaling what
21:34we're going to need. Uh, the playmats, I
21:36had to buy an extra playmat, you know,
21:38figuring out what you're going to need
21:39for tournaments as they get bigger, cuz
21:42I believe that they will. Okay. But it
21:45allowed us to get a grasp on that and
21:48understand what we needed.
21:53As we continued, we started seeing and
21:56Johnny was coming up to me and kind of
21:58giving me the understanding
22:00that uh that our final round was coming
22:03up. Wait, I wanted to let me play this
22:06in the background. I got a little video
22:08as I do this. But um as we were playing,
22:12as we were going through, Johnny was
22:15saying um
22:18you know, you know, Mike, that the way
22:20that this tournament is going and we've
22:22had a great, you know, reception from
22:25the demos and people coming over, we
22:28might have lost sight of something. I
22:30was like, what are we losing sight of?
22:32Uh the fact that it looks like
22:36There's a possibility that the final
22:40showdown I just saw a baby go by. What
22:42are you doing in here, baby? The final
22:44showdown
22:47may be Sigth versus Sigthun.
22:53So,
22:56we were looking at and I want to say his
22:58name properly. Uh, Mik Muel Mikl, I'm
23:03I'm brutalizing your name. I'm going to
23:05do it for the rest of the episode as I
23:06talk about this. Uh, who was playing
23:09Sigth and Wingfall four, who was playing
23:12Sigth,
23:14were more than likely
23:17going to be
23:19at a table together duking it out. And
23:23nothing is more
23:26of a crazy final match
23:30than Order of the Shattered Throne going
23:32against Order of the Shattered Throne.
23:34Not because it's going to be a blood
23:35bath, because you have two
23:40defensive
23:41uh seekers
23:43who can heal.
23:45Basically, meaning
23:50it's going to take forever. The game is
23:53going to be 10 hours long.
23:57That's what we were afraid of, a game
24:00taking 10 hours long.
24:03that was going to be the biggest um
24:06shock and all of our tournament.
24:11Um where is it? I know I got a picture
24:14of these two as they were duking it out
24:18and uh here we go. It's kind of funny
24:20because they're not duking it out in
24:22this picture. They're kind of looking at
24:24the the board and trying to figure out
24:26their next move. But you've got two
24:28pathways. You've got two cigarettes.
24:31And to our shock,
24:35it didn't last that long. I think it
24:37lasted like 40 minutes. It was one of
24:40the short matches uh compared to
24:43everybody else.
24:45So, basically, that taught us don't
24:48don't judge a tournament uh game by
24:52who's playing. Anything can happen in
24:55maladdiction. And it does. It does 100%
24:59uh go down that way. And then we had our
25:03champion. There he is. Look at that
25:06smile on his face. That boy is a happy
25:08boy holding the trophy.
25:12Number one seeker.
25:15All right. There he is.
25:18M. Muel. M. Mitchell. Michelle.
25:22Michael.
25:24Mickey. I'm gonna call you Mickey.
25:26That's it. You're Mickey now. Sorry.
25:28He's gonna get so mad at me. Um, no, but
25:32we had first place was Muel. Second
25:35place was Nas. First place Mikuel was 3
25:37and 0. Uh, second place NS. Third place
25:40was Wingfall with two and one. Uh, I'm
25:44not going to Yeah, it was it was
25:46amazing. It was so much fun. And our
25:49champion match being Sigth versus Sigth
25:53uh added to that fun. like we were all
25:55standing around the table at the end
25:57watching to see how it unfolded.
26:01After it was all said and done, we all
26:03took pictures together and then uh
26:06Johnny said, "Hey, let's go out for post
26:09uh tournament drinks." We went to our
26:11other spot, Gundam Kitchen. Uh,
26:15we went there, we had a few drinks, we
26:17talked, and finally after all said and
26:21done, I think we got at top deck at
26:2410:00 a.m. and we left at 5 5:30.
26:30Finally, me and Johnny got to play.
26:33That That was so nice to sit down. We
26:37finished this. We said we were going to
26:39do a tournament. We did it. It's over.
26:41Everybody is happy. Everybody got
26:44something out of it. Everybody took home
26:46a prize, a gift, something. Um,
26:50and we got to sit down and play.
26:52Uh, I pulled out Pollenor. He Johnny,
26:56why do you do this to me? Why do you do
26:59this?
27:00He pulled out Grizza. And I'll leave it
27:03to you to figure out who won. Here's a
27:06spoiler alert. Grizza. Uh, but the funny
27:09thing is me and Johnny were playing And
27:13we were playing so just having fun. We
27:18weren't even paying attention to our
27:19mastery to the point where Johnny had to
27:22stop and look at me and go, "Oh, Mike,
27:24two turns ago when you did this. Now I
27:27win cuz I'm going to have the mastery."
27:29He wasn't paying attention. I wasn't
27:31paying attention. He was like, "Do you
27:33do you want to backtrack?" And I'm like,
27:34"No." We were having so much fun, not
27:37even paying attention to the mastery,
27:39just playing our decks.
27:42that it is what it is. I lost and and
27:45that's okay. And that was such a
27:50nice ending to the day to have two
27:53players that were so passionate about
27:55the game to create such an inviting and
28:00special experience for others that when
28:02me and him went to go play,
28:05it wasn't about winning or losing. It
28:07was literally just about playing the
28:09game.
28:10And I'm getting goosebumps just saying
28:12it because that's was such a perfect end
28:15to the night.
28:18Oh, so perfect. A day of watching people
28:22play the game that you enjoy so much.
28:26Having so much fun learning about the
28:28game that you play so much. Excited to
28:31get an alternate art card, to get a free
28:34mini, to get a ruler. Like these things
28:38you don't think of as exciting things to
28:39get, but in our world they are. They
28:42make the game just a smidge better.
28:48I think what me and Johnny learned from
28:50this experience, and I know I'm speaking
28:52for him, um,
28:55was it all it literally is, and it's
28:57cliche to say, it is about fun. It's
29:00about creating an environment, creating
29:02an event where everybody is welcomed,
29:06everybody feels comfortable,
29:08everybody gets a little something out of
29:11it cuz, you know, you're taking up your
29:12time on a Saturday. This is a a holiday
29:15weekend and they came out to play. Some
29:17traveling from about an hour away,
29:20but getting something as small as as one
29:22of those little gifts made it worth it
29:25to them and made it worth it to us.
29:29So, after it's all said and done, the
29:31biggest question is,
29:33would I and will I do it again? Abso
29:36fuckingutely.
29:38I can't wait to do this again. I said
29:41earlier I used to be in the wrestling a
29:43big huge amount. And one of the things I
29:46love is that we called it the first
29:49Agnar cuz now we get to call it the
29:52second Agnar, the third Agnar. Kind of
29:54like Wrestlemania.
29:56We get to keep track of how many of
29:58these we've done because I want us to
30:01look back years from now, still playing
30:04this game, still passionate,
30:06and be able to put a stamp on how many
30:09we've done and how many people have come
30:12out and enjoyed their time with us and
30:15how the community has grown.
30:18It's
30:21I love it. I love it.
30:25It was the first Agnar
30:28and exactly what it should have been,
30:30the start of what will be many as we
30:34travel through.
30:36Huge thank you to Top Deck for hosting
30:38this. All right. I've been going to Top
30:40Deck from before Mel Addiction was
30:43officially released and they've been so
30:46accommodating, so helpful, and so
30:48accepting of this game in a world where
30:51I'm sure that new games come out all the
30:53time. And some places like like uh uh
30:56Top Deck and other stores have to pick
30:58and choose which ones they put time and
31:00effort into and they have done that with
31:03this. Thank you to Johnny and his
31:05amazing wife, Johnny, for coming out and
31:08not being a participant, but being a
31:10host and helping those that needed the
31:14help uh at the playing field.
31:17Uh thank you to my wife Laura for even
31:22though she wasn't there, she was rooting
31:25for me from afar to make sure and help
31:27and understand that this was important
31:30for me and that she wanted it to be a
31:32success as well. So, thank you to her.
31:35Thank you to everybody that played
31:38because without the players, this game
31:39is nothing. And the fact that the first
31:42Agnar, the first tournament that we had
31:45had six people that came out and also
31:48new players says a lot about this game.
31:51Thank you to Admiral Tater. Admiral
31:54Tater worked with me to make sure that
31:55we had the products in when we needed
31:59them and in a timely fashion.
32:03Thank you to him. And and I'll just give
32:05a quick little plug for him. Again, not
32:06getting paid for this, but admiral
32:08tater.com.
32:10If you saw the the the
32:14accessories that I showed up here and
32:15you think, "Hey, I want one of those." I
32:17know for me the big one was the acrylic
32:19damage tokens. I really wanted that.
32:22Quality products, nicely priced. again,
32:25not getting paid for this, but he was a
32:27huge help in ensuring that I got the
32:29prizes in time for the tournament.
32:33Thank you to him. Thank you to
32:35Maladdiction for putting forth such an
32:37amazing game. And Jason from the Mal
32:40Addiction team. He is the uh the
32:43community manager and he assisted me
32:46when I had questions about how I do
32:50this, how I do that because it was my
32:53first time hosting a a uh a tournament.
32:56And sometimes your brain goes to the
32:58extreme of what you need to do. And he
33:01was there to tell me, you know, calm
33:03down. You don't need to go that crazy.
33:05It's going to be your first one. Go with
33:07the flow. Have some things to give away.
33:10It's going to be fine. You don't have to
33:12go crazy.
33:15Thank you for doing that. Truthfully,
33:18um, Deviant Dice rollers. All right,
33:22that was a big part of getting this
33:23together, creating a community that is
33:26so inviting. Um, if you're playing Mel
33:29Addiction, if you're thinking about
33:30getting the Mel Addiction, come hang out
33:32with us in Deviant Dice Rollers.
33:34DeviantDice Rollers.com.
33:37what started out as in my mind was
33:41supposed to be a strictly local uh
33:45community for the South Jersey area has
33:48100%
33:50uh grown leaps and bounds from that
33:53thought to now being a place where all
33:59are welcome. I'm getting visitors to the
34:01site from different countries from
34:04different states all over the world.
34:07and they're coming to Deviant Dice
34:09Rollers uh for our deck building
34:12capabilities
34:14uh for our which I think this is amazing
34:17our mini games which you hear it all the
34:20time people create things just because
34:23uh they want them and these were things
34:26that I just wanted in a website just to
34:28continue the fun because it's all about
34:31fun and others have enjoyed it as well
34:35so it. You don't just have to be from
34:38the Northeast area. You could be from
34:41anywhere and get something out of
34:43Deviant Dice Rollers uh website and our
34:46Discord, which has been growing uh
34:49steadily, which I'm very, very happy
34:51about.
34:53Torment went well. I can't wait to do to
34:56the next one. The podcast is doing well.
34:59Our numbers are growing week after week.
35:02Thank you to everybody who's been
35:03checking it out. Whether it's on
