0:00moving into the reproductive system
0:02we're going to discuss very briefly the
0:04female and the male reproductive system
0:06with the female and the male
0:08reproductive system their primary
0:11responsibility is to function together
0:13to achieve fertilization and produce
0:16Offspring we know from looking at the
0:19endocrine system that the male and the
0:22female both have their own distinctive
0:24hormones that they distribute and for
0:27the male just for review here we have
0:29the most abundant of the male sex
0:31hormone which is testosterone now
0:35testosterone is produced within What's
0:38called the testes and the testes have
0:40kind of a two-parter in their job so
0:42they produce testosterone and then they
0:45also produce sperm as well the testes
0:47are located inside of the scrotum and
0:51you can see the scrotum here it's going
0:53to be outer covering uh now moving into
0:55the scrotum the scrotum is just
0:57described as a pouch of skin that houses
0:59the testy so the testes are inside pouch
1:03on the outside is going to be the
1:04scrotum moving over into the main male
1:07sex organ we have the penis and the
1:10penis is responsibility is to move semen
1:13as well as urine out of the body looking
1:16at the epididymis here you can see it's
1:19kind of coiled here on top of the testes
1:22coil tube and that is where the sperm
1:25matures
1:26a lot of what happens within the male
1:29reproductive system when it comes to the
1:31production of sperm occurs right here
1:34inside of the testes moving on you have
1:37the vas deferens and the VAS deference
1:40connects the epididymis to the urethra
1:42and carry sperm cells to the urethra as
1:46well seminal vesicle that's this little
1:49tubular thing here
1:51sac-like organs that secrete seminal
1:54fluid
1:55fluid stimulates muscles in the female
1:58to Aid in propelling the sperm forward
2:01and then the very last is the prostate
2:03gland and the prostate gland is located
2:06just below the male bladder surrounds
2:09the top portion urethra contracts during
2:12ejaculation to move sperm forward and
2:16secretes fluid that protects sperm
2:18within the vagina all of that occurs
2:21within the prostate gland
