0:00so continuing with our conversation on
0:02the components of blood is we look
0:04through the sample of blood here in this
0:06picture I remember plasma plasma
0:09accounts for about 55 of the components
0:13of blood uh it is a light yellow liquid
0:16it is separated from the rest of the
0:19components and just for a review
0:21remember at the bottom portion of the
0:23blood we'll see most of the weight and
0:26the heaviest part of the blood is going
0:28to be the red blood cells which account
0:30for about 45 percent of a sample of
0:33blood in the middle remember this is
0:35called our Buffy coat Buffy coat has
0:37your platelets and also has your
0:39leukocytes we would not expect to see an
0:42elevated amount of leukocytes in a blood
0:45specimen unless the body was fighting
0:48some sort of infection
0:50other than that light amount of
0:52leukocytes that are always there but not
0:55uh actually in the process of fighting
0:57anything when you see leukocytes on a
1:00larger level then it's easier for a
1:02provider to be able to pinpoint exactly
1:04what it is that the body is fighting
1:07so plasma carries water nutrients
1:10hormones and proteins to the body and
1:13also has a responsibility in assisting
