0:03do have the ability to cause disease in
0:06large forms uh how they do this is they
0:09actually damage existing body cells and
0:12then they reproduce themselves within
0:14those cells they make body cells that
0:17Target uh the body's own defenses
0:20they produce cell and tissue damaging
0:23toxins or poisons and they have the
0:26ability to remain localized or travel
0:29throughout the body damaging or killing
0:31cells and tissues so essentially what it
0:34does is it comes into the immune system
0:36takes over the immune system and it
0:39takes those healthy cells turns them
0:41into their cells spreads disease
0:44throughout the body
0:45resident normal flora intact skin and
0:48mucous membranes all act as barriers and
0:51keep in mind as well we have the ability
0:54to protect ourselves as well by using
0:57our personal protective equipment
