0:00diseases and disorders that could be
0:02associated with the ear of course we
0:04have hearing loss hearing loss is
0:07referred to as deafness but there are
0:10different levels of deafness so there
0:12are individuals who are clinically
0:14considered to be deaf but can hear
0:17different tones and pitches so we have
0:20conductive which is a blockage of sound
0:22waves and then sensorial neural which is
0:25a damage to the auditory nerve so there
0:29can be different levels of sound that
0:31actually do make their way through and
0:33then you have individuals who are
0:35completely at a loss of hearing so Roman
0:38I mentioned which is the clinical term
0:40for ear wax and then going down we have
0:43what's called Meniere's disease
0:45Meniere's disease is common within
0:47individuals with the age of 30 to 50.
0:50unknown cause
0:52and it's in the inner ear problem is
0:55what it's called we really don't know
0:57what it's linked to but it does cause
1:00dizziness as well as unexplained ringing
1:03in the ear
1:04this occurs when a patient hears loud
1:06sounds those sounds tend to stay with
1:09them and so they're constantly hearing
1:11this ringing sound now we have
1:14otosclerosis which I mentioned sclerosis
1:17is hardening Odo is ear so this is going
1:20to be a hardening of the middle ear bow
1:23that could over time lead to conductive
1:26hearing loss and again because
1:29everything with hearing is in vibration
1:31and so if the bones are hardened that
1:34sound doesn't have the ability to
1:35vibrate off of anything to make it
1:38through to be able to be transposed into
1:40a sound pressed by cusses
1:43press by has to do with old age
1:46and so pressed by cusses is hearing loss
1:49that's due to old age
1:52otitis externa otitis media and otitis
1:56interna are all ear infections occurring
1:59in different parts of the ear
2:01so this is the external or outer ear
2:05media is the middle ear and interna is
2:09going to be an inner ear infection and
2:12in our very last term there is tinnitus
2:14and tinnitus is similar to Meniere's
2:17disease but it doesn't have
2:18specifications in age remember Meniere's
2:21disease is ages 30 to 50 and it's
2:24associated with the ringing in the ears
2:26as well as dizziness
2:28tinnitus is just the ringing in the ears
2:32so there's the difference between the
2:34two
