0:43What is this?
0:45This is grass.
0:48How would you describe this grass?
0:50It's green.
0:51Yes.
0:53So three words you can use to
0:54describe this grass is the grass is green.
0:58That's one sentence.
1:00The grass is very short.
1:01It's very short.
1:02The grass is not very tall.
1:04The grass is very short.
1:06That's the second sentence.
1:08And the third sentence, the grass looks very healthy.
1:12It looks very healthy.
1:15Looks very healthy.
1:16Now, I want you guys to make one sentence
1:19and put it in the comments to describe the
1:22grass.

1:40What do you see here that you can describe.
1:44Let's continue.
1:46What is this right here?
1:48What is this?
1:49That is a tree.
1:51Correct.
1:52This is a tree.
1:55A tree.
1:56What is this part of the tree called?
1:59What is the main part of the tree called?
2:02That is called the tree trunk.
2:05Correct.
2:06This is the tree trunk.
2:08And this tree is different.
2:11This looks like a palm tree or a coconut tree.
2:15I'm not a tree expert, as you can tell, but
2:18most trees have roots that go in the ground.
2:22The roots go in the ground and
2:24they're spread throughout the ground.
2:26The roots, usually you cannot see the roots.
2:30You cannot see the roots because they are underground.
2:34They are underground.
2:35A tree has roots that are underground and then it has the
2:39tree trunk that's above ground
2:41and from the tree trunk there are branches.
2:43And at the end of the branches there are usually leaves.
2:47Leaves there are leaves.
2:49If there is just one leaf, you would say there is a leaf.
2:54Leaves leaf.
2:55that right there, that is a white wall.
2:57There's also some sort of pattern on the upper part of the
3:01wall in the shape of a diamond,
3:02that is a wall.
3:04What am I doing right now?
3:07Standing.
3:09Correct.
3:09I am standing still.
3:11Or I am standing.
3:12You can say, "He is standing.
3:14She is standing.
3:15They are standing."
3:16Or "I am standing.
3:18I'm standing still."
3:19Now we're going to walk into a park that has many trees,
3:23lakes and other animals and we
3:25are going to describe them in slow
3:27English using comprehensible input.
3:30Let's go.
3:32Right now we are walking on this path.
3:35We are walking on this nice path.
3:37The path is easy to walk on because it is paved.
3:41It's paved.
3:42This to the right of me is a building.
3:46This is a building.
3:47A big white building.
3:49And right here, this is an underpass.
3:52So now we are going to walk under here.
3:54You can see in here on the ceiling there are LED lights.
4:00LED lights.
4:01These are these very bright, almost blue lights.
4:04These are these very, very bright white lights.
4:08LED lights.
4:09And it is dark inside this underpass.
4:12But it is also cool.
4:14On the outside it is very hot because the
4:16sun is beating on your skin and it is very
4:20humid.
4:21So it is hot.
4:21So it feels refreshing to go underground in the underpass
4:25and be protected from the elements.
4:28This right here looks like the main gate, doesn't it?
4:32Or maybe not the main gate but a gate.
4:34This is a gate, yup.
4:35We are going into the botanical gardens.
4:39And you can actually see right on
4:40the path there, there are monkeys.
4:43I did not know there were monkeys here, did you?
4:46I had no idea.
4:48They look mischievous, do they not?
4:50I don't want to get close to them
4:52because they will try to steal my backpack.
4:55Yeah, these ones look worse than
4:56the ones we saw at Monkey Beach.
4:58Yeah, these ones definitely have more human contact.
5:01Yeah, but this is where we are.
5:03We are at the botanical gardens.
5:06This right here is a map.
5:09On the side here we call this a legend.
5:12Legend has multiple meanings in English but
5:15in this case it is just a place that has all
5:18the items on the map listed.
5:19So you can see number 22 and number 22.
5:23Edible garden, a legend.
5:26You can see the monkeys over there.
5:28The monkey just climbed up that tree.
5:29You got to hold onto that camera tight.
5:32Oh I know.
5:34That one there is eyeing you up.
5:36Look at the monkey.
5:38Look at him.
5:38Look at all of them.
5:39Look at the one up there.
5:40Oh look at that guy.
5:41I'm going to take out my phone, open up my
5:43camera and I'm going to take a video of the
5:46monkeys. Can you see them?
5:48I'm mostly going to take a video of the monkey.
5:50They look kind of chill now that we are closer to them.
5:53But look at this tree.
5:54Those look like roots but I'm pretty
5:56sure that's just the way the tree is.
5:58But those all look like roots.
5:59That's a cool tree actually.
6:01Now a question for you.
6:03What is the difference between
6:04that green part and this paved part?
6:07What is the difference?
6:08Can you give me three differences?
6:10And you guys too in the comments give me three differences.
6:14Okay three differences.
6:16The first and most obvious in my opinion
6:20is this is organic and this is inorganic.
6:24What is another way to say that?
6:27This is natural.
6:28This forms naturally.
6:30So grass just grows without you needing to do anything.
6:34Grass is natural.
6:35This however is not natural.
6:37This is unnatural.
6:39It is not naturally formed in nature
6:41especially in a perfect path like this.
6:45Second.
6:45This grass is colorful
6:48This just looks grey and dead.
6:51The last one.
6:53This is a living organism.
6:56It's alive.
6:57This is not alive.
6:58There is no life in this.
7:00Yep.
7:00So grass is alive.
7:02That's why it can grow.
7:03Even if you cut it it will grow.
7:04However pavement and cement is not alive.
7:07This right here is a gazebo.
7:10A gazebo is an open air structure like this usually where
7:14you can eat and have barbecues
7:16or just sit and relax like this one.
7:18It is a lot cooler in the shade of this gazebo.
7:22It is a lot cooler.
7:24And up top there you can see an LED light.
7:28Tell me guys is the light on or off?
7:31The light is off.
7:35Over there in the lake.
7:42What do you guys see?
7:43What is that?
7:44That is a fountain.
7:46A fountain.
7:46How many fountains are in this shot?
7:52There appears to be one, two,
7:55three, four, five, six fountains.
7:59I am not sure if you can see them all on your screen.
8:02So if there is more than one of something
8:04whether it's an object, a person or anything
8:08There are fountains.
8:10If there is just one fountain
8:11you would say there is a fountain.
8:14So plural there are fountains.
8:17Singular there is a fountain.
8:21Time for a quick quiz.
8:22What do you call this part of the tree?
8:26The tree trunk.
8:28What do you call the part of the tree that is underground?
8:32The roots.
8:33What do you call the part of the tree that
8:35grows out of the tree and usually has these
8:37small green things on them?
8:39What do you call that?
8:42The branches and the leaves.
8:45This lake looks to be naturally formed.
8:49The color of the lake is green.
8:52The lake is green.
8:54It is not blue.
8:55It is green.
8:57There is a lot of wildlife in this park.
9:00When we were walking here we saw
9:02about four or five monkeys, right?
9:07Yes.
9:08They were kind of big too.
9:10Yeah, they were running across the path, the monkeys.
9:14But they seemed pretty calm and I
9:16think they might be scared of people.
9:19And another thing right on the ground here you guys.
9:22You can see all these rocks.
9:25All these rocks.
9:26Rocks are very smooth.
9:27You can see the rocks are very smooth and shiny.
9:31But this is uneven.
9:33It's uneven.
9:34So if you're walking it doesn't feel that
9:36comfortable to walk on since it is uneven.
9:40These benches are made of very tiny rocks and cement.
9:45The floor is made of bigger sized
9:47rocks and also cement but it is not smooth.
9:51So you can really see the difference.
9:53These rocks are tiny.
9:55These rocks are tiny.
9:57Those rocks are about normal size.
9:59They're not very big but they're also not tiny.
10:03And as you guys can see the
10:05ceiling of the gazebo is broken.
10:08It's broken or it is damaged.
10:11The gazebo ceiling is damaged.
10:13The inside part here is the ceiling
10:16and the outside you would call the roof.
10:19The roof and the ceiling.
10:22What material does it look
10:24like this ceiling is made out of?
10:27I will give you a hint.
10:30It's made out of the same material as this pillar.
10:36Wood.
10:37It is made out of wood.
10:38The ceiling is made out of wood.
10:40The roof is made out of clay tiles.
10:43As you guys can see there are
10:45a lot of pigeons just chilling.
10:48Another one flew down.
10:50Pigeons in my opinion are kind of like a dirty animal.
10:53A lot of people refer to pigeons as rats that can fly or
10:59rats of the sky because they are
11:02kind of like a dirty animal.
11:04A dirty animal.
11:05I agree with that.
11:06They are always digging through garbage
11:08And there are a lot of them.
11:10So it makes sense why people call them rats of the sky.
11:13But there is a nice breeze where we're standing.
11:16So I could just feel the nice cool breeze just hit me.
11:20And it's very relaxing because it is hot.
11:25I'm sure you guys have heard me
11:26say that about a million times.
11:28That right there is an exaggeration.
11:31I was exaggerating.
11:33I didn't actually say it a
11:35million times but it's an exaggeration.
11:37It's very normal in any language I believe
11:39to exaggerate a fact or to exaggerate what
11:43you're saying.
11:43But that breeze feels very nice.
11:47We are currently at the very beginning of the park.
11:50So you could walk around this whole lake and if you go
11:54further that way you will find more
11:56lakes.
11:57So there are more lakes in that direction as well.
12:00So what do you guys call this?
12:04What do you call this?
12:07You can call that dirt or soil.
12:11Or you can call it the earth but
12:12people mostly call it dirt or soil.
12:15Here I would just call it soil since it's
12:17beneath the tree but you can also call it
12:19dirt.
12:19They pretty much mean the exact same thing.
12:21Dirt and soil.
12:23Or if you want to get fancy, earth.
12:26When you walk through a park you can either say you're
12:29going for a walk or it sounds a
12:31little bit better if you say you're going for a stroll.
12:34A stroll is similar to walking but
12:35it's just like a relaxed form of walking.
12:38You're not really walking anywhere particular.
12:40You're just going for a stroll.
12:42You're just walking around the park.
12:43Oh I'm going to go for a stroll in the park.
12:46It's more for pleasure rather
12:48than specifically going somewhere.
12:50So you can see this small little ditch here.
12:55Ditch for water.
12:57So when it rains the ditch will fill up
12:59and the water will flow into the lake instead
13:01of flowing onto the path where people are walking.
13:03And right now I want you guys to guess what I'm doing.
13:07Tell me what action this is.
13:08There are a couple correct answers
13:09but I just want you guys to give me one.
13:14What did I just do?
13:15You can say I jumped because I did.
13:18I jumped or I hopped.
13:21I just hopped over this ditch.
13:24I hopped.
13:25So instead of saying oh he jumped you could say he hopped
13:28which is like either just small
13:31hops like this or what I just did there.
13:33A jump you can refer to that as a jump as
13:35well but also you can use jump when you jump
13:39higher.
13:39So if I jumped really high like if I ran and then jumped
13:43then you would say jumped because
13:44that's not really a hop.
13:45A hop is not as high as a jump.
13:49Let's continue.
13:50How would you describe this right here?
13:52The path is blocked.
13:54So yeah you could say the path is
13:55blocked or you could say the path is overgrown.
13:59So this bush is overgrown.
14:00So now it's blocking the path so we have to
14:02go around and this path I don't think it's
14:05used very much.
14:06What do you think?
14:07Maybe just by the monkeys.
14:09Maybe just by the monkeys.
14:10But yeah it looks like some people put sticks there.
14:12It doesn't look like that's naturally there.
14:15Why do you think that?
14:16Maybe to defend themselves or clean up.
14:19From what?
14:21Maybe.
14:22Now on this side I don't even see the paved path anymore.
14:25I just see like a dirt trail now.
14:27Yeah I think it ended over there.
14:29Yeah.
14:29This is part of the trail but it
14:31looks like it continues up over there.
14:33Yeah the initial stretch was like nice and
14:35paved but then it went overgrown and now it
14:37looks like the sand from the top of this small hill has
14:40come down and completely covered
14:42the paved trail.
14:43So we're kind of like bear grills out here in the wild.
14:47Yeah this looks a little wet.
14:48So I think when it rains because it just
14:50rained yesterday it brings this all down and
14:53covers it.
14:54Is it normal for it to be raining
14:55this much this time of the year in KL?
14:59Like the past week or two it's been raining every day.
15:02At night usually but yeah is that normal?
15:04Well from what I understand monsoon season is right away.
15:08I think it starts in March so this is the
15:11beginning of the monsoon season and then
15:13when it's monsoon season it's going to rain every day.
15:16From my understanding it starts in April
15:19and from what I've heard from people they said
15:21it is very unusual for it to be
15:23raining this time of the year.
15:25This time of the year is supposed to be dry and hot.
15:27When does the rainy season start in Kuala Lumpur?
15:31The wettest months are October, November and April.
15:35We're currently according to this
15:37in monsoon season November to March.
15:39I thought it was dry season I might be tripping.
15:41Let's keep going and walking
15:43down this big heavy overgrown path.
15:46I'm not sure if you guys can hear that.
15:48If not insert some bird audio.
15:51But the birds are chirping.
15:55The birds are chirping.
15:56Or you can say the birds are singing.
15:58Birds are singing or they are
15:59chirping which is very beautiful.
