0:00Welcome back guys to another video.

0:03This will be another slow English

0:07comprehensible input vlog in my home.

0:11Today we'll be going to each and every room, including my

0:15bedroom, balcony, washroom, living room,

0:18kitchen, dining room, laundry room and more.

0:22And we'll be learning phrases and vocabulary in each room.

0:27On top of that, there will be two shadowing segments to

0:30practice your pronunciation and your accent.

0:34There'll be one in the beginning of the video here and then

0:37one at the very end of the video.

0:40So make sure you stick around until the end to really

0:42practice your pronunciation today.

0:46And on top of that, you'll be learning new words.

0:48There will also be a common mistakes section at the end

0:51where I'll tell you some common mistakes

0:53people make with the words and phrases we learned today.

0:57A little quicker, but this is

0:59each to the hallway where you can go.

1:02Balcony is a little dirty, but it's good enough.

1:05It's good enough.

1:06I have a bunch of cables and this is just to an hygiene.

1:10So it's an easy way to measure the dog food out.

1:13This is also for privacy because there's nothing.

1:15Work space, an air conditioner on to the next room.

1:20And then next, so without further ado, let's get started.

1:23As you guys know, we've already

1:25talked about this in a previous video,

1:27so I'll go through it a little quicker.

1:29But this is my front door and

1:32this is the entrance to my apartment.

1:34On the outside, you can see there are just more apartments.

1:40I'm opening my door.

1:46I'm closing my door.

1:49And here you can say I'm locking my door.

1:52When I close the door, it locks automatically.

1:55So I don't have to manually lock my door.

1:58It doesn't automatically.

2:00So this door does not lead to,

2:02you know, outside of the building.

2:04It just leads to the hallway

2:06where you can go to more rooms.

2:09Over here we have our shoe rack.

2:12This is a shoe rack and you can put shoes here mainly,

2:15but we also have some bags as well.

2:17Bags for what?

2:18Those are shopping bags.

2:19So if we ever go shopping, we

2:21bring some of those bags with us.

2:23This right here is my balcony.

2:31Did it rain today?

2:33Yeah, you can see.

2:34It was just raining.

2:35My balcony is a little dirty.

2:37So the reason the balcony is dirty,

2:39because they are demolishing

2:41the building across the street.

2:42So if you take a closer look there,

2:43you can see they are demolishing that building.

2:46So all that dust has been coming to my balcony.

2:48So my balcony is pretty dirty because of that.

2:51So now some useful sentences.

2:54I'm stepping onto my balcony.

3:00I am getting fresh air.

3:05This part of my balcony here is called the railing.

3:09The railing.

3:09And it keeps me from falling over.

3:12But I'm going to close this because it's very hot outside.

3:16And all that hot air is going to

3:18come in my room and warm up my room.

3:22And it's very hot here.

3:24And that's not what I want.

3:26The view from my balcony is very nice.

3:29And I like coming here to relax or to watch the sun rise.

3:35Because the sun rises from this side.

3:38It does not set, unfortunately.

3:40But the good thing is, there is a

3:42lot of light in my room in the morning.

3:44But that's also a bad thing

3:45because it's bright from like 6am.

3:49And I wake up at 8.

3:50So I have to keep my curtains closed.

3:52But these curtains are very thick.

3:55So no light passes through them.

3:57So it hasn't woken me up yet.

5:09I'm at home in my apartment.

5:12I open the front door and walk inside.

5:15I take off my shoes and put them on the shoe rack.

5:19Then I lock the door behind me.

5:22My apartment is quiet and comfortable.

5:25I walk from room to room and look around.

5:28There is a bedroom, a

5:29bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.

5:33This is where I sleep, eat, relax, and study.

5:37At home I use English every day.

5:41I turn on the lights, open the curtains, and make my bed.

5:45I brush my teeth, cook food, and do laundry.

5:49These are simple words, but they are very important.

5:53So right now I'm inside my bedroom.

5:55This is my bed.

5:57This is my blanket.

5:58And these are my pillows.

6:00And you can see my bed is made.

6:02It's not made perfectly, but it's good enough.

6:06It's good enough.

6:07This is my lamp.

6:08My lamp.

6:09This is my nightstand.

6:11This is just a rack where I hang my clothes.

6:14This is a mirror.

6:16These are drawers.

6:17And I have some of my colognes, and creams, and sunscreen,

6:22and lip chap, or lip balm, on this dresser.

6:26This right here is my desk where I work.

6:29This is a chair.

6:31I am pulling out the chair.

6:34I'm pushing the chair back in.

6:37There are more drawers on the side here.

6:39And over here, these are my closets.

6:43I have a whole wall of closets.

6:46And on the inside, you can just see I have some clothes.

6:50Some clothes.

6:51So I have a lot of closet space and

6:54a lot of storage space in my room.

6:56Up there, that is a light.

6:59A light.

7:00And I turn on the light with this light switch.

7:04So the light is on.

7:06Now the light is off.

7:08The light in my room is off, but my room is still bright.

7:12Because the light from outside is coming into my room.

7:17So some very common actions that

7:19occur in the bedroom are going to bed.

7:25Waking up.

7:29Making my bed.

7:34Opening my curtains.

7:40Closing my curtains.

7:42And getting dressed.

7:44So you can see I'm already dressed, but in

7:46the morning, you are usually not dressed.

7:48So you go to the bathroom or the washroom.

7:52You have a shower, you get ready, you

7:53brush your teeth, and then you get dressed.

7:55And that will be the next room we go to.

7:58And over here, you can see I have a bunch of cables.

8:02And this is just to plug my phone in at night to charge it.

8:07And over here, I have my lamp that I just turned on.

8:10And now I will turn it off.

8:13Now that we've learned some

8:14vocabulary actions and phrases in the bedroom,

8:18let's head over to another important room, the bathroom.

8:22This is where I go first thing in the morning.

8:24So I go to the bathroom, I have a

8:25shower, I use the toilet, I brush my teeth,

8:29wash my face, and do all that.

8:31And I shave.

8:32So let's head over to the bathroom.

8:35Now on the outside of the bathroom, there are two switches.

8:40This bottom one is for the fan

8:42and the top one is for the light.

8:44So this is my bathroom.

8:47Nothing fancy, just a normal bathroom.

8:49There is a sink here, a toilet, and a

8:52bathtub, and also a standing shower.

8:56This right here is a glass door.

8:58You open the glass door with this handle.

9:01I put my hand cloth here because there

9:04is nothing for me to hang it on the wall.

9:06Although that would kind of be

9:08ideal if there was a couple hooks here

9:10or something I could hang my hand towels on.

9:14But unfortunately there isn't.

9:16There's only one in the shower.

9:20So this right here, this part, is my mirror.

9:23This is my toothpaste.

9:26And I don't know where my toothbrush is.

9:29It's probably in the shower because I like brushing my

9:31teeth when I'm in the shower.

9:34I have an electric toothbrush.

9:36So some very common actions in the

9:38bathroom are I have a shower in the bathroom,

9:42I brush my teeth in the bathroom,

9:44I use the toilet in the bathroom,

9:46I wash my hands as well, I wash my

9:49face, I wash my body, I floss my teeth,

9:53I dry my hair, I dry my hands,

9:56I take a bath, I take a shower.

9:59There are a lot of actions you do in the bathroom,

10:01but it's mostly to do with personal health and hygiene.

10:06Now let's have a quick quiz.

10:09There'll be three questions throughout this whole video

10:12and I want you guys to answer them

10:14and put your answers in the comments.

10:16First question, where do you usually sleep?

10:24Where do you usually sleep?

10:27Put your answers in the comments.

10:30Second question, which sentence is correct?

10:33I make a shower, I take a shower or I do a shower?

10:38Which sentence is correct?

10:41Let me know in the comments.

10:43Now let's move over to the kitchen.

10:47Now we are in the kitchen.

10:49This is the area where you cook.

10:52Sometimes it's its own room, but

10:55this is more of an open concept kitchen.

10:58So you can see the living room and

10:59the dining room from the kitchen.

11:01This is something I prefer.

11:03Tell me, what do you guys prefer?

11:04Do you prefer open concept kitchens

11:07where you can see the dining room,

11:08living room and other parts of your home?

11:11Or do you prefer kitchens that are in their own room?

11:14I prefer this because it feels more

11:16open and like there is more space.

11:18If it was closed off here with a wall

11:20and a wall, it would feel so, so small.

11:23If there's like a wall here, a

11:25wall there, that was just entered.

11:27It would just feel so small, congested and

11:30I would feel like claustrophobic in here.

11:33So I'm glad it's open.

11:35It's a lot nicer.

11:36Anyway, this right here is called a range hood.

11:40The range hood is silver and made out of metal.

11:44I'm pretty sure it doesn't work.

11:45I don't think this sucks any air or anything out.

11:49And if it does, then I don't know how to

11:51turn it on, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

11:54This right here is a stovetop.

11:55This is an electric stovetop.

11:58So it doesn't work with gas.

12:00Instead, it works with power.

12:02So you turn it on there, you adjust your temperature and

12:06you cook your food like that.

12:08This right here is my blender.

12:09I bought this in a previous

12:11video where I went grocery shopping.

12:13But yeah, this is my blender.

12:15It actually works quite nicely and it

12:18doesn't smoke and blow up like the other one.

12:21The other blender I had, I told you guys I was running it.

12:24It just started smoking, smoking, smoking.

12:26Pretty sure a fire started in it.

12:28So I threw it in the sink, put a bunch

12:30of water on it, and then I threw it out.

12:32So I had to get a new one, but

12:33this is a good brand, Phillips.

12:35That is the brand name, Phillips.

12:37So that blender is a lot better and it's just plastic.

12:41So yeah, this right here is a small kitchen scale.

12:45You see kitchen scale and this is just

12:46to weigh, you know, different products

12:49so you know how much something weighs ingredient wise.

12:52Over here we have our sink.

12:55This is a faucet and the faucet is extendable.

12:59So that's nice.

13:02Over here we have two pots that are drying.

13:04Up top we have four plates and here is

13:07where we keep all our cutlery and knives.

13:11Give me your hand.

13:13I am.

13:15Sliced them.

13:16These containers are my yogurt

13:17containers, but I do like keeping these containers

13:20because I do find them pretty useful in Canada.

13:23I know we always keep them

13:24because sometimes we put stuff in here

13:27if we run out of normal plastic containers

13:29or we use them as like a measuring cup for our dog food

13:33because we have like we have like three big dogs

13:35and we get these big bags of dog food and we're like,

13:38"Hmm, how much do we feed them?"

13:39And we feed them a couple cups of these each.

13:41So one scoop, two scoop.

13:43So it's an easy way to measure the

13:45dog food out and it's a nice container.

13:49Over here up top we have cupboards.

13:51Also on the bottom we have a lot of cupboards.

13:53There are no drawers here, only cupboards.

13:56Drawers are the ones you pull out.

13:58Cupboards are the ones you open up

14:00like this and there are shelves inside.

14:03You can see it's pretty empty.

14:04Oh, honestly, I forgot I had these eggs.

14:07Loki, I should cook some eggs.

14:10Boil them.

14:11Last time I boiled all these eggs and I forgot to eat them.

14:14This time I'll only boil like a couple at a time.

14:17But yeah, I should boil some eggs though.

14:19Also, let me know if you're from Japan.

14:20Japanese curry is one of my favorite dishes ever, dude.

14:24I love Japanese curry so much like with tonkatsu.

14:31So good, dude, so good.

14:33Japanese curry, man, is really, really good.

14:35I love, love that.

14:37Actually, I got two.

14:37I got this one too.

14:39Shout out to Japan.

14:41So yeah, some actions you do in the kitchen are, before I

14:45answer, leave them in the comments.

14:47What actions can you think of

14:49right now off the top of your head

14:51that you do every time you are in the kitchen?

14:55You wash dishes in the kitchen.

14:58You cook or I cook or I'm cooking in the kitchen.

15:03I just finished cooking.

15:05I also open the fridge door and I

15:08grab ingredients from the fridge.

15:11Same thing with the freezer.

15:12I grab ingredients out of my freezer to cook.

15:16The freezer freezes my food.

15:18So I need to warm it up for longer

15:21if I want it to be room temperature.

15:23The fridge just keeps it cool and fresh.

15:26Also in the kitchen, you can

15:27warm things up with a microwave.

15:30You can also cook rice in a rice

15:32cooker or you can boil water in a kettle.

15:35This is a kettle.

15:37So there are many things you can do in a kitchen.

15:40But mainly a kitchen is used to make food and eat it.

15:44And also to clean up after you've

15:47finished preparing and cooking your food.

16:29So now we are moving to the dining table.

16:34This is the dining table and this is where you eat food.

16:37And here we have a fork, a knife and a spoon.

16:42You can have two different types of spoons.

16:44This is a tablespoon.

16:46But the smaller version is called a teaspoon.

16:50This right here is a plate.

16:51The one that is kind of like this shape is called a bowl.

16:56This is a plate.

16:57And this is a glass because it is made out of glass.

17:02This right here is my dining table.

17:06These are my chairs.

17:07There are four chairs here.

17:09Two on each side of the dining table.

17:11Over here we have a window but we can't see anything

17:15because there is a curtain blocking our view.

17:17But this is also for privacy

17:19because there's nothing really here

17:21besides the other apartment on the other side.

17:24So if it was open, they would just be able to see us.

17:26But it's just an open area in the

17:28middle of the apartment building.

17:30And up top here we have some lights.

17:32Two of these lights are blue LEDs

17:35and the third one is a yellow light.

17:37So it's kind of mismatched a little bit there.

17:40And on the side here we have some napkins

17:44and some spices, salt, pepper and

17:45paprika and also some sugar and a banana.

17:49And over here we have a lot of rice cakes.

17:52Rice cakes are rice crackers.

17:53Third question.

17:55Which sentence is most natural?

17:58I sit on the table and eat dinner.

18:01I sit at the table and eat dinner.

18:03Or I sit inside the table and eat dinner.

18:07Leave your answers in the comments.

18:10Now I'm in my living room.

18:12This behind me is called a sofa or a couch.

18:16These are called pillows.

18:18This is a coffee table.

18:20A glass coffee table.

18:23This is a TV remote.

18:26There are many buttons on the TV remote.

18:29But the main one is to turn it on.

18:32The main red button.

18:33There are also more buttons to change

18:35the channel or to change the volume.

18:38So this is a TV remote.

18:42And over here this is a TV.

18:45A TV.

18:45Right now the TV is off.

18:47You can tell because the screen is completely black.

18:49And on this side we have some paintings.

18:52Some cupboards.

18:54Some storage space.

18:55An air conditioner.

18:57And here we have a fan.

18:58This is just to keep the living room cool.

19:01Cool.

19:02So some common actions in a living room are.

19:06I sit down on the sofa.

19:09I pick up the TV remote and I turn on the TV.

19:13And I play my favorite show on the TV.

19:16Now you can see the TV is turning on.

19:19Are you going to play 90 day fiance?

19:22Facts.

19:23I'll play 90 day fiance.

19:25Let me know in the comments if you guys

19:27have ever watched the show 90 day fiance.

19:31I know my parents watch it a lot and

19:34I've never really watched it myself.

19:36But recently I've started watching it

19:38and it's actually pretty entertaining.

19:40I'm not gonna lie.

19:41Some of the people on there on 90 day fiance below my mind.

19:44I think there are 12 seasons and right now I'm just

19:47watching season 12 like the most recent one.

19:49They're still airing episodes.

19:51But some of those people are comically like are they real?

19:55Is like sometimes what I think to myself.

19:57Like are they acting?

19:58Is this like a character that they're playing?

20:01Or is this like really how they are?

20:03Because some people man blow my mind.

20:06Because I mean they obviously try

20:08to find I think the most extreme.

20:10People that are like have like the most extreme situation

20:13or personality or character you know.

20:15They're not gonna choose the most normal

20:16mundane run of the mill Joe Schmo people right?

20:20They're gonna choose people that are like a little bit a

20:22little bit off their rocker you know.

20:23And it's entertaining.

20:25It's really entertaining.

20:26Now I'll turn the TV off.

20:31So in the living room you can sit back, relax, kick your

20:35feet up and just relax you know.

20:37Take a break.

20:38Usually you come here after a long day of work.

20:42When you just want to relax, watch a show, wind down and

20:46spend time either with your family,

20:48your friends or your partner or anyone or alone.

20:51Nothing wrong with that.

20:52But now let's move on to the next

20:55room and the next area of the house.

20:58And at the end I want you guys to tell me what is your

21:01favorite part of your home and why.

21:03And if you have a sauna in your home I'm

21:05sure that's probably your favorite part.

21:07So the last part is the laundry area.

21:12Kind of small it's just part of Leon's

21:14bathroom but this is the laundry area.

21:16Just one washer and dryer combo unit.

21:19So this is a washer and dryer in the same unit.

21:23So it's a two in one.

21:24And yeah that's the whole laundry area.

21:27To the side here you can see this is Leon's room.

21:31Take a look in there pretty clean.

21:35Now we're going to have a common mistakes section.

21:40So we're going to go through some common

21:42mistakes English learners usually make.

21:45And at the very end we'll have a final shadowing segment.

21:48So make sure you stick around.

21:50Mistake one.

21:51I am in home.

21:54Incorrect.

21:55The correct version is I am at home.

22:00Now you guys say it with me.

22:02I am at home.

22:03Now I am at home.

22:07Good job.

22:08Second common mistake.

22:10I make a shower.

22:14I make a shower.

22:15Incorrect.

22:16The correct version is I take a shower.

22:19I take a shower.

22:21I'm going to take a shower.

22:22I'm taking a shower.

22:24I just took a shower.

22:25Now say it with me.

22:27I'm taking a shower.

22:31Good job.

22:33Third mistake.

22:34Open the light.

22:35Incorrect.

22:36Correct version is turn on the light.

22:41Fourth mistake.

22:42I do my bed.

22:45Incorrect.

22:46The correct version is I make my bed.

22:49I make my bed.

22:51I make my bed every morning.

22:55Good job.

22:55Fifth mistake.

22:57I sit on the table.

22:59This is on the table.

23:01I sit on the table.

23:03No.

23:04The correct way to say that is I sit at the table.

23:08I sit at the table.

23:10Now let's have the final shadowing segment where we talk

23:13about everything we have just learned

23:15in this video.

23:16So make sure to really focus on

23:18shadowing me, following along,

23:20practicing your pronunciation and your accent.

23:23Let's go.

23:24In the morning, I wake up in my bedroom.

23:27I get out of bed and make my bed.

23:30Then I open the curtains and let sunlight into the room.
