0:02Did everything go as planned?

0:03>> Not even close. Nothing went as planned.

0:06Actually,

0:07>> I sacrificed everything. I dropped out

0:09of university in my third year, but I

0:11chose to take a risk.

0:12>> I was bullied online, so try not to cry.

0:16But um

0:19>> we were just terribly wrong.

0:21Um

0:24this is [music] where it gets real.

0:26There was no going back. Okay, now it's

0:29getting real.

0:30>> I might just cry

0:32>> at this point. It's just pack up shop.

0:34>> It's almost a year now.

0:35>> I don't know what we're going to do

0:36[music] and it's just not going to work

0:37out.

0:38>> I sold my car for this.

0:39>> That's never been done before. Something

0:41that no one's doing.

0:42>> We going to do it.

0:43>> Starting a business is [music] it's not

0:45for the weak is what I've learned.

1:14All right, make find my way to go meet

1:17some vendors. Hopefully I find the right

1:20ones. Wish me luck. I'm nervous.

1:25[music]

1:29>> All right, I'm here with Balambo and

1:32cameraman. We're looking for the hair

1:34and beauty and stuff

1:37[music]

1:39>> for the mener to come private meeting

1:42and you see me and sit and they come to

1:44us.

1:49So, the vendors weren't there. A bit

1:52disappointed, but we got a girl's

1:54contact that she said she knows all of

1:56them. We'll see. The journey to success

2:00has little bumps. It's not meant to be

2:02easy, but we're going to make it.

2:06[music]

2:09So, if you can, could you just [music]

2:11tell us about yourself?

2:15>> [music]

2:20>> All right. So, I just cut the check. We

2:23found three of the best manufacturers

2:26for the hair. I'm excited. I'm going to

2:29test them out and I'm going to pick

2:31>> only the best, right? Gio, you want to

2:33see?

2:34>> I can't show you. Gio,

2:36>> sorry.

2:38[laughter]

2:39>> It's been a week. Every single day me

2:42and my business partners have been

2:44looking for factories. Yo, you guys, it

2:48was it was too much. Like getting

2:49rejected, finding out that they didn't

2:52fly out to Dubai. Like discouraged, but

2:55a setback is what do you say?

2:58>> A setback is a setup for a greater

3:00comeback.

3:01>> Period. So, I'm super excited. This is

3:03going to be the best of the best.

3:06>> After placing that very first order, how

3:09did you feel? So, for me, I was excited.

3:12I was I thought to myself, we found the

3:15right vendor. Everything's going to be

3:17smooth sailing. And little did I know

3:20all the work that was to come. And

3:23honestly, I was so wrong. I just got

3:26some samples and so far so good. At

3:30first, I didn't really like this one,

3:32but upon doing more research, the sample

3:35is actually good. So, I just have to do

3:38the bleach test. to see if it's true raw

3:41hair.

3:43We're going to see. I'm getting a bunch

3:45of different vendors. I'm going to test

3:47out vendors that are known for colored

3:50hair and then vendors that are known to

3:52have real raw single donor hair and then

3:55I'm going to test everything out. I am

3:57going to wear the hair just to see how

4:00it holds up and everything. Everything

4:02will be ready for our launch this

4:04summer. Super excited. I wonder if I'm

4:07going to pick at the end. It's going to

4:08be fun to watch these videos and see how

4:11everything started.

4:12>> Walk me through the name. Where did

4:14Chubby come from?

4:15>> Chubby come from? This is a bit

4:17emotional for me, but so as you guys

4:19know, I gained weight with my pregnancy

4:22[clears throat] and I was bullied

4:24online. So, try not to cry, but um me

4:29and my brother were talking about it and

4:31um he kind of told me to

4:34take possession of the word chubby

4:36again. And then we decided to do that.

4:39Let's make chubby bundles because when

4:41it comes to bundles, we all like thick

4:43bundles, right? So, it was one of those

4:45things. It was easy. I was like, "Oh,

4:47let's make it chubby bundles, you know,

4:49chubby hair." So, that's where kind of

4:51the idea came and then we bounced off of

4:53the idea, but originally it was kind of

4:54like to take back possession of all the

4:57hateful things that were said about me,

4:58about my weight after, you know, being

5:00pregnant, giving birth. So, that's the

5:03meaning. [music]

5:10>> [music]

5:14>> There was definitely a lot of roadblocks

5:15that we encountered and a lot of stuff

5:17that went didn't go according to plan.

5:19>> Wow, guys. This is actually so nice. Out

5:21of all the samples I've gotten, this one

5:23is the best. It's been really hard. Yes,

5:26Gio, thank you. But [laughter]

5:28that was one of the worst ones that I

5:30got. The color is not what I requested.

5:33I might have to go in and change up the

5:36color a little bit, dye it myself,

5:38actually see if I can get it to the

5:40blonde color that I like. And that's the

5:42thing with hair and the dying and

5:45finding vendors that are good at dying

5:46is so hard to find. A lot of times the

5:49hair comes dry, but this one is very

5:52nice. The colors are even, no smell,

5:56which is really Oh, which is really

5:58good. I am very happy. This process is

6:01taking so long, you guys. I'm exhausted.

6:03It's like I'm going to have to run my

6:06test on this to see if it's good

6:08quality. The eyes can be deceiving and I

6:10have been deceived before. So, yeah,

6:12we're going to keep going. Okay, so this

6:15is the other one. This supposed to be

6:17one of the best reputable. Look how dry

6:19it is. So, the first thing I do is

6:20obviously when it comes out I g

6:23obviously the first thing I do is

6:25obviously when it comes out I check for

6:26a smell. It reeks you guys. And then the

6:29tangles. See how my fingers get stuck?

6:32Like you guys don't want hair like this.

6:34It gets stuck compared to this one. Look

6:37how nice it is.

6:39Smooth.

6:41And then this one here

6:44get stuck. And it's all staticky, but

6:47the color is very nice in this one. This

6:51one is a bit darker. But I'm going to

6:54try to dye this one and see if I can get

6:58it like this. Other than that, I really

7:00like this color. And this one really

7:02feels like hair compared to this one.

7:04This one feels like there is um some

7:06synthetic fibers in here. I can feel it.

7:10My hands, they know what they're doing.

7:12But yeah, I do have to run some tests on

7:14this, but so far very good.

7:16>> Mhm.

7:17>> What was often an issue with the hair

7:19samples you would receive?

7:20>> For me, with all the samples that we had

7:22gotten, not all of it, but a few, it was

7:24the quality of the hair, the shedding,

7:26the matting up, and also from the

7:28vendor, they're very wishy-washy. So

7:30they'd be like, "Oh, the hair will be

7:32ready this time." And then it wasn't

7:34ready. So going into business, I didn't

7:36want to work with business partners like

7:39that. And as well as their qualities,

7:41the colors didn't match up. Quality

7:43control was in there. The hair had smell

7:45when you washed it. It was dirty. So

7:48it's like I didn't I wouldn't want to

7:50sell that to anyone because who wants to

7:53open uneven colors or uneven bundles?

7:56Some bundles were longer, shorter than

7:58the other. So, it was just a bit too

8:01much at times.

8:03>> All right. So, I just dyed it jet black

8:05to see the quality on how it takes dye.

8:08Wow. Too good. Look at this. This is

8:12very nice. Oo.

8:16Bust down to Tiana. It's too nice, you

8:19guys. It's so nice to find quality hair.

8:23Oh, okay.

8:28I am annoyed. I've been waiting for my

8:30sample orders for literally 11 working

8:33business days. I told the factories,

8:35"This is unacceptable. Like, what's

8:37going on?" This one person, I was like,

8:39"Give me a refund." 11 working days.

8:43Sorry, we got a lot of orders. When am I

8:46supposed to do that? And I was like,

8:47"Show me like what's going on. How's the

8:49process?" They're like, "We can show you

8:50other orders." That's me right now. Call

8:54the police.

8:55This is where we started to really plan

8:57our trip to Asia to visit the factories

9:00and try to build a relationship with

9:02them. All right, guys. Look at this.

9:04I've never seen hair that did this.

9:06After a wash and deep conditioner, this

9:10is how you know it's not it's bad hair.

9:12It's damaged, overprocessed. So, it's I

9:15definitely can't sell this to you guys.

9:17Like, even the black hair does this.

9:21You see, I've never seen that. None of

9:23the hair that I've tested So this is the

9:25bottom of the barrel.

9:30See that? G.

9:36I am disappointed, but it is what it is.

9:40One closer. This wasn't even cheap.

9:44Look at the shedding.

9:47Yeah, it's going to be Gio's toys.

9:54You guys see the shedding?

10:07>> All right, guys. So, we just landed.

10:09It's time to go back to the hotel,

10:10freshen up, and get ready for some

10:12meetings. Let's go. I'm excited.

10:17[music]

10:26>> [music]

10:27>> Good morning. So, we just finished

10:29eating breakfast. We're going to get

10:31ready about to go to my first factory

10:33visit. I'm nervous. Really nervous. I

10:35don't know what to expect, but

10:37[screaming]

10:38let's go. Let's see what the day goes

10:41has to offer.

10:43>> Yes, let's go. I'm going to go change

10:45and let's go. I'm really excited because

10:47they're sending transportation and

10:49they're also going to cook us food which

10:51is really nice. They didn't have to, but

10:53I like those extra things. You know, if

10:55we're going to be working together, I

10:57want you to make me feel welcomed,

10:59especially like um I've never been here

11:01in Hanoi before, so it's nice to have

11:03that welcome from people that you're

11:05going to be, you know, working with

11:07potentially

11:08>> cuz we got a whole list. So tell me why

11:13I'm catching symptoms from your broken

11:16cry.

11:18The scratches in my throat

11:26like little short ones.

11:29>> Oh,

11:33it's flips it on top.

11:35>> Yeah, it turn it turns it around.

11:37>> Billing it. However long it takes, man.

11:39[music] I'll still be it. You know what

11:40I'm saying?

11:43>> It's a nice color. What color?

11:44Breathable.

11:48>> Wow.

11:57[music]

11:58>> We're on the way to our second hair

12:01vendor. So, we're going to see this one.

12:03The car is a little nicer. So, going to

12:06go see this.

12:13everything about

12:17you [music] make my sights grow.

12:24[music]

12:34We put some work [music] on the streets.

12:35We in overdrive saving 30% just to pay

12:39the fines. Only hit my phone if you need

12:41a [music] 35. We making business.

12:43>> This is one of the blondes. You see

12:45that? I don't want you guys to

12:46experience that when you put your hands

12:48to that. A lot of the blondes, it's hard

12:49to get the perfect blonde. A lot of the

12:52blondes out there, they're like gray and

12:54I don't like that. It's not warm and

12:57it's not nice to um a lot of skin tones

13:00unless you're on the lighter side. You

13:02see how like this vendor the coloring

13:04was really nice but it's just the hair

13:06quality is not good. So this vendor this

13:09is a little more expensive but you guys

13:11I think this is worth it. You can't tell

13:14good hair just by having it like this

13:16cuz straight off the package there's so

13:18many like hairs that I've gotten. I was

13:20like this is nice. I try it on tangles

13:22here gets matted up. You [snorts]

13:24see that? You can't even put your hands

13:26through this. You're going to go to the

13:27movies, guys, on a date and you know

13:30hands going to get you see that like

13:33this is a no. Like this is exactly what

13:36you don't want. You shouldn't have if

13:37you have hair that does this, you're

13:39just running your hands through that.

13:41That's not good, guys. It's a sign of

13:43low quality hair. Just because your hair

13:45can dye and lift to a high color,

13:48doesn't mean it's good quality hair.

13:50Lots of fillers and synthetic fibers in

13:52here. You see that? It's not supposed to

13:54get tangled up out there. There was this

13:56one hair vendor that I got hair from. It

13:59was colored hair blondes. I went to the

14:00gym. I ran. I put my fingers to it.

14:04Smooth. This. It's called bird's nest.

14:06It's not supposed to have that,

14:08especially for like hair quality like

14:10this. And we all know how much how

14:11expensive blonde hair is. So, it's like

14:13there's no reason for your hair to do

14:15this. Like absolutely no reason for the

14:18price that you pay for this type of

14:20hair. No. This is a big no no for me.

14:24And it's annoying. Like why is it? Look

14:26at that. I'm literally just running my

14:28hair through it and it sheds a lot. Like

14:31this is No. I wanted to do this one, but

14:35something told me to test it out and I'm

14:38happy I did. That's why it's good to

14:39test out. But this is the venue that we

14:41went to go see. We saw their factories,

14:44how they did hair. Very clean factory.

14:47And that's the hair to I was wearing at

14:49the gym I was running. No bird's nest,

14:53no tangles. Sometimes hair 100%

14:56entangles, you know, which is normal.

14:58Sometimes it sheds, but it's not

14:59supposed to be every single time you run

15:01through your hair to your hands to it,

15:03right? And it's supposed to be like

15:05supposed to be that that hard. So there

15:07sometimes you there are going to be

15:09tangles 100%. But it shouldn't be

15:12abnormal. But I'm super excited for

15:14this. This looks beautiful.

15:17So yeah, we're going to see. But I don't

15:19know if I'm going to do the dark roots.

15:20I do find it harsh and it's just it

15:23doesn't give that luxury feel. Maybe

15:26I'll do like a warmer tone, like a a

15:28more brown. So, we're going to keep

15:31testing it out. I need to get you guys

15:33the perfect hair, guys. My standards are

15:35up for you guys because gone are the

15:38days where we cry over the bundles we

15:39get that they're not good. We're going

15:41to get the perfect bundles. I wouldn't

15:43sell something I wouldn't wear. So, I'm

15:45putting this in mind, my whole hair

15:47brand with me as the customer and my

15:50standards. And my standards when it

15:52comes to hair are pretty high, maids.

15:54So, and I sweat. I work out. I'm the

15:57perfect candidates for this. And lace,

15:59too. The lace has to be perfect. It has

16:02to blend in. I'm darker skin tone. I

16:04have to think of people with lighter

16:06skin tone, women that don't sweat. Like

16:08I am the perfect candidate for that

16:10because unfortunately mates when it

16:12comes to all those I was dealt a rough

16:15hand with the sweating and stuff. My

16:17rating mates is very harsh and it has to

16:19be a 10 out of 10. I don't play around.

16:22>> Did you have to sacrifice anything in

16:24order to launch this business?

16:26>> I had to sacrifice a lot. uh being

16:29someone who I grew up in Canada, studied

16:32in Canada, I was a university student,

16:36uh working towards becoming a lawyer, I

16:38felt like

16:41the whole world that I had built for

16:43myself, the safety net and the comfort

16:46of being where I was, I set it all aside

16:49when I chose to take this risk to start

16:51this business. So my sacrifice was to me

16:55substantial. It was quite substantial

16:58and I wouldn't have done it any other

17:01way.

17:02I wouldn't have done it any other way

17:04because the security and the safety that

17:06I had built for myself was almost a

17:08shell. It wasn't

17:11what I truly wanted. And so once we

17:14started to do this, once we started

17:16working towards building this into what

17:19it's going to be, the dream that we had

17:22all been working towards started to come

17:24to life. So my sacrifice was sacrifice

17:28of leaving my family, sacrifice of

17:31leaving my friends, sacrifice of

17:33abandoning my studies. I dropped out of

17:35university in my third year. I had a

17:37good job lined up with the government. I

17:40uh like things were really progressing

17:42in my career, but I chose to take a

17:45risk. I bet I bet everything on what

17:48we're doing, on what we're building.

17:49Guys, we're between two manufacturers

17:51and I wanted to try the different tiers

17:54that one manufacturer had and I'm happy

17:56I did because look at this. What is

17:59this? Definitely can't use this. Can you

18:01imagine how annoying this would be? Ooh,

18:05thank god we're not using this. I cannot

18:07have you guys looking like this. A

18:09bird's nest. There's one that I'm really

18:12sure about and another one that came up

18:13and I'm really excited about. But after

18:15it's literally been it's almost a year

18:18now we've been testing hair and we

18:21finally found our manufacturer. This was

18:24a strong contender, but

18:28I'm tired. I'm pretty sure I know who

18:31I'm going to go with, so I'm excited for

18:33this one. It's freaking promising.

18:43>> [music]

18:49[music]

18:57>> We're on the way to go see the boxes,

18:59the showroom. I don't know. I'm a bit

19:02nervous yet excited. So, I'll keep you

19:05posted.

19:07Ain't nobody going to the mall. For me,

19:09the vision that I have, I want a high

19:12quality box. I just want you guys to

19:14have a nice experience when you open the

19:16box. And I don't just want some cheap

19:18material. Like, I actually want a good

19:20quality hair. So, I'm really going to

19:23invest in finding the right box with the

19:26right quality, the right materials. So,

19:30I'm excited to see what kind of material

19:32he has and what are we working with. I

19:34really hope you guys like the box. So,

19:39>> [music]

19:44>> We're looking at boxes.

19:48>> Okay. Yeah, like this. This is nice.

19:51Like that. But then we would have velvet

19:53inside. I like the material of this. And

19:57then the inside

19:59of this one like this. See how it's

20:03nice? The material here.

20:05And then I like it like

20:08>> where you can move it like this one like

20:10that cuz I haven't seen in the market

20:13anyone that has something like this and

20:15I want something different that people

20:17aren't doing. We haven't seen

20:19>> What was your first impressions after

20:21meeting with the box vendors?

20:23>> When we first went to go see the box, we

20:24had to figure out a bunch of different

20:26vendors to see what's available. We even

20:28sourced out the idea of actually getting

20:30the boxes overseas. So then we have to

20:32really compare what's more beneficial.

20:34Is it going to be to actually have the

20:36box close to us or we can actually go to

20:38the vendor ourselves? We can see the

20:40box. We can make the changes and it's

20:42going to be a lot faster than actually

20:44having to go all the way overseas or

20:46even place the order overseas by the

20:48time we get the box. We make some

20:50changes. It just it wasn't very

20:51beneficial. There is obviously the the

20:53premium that we had to pay to have them

20:55close to us, but it was definitely worth

20:57it. So then we finally found the vendor,

21:00a couple vendors to go see in person. We

21:01saw their shop. We saw how they make the

21:04box. We saw the samples that they had,

21:06which was major key for us cuz we want

21:08to see exactly what we're going to get,

21:10if they were able to deliver the type of

21:12box that we wanted. So when we got

21:14there, we were really pleased with the

21:16samples that we saw, the previous work

21:18that he did, and then the one that we

21:20were the most comfortable with is the

21:22one that we decided to go with. And then

21:23we had placed our first sample to see if

21:25he could match what we were really

21:27looking for.

21:27>> So, I just finished bleaching the hair

21:29right here. I'll show you guys. I'm a

21:32bit disappointed with this one because

21:34this and this are supposed to be the

21:37same color. I like the blonde on this

21:40one, but then this one is a bit too

21:44yellow.

21:46[sighs and gasps]

21:46So, I'm just very disappointed. And then

21:49the colors here as well. I just finished

21:51washing them. So, these ones are done.

21:55I feel like a a chemist. These ones are

21:58done. These bundles. This, you guys, and

22:02this one, they're supposed to be the

22:04same color, but clearly they're not. So,

22:08it's just like inconsistent colors with

22:11the the blends. This is our vendor

22:13comparing the color and the blend. And

22:15the hair. This is premium hair. Very,

22:19very nice. You see that? This what I'm

22:22talking about. When you get this, this

22:24is chubby hair and it's coarse. Nice and

22:27full. Not I know it's wet, but like when

22:30it's even when it's not wet, it's still

22:32very skinny. This is what is what I'm

22:36talking about. And I'm still testing the

22:38colors. So, I don't know if this color

22:39is going to be in the first drop. I'm

22:42not sure. But yeah, look how nice this

22:43blending is compared to the black one. I

22:46know it's wet, but the blend just goes

22:49seamlessly. You see where the dark root

22:52is compared to how far this one is up

22:55here? It goes to show how our

22:57manufacturer knows how to blend

22:59seamlessly. You see that? That nice

23:00ombre flows in compared to this one

23:03here. It's dark, but it's still a bit

23:06harsh into it. Super happy.

23:12>> All the hair here.

23:13>> Yeah. This is my number one contender

23:16right here. I like how you see how the

23:19closure is like nice and lightweight.

23:22See that? And lightweight. And this one

23:24here is thick. I don't like that. Like

23:26you thickure. Yeah. It's too thick. Too

23:29much hair.

23:30>> And then the color, like I was saying,

23:32the one I was washing, it's very uh

23:36deep, but sometimes that's nicer when

23:38you have it on the roots. So, we have

23:41that. This one is nice, but they don't

23:43listen to instruction. I told them to do

23:45the sewing here. When you find a a

23:48manufacturer, it's important to see if

23:50they have good communication. This is

23:52the closure. And also, it took a while

23:54to bleach. They're not bleach. So, that

23:56tells me that it's not 100% human hair,

24:00unfortunately.

24:02And then I did like the color. So, I'm

24:03going to have to get these colors

24:05obviously in my manufacturer, but the

24:08color is nice. The hair, you see these

24:11little flyaways like that? That's how

24:13you know they got some synthetic fibers

24:17in there. Then this color this one, it

24:20looks nothing like the picture that I

24:23wanted, but the hair is nice.

24:26Soft. It does get a bit dry, but it is

24:30what it is.

24:31>> What do you think of the colors?

24:33>> The colors are nice, but

24:35>> it's hard to Yeah. And it's hard to make

24:37a decision specifically based on colors

24:39because the texture of the hair betrays

24:42it.

24:43>> So it's like the big question is which

24:45one can consistently deliver the quality

24:49in terms of the actual hair cuz the

24:51color

24:52>> doesn't mean anything. It's

24:53>> the color doesn't mean much.

24:55>> But that's part of the game.

24:57>> But we already know I already tested and

25:00tried this hair here and I really liked

25:04it. is amazing.

25:06>> What do you think?

25:07>> Yeah, even the colors, you could tell

25:09that some of them are definitely better

25:11at having the blend for the ombre at the

25:14top. Like I think these ones fell short

25:18compared to the other ones, right? And

25:20then I mean it's hard to see in the

25:23video, but just having them in front of

25:25me, you can clearly tell some winners

25:27and some losers

25:28>> by the thickness, by the way when you

25:32run your hands, if it tangles, if it

25:35doesn't tangle, how some are supposed to

25:37be 100%, but they definitely look more

25:40synthetic, feel more synthetic.

25:42>> And even with the shedding already after

25:44a wash, like some of these like looking

25:46very, very nice. No shedding. And you

25:48see how having more of that natural look

25:51versus other ones

25:52>> like it's a red flag when it looks too

25:54perfect.

25:55>> If it looks too perfect, you've got to

25:57re re-evaluate the manufacturer.

26:00>> That's why Naka's been testing them out

26:02one by one to really see cuz the only

26:04way you see is when it's on you and you

26:06try it out for multiple weeks, washing

26:08it and seeing the shedding, styling it,

26:11putting product in it as well. We had a

26:14lot of different vendors, but we were

26:16really focused on one specific one, and

26:19that's the one we put all our eggs in

26:22one basket. But you never want to do

26:24that. So, we still decided to test other

26:27vendors and test other hairs, but at the

26:30end of the day, I feel like in the back

26:31of my mind, I always knew who we were

26:33going to go with. None of the other ones

26:35came close, and it was obvious we had

26:37the best one. So, I just washed some of

26:41my bundles that I got from this vendor.

26:44I'm not going to use. They are response

26:47is horrible. Customer service horrible.

26:49Look at the hair I wash is green. I've

26:52never seen that in my life. But on the

26:55bright side, at least they're all green.

26:58The bundles and even the closure. So,

27:00consistency, I guess. But yeah. So, what

27:02do you guys think of this? This is the

27:03secured vendor. This is the best hair

27:07quality I've ever gotten. It's soft.

27:09Like, I'm testing it, you guys. Look at

27:11this hair. I just glued it down here.

27:14I'm trying it. I got to test it out

27:16myself cuz you guys can't get trapped.

27:20But this is the best. Look, look at

27:23this. It's so nice. I slept in it. Like,

27:28oh, got so many compliments. All the

27:31single ladies you're about to get. I

27:34already know I'm kidding. [laughter]

27:36It's Look at this. Running my hair

27:38through it. No tangles. I washed it and

27:42look, guys. This is three bundles. Super

27:45light. Lightweight

27:48but full. Okay. But full.

27:52Nice. You have this. It doesn't even

27:53feel like you got any hair on your head.

28:02Naka had a good point too about the the

28:03closure for the box. Right. So, we're on

28:06the way right now. We're going to go see

28:09um the box manufacturer to get uh maybe

28:12samples and potentially just let him

28:14know what we're looking for. We went

28:15that first time. So, now it's the second

28:17time they're going to meet. We brought

28:18the samples so we can really measure the

28:21the dimensions and see basically just

28:24place the order for the for the samples.

28:26So that's going to be the next step.

28:29Right now we're on the way right there.

28:31>> Yeah. And I think the big question as

28:34we're going there is actually working

28:36out the logistics like how does all the

28:38hair fit in the box, you know, and also

28:41like the type of box. Like it all boils

28:43down to it's like a centimeters game

28:46with this type of thing, you know? So,

28:48I'm really trying to think about what

28:50kind of materials would look good, but

28:53also how do we fit everything inside of

28:56this actual thing. It's a small box.

28:58>> Yeah. And it's also like there's lots to

29:00think about, too, cuz it's not obviously

29:02there's the whole box about the design

29:04and like the quality and the the look

29:06that we're going for for this box that

29:08we want. Like we want to be very

29:09luxurious, want to be very quality and

29:12nice box, right? But it's also how does

29:14the hair go in the box? There's two

29:16aspects to this box design that we're

29:19trying to to the packaging design,

29:21right? We also need to make sure that

29:23the hair doesn't move. It stays fresh.

29:25It stays untangled throughout the

29:28shipment. You know, obviously we're

29:29going to ship worldwide basically. And

29:31we're going to have to take that into

29:32consideration that the pack is going to

29:34be moving.

29:35>> And then Nak had a good point too, like

29:37we can't even forget like we have the

29:38closures as well. So if people do buy

29:40closures to place the bundles, maybe we

29:43could have it a certain way, but then

29:44the closures on top of that, like we're

29:46going to have to figure it out. So we're

29:47going to talk to our guy here how what

29:49we can do, bring so maybe we'll have it

29:51like I don't make on top or something or

29:53>> but have it secure at the same time. And

29:56then yeah, the material make sure it's

29:57not staticky when the clients get the

30:00the shipment, right? The boxes.

30:02>> The insert also when we talked about

30:03that insert, the alternating method I

30:06think could really work if we have a

30:07nice insert in there. It's all a

30:09question of how well he's going to

30:10communicate what he has. And that's

30:12another thing like having a good vendor,

30:14having a good supplier, it's it's a

30:17major key in this thing because

30:19>> when you have someone who has really

30:21nice uh like what whether it's boxes or

30:23whatever, but they suck at

30:25communication, it all falls apart. We're

30:27really going to have to see how these

30:29things work out.

30:29>> Yeah, sampling is going to be key. It's

30:30going to be trial and error. Like we're

30:32going to get samples. It's not going to

30:33work out. Like the hair like it's

30:35getting really excited cuz we finally

30:37got the perfect hair. Like it's

30:39literally the best that we've seen

30:40throughout all this sampling, all this

30:42testing, everything that we've ran, the

30:44different orders that we got. It's been

30:46what? It's been almost a year now that

30:48we've been literally trying to find the

30:50perfect hair, which we finally found.

30:53So, it's really getting exciting now cuz

30:54we do have our manufacturer for the

30:56hair. And I might be biased, but I'm

30:59saying it's the best on the market.

31:01Like,

31:01>> it is the best on the market. There's

31:03nothing that we have seen that compares

31:04to this one. So, we're super excited.

31:06So, now it's like moving fast, you know,

31:07like we got the business registration.

31:09We got dealing with the customs to make

31:11sure that the shipments arrive. We got

31:13all the quality control that we're going

31:14to take into consideration. That's going

31:16to be the most important thing is to

31:18make sure that we touch every single

31:20bundle to make sure that we see it

31:21before it goes into the package and we

31:23package it and we make sure that

31:25everything is good to go, right? So, we

31:27really have a hands-on business to make

31:30no mistakes and to make no room for

31:33error. So, it's really getting exciting.

31:34You know, everything's working step by

31:36step. You know, the other thing too that

31:37we got to talk about is that,

31:39>> you know, Naka's been doing lots of

31:42beautiful installs, beautiful videos

31:44with her. So, a lot of people are

31:45wondering where she's getting her hair,

31:46right? So, now is the question. It's

31:47like, do we tag the handle of the IG of

31:51the company, you know, my chubby hair?

31:54Do we wait, you know, because we do have

31:57a waiting list, a pre-launch, like a

32:00insider list, right, that we're working

32:02on. So, it's like, when's the right time

32:03to introduce this list? Do we start now?

32:06But then we don't have the specific

32:08photos of the hair. So, it's like, do we

32:10leave it for pre-launch and, you know,

32:12we just sign up? It's a waiting list.

32:14Like, that's something to think about as

32:16well.

32:17>> Yeah. The timeline of everything. And

32:20the what I'm noticing is it's going

32:21fast. like we have our set date and

32:24we're moving so fast towards the date.

32:26Everything is starting to come together,

32:28but that final that final product of of

32:32you know like the website, the boxes,

32:34the experiencing of opening the hair.

32:36I'm glad that everybody's going to be

32:38able to see that process and know that

32:41this hair, there's a reason why it's the

32:44best, you know, like we're standing on

32:46our hair because because of that reason.

32:48Yeah. So, this is going to be exciting.

32:52And we don't want like we only want to

32:54sell. We only want people to have the

32:56best because it's a it's long term, you

32:57know. You don't want to spend money on a

32:59product or hair in this instance and

33:02then literally after like couple months

33:04it's no good. Like this, you can spend

33:06more, but you pay for what you get. It

33:08can last you years if you take care of

33:10it, right? So that's like the whole

33:11concept is that you don't want to keep

33:13spending on these hairs that you're not

33:15happy with, which was not as good. But

33:17anyways guys, we're on the road there,

33:19like an hour drive. So, catch you guys

33:21there. You know, we we out here working,

33:22guys. We out here going to places,

33:25>> doing what we got to do

33:27>> to get you the best. So,

33:28>> here we are.

33:29>> Catch you guys there.

33:30>> When someone opens that box for the

33:32first time, what do you want them to

33:33feel before even touching the hair?

33:35>> I just want people to be excited, you

33:37know, um to look how beautiful. And when

33:40you pick up the bundles, I want them to

33:42feel how nice and chubby and thick the

33:45bundle is. But honestly, just

33:46excitement. Um, you know, when you're

33:48about to get your hair done, that giddy,

33:51girly feelings that we get, that's what

33:52I want for all of us to feel when we

33:55open that box.

33:59These inserts like this

34:02or maybe have something like this at the

34:06top, you know, to hold the hair into

34:09place.

34:09>> I'll still be in. You know what I'm

34:10saying?

34:12Yo, [music]

34:14new year, new money, but it's the same

34:15old me. need the order. Don't come cheap

34:18before I get a motif. [music]

34:20>> We just sent the payment finally for the

34:22invoice after all this time. It's done.

34:26I'm super excited to see what the hair

34:28looks like. I guys, I'm just excited

34:31that things are moving and we're one

34:34step closer to the launch.

34:37It's been such a long journey. Honestly,

34:38it wasn't what I thought it would be. I

34:40thought it'd be smooth, but lots of

34:42downs.

34:43But it's all worth it. And starting a

34:46business is it's not for the weak is

34:49what I've learned.

34:50>> The moment it really got serious was a

34:53couple instances, but the main was when

34:55we placed the first bulk order. When we

34:57sent that wire transfer and placed the

34:59order, there was no going back. And when

35:02we placed the bulk order after that, we

35:05even picked things up even more.

35:14You'll be running on my mind thinking

35:16[music] about your five tonight.

35:18>> Okay, this is first sample. Tear is

35:20nice. Definitely not going to be the

35:22final sample. The feeling of it is uh

35:24the velvet is very nice. The color is

35:26very nice. The white big buff. Okay,

35:29going have to change these colors.

35:32Probably add something here. I'm going

35:35to change the inserts cuz the hair is

35:37going to be more secure.

35:39Not bad for the first sample. We're

35:41going to do lots of different drafts.

35:43What do you think?

35:45>> Lots of work to do.

35:46>> Yeah. Well, it's a good starting point.

35:50>> So, one idea just brainstorming here cuz

35:53the size of the box is quite big, you

35:55know, and

35:57>> it doesn't have the same effect. Maybe

35:59so maybe something, but to have another

36:01way to secure it without folding it cuz

36:03I think the issue is is the folding.

36:05Could have some type of inserts like

36:06this circular that you could kind of

36:08twirl it around and just change the

36:11inserts. Maybe have it like something

36:13like like this size or this size

36:16>> and have like some type of donut or

36:18insert that you could kind of put the

36:19hair around. That way if they have like

36:21two, it's like boom boom. If they have

36:22three, it's like 1, two, three, four.

36:25One, two, three, four. But the box stays

36:26the same. And like this size of box, I

36:29feel like what do you think is a good

36:30size?

36:30>> It's good. And I think because the fear

36:33of folding the hair, you unfurl the hair

36:35and it looks like it's been through it.

36:37The circular defeats that fear because

36:40then it's like it it presents it in a

36:42nice flush way.

36:43>> Now the challenge is also like the type

36:45like the the finish on the box,

36:47>> the texture.

36:48>> We're seeing all these boxes but

36:50>> like the size here like this is just

36:52like

36:52>> this is huge.

36:53>> A little bit crazy. Like look at this

36:54you know and the material too.

36:57>> It's like I can't even do it but

37:00>> huge. It looks I mean the color of the

37:03velvet is nice. Yeah, it definitely

37:04pops. But like half of this, you know,

37:07have it like this size. I think

37:10>> also like for shipping is going to be

37:12easier. Like to ship this, it's it's

37:14going to be

37:15>> it's a lot

37:16>> a journey, you know, a mission.

37:18>> The one thing I do like about this box

37:20though is that like the simplicity of it

37:22actually makes it look more like

37:23premium. It adds that feel because it

37:25doesn't have a lot. It's just when you

37:27actually receive it in the mail and you

37:28touch it and you're like,

37:29>> Exactly. Yeah, that was the idea too to

37:31have like

37:33monstrous box like a nice box voluminous

37:37>> voluminous voluminous

37:38>> voluminous box that's like you know

37:42quality so that was the idea this size

37:44but I I don't know it doesn't hit like I

37:46thought it would you know

37:47>> that maybe simplicity

37:49>> and then have something you know

37:51>> like a film to hold this and when you

37:53open the box you still see the product

37:55that you buy it still has a nice feeling

37:57to it versus having it in a bag. Yeah,

38:00>> like a lot of people just having the

38:01bag. Very simple. Nothing wrong with

38:03that, but just like we're trying to go

38:04for that wow effect, you know? We want

38:06to get that wow effect. I think

38:08>> that could be an idea.

38:09>> Yeah. Seeing the hair through the box, I

38:11think it's it does that. The benefit of

38:14the film, too, is it secures it.

38:16>> Exactly.

38:16>> So, I think like that's

38:17>> And you know, you have it around like

38:19this.

38:20>> It keeps it nice and secure.

38:22>> Yeah.

38:23>> Like this. So you can have three four

38:25you know you open it handwritten thank

38:27you card you know address to the person

38:29maybe so these are all ideas we're

38:32thinking the finishes you know having

38:33more probably [snorts] of a

38:36textured look like this you know more

38:39textured like this I think is more

38:41premium there's a cost but you know it

38:44is what it is

38:45>> that's the brand you know we don't cheap

38:47out we don't uh we always go premium so

38:50the box has to be that as well yeah have

38:53It's like like this, you know, that you

38:54can just change.

38:55>> There is no uh future where I'm not

38:58doing what we're doing today. There is

39:00no alternative. This is this is my life

39:05now.

39:05>> It's really that for me it's that part

39:08of business that it keeps you it's

39:10almost like keeps you addicted, you

39:12know, like the the part that never gets

39:14old is like looking through creating the

39:16boxes, creating the websites, like all

39:19the creative aspects that go into it.

39:22Like despite someone might say like,

39:24"Yeah, like I'm going to make this

39:25business. When it's done, it's done."

39:26Like those of us who love this love this

39:29part of the business, you know, like

39:30it's just

39:30>> creating the trial and error and like

39:33it's exciting cuz you you have ideas in

39:35your head, you put it into practice and

39:38then uh you get to see the result of it

39:40too, right? So we got the the box ideas

39:44said it'll be a couple days within a

39:46week.

39:46>> Wow.

39:47>> You get the next sample. So that's going

39:49to be the next step. Look at that sample

39:50to see. But, you know, every single

39:52sample, every time that you get it, it's

39:55going to be closer to the finished

39:56product. And true,

39:57>> it's not meant to be the first time.

39:59Like, it's going to be lots of failure

40:01before you arrive into something that

40:03looks like a finished product, right?

40:04Nothing, no one does it the first time.

40:06So, right, even it was still nicer, you

40:08know, we got the colors. Now, we got

40:10closer to the texture, the design. We

40:13saw things we like, we saw things we

40:14didn't like. It's all good news. It's

40:16all good news. Mhm.

40:17>> on the way back home. Now,

40:19>> I want when you guys open these boxes

40:22for that premium feel to hit you, you

40:24know, like that experience to open up.

40:26That's why, like you said, it can't be

40:28the first time.

40:29>> It has to be

40:30>> the third or fourth, the fifth, the

40:32sixth.

40:33>> So,

40:33>> it's going to be little tweaks every

40:35single time until we get the perfect

40:37one. Cuz

40:38>> that's what we want. We are seeking

40:39perfection. Like, it does seem we all

40:42seek perfection for these boxes, you

40:43know? It's not just a chubby hair. It's

40:45a chubby hair standard. the whole

40:46experience.

40:48>> Exactly.

40:48>> Opening the box, you know,

40:50>> hit those senses. So, that's what we're

40:52going for. Beautiful.

40:54>> Bold.

40:55>> That's never been done before. Something

40:57that no one's doing.

40:59>> We going to do it.

41:03>> Catch you guys.

41:05>> I didn't really like any of the

41:07material, the boxes that I saw. So, I

41:09felt a bit I don't know, helpless. But

41:12the way Dominic and Balumbo were

41:16explaining their vision, that kind of

41:17gave me hope. But at the beginning when

41:19I saw those boxes laid out, it just it

41:23made me realize we have a lot of work up

41:26ahead.

41:27>> But honestly, I'm not sure if we should

41:29launch on Monday,

41:32Friday,

41:34Saturday. I don't think Sunday.

41:36>> Sunday definitely not. But I think the

41:38days of the week like Monday, Tuesday,

41:40Wednesday are not good days regardless.

41:43>> Okay. So like were you thinking Friday

41:45or Saturday?

41:46>> Yeah, Friday, Saturday or just got an

41:49email.

41:49>> What the bad news?

41:52>> This kind of changes everything right

41:53now.

41:54>> Uh what happened?

41:56>> Is it bad news or good news?

41:58>> It's official. The business has been

42:00registered. They approved it

42:03and I applied for the bank account, the

42:06business bank account. So we should be

42:07here by the end of that date that's

42:09approved. So we got the business.

42:11>> We're registered. We're

42:13>> moving. We're moving.

42:16>> So once we get the bank account, we're

42:18going to register, I guess, with the

42:19payment processors,

42:20>> we can get that ball rolling. And then

42:22now that we have all the documents, all

42:24the business, we can send it to all the

42:25people to get those things going as

42:27well.

42:29>> So now we're going to have to call for

42:30the um they can make the commercial

42:33invoice on the the hair,

42:35>> right? So once we get the product, they

42:36can write all our information. They're

42:38going to need that. So then after I

42:40guess what we can start to do is call

42:42the um get the information cuz we got to

42:44actually like import it, right? So we're

42:46going to need to call probably the

42:47logistics company and see what we need

42:49all the permits and everything too. We

42:50can start to apply for that too. So

42:52>> feel like it's a lot.

42:54>> Yeah. But we already we already had a

42:56couple things lined up anyway. So I

42:57think it all kind of falls together

42:59especially with today

43:00>> like this is this is major

43:04>> discourage.

43:06Okay, good news.

43:08>> What is the chubby standard and why are

43:10you doing it? How did you come up with

43:11it? The chubby standard is a guarantee

43:15that every bundle you receive is

43:18inspected by hand, that it matches the

43:21batch of the hair, so it has tonal

43:24consistency, and it's logged before it's

43:27shipped so that every bundle you receive

43:30has been handled by us personally. So,

43:34the chubby standard is like our stamp of

43:36approval on every bundle before it goes

43:38into your hand. It's something that we

43:40noticed that there was a major gap in

43:43the industry. Many people are just

43:44pumping out kilos and tons of hair, but

43:47nobody is actually maintaining or even

43:50has a a quality control process. So when

43:54we saw that gap, we sort of stood on it

43:56and said we can we can we can do this,

43:59you know, we can make sure that

44:00everybody who buys hair from us buys

44:03confidence, buys assurance that the

44:07standard that we would like for

44:09ourselves is the standard that we offer

44:11to everybody else. So the chubby

44:13standard is our seal of approval on

44:16every single bundle. preparing the email

44:18list which insiders before placing a

44:21launch went live list you made it. I

44:24think that's nice.

44:25>> Mhm.

44:29[music]

44:34[music]

44:34>> All right, guys. We're on the way right

44:35now. We're going to go see the other

44:37sample that he got.

44:38>> Mhm.

44:39>> Pretty exciting. One step closer. Saw

44:41the video again. This won't be the one,

44:43but the idea is basically there.

44:47>> Yeah.

44:47>> So, we're about to go see make some

44:49changes.

44:50>> What it is there

44:51>> is there [music] to bless [singing] me

44:53when I sneeze when you're asleep. I see

44:55it whisper.

44:57>> Guys, this is the second box. Second

44:59sample. More of this idea here. But

45:02we're going to have to change this. Put

45:04more secure and different. But

45:08definitely better than the first one.

45:10Yes.

45:11>> Just finished.

45:13>> Every time we go, I always feel like

45:15we're one step closer. Like even though

45:18we don't finalize, it's like I the

45:20vision is refined more and more and

45:22more.

45:23>> Mhm. It's true. And yeah, it was like we

45:26did see the the video of the sample

45:27before, so we knew it wasn't going to be

45:29it, but you know, just explain the idea.

45:31And we actually got new ideas as we were

45:33there. So just explain the new ideas.

45:36It's just to finalize that piece in the

45:38middle to secure the hair. That is the

45:41main focus. So he'll later make another

45:43sample of that piece in the middle and

45:45then he said like within a couple hours

45:48we'll be able to see a new design of it.

45:50>> So excited to see that design as well.

45:52It's like we said like last time, was it

45:54last week? Couple weeks ago, there'll be

45:55a lot of different samples, a lot of

45:56failures, but it's always one step

45:58closer. So

45:59>> Exactly.

45:59>> Exciting stuff. Exciting stuff.

46:01>> Yeah.

46:02>> Can't wait to see the final result

46:03though. It's not meant to be one shot,

46:06one finish. It's not It's not meant to

46:07be like that. And that's the part about

46:09starting a business that's often times

46:12misunderstood that like it needs to all

46:14work out immediately or just flush

46:16through.

46:17>> That's not that's not a realistic image

46:19and often times it's not a good product

46:22if everything is just really really

46:24fast. So take your time.

46:27>> Take your time. That's what we're doing.

46:28>> A lot of people get discouraged. They'll

46:30they'll just quit right after a couple

46:31times it doesn't work out. But I mean

46:33that's that's normal, right? It's normal

46:34for it to take a lot of time for the

46:37final result. So let's go [music]

46:48[music]

46:49>> thank you cards.

46:50>> I think with the space at the bottom

46:52here is going to look nice because we

46:54can write the

46:57>> I got in the hair's ready. Oh my

47:01goodness.

47:02>> Wait, wait, wait. Let's look at it

47:03together.

47:06>> Videos.

47:07>> All of it. Like the the

47:10>> Look at it.

47:12>> Wait. Let's look at it.

47:13>> Yeah. Put it up. Put it up. Let's see.

47:21>> This is those shades.

47:25>> Look at this one here. This nice brown,

47:28the blonde.

47:30Ooh, look at that nice bash.

47:32Oh,

47:33>> that's what we do for the entire port.

47:36>> Mhm.

47:38>> That is so nice. The closure.

47:42Oh, look at this bra. Mhm.

47:45>> This one's beautiful. They're all nice.

47:48>> This one, too.

47:49>> I mean, it's not good to have favorites,

47:51but they look so

47:53>> This one is nice.

47:56It's kind of weird feeling like after

48:00all this time

48:01>> we finally get it.

48:03>> It's kind of surreal to be honest with

48:05you because it feels like we've been

48:06working towards this for so long like

48:08validated to finally like

48:10>> the hard work that we put in is actually

48:12>> No, I've never

48:14Okay, so we have to tell her to do the

48:16packing list. Let me let me I'll tell do

48:18the the packing list. You can send us a

48:20packing list and we can send that to the

48:21logistics.

48:22>> Yeah, they're going to get us the final

48:23quote and then we'll be able to see how

48:25much time we have.

48:27>> I'm going to finish up these cards.

48:31>> I feel like we compliment each other so

48:33well. I have my husband and then my

48:35brother and we're all best friend. It's

48:38so rare I find nowadays for your husband

48:40and your brother to get along or for

48:42like a trio. People say a trio is never

48:45a good thing, but in this case it really

48:47works. So, I'm just I feel so blessed

48:49that I have two amazing men alongside

48:53with me. And of course, you know, my son

48:55is a part of it, but he doesn't know it

48:57yet.

48:58>> They just got back to me, the logistics

48:59company. There's two of them that look

49:01decent.

49:02>> Okay. [clears throat]

49:03>> Yeah.

49:04>> So, I guess there's two options, too.

49:05Like, there's an option that is is a

49:06doortodoor, which they would basically

49:08go pick up directly from the office and

49:11basically

49:13do everything and bring it to us. we

49:15have it here delivered to us or there's

49:17just a clearance option which is

49:19basically like I guess we would arrange

49:21the shipment and once it gets to the

49:24airport the loading zone and then they

49:26would take care of clearing it through

49:28the customs

49:29>> and then in terms of of permits there's

49:32conflicting information online that we

49:34have to double check as well too. So

49:36we'll look at that

49:38>> but um the world do would probably be

49:40easier because it just be like they

49:42would just take care of everything.

49:44Yeah, but the I feel like door tod door

49:46too it's like

49:48we'd have to look into the pricing of

49:50that model too because I feel like if we

49:52did the other model more the clearance

49:55>> Mhm.

49:56>> it would give us more agency for the

49:58subsequent drops too like it would help

50:00us with the momentum as we're building.

50:02I think for the future probably

50:06like this one that we're going to choose

50:08to do might not be the one for the other

50:10ones,

50:11>> but I applied for the custom code so

50:12that takes about 2 days to get it. So,

50:14they should get back to us soon.

50:17>> Okay.

50:17>> And then

50:19>> she gave me a quote. I'm waiting for

50:20another quote from the other person. So

50:22then we could look at at both options

50:24and then we got that 10% the there's a

50:27VAT and then a customs fee as well. So,

50:29we're going to add on to that, too.

50:31Whatever the value is, 10%. So,

50:34>> but yeah, it's I mean, we're looking

50:36pretty good.

50:37>> I'm doing the clips right now.

50:39>> Every time there's a new update, my

50:42heart starts getting something else.

50:44Like,

50:44>> every time I get a text, it's like Yeah.

50:46Yeah. You think you got everything, but

50:48then, you know, you end up not getting

50:49everything. But it's what we expected.

50:52So,

50:52>> yeah. I think the fact that we we

50:54expected some things to go wrong tended

50:57to go wrong.

50:58>> Yeah. And they haven't gone wrong.

50:59That's that's what you know what I mean?

51:01We're towing a very fine line here.

51:03>> Yeah. So, let's keep working on this and

51:05then uh let me let me maybe uh call them

51:09and see what they say.

51:10>> Okay.

51:11>> And then this is where we had to go to

51:13the shipping company and we had to get

51:15all the information that we needed. We

51:16had to actually apply to get an account

51:18with the shipping company to be able to

51:20ship all the boxes. So, we just got the

51:23cards. They came in the packages and the

51:26tags. Let's see. Let's see. Looks nice.

51:30Is

51:30>> this the quality you wanted? That's

51:32nice.

51:33>> Well, to be honest with you, it kind of

51:35exceeded what I was saying.

51:36>> It's very nice.

51:38>> Oh, I love the girl.

51:41>> How nice this is.

51:43>> Okay. It's discreet. Then there's a

51:46space at the bottom. So, someone's going

51:48to write handwritten [clears throat]

51:50message

51:51>> to every single person.

51:53>> These are

51:54>> These are nice.

51:56>> The the texture is nice, too.

51:58>> Both sides.

52:00>> Quality.

52:01>> Okay. Okay. Supposed to be.

52:03>> This is not some cheap stuff from China.

52:05>> Are these the same color?

52:08>> No.

52:10>> They're supposed to be the same.

52:12>> Yeah.

52:13>> But it's still nice, though.

52:14>> Yeah. I kind of I don't know. I feel

52:17like I like this color though cuz

52:19>> I wouldn't like it if I was like that.

52:20It'd be a little

52:22>> It's Yeah, different color for different

52:24thing.

52:24>> I really like this. Very nice

52:26professional. Ooh, this is a nice card.

52:28>> Beautiful.

52:29>> Oo, look at chubby hair.

52:31>> Okay,

52:32>> well, it's getting real.

52:35>> The bundles are

52:36>> Yeah, this was so much trial and error

52:39for this guys.

52:41>> Yeah,

52:41>> it took lot.

52:44He did it.

52:45>> Finding the right person to do the cars

52:47exactly how he wanted.

52:48>> That was tough.

52:50>> Lots of time, but

52:51>> paid out. It paid out.

52:56[music]

53:01>> Super excited cuz now the box is done.

53:03We got the final sample. It's beautiful.

53:06Send us the videos. Is it what you

53:08expected? I think we worked so hard to

53:12make it what it was that it is exactly

53:14what I expected. Yeah,

53:16>> it's it it communicates that vibe like

53:19we were talking about like we didn't

53:21want something that came off as

53:23>> just kind of manufactured. You know, you

53:25guys are going to have a premium

53:27experience. So, I'm excited to see it.

53:29>> Yeah, me too.

53:30>> Yeah, we're going to see the He did the

53:32the He sent us the invoice, too. And

53:35then, oh, we actually got the Wait, the

53:39DHL just answered.

53:41>> Oh,

53:44what they say?

53:45>> We got the account.

53:46>> Okay.

53:47>> I can't open it cuz I'm driving.

53:49>> We [laughter] got the account, guys. So,

53:52that's super exciting. It's been a

53:54journey because uh so for for us because

53:56it's premium hair. It's real hair and

53:59it's been such a journey to get all the

54:00permits, all the certifications,

54:02everything that we need to actually

54:03bring the hair in. And because of that,

54:06there was a time we thought like it's

54:08not going to work out. Like I don't know

54:09what we're going to do, but it's like we

54:12have to pack up shop and it's just not

54:14going to work out because we kept

54:15running Roblox into Roblox into Roblox.

54:18>> But now it's so exciting because

54:20everything's going

54:20>> together. We're getting the account. We

54:23got the business account set up and it's

54:26it just it's it's great.

54:28>> And the account being set up is exciting

54:30because it it helps us deliver on our

54:32promise to everybody who's going to buy

54:35our hair. Like it's not just that you're

54:38buying premium hair, but it's going to

54:39come to you in a secure way. It's not

54:41going to be a whole bunch of hula hoops

54:43to jump over, you know? Like this is

54:45just another step.

54:47>> Another step.

54:48>> And it's not that that synthetic. It's

54:49real

54:50>> material, real hair that is it's harder,

54:53you know, like if you want to do things

54:54properly, it's definitely hard and

54:56there's a lot of things, but we're doing

54:58everything right and it's very exciting.

55:00And like the email list is going very

55:02well, too. We stealth launched it just

55:04to capture some demand to see how it's

55:06going to go, some feedback, and it's I

55:08think it was like 100% 20% now.

55:11>> 175% to be exact. It's pumping.

55:14>> It's pumping. So, we already got some

55:15people signing up, which is amazing to

55:17be honest. more than we expected cuz we

55:19didn't really announce it yet. So,

55:20>> it's super exciting to watch it already

55:22kind of have momentum already picking up

55:24>> and definitely recommend, you know, sign

55:26up to the wait list because we're doing

55:29a limited drop scarf model where we're

55:31only going to have every single shade

55:33once

55:33>> is what we decided to do. So, it makes

55:35it even more premium and it's going to

55:37be more exciting cuz every single shade

55:39is going to be special, right?

55:40>> So,

55:41>> and being on the weight list ensures

55:43that you know exactly what's going on.

55:45you have the updates exactly to your

55:47email. So, it just keeps you in the loop

55:50rather than, you know, checking up and

55:52waiting for social media posts or any

55:54type of thing like that.

55:55>> Um,

55:56>> and it's going to be before the launch.

55:57The chubby insiders are going to be the

55:59first to get notified. So, they're going

56:01to be the first access to be able to

56:03pick all the bundles and the blames that

56:05they want. And then when the public

56:06launches, like whatever is left will be

56:08left if there is anything left. I mean,

56:11based off of our data, we're

56:12anticipating selling out.

56:14>> Yeah. Yeah, fairly quickly. So,

56:16>> it's best it's best if you want to have

56:18access to the hair, get on the Chubby

56:20Insiders, join the Chubby Insiders. Make

56:24sure that you're keeping up to date

56:25because we're going to be letting you

56:26know when it's one one week out, 24

56:29hours out, and then when it's out. So,

56:32>> can we put a QR code?

56:33>> 100%.

56:34>> Full QR code somewhere here so you guys

56:36can join.

56:37>> And it's exciting, guys. Everything's

56:39falling into place, so it's moving on

56:41quickly. Very exciting, guys. So

56:43>> when the email list was launched, when

56:46we started telling people join the

56:48chubby insiders and we launched the

56:50email list, everything was built out and

56:52people started joining the email list.

56:54That's when it hit me that we're doing

56:56this because now people are like we're

56:58getting feedback from people. We're

57:00hearing um you know that they're excited

57:03like it's building. That's when it

57:04became real for me because I started

57:06seeing other people as excited as we

57:09were for this project.

57:14and like this. Pull it here for the

57:16closure underneath here.

57:20Make a couple changes, but it's good.

57:24Material very good.

57:26>> Did the numbers match what you first

57:28budgeted?

57:28>> Speaking about the numbers, it just

57:30definitely was not what we expected. For

57:33example, when we we were putting a lot

57:36of effort into the box, into the

57:38packaging, and just when we got the

57:40sample back, the final sample, we got

57:41the pricing for the boxes, and one

57:44single box ended up being over $35 US

57:47just for one box. So, the numbers

57:49definitely didn't go according to plan.

57:51But when you're trying to launch

57:52something very premium and when you have

57:54expectations and personal expectations

57:57of a product and you put your name and

57:59your yourself behind it, you don't want

58:02any room for error. So there is no

58:04compromise when it comes to cost or

58:06budgeting. It wasn't what we expected,

58:08but it's definitely something that we

58:10going to do regardless.

58:11>> Just sent it right now and just got

58:13picked up.

58:14>> Really?

58:15>> Finally.

58:16>> This is crazy.

58:18>> Finally.

58:19>> When is it supposed to get here? Monday

58:20or Tuesday?

58:22>> Um, the same

58:24>> cuz we check

58:26>> five to seven business days.

58:28>> Oh, sure. That's fast.

58:30>> I put notifications so we can get all

58:32the notifications here [clears throat]

58:34people.

58:36Picked up clearance events, custom

58:37clearance, exceptions, everything. We're

58:39going to get every single notification.

58:41>> Yeah. By text,

58:44>> text and email. I'm going set it up

58:45right here.

59:06This is crazy. At the HQ. At the HQ.

59:08Look at this big building. Would have

59:10been nice if uh would have been told I

59:12could just drive there for the parking

59:15instead of walking. It's okay. Nice. Get

59:18some raisin, you know.

59:27[music]

59:34Guys,

59:35I can't believe

59:38we have the package. There was so many

59:40times where literally thought this day

59:43would never happen. Like we I we all

59:46thought that at this point it's just I

59:49don't know what we're going to do. Just

59:50pack up shop. It's just not working out

59:52and there's so many roadblocks and ups

59:54and downs. And then all of a sudden at

59:57the last minute it just seems like

1:00:00everything fell into place. Like boom

1:00:02boom boom receive everything so fast. It

1:00:05was like no issues just going through

1:00:07the regular process.

1:00:13It's a surreal feeling to be honest. So

1:00:15excited to bring the products tonight

1:00:16just to show the team guys. It's going

1:00:17to be a surreal moment. It does help

1:00:20that we did so much research beforehand

1:00:22to ensure that we had everything went

1:00:24over the top. Called all the

1:00:26municipalities, called the custom,

1:00:28called the airport, called all these

1:00:30different people and other countries as

1:00:32well. We got the account and then

1:00:34everything fell into place. Like this is

1:00:36amazing, guys. It's such a nice feeling.

1:00:40So excited to show you guys as well. The

1:00:42hair just it's so beautiful, guys. Can't

1:00:45wait to show you. Let's go show the

1:00:46team.

1:00:47>> The hair is absolutely beautiful. The

1:00:49colors matched with everything we had

1:00:51envisioned. It's very thick. The weight

1:00:53is good. Um the color, everything is

1:00:56great.

1:00:59>> Okay,

1:01:00Santa's here.

1:01:04>> About that time.

1:01:06>> This is it. This is it.

1:01:07>> This is it. It's so crazy that it's

1:01:10here. I sold my car for this.

1:01:12>> Literally,

1:01:13>> I left everything behind for this right

1:01:15here for this moment.

1:01:17>> It's crazy.

1:01:18>> We're going to have to unbox.

1:01:20>> I'm itching to unbox.

1:01:22>> Yeah. Where's Na? Let's go. It was It

1:01:25was beautiful. Once we received the

1:01:26hair, this is where it gets real. This

1:01:29is where we're going to start to really

1:01:30ramp everything up and actually set a

1:01:32launch date. And with this launch date,

1:01:35this is where we start to get a

1:01:36photographer. We started to really ramp

1:01:38up on the marketing, on the social media

1:01:40aspect of it, and get everything ready,

1:01:42get all the images on the website, the

1:01:44proper images. We went back and forth

1:01:46multiple times to see what was what

1:01:48would look the best and what would

1:01:50showcase the quality of the hair the

1:01:52best.

1:01:53>> I don't even know. Look at that.

1:01:56>> That's the one me and Dominic picked,

1:01:57huh?

1:01:58>> This is what all our hard work was for.

1:02:00>> This is it right here. Oh my goodness.

1:02:04>> How nice this is.

1:02:06100% real human hair.

1:02:08>> No shedding.

1:02:09>> No shedding. No tangles.

1:02:11>> That's that real hair.

1:02:15>> I might just cry.

1:02:16>> Yeah.

1:02:18>> Oh, this is another one.

1:02:20>> Oh my goodness.

1:02:22This is beautiful.

1:02:24>> That is gorgeous.

1:02:26>> This is too nice.

1:02:29>> Okay. It is

1:02:31>> like a

1:02:32>> like a river of vanilla ice cream or

1:02:35something.

1:02:37[laughter]

1:02:43Beautiful. No shedding.

1:02:47Validated right now. Feels nice.

1:02:50>> Beautiful.

1:02:52>> Another one. Beautiful.

1:02:54>> Beautiful. The dark hints in there.

1:02:57Okay, Jill. You like it?

1:03:01Black hints in there.

1:03:04>> Whoa.

1:03:07>> Love the undertones.

1:03:10>> Look at the

1:03:14>> chocolate mocha in there.

1:03:17Oh, nice warm undertones.

1:03:22>> It's beautiful.

1:03:24You can't miss with any of these.

1:03:25Literally

1:03:26>> after much tribulation, we started to

1:03:30put together a lot of the back end of

1:03:31the business. We've completed that final

1:03:34step and we are preparing to launch.

1:03:37>> Here are 1 2 3 4 5 six shades.

1:03:42Absolutely beautiful. This right here is

1:03:46nightfall.

1:03:48As dark as it can be. You see that? Oh,

1:03:51what do I have on? Nightfall. But yeah,

1:03:55you guys. So beautiful jet black. No

1:04:00brassiness,

1:04:02pure darkness. And then this one here is

1:04:06hazelnut swirl. Look at this

1:04:09swirlyiness.

1:04:12We want like nice fun names. So I think

1:04:14that really relates to it. And this one

1:04:16is one of my favorites. I absolutely

1:04:19love this one. Cafe Ole. Ooh, look at

1:04:25this.

1:04:26Look at that color. Beautiful blend.

1:04:29Seamless.

1:04:31Beautiful. And then this one is

1:04:35Look at that beautiful brown golden.

1:04:39Beautiful

1:04:41highlights blended.

1:04:43You see that nice belly? And then we

1:04:46have salted caramel right here.

1:04:49A nice brown. I still wanted to have

1:04:52nice little blondes in all of them. So,

1:04:55each drop has a theme. And this one was

1:04:58beautiful blonde that anyone of any skin

1:05:01tone can rock. And then this one, French

1:05:04vanilla. You see that? This is for the

1:05:08girls

1:05:09that are you want the hair to speak for

1:05:12you when you walk in. French vanilla is

1:05:15that girl. One of my favorite colors.

1:05:17It's absolutely beautiful.

1:05:21Make sure you join the waiting list.

1:05:23This is where you will get a code and

1:05:25you get early access before it goes out

1:05:27to the public to go shopping. We might

1:05:30do um anyone everyone on the mailing

1:05:32list gets an hour before everyone or

1:05:34two. Just depends on how many people we

1:05:37have on the waiting list. It's very

1:05:39important that you guys go on the

1:05:40waiting list. Like you guys, it's the

1:05:42VIP access. So, we're going to have the

1:05:45QR code as well, but make sure to check

1:05:47out our Instagram as well. And we're so

1:05:50excited.

1:05:51>> For me personally, I think that there's

1:05:53a lot of misconception with people that

1:05:55look like me that wear colored hair. Um,

1:05:58even me, like when I wear hair like

1:05:59this, people are like, "Oh, you know,

1:06:01this color doesn't look nice with darker

1:06:02skinned people or certain people that

1:06:04look a certain way." So, you only see it

1:06:06with celebrities, you know, like

1:06:08Beyonce, um, Savannah James, like all

1:06:11these celebrities. I really wanted to

1:06:13redefine that and make it available for

1:06:15everyone. You shouldn't be limited to

1:06:17what you have on your hair or what you

1:06:20wear. So for me, I really wanted to

1:06:22represent girls that look like me, feel

1:06:24like me, or just anyone, you know, if

1:06:27you're different and then you always

1:06:28have people telling you, "Oh, this you

1:06:30shouldn't do this, this doesn't look

1:06:31nice on that." I didn't want that. I

1:06:33want to break those barriers. And also

1:06:35for my children, you know, I want to

1:06:36leave them behind a legacy because

1:06:38personally, I don't have that. My

1:06:40parents left Congo to come to Canada to

1:06:44build something better for us and I want

1:06:47to continue that with my own children

1:06:49and you know build generational wealth.

1:06:52Gio can take it over because I feel like

1:06:53he has been a part he's always there

1:06:55like when we everything we go he's a

1:06:58part of it and it's so nice to have my

1:07:00son be a part of it. My first baby I do

1:07:04it for my family and it's really nice to

1:07:07have my brother and my husband in here

1:07:08with me. So, it's like a family

1:07:10business. My dream is to eventually have

1:07:12my whole family, you know, my mom, my

1:07:14dad, [laughter]

1:07:15everyone working together. So, that

1:07:18would be amazing. That's honestly the

1:07:19goal.

1:07:20>> Hey guys, about here finishing the

1:07:22website. Look how nice this is. Got a

1:07:24couple shades here.

1:07:26Okay. Okay.

1:07:27>> Down here.

1:07:30>> Too nice.

1:07:32>> Zoom in on what the actual shade is.

1:07:35>> Okay. See the the beautiful part is that

1:07:38you don't need to go anywhere else to

1:07:40find your closure. Just throw it all up

1:07:42here. Add it to cart. We've got all the

1:07:45information that you need. It's hair

1:07:47care. More about the shade.

1:07:49We got a little bit information about

1:07:51when you expecting to get it. So, we're

1:07:54almost done building it, guys. And look,

1:07:56we got the closure as well too at the

1:07:58top. So, all the information is here.

1:08:03Okay. Beautiful. Beautiful.

1:08:08>> Too nice. It's looking nice.

1:08:11>> It's looking good.

1:08:13>> Make a couple changes and then it's

1:08:15going to be ready to go live.

1:08:17>> Yeah. And of course the chubby standard.

1:08:21>> What we stand by.

1:08:23>> At times it could get a little

1:08:24overwhelming. Nothing went according to

1:08:26plan. It was hectic. It was a bit

1:08:30stressful. But I think having a good

1:08:32team really helped me and it made me

1:08:34realize how much work gets put into all

1:08:38of this that we're doing. Guys, I'm so

1:08:43excited and happy and I'm sitting here,

1:08:45guys. We're launching literally in a few

1:08:48days. And I was just reflecting on how

1:08:50far I've come and I'm just getting

1:08:52emotional because I never shared this

1:08:54with anyone, but um for a little period

1:08:57of my life with um my and stuff. We did

1:09:01live in a shelter. Um it was hard

1:09:04actually. And then we lived in

1:09:06government housing. Um my mom struggled

1:09:10a lot, you know, paying rent. We didn't

1:09:12There's so many days going on where

1:09:15we didn't have food in the fridge and

1:09:18it's just

1:09:20it was really hard. So,

1:09:23you know, I know what it's like to

1:09:28um grow up and have anything and just be

1:09:32scared about, you know, what's going to

1:09:33happen the next day and stuff. And um so

1:09:37this is really important for me and my

1:09:39brother and of course Dominic, but it

1:09:41just it means a lot. And now that I'm a

1:09:42mom, you know, I look at Gio and I just

1:09:45look at my parents and how much they

1:09:47sacrifice. And my mom was almost my age,

1:09:50you know, when she came to Canada and

1:09:52she tried to do her best, which she

1:09:54really did. And I'm so grateful for my

1:09:57parents and like just my mom, how strong

1:09:59she is and how I look at her. And I want

1:10:02my son, you know, Gio, to be proud of

1:10:04me, to always look at me and be like,

1:10:05"Wow,

1:10:07mom works so hard." And so this is

1:10:10really important for me. And um I never

1:10:12want to be back in that position, you

1:10:15know, of not having anything and just

1:10:17going to bed so hungry. And um it's just

1:10:22something that was really hard and I'm

1:10:24so grateful at how far me and my brother

1:10:27have been and our relationship and just

1:10:30how everything and most importantly how

1:10:32God has been able to you know direct us

1:10:35and just all of us be together and um I

1:10:39was just thinking about my two brothers

1:10:41that passed away. It would have been

1:10:42nice for them to see this, you know, but

1:10:45um just to see this version of us of me

1:10:48and my brother how we are in this

1:10:50business that we're starting and um I'm

1:10:53just really excited and it really means

1:10:54a lot to me. So, I'm just here thinking

1:10:57and just grateful for God that um you

1:11:01know, we're here in this position and

1:11:03just Dominic and my brother, they mean

1:11:06so much to me and this hair business

1:11:08means a lot, you know. So,

1:11:10[sighs and gasps] I really really hope

1:11:12you guys enjoy it and when you see that

1:11:15how beautiful the quality of hair it is,

1:11:18you guys are just going to love it. I

1:11:21really hope and I know it because I put

1:11:23a lot of work into the things that I

1:11:25love and this hair business is my heart.

1:11:44[music]

1:11:48So everything's ready. We're literally

1:11:49about to launch, guys. cuz I find myself

1:11:51coming out here at night often recently

1:11:53just really trying to think is there

1:11:55anything that we're forgetting and we

1:11:56think of everything like what could go

1:11:58wrong you know just in case that we have

1:12:00to be prepared for every single

1:12:02scenario. I just love to look out like

1:12:04at the skyline like the tallest building

1:12:06in the world and just to think that this

1:12:08beautiful skyline all these buildings

1:12:10around the marina all this beautiful

1:12:14this was literally nothing like there

1:12:17was nothing here and everything was a

1:12:18vision. And it was a vision that got

1:12:20executed. People thought about it and it

1:12:21got built and just like that's basically

1:12:24what we're doing. We have a vision and

1:12:25we've been building it for basically

1:12:27it's it's about a year now and to see it

1:12:30come to fruition. If you have a good

1:12:31dream in life, you have to follow it.

1:12:33You have to chase it and just take the

1:12:36jump because the reward is always worth

1:12:39it. And if you don't try, you'll never

1:12:40know if it's going to succeed, right? So

1:12:44we're excited. We're excited to see

1:12:48everything, all the foods of our labor

1:12:49come to fruition, right? So

1:12:52yeah,

1:12:59look at this. We got the box, guys. Like

1:13:02about half the boxes we get in the other

1:13:03half box, you know, typical stuff.

1:13:05Nothing goes.

1:13:06>> Yeah. So this is not all the stock. They

1:13:09um they had some errors with the uh the

1:13:13inserts, so they had to redo them.

1:13:16>> But we got paper, we got most of the we

1:13:19got some of the boxes looking too nice.

1:13:22We got the beautiful pouches. Look at

1:13:24these pouches.

1:13:27>> They're just nice custom pouches.

1:13:30>> The pouch is very This is my favorite,

1:13:31the pouches. cuz like we thought of

1:13:34putting them in the pouches just so that

1:13:35you guys could have um something to put

1:13:37your hair in whenever um you're waiting

1:13:39to get your installs and then bring it

1:13:41around.

1:13:41>> Too nice.

1:13:42>> Tell the people where you got your hair

1:13:43from. My chubby hair

1:13:46>> of the box is

1:13:46>> box is really nice. I absolutely

1:13:48>> Is it what you thought at the beginning?

1:13:49I remember

1:13:50>> the beginning I had doubts. I was like

1:13:53>> it's been a journey.

1:13:54>> I don't know. But I love how beautiful

1:13:56the box is. And also you guys, I hope

1:13:57you guys keep the boxes and don't throw

1:13:59them away and collect them because every

1:14:01collection is going to be different.

1:14:03Every hair that we drop is going to be

1:14:06different limited edition. So, you know,

1:14:09hope you guys like the box. We Well,

1:14:11they worked hard on it.
