0:14learning a language can sometimes feel

0:16overwhelming there are so many things

0:18you have to focus on grammar

0:22vocabulary pronunciation the list goes

0:25on but if you focus on these six simple

0:28habits every single day I promise you

0:30you will see real progress I've seen so

0:33many students make huge improvements in

0:36their English just by following these

0:39six simple steps let's Dive Right into

0:42today's video and talk about the first

You need to speak more

0:44thing you need to do every day which is

0:47to speak yeah you need to speak English

0:51I know that sounds obvious but so many

0:53students spend hours studying grammar or

0:57reading

0:58textbooks and they forget to actually

1:00speak speaking is the number one most

1:03important thing you need to do if you

1:05want to become fluent you will never get

1:08comfortable speaking English if you

1:10don't practice regularly even if you're

1:13at home you can still practice try

1:15reading out loud or talking to yourself

1:18imagine you're having a conversation and

1:20respond to yourself it might feel a

1:22little strange at first but it's a great

1:25way to practice you can also use

1:28language exchange apps to to talk to

1:30other Learners or even to find friends

1:34who are willing and able to practice

1:36with you if you don't have anyone to

1:38talk to don't worry try speaking in

1:40front of a mirror look at yourself in

1:42the mirror and say things in English it

1:46will build your confidence and help you

1:48focus on your pronunciation and also

1:50your delivery next up set your phone and

Set your phone and computer to English

1:54your computer to English this might

1:56sound simple but it's a powerful way to

1:59immerse yourself

2:00in the language think about it your

2:02phone is something you use all the time

2:05why not take advantage of that time and

2:08learn English as well when you set your

2:11devices to English you start seeing

2:13English everywhere English is the first

2:15thing you see in the morning when you

2:17wake up and when you check your phone

2:19why not make that the start of your

2:21English practice as soon as you wake up

2:24in the morning plus you'll get used to

2:26everyday words and phrases that native

2:28speakers see

2:30and use you can also change the language

2:33settings in other apps for example if

2:36you're active on Instagram or Facebook

2:39or Twitter this is a great option follow

2:42English-speaking accounts you can follow

2:44me on Instagram or Tik Tok or Facebook

2:47my username is English at the ready but

2:49of course there are lots of celebrities

2:51or influencers who post in English now

2:55number three on our list is to listen to

2:58English and and I don't just mean by

Listen to English

3:01watching movies I mean Listening to

3:03English throughout the day even when

3:06you're not actively studying this is one

3:08of the best ways to improve your

3:10listening skills without even trying you

3:13can listen to podcasts to audio books or

3:16even my videos in the background while

3:19you're doing other things like cooking

3:22cleaning or maybe you're driving or

3:25commuting to work or school in the

3:26morning the key here is to be consistent

3:30the more you listen the more natural

3:32English will start to sound to you I

3:35recommend podcasts because they're often

3:38conversational so they can help you with

3:40real life English you can also listen to

3:43podcasts about topics you're interested

3:45in whether that's technology Sports

3:49travel or culture this way you're

3:51learning English in a way that's fun and

3:54it keeps you engaged now before we

3:56continue if you're enjoying today's

3:58video so far make make sure to leave a

4:02what you think your support means a lot

4:04to me and if you want to learn more

4:06about improving your English this year

4:08using just your computer your phone and

4:10the internet click the link in the

4:1730 minutes long and it will give you

4:20some valuable insights on how to take

4:22advantage of

4:24technology to learn English all right

4:27moving on to number four practice

4:30pronunciation in front of the mirror now

4:32I mentioned practicing speaking in front

4:35of the mirror but you should also focus

4:37on pronunciation English has quite a few

4:40sounds that might be very different from

4:42your native language for example the th

4:46sound the V sound or the W sound or even

Practice pronunciation in the mirror

4:50the difference between short and long

4:53vowel sounds for example ship and sheep

4:58ship and sheep they sound very similar

5:00but they're completely different with

5:02the word ship your mouth is closed and

5:06with the word sheep your mouth is

5:09stretched look in the mirror try saying

5:12these words and watch your mouth to see

5:14how it moves ship and sheep this is a

5:18great way to check and to improve your

5:21pronunciation you can also imitate

5:23native speakers watch videos movies or

5:27even my lessons here on YouTube and

5:30repeat what native speaker says look at

5:33how they're moving their mouth look at

5:34how they're stressing words look at how

5:36they're linking sounds together now

Journal every day

5:38number five is to journal every day not

5:41saying you need to write a novel but

5:44keeping a small Daily Journal in English

5:46can make a big difference every day try

5:50writing down what you did how you're

5:52feeling or what you're thinking all in

5:55English even if it's just one or two

5:57paragraphs this is going to go a long

5:59long way to helping you get used to

6:02expressing your thoughts on paper to

6:05structuring sentences and to using

6:08vocabulary in conversation practice

6:10writing things down even if it's just 5

6:13to 10 minutes every day you can write

6:15about your day what you ate for lunch or

6:18maybe if you had an interesting

6:20conversation and over time you'll be

6:22able to compare your writing from months

6:25ago with today and you'll see that your

6:28writing is slowly improving proving and

6:30that you're able to use new vocabulary

Speak with native speakers

6:34and last but not least if you can speak

6:37with a native English speaker I know

6:39this can sound intimidating for a lot of

6:41students but it's one of the fastest

6:43ways to improve your fluency it's okay

6:45to make mistakes native speakers make

6:48mistakes too so don't feel shy don't

6:50feel embarrassed now lots of people tell

6:52me Michael I don't have any native

6:54speakers to talk to well you can try

6:57language exchange apps there a lot lot

6:59of different apps out there that you can

7:02try where you speak their language I

7:05also recommend looking at Facebook

7:07groups especially for

7:09expats in your city there might be

7:12Americans Canadians Brits who have moved

7:14to your city who want to make new

7:17friends and who you can practice English

7:20with and of course if you want to take

7:22lessons with me and my team click the

7:24link in the description below to learn

7:26more about that just having real conver

7:29conversations with native speakers will

7:32really transform your English and it

7:34will force you to think faster in

7:37English and to become more confident so

7:39there you have it six simple things you

7:42can do every day to become fluent in

7:45English I know a lot of these tips sound

7:47obvious at first but remember it's the

7:50combination of several things that makes

7:53all the difference and it's about doing

7:55them every day it's about being

7:57consistent making these habits a part of

8:00your daily life start small but stay

8:03consistent little by little you'll see
