0:00I always think that it's important to be
0:02a resource to our patients and so the
0:04more that we Empower ourselves with
0:06knowledge the better off we are in the
0:09field and the bigger the asset we are in
0:11the field and so I would encourage each
0:13each of you to research the USDA MyPlate
0:17guidelines it has its own website it's
0:20here www.choosemyplate.gov
0:24and this is a great resource to be able
0:26to offer to our patients that helps with
0:29putting together the proper plate
0:31according to whatever that patient's
0:33diagnosis is or where their diet should
0:35be but it encourages healthy eating
0:38while not giving up all of the things
0:40that you love
0:41so it teaches us how to eat healthy how
0:44to balance out our calories throughout
0:46the day
0:48and again great great resource to be
0:50able to give to your patients uh if they
0:53do have a particular diet that they need
0:55to follow the body mass index chart is
0:58another resource that we use to help our
1:00patients understand where they may fit
1:02in in comparison to others when it comes
1:05to their height and their weight this is
1:08a chart that you would use and you would
1:11align the patient's height and you would
1:13align their weight and you would plot
1:15that weight and that height and it's
1:17going to plot somewhere Within These
1:20numbers here
1:21so for the healthy way the patient
1:24should thought right between 18.5 and
1:2624.9
1:28anyone underweight here is going to be
1:31the 18.5
1:33and overweight is considered the 25 to
1:3729.9 and then we go into the levels of

1:51comes to their health
