Intro

0:00So, I heard you like short, easy to

0:02understand, and straight to the point

0:03guide. Here is everything you need to

0:05know about the PvP ranger. I will only

0:08focus on the season 1 ranger build using

0:11the information currently available from

0:13Taiwan. Unfortunately, there isn't a

0:15huge amount of build variety in Ion 2.

0:18Most players of the same class will end

0:20up using very similar gear with the

0:23biggest differences coming from stats,

0:25skills, stigmas, and of course, the

0:27heavy RNG involved in rolling the stats

0:29you actually want. So, I won't waste

0:31your time explaining system that work

0:33pretty much the same for every class.

0:35Instead, I will just show you what you

0:37actually want for ranger. When it comes

PvP Gear

0:39to PvP gear, you basically have one main

0:42option, PvP gear purchased from the

0:45abyss shop using abyss points. Since

0:48heroic gear won't be available on global

0:50season 1, the PvP gear progression will

0:53consist of three tiers. Theus,

0:55centurion, and tribunus. The econos can

0:58be purchased with abyss points.

1:00Centurion requires a bestby points and

1:02silver medals, while tribunus requires

1:05abyss points and gold medals. For your

1:08early PvP setup, you will want to start

1:10with a full Dean set, except for the

1:12weapon. [music] For the weapon, I

1:14strongly believe the highest crafted PvE

1:17weapon is the better option for PvP. The

1:20interesting part about PvP gear is that

1:22you don't necessarily need to use a full

1:25set of the same tier. Each tier has its

1:27own set bonuses, and you can mix the

1:30three tiers to activate multiple set

1:32effects. So, Deconus is basically your

1:35starting point. You will use it while

1:37farming the metals needed to start

1:38upgrading into Centurion and Tribunus.

1:41For the final endame setup, the most

1:43optimal combination is eight tribunous

1:45armor pieces, five centurion

1:48accessories, and the crafted PVE weapon.

1:51This activates the eightpiece tribunal

1:53set effect and the five piece set

1:55effect. Keep in mind that getting to

1:57this point will take time because your

1:59progression is heavily gatekeeped by

2:01medals. So don't feel like you needed

2:03the final setup immediately. The Kanos

2:05is simply the starting point while you

2:07work towards the endame combination.

Stats

2:09Once you have your gear sorted, the next

2:11priority is rolling the important soul

2:13binding stats on each piece. The reason

2:16certain stats are prioritized on

2:18specific pieces is because soul binding

2:20roles are random, and you want to use

2:22each gear slot for the stats that are

2:25most valuable there. For your weapon and

2:26a guard, focus on weapon damage boost,

2:29combat speed, multi- hit chance, and

2:31might. For your helmet, the most

2:32important stat is incoming heal. On

2:35shoulders, look for critical damage

2:36boost. on chest damage boost, on gloves,

2:40combat speed. On legs and cloak, perfect

2:42chance or damage tolerance. And on

2:45boots, move speed. For the remaining

2:47slots, attack, critical hit, or useful

2:50defensive stats are good fillers. For

2:52accessories, you want to focus on your

2:54most important ranger skills. On both

2:57rings, prioritize your four most

2:59important active skills. And on both

3:01earrings, prioritize your four most

3:03important passive skills. And on the

3:05necklace, you can go for two active

3:07skills combined with the two offensive

3:09stats such as attack or critical hit.

3:11For your actual PvP stats, the priority

3:14changes compared to PvE. You don't want

3:17to blindly stack damage. Ranger benefits

3:20heavily from accuracy and evasion in

3:22PvP. While PvP specific offensive and

3:25defensive stats can become extremely

3:27valuable depending on your setup and

3:29what type of PvP you're doing. The exact

3:32value of each stat will depend on your

3:34current gear and the other progression

3:36systems you're using. So don't treat the

3:38priority as an absolute rule where one

3:41stat is always infinitely better than

3:43the other. And then we have mana stones.

3:45On every gear piece, you ideally want at

3:48least one strong offensive stat such as

3:50weapon damage boost. However, PvP gear

3:53also gives you access to PvP specific

3:56stats such as PvP accuracy, PvP block,

3:59PvP invasion, and PvP critical damage

4:02boost. These can be extremely valuable

4:05even when you only get them at green or

4:07blue tiers. So, don't automatically

4:09throw away a lower tier PvP stat just

4:12because it isn't yellow. For PvP, your

4:14mana stones are one of the places where

4:16you can specialize your build depending

4:18on what you actually need. And don't

4:20waste ridiculous amounts of resources

4:23trying to make every single mana stone

4:25perfect. One good role is good enough,

4:27especially early on. Now, let's move on

Active skills

4:29to the skills. Ranger has 12 active

4:32skills, and each skill has five

4:34specialties, but you can only use three

4:36of them at the time. The first three

4:38specialty slots unlock at skill level

4:40eight, while the fourth and fifth

4:42specialties unlock at levels 12 and 16.

4:45You obviously want to prioritize your

4:47important PvP skills first and leave the

4:50low value abilities for later. Starting

4:52with snipe. This is your leftclick skill

4:55and one of your main ways of restoring

4:57mana. For the specialties, you want plus

4:5950% multi-hit option, cooldown reduction

5:02for deadshot, and tempest arrow. Tempest

5:05shot is your white click skill and is an

5:07instant cast which makes it very easy to

5:10weave into your normal attacks. For PvP,

5:12you want to increase critical hit,

5:14increase damage when hitting fewer

5:16targets, and the knock back on critical

5:18hit effect. Snare shot applies slow to

5:21the target. For PvP, you want increased

5:24skill speed, the mobile version of the

5:26skill, and shackling arrow. Marking shot

5:29is extremely important because it

5:31applies your precision buff, giving you

5:33300 critical hit. For PvP, you want to

5:36increase perfect chance during the buff,

5:38knockback chance on hit, and the effect

5:41that allows you to ignore evasion and

5:43block and land as a critical hit. Drill

5:46dart can only be used after a critical

5:48hit, and also restores mana on critical

5:50hit. It applies bleed and reduces the

5:53targets incoming healing. For PvP, take

5:56increased absorb, multi-hit on hit, and

5:59the option that activates drill dart one

6:01additional time. Arrow scattershot is

6:04basically useless in PvP because it

6:06requires a staggered target and players

6:08cannot be staggered in the same way PvE

6:11bosses can. Gale arrow is much more

6:13important. It gives you the gale buff

6:15increasing your combat speed and PvE and

6:17PvP damage boost for 10 seconds. For

6:20specialties, take the mobile version,

6:22increase duration and reduce cooldown.

6:24Explosion trap is a situational PvP

6:27skill, so keep it at level eight and

6:29take the pool enemy specialty. It can be

6:31particularly useful in mass PVP when you

6:34want to group enemies together. Burst

6:36arrow can only be used against slowed or

6:38rooted targets. For PvP, take the mobile

6:41version, absorb, and multi- hit.

6:43Suppressing arrow can technically be

6:45useful in PvP, but the landing the stun

6:47on players can be difficult because of

6:49the status resistance, various buffs,

6:52and high evasion. Because of that, it

6:54isn't something you need to invest

6:56heavily into, although it can still be

6:58useful situationally. Deadshot is one of

7:01your most important damage abilities.

7:03It's a charge skill, meaning you want to

7:05hold it long enough to get the maximum

7:07damage. For PvP, take the mobile

7:09version, the effect that ignores block

7:12and evasion and the additional damage

7:14effect. And finally, the fight is your

7:16CC escape. For PvP, you want it at level

7:2012, so you can take the HP restoration

7:22specialty as well as the PvE and PvP

7:25damage tolerance effect. The important

7:28thing here is that you don't need to

7:30level every skill equally. Get your core

7:32damage, mobility, and utility skills up

7:35first and leave the low value abilities

7:37for later. The four main skills I'd

7:40prioritize pushing to level 20 first are

7:42Deadshot, drill dart, burst arrow, and

7:44gale arrow. And this is also why you

7:46can't simply copy the PVE ranger build

7:49into PVP. Some abilities that are low

7:52priority against bosses become a much

7:54more valuable against players because

7:56they provide mobility, control,

7:58survivability, or ways to deal with the

8:00defensive stats. The passive skills are

Passive skills

8:02much more important as a whole in PvP

8:05because you're not only trying to deal

8:07damage, you also need to survive long

8:09enough to actually deal it. Vigilant Eye

8:12increases your HP and evasion.

8:14Concentrated fire is still an important

8:16offensive passive because it gives you a

8:18chance to deal additional damage against

8:21targets affected by damage overtime

8:23effects which works nicely with rangers

8:25bleed and burn. Wind vigor increases

8:28your maximum stamina and gives you move

8:30speed when attacked. Focused eye is

8:32another important offensive passive

8:34because it increases accuracy, PvE and

8:37PvP damage boost as well as double hit.

8:40Hunter's resolve increases your critical

8:42damage boost. Unyielding resolve gives

8:45you impact resistance. Rooting eye has a

8:48chance to deal additional damage against

8:50slowed or rooted targets, which works

8:53naturally with the ranger's kit. Melee

8:55fire gives your attacks a chance to deal

8:57additional damage. Revitalization

9:00contract gives you CC resistance and

9:03Hunter Soul gives you another chance to

9:05deal damage when you land a critical

9:06hit. For PvP, don't blindly prioritize

9:09damage. Your offensive passives are

9:11obviously important, but HP, evasion, CC

9:14resistance, and impact resistance can be

9:17just as valuable depending on what

9:19you're fighting. Stigma skills are

Stigma skills

9:21extremely important because they can

9:22have a major impact on both your damage

9:24and survivability. For global, we will

9:27be limited to four stigma skills at a

9:29time with a maximum level of 20. Unlike

9:32active skills, stigma skills

9:34automatically gain their additional

9:35effects as you level them up with major

9:38upgrades coming at levels 5, 10, 15, and

9:4120. These upgrades take a lot of time

9:44and resources to unlock, so don't worry

9:46if you can't build the final setup

9:48immediately. For season 1 PVP ranger,

9:51your two core stigmas are Visel's

9:53authority and bow of blessing. Both are

9:56extremely important buffs. One increases

9:58your attack and perfect chance, while

10:00the other increases your critical hit

10:02and accuracy with their additional perks

10:05providing even more benefits. For the

10:07other two slots, you have several

10:09options depending on the type of PvP

10:11you're doing. If you want pure damage,

10:13use Griffin Arrow and Explosive Arrow.

10:16Griffin Arrow gives you additional burn

10:18damage over time, while explosive arrow

10:20benefits from targets that are slowed or

10:22rooted. If you want more utility and

10:24survivability, you can use Mother's

10:26Nature's Breath and Ambush Kick. If you

10:29are specifically trying to counter

10:31certain classes in 1 v one, illusory

10:34arrow and ceiling arrow can also be

10:36useful. So unlike PvE, there isn't one

10:39universal perfect four stigma setup for

10:41PvP. Your ideal setup depends heavily on

10:44whether you're doing mass PVP, small

10:46scale PvP, or 1 v one, as well as your

10:48own play style. Before we get into the

How to play ranger in PVP

10:50macro, there's one important thing to

10:52understand about ranger in PvP. You are

10:55not trying to stand still and unload

10:57your entire rotation like you would

10:59against a boss. Your biggest advantages

11:02are your range, mobility, and ability to

11:04control the enemy. You want to keep your

11:07distance, slow or route your target, use

11:10marking shots to set up your precision

11:11buff, and then land your dead shot

11:13during that window. At the same time,

11:15you need to save your defensive

11:16abilities for when the enemy actually

11:18commits on you. This is why PvP ranger

11:20is much more manual than PvE ranger. The

11:23macro can handle some of your basic

11:25damage skills, but you need to react to

11:27the player in front of you. If they are

11:29running away, use your mobility to stay

11:31on them. If they're trying to close the

11:32distance, use your slows, roots, and

11:35knockbacks. And if they finally get on

11:36top of you, that's when your defensive

11:38skills and CC escape become important.

Rotation & Macro

11:41Now that you understand how ranger is

11:42supposed to play, let's put everything

11:44together. Ranger PvP is basically 20%

11:47holding down the macro button and 80%

11:50manually clicking. Exactly how you

11:52arrange your keybinds is up to you, but

11:54I will show you the setup I'm using. On

11:56your right click slot, put a drill dart,

11:58gale arrow, and tempest shot. On the

12:00second slot, put snare shot and burst

12:03arrow. If you're using damage stigma

12:05such as griffin arrow, and explosive

12:07arrow, you can also put those there. If

12:09you're not using them, leave the slots

12:11empty. Put the dead shot on the third

12:12slot. Your stigma buffs, Visel's

12:14Authority and Bow of Blessing go on the

12:16fourth slot. Put marking shot on the

12:18fifth slot. And if you're using

12:20defensive stigma such as Mother Nature's

12:22Bread or Ambush Kick, put them in your

12:25remaining slots. Again, this depends on

12:27your PvP setup and play style. For the

12:30macro itself, put the drill dart first

12:32and snare second. The macro works by

12:35using the skills from the same slots as

12:37the abilities you put inside it. When

12:39one of those skills is on cooldown, it

12:41moves on and uses whichever available

12:43skill comes off cooldown first. The

12:45important difference compared to PvE is

12:47that this isn't your entire rotation.

12:50Think of it as a convenience macro for

12:52your basic damage skills while you

12:54manually react to what's happening

12:55around you. The manual part is your left

12:58click for mana regeneration, your

13:00initial buffs before the fight, marking

13:03shot and deadshot, defensive buffs and

13:05defensive skills later. The manual part

13:08is your left click for mana

13:09regeneration, your initial buffs before

13:11the fight, marking shot and deadshot,

13:13and defensive buffs and defensive

13:15skills. You want to manually use marking

13:18shot to apply and refresh your precision

13:20buff because its movement input can

13:22interfere with the macro. And

13:24immediately after using marking shot,

13:26you want to manually use Deadshot.

13:28Always use Deadshot inside your

13:29precision window. Marking shot gives you

13:31the precision buff. So these two

13:33abilities are basically linked together

13:35in your rotation. Your basic gameplay

13:37loop is activate your buffs, apply

13:39marking shot, use Deadshot, then hold

13:41your macro and left click. When marking

13:43shot comes back, refresh precision and

13:45use Deadshot again inside that window.

13:48Keep your other skills available for

13:50when you actually need them. In PvP, the

13:52other player is constantly moving,

13:54attacking, escaping, and using defensive

13:56abilities. So, you need to be ready to

13:58manually use your CC, mobility, and

14:00defensive tools at the right moment.

14:02Now, let's move on to Arcana. I'm not

Arcana

14:04going to explain how the arcana system

14:06works here because it works the same way

14:08for every class and I already have a

14:10separate guide covering it. For ranger,

14:12you're simply looking for the active and

14:13passive skills that contribute the most

14:15to your PvP damage, survivability, and

14:18utility. Prioritize your core ranger

14:20skills and the abilities you use

14:22constantly in PvP. Your most important

14:24skills are ultimately the ones you want

14:26to push toward level 20. Use your wings

14:29to fill the skill levels you're missing.

14:31And don't worry about making every

14:32single Arcana card perfect because the

14:35system is heavily RNG based. A strong

14:37overall setup is much more important

14:39than destroying all of your resources

14:41trying to get one perfect card. The same

Pet genus insight

14:44principle applies to pet and genus

14:46insight. I'm not going to explain how

14:47either system works because the

14:49mechanics are the same regardless of

14:51your class. For ranger, focus on the

14:53stats that directly improve both of your

14:55damage and survivability. Evasion and

14:58accuracy are particularly important for

15:00PvP, while critical hit, damage boost,

15:02critical damage, smite, and other

15:04offensive bonuses are also valuable when

15:06available. Defensive stats can also be

15:09worth taking depending on your build and

15:11the type of PvP you're doing. The

15:13important thing is to prioritize the

15:15high value stats first rather than

15:17trying to make every single role

15:19perfect. You don't need to wait for

15:21perfect RNG before progressing. For the

Daevanion

15:23Venant board, keep it simple. Prioritize

15:25the important offensive and PvP stats

15:28while also taking the ranger skills that

15:30are actually important of your PvP

15:32build. The general rule is to take the

15:34important orange nodes first, then blue

15:36nodes for active skills, followed by

15:38green nodes for important passive

15:40skills, and then white nodes for useful

15:42PvP stats. You don't need to perfectly

15:45copy one path if doing so forces you

15:47into bad stats. The important thing is

15:49that you are consistently moving towards

15:51useful stats and the ranger skills that

15:54actually contribute to your PP build.

Outro

15:56And this pretty much covers everything

15:57important. Ranger is probably one of the

15:59easiest classes to pick up in Iron 2.

16:02But that doesn't mean there's no depth

16:03to it. Once you understand how to use

16:05your range, mobility, CC, and precision

16:08window together, the class becomes

16:09extremely effective and really fun to

16:11play. If this guide helped you out,
