0:00moving into the female reproductive
0:02system and looking at the components for
0:04our females we have ovaries Fallopian
0:07tubes and uterus uh the ovaries located
0:11on the right and the left side there are
0:13two they're a pair of of oval-shaped
0:16organs that produce what's called OVA
0:19estrogen and the other female hormone
0:22progesterone
0:24they then link to What's called the
0:26fallopian tubes also a pair one on each
0:30side
0:31and this is where the eggs from the
0:34ovaries travel into the female uterus
0:37now the uterus here has a top two of
0:40this top here is called a fundus this
0:43area here is what would receive what
0:45would be a fertilized egg if there were
0:49an egg that was fertilized then we see
0:51the uterus start to prepare to house and
0:53grow the baby if not there isn't an egg
0:56that is fertilized the egg will kind of
0:59hang around here for fertilization that
1:02doesn't happen then the egg is then
1:04discharged through the vagina
1:06as the egg is discharged what we see on
1:10the outside for the female is the
1:11process of menstruation
1:13and that's the uterine lining is
1:16shedding itself there is no need for it
1:18there is no baby that is housing and so
1:21once a month the uterus will continue to
1:24shed the excess lining I'd also like to
1:27say as well that within the ovaries is
1:29where the eggs are housed
1:32um and every female is born with the
1:35amount of eggs that she will distribute
1:37uh through menstruation or through the
1:39cycle uh every month so even our babies
1:43they're they do are born with the eggs
1:45and the ovaries and while they're not
1:47going through the process of
1:49menstruation they are losing eggs every
1:51month uh not until the age of puberty
1:54does the body prepare start to prepare
1:56to house for babies and when that
1:59doesn't occur that's when you see the
2:01cycle of menstruation looking further
2:04into the anatomy of the female
2:06reproductive system of course you have
2:08the vagina
2:09and it's easier to see here the vagina
2:12here is this tubular structure connects
2:15the uterus to the outside of the body
2:19there's also the vulva and the vulva is
2:21the external portion of the vagina
2:25and it has two components the labia
2:28majora and the labia minora labia majora
2:32folds of skin that protect external
2:34female genitalia
2:36labia minora folds of skin uh within the
2:41labia majora so another uh another layer
2:45of protection there forms Hood over the
2:48clitoris and that would be this area
2:51here and lastly the clitoris sensitive
2:54tissue located anterior so in the front
2:58of the urethra also within the female
3:01reproductive system we consider it to be
3:03an accessory organ but within the breast
3:06females have mambray glands
3:09and those mammary glands have a primary
3:11responsibility of secreting milk when
3:15there is a baby
3:16structure of the mammary glands or
3:18structure of the breast consists of the
3:21nipple the areola and what's called
3:23alveolar glands and here within this
3:27picture it's showing you also there are
3:29lymph nodes and so as we discuss the
3:32lymphatic system we know that the
3:34lymphatic system works hand in hand with
3:36our immune system and oftentimes when
3:39there's a breast an infection within the
3:41breast you'll see these lymph nodes
3:43become inflamed
3:45and that's going to be the body's
3:47primary response to an infection in the
3:50body so here is the structure here the
3:52anatomy of the breast and as you can see
3:54the breast is mostly uh consists of
3:57fatty tissue all of this yellow here is
4:00adipose or fatty tissue
