0:00about 15 years ago I bought my first

0:02motorcycle and last week my son rode his

0:05first motorcycle see the thing about me

0:07is I absolutely love riding motorcycles

0:11and motorcycles for me at least in this

0:13family has been just a me thing but my

0:15son's reaction to his first time riding

0:17his own motorcycle I could tell that kid

0:19just fell in love immediately so I

0:21figured why not give some advice to

0:22people like my son who might be trying

0:24to get into motorcycles or just started

0:26riding motorcycles and my very first

0:28piece of advice is if you don't have

0:30your license just get your damn license

0:32you idiot

0:36foreign

0:37I'm not talking about your driver's

0:39license I'm talking about your

0:40endorsement that says you can legally

0:42ride a motorcycle this is my son's Honda

0:44Grom he owns it I don't own it I traded

0:47his Saron for this Grom but he's only 13

0:49and he doesn't even have his license

0:51this is also his truck and I get it I

0:53actually rode without my endorsement for

0:55a year I did have my driver's license

0:56and when I finally got pulled over the

0:58cop was pretty cool he gave me a ticket

0:59and he said look you ride this way I'll

1:01ride this way get your endorsement and

1:03this ticket will go away that was my

1:05first time ever getting pulled over on a

1:07motorcycle and luckily the guy that

1:09pulled me over was a motorcycle cop if

1:10you're out there mobbing dirty here's

1:12some things that could happen you could

1:13get hit and guess whose fault it would

1:15be yours because you didn't have an

1:16endorsement you weren't supposed to be

1:17out on a motorcycle anyway two you can

1:19get your motorcycle impounded if you run

1:21into the wrong cop three they could make

1:23it even harder for you to get a license

1:25and four it's just more stress on you so

1:27just go ahead and go get it riding

1:29motorcycles is also a great way to

1:30relieve stress but your motorcycle is

1:33not your therapist you may have heard

1:34people say two-wheel therapy or refer to

1:36ride getting his therapy listen to me

1:38when I say this your motorcycle is not

1:40your therapist if you're using the

1:42motorcycle as therapy when you're done

1:44riding all your issues will still be

1:45there go see a real therapist that said

1:47riding motorcycles is extremely

1:48therapeutic and if you're thinking about

1:50riding motorcycles or you're new to

1:51riding welcome to the first day of the

1:53rest of your life all right that was a

1:54little over dramatic

1:57all right cold start

2:01oh

2:14[Music]

2:16God dang

2:19sounds so good

2:22a copovitch

2:25so if you haven't bought a motorcycle

2:26yet here's one tip get the bike that you

2:29want from the beginning I'm not saying

2:31start on a thousand CC I'm not saying

2:33start on the 600 CC all I'm saying is if

2:36it's within your budget just start with

2:37the bike that you want in the first

2:39place it's your first bike you want to

2:40make the best memories you can with your

2:42first bike I know a lot of people that

2:44regret buying 300 CC they always tell me

2:46they wish they had just gone bigger but

2:48I know in some countries you can't get

2:50the bike that you actually want but if

2:52you do have to get a 300cc get the bike

2:54that you want that's a 300 CC

2:56you just want to make the best memories

2:58you can you want to love your motorcycle

3:00and if you don't love your motorcycle

3:02from the beginning it's going to be hard

3:03for you to fall in love with this sport

3:06when I got into riding there was only

3:08two choices for me zixer 600 or the

3:11Yamaha R6 two bikes I really really

3:13wanted and I ended up on one of them and

3:15I was extremely happy

3:22you're gonna drop your bike that's just

3:24that's just how it is there's no if ins

3:26or buts people who ride will tell you

3:28it's not if but when you drop your bike

3:30I dropped my bike a bunch of times

3:31sometimes it's something stupid like not

3:33having my kickstand down and one time I

3:35saw my buddy get his pants caught in the

3:37rear sets and he dropped his bike at the

3:39DMV that was hilarious laughed so

3:41hard bro remember there's a couple of

3:43hotties that's why he was checking out

3:45some women at the DMV because he was

3:47pulling up that was so funny bro I

3:51laughed at him so hard holy cow so

3:53here's something that I learned the hard

3:54way my first Real Crash happened the

3:57first year I was riding and I was

3:58wearing a t-shirt and jeans I was doing

4:01a wheelie down the road

4:0312 o'clock did and I got really really

4:05bad Road Rash I didn't go to the

4:07hospital and this was also the same Year

4:09my son was born and I felt like crap

4:11because I couldn't pick him up out of

4:12his crib my wife had really bad labor

4:14and I made things difficult for her for

4:16like a week very selfish thing to do

4:19just rock proper gear I mean like if you

4:23don't want to wear the pants at least do

4:24jacket helmet and gloves minimum please

4:28do yourself a favor if I'm just mobbing

4:29around town

4:31I shouldn't be rocking these Dickies but

4:33it's just been cold and my suits they're

4:36not warm at all man I'm trying to be I'm

4:38trying to be warm making these videos

4:39for you guys but typically in the

4:40summertime you won't see me without a

4:42full suit period just is what it is I've

4:44crashed so many times with a suit and so

4:47many times without a suit every time I

4:49crashed in my suit I got up and I walked

4:52away every time I'm crashed without my

4:55suit

4:56I was hurt I'm telling you every single

4:59time my advice to you full suit

5:02you already know the bare minimum let's

5:04move on

5:08oh I like his hat if you're one of

5:12the lucky few who got into motorcycle

5:13riding because of your friends that's

5:15dope man when I started motorcycle

5:16riding I didn't have friends that rode

5:18motorcycles I had to go find friends

5:21that rode motorcycles how did I do that

5:23well I kind of just rode around until I

5:25found bikers

5:26Facebook groups wasn't a big thing back

5:29then in fact the people that I started

5:31riding with we started the original Reno

5:34riders in Nevada

5:38I think I'm still like an admin of that

5:40page my friend still owns the page we

5:43never really post on it every now and

5:45then like we'll get like new members

5:47it's pretty interesting but yes if you

5:49don't have friends that ride go make

5:51some friends I ride make friends with

5:53everybody be kind be polite be courteous

5:56be generous you know if somebody wants

5:59to ride your bike and you got full

6:00coverage and you know you don't care

6:02about them dropping it let them ride it

6:04I let people ride my bike all the time

6:05it's how you build relationships with

6:07these people and kind of get to know

6:08these people people right you'll start

6:09to realize how small the motorcycle

6:11Community is but it's also very large

6:13depending on the city that you live in

6:14and through that broad network of

6:16friends you'll find lifelong friends I'm

6:18talking about the people that you relate

6:20with even if they didn't own a

6:21motorcycle the plus is you guys met

6:24through motorcycle riding and now you

6:26end up doing a lot of things together

6:28besides just motorcycle riding some of

6:30my best friends came from motorcycle

6:31riding and you'll run into people you

6:33don't like in the motorcycle community

6:34and that's okay too it's like life right

6:36it's like you don't really have to be

6:38friends with everybody I think there's

6:39that common misconception that just

6:42because you ride a motorcycle we can be

6:43friends no that's not the case if you

6:46ride a motorcycle I respect you because

6:48you ride a motorcycle we share the same

6:51passion same Hobbies but I may not

6:53relate to you so it's going to be

6:54difficult for me to want to go ride with

6:56you or be friends with you that's just

6:58all it is try not to spread hate we only

7:00get one life

7:01let's make the best of it

7:03all right now you've made friends and if

7:06you ride sport bikes I highly suggest

7:08you go do a track day but don't do it

7:10alone

7:11go do a track day with your friends get

7:13some instruction from real instructors

7:15don't get instruction from eraser unless

7:18they're a racer who's also an instructor

7:20don't get advice from the racer at two

7:23wheel Tuesday

7:23[Laughter]

7:27not that what they're telling you is bad

7:29advice they probably have some

7:30experience and they know a thing or two

7:32about riding motorcycles the thing about

7:34Racers is they're very competitive

7:35that's why they race and any advice they

7:37give you you have to take it with a

7:38grain of salt because most of the times

7:40they don't have teaching in mind when

7:42they're given advice most Racers

7:43especially the amateur ones when they're

7:45given advice they're just trying to let

7:47you know that they know more than

7:48everybody else in the room that's just

7:50how it is it's the nature of being a

7:53competitive athlete

7:55go do a track day and get some riding

7:58experience and writing instruction from

8:00a real instructor

8:03this next one's pretty obvious get as

8:05much seat time as possible try to ride

8:08on your bike as much as possible get all

8:10the groceries down your bike experience

8:12every aspect of riding motorcycles do a

8:15long ride do like a 12 hour motorcycle

8:18ride go to the Canyons go to the beach

8:21go to every freaking two-wheel Tuesday

8:23you can go enjoy the out of your

8:27motorcycle by first couple years of

8:28riding is the best riding of my life I

8:31knew Jack squat I thought it was the

8:33fastest thing on earth I thought

8:34motorcycles would get girls

8:36[Laughter]

8:37that was cool man I was young and dumb

8:39but I had a lot of fun okay and that's

8:42part of riding motorcycles especially in

8:45the beginning people are gonna call you

8:46squid because you probably are you're

8:48probably rocking an icon vest nothing

8:50wrong with that you're probably gonna do

8:52a lot of straight line racing again

8:54nothing wrong with that I already said

8:56you're probably gonna crash nothing

8:57wrong with that as long as you're fully

8:59suited or have some sort of usable gear

9:02an icon vest is Not Gonna Save Your Skin

9:04go do some wheelies if that's your thing

9:07go be a freaking hooligan man you only

9:09live once you're not gonna hurt anybody

9:11but yourself riding a motorcycle but be

9:14very conscious of this next thing your

9:16ego keep your ego in check

9:19make sure when you're out there having

9:20fun don't forget the name of the game

9:22which is to make it back home in one

9:24piece all right

9:28what's this guy doing

9:31price bro I wasn't about to have him run

9:33in front of me bro you freaking

9:35crackhead

9:37oh my god dude Tacoma never fails man

9:41Tacoma

9:42fails

9:44something that I wish I knew when I

9:47started riding motorcycles is there's

9:49always going to be somebody faster than

9:50you there's always going to be somebody

9:51with a faster bike there's always going

9:53to be somebody way more skilled than you

9:58you're better off just riding your own

10:00ride that's got to be one of the best

10:02quotes from a motorcycle rider but

10:06you'll hear ride your own damn ride

10:09your only competition is yourself quit

10:12competing with other people

10:14stay in your lane ego is the biggest

10:16killer of motorcycle riders I promise

10:18you that

10:20[Applause]

10:24thumbnail

10:25oh yeah our appreciation stops man

10:30you guys know the bridge

10:32you know the bridge

10:34because somebody said that's the boob of

10:37Tacoma that's hilarious Tacoma Dome look

10:40at this

10:41look at this thing man

10:44so beautiful I love it I love riding

10:47motorcycles it's my passion it's

10:49addicting this thing becomes a drug 15

10:51years of this man 15 years of my life

10:55doing this it's crazy there's times

10:58where I'm like you know what this is the

10:59last year I'm not doing this anymore

11:00though

11:02huh but then there's times where it's

11:04like dang

11:05I can't not see myself not writing

11:09that makes sense

11:10[Laughter]

11:13oh man I love this bike I love all bikes

11:17that's so fun let's see if there's any

11:19oil dripping ah it doesn't look like it

11:24I wonder if like the oil that was like

11:26on here was from the little cover I

11:29haven't seen any oil dripping in a while

11:32I still don't but look at that beautiful

11:34gold chain man gee whiz I love it I love

11:38this bike speaking of chain

11:40keep up on your maintenance now I'm not

11:43saying you gotta buy the best race oil a

11:46lot of people will swear on 300 V it's a

11:49very expensive oil I think it's like

11:50over a hundred dollars for like a jug of

11:53that stuff I put it in my bags

11:56but when you're first riding you're

11:57first starting off man I think I was

11:59putting like Rotella T6 in my R6 for

12:02like ever dude forever

12:04I was using T6 for a while dude I was

12:07broke man but being broke is no excuse

12:10okay here's some things I wouldn't skimp

12:12on tires definitely get the best tires

12:16that you can afford I made a tire video

12:18If you're looking for like longevity or

12:20stickiness or track day go check it out

12:22find a company that you like that

12:25manufactures great tires I really love

12:27Pirelli and I rock Pirelli all the time

12:30now but Pirelli is also a very expensive

12:33Tire Company and if you can't afford 500

12:35in tires every year you might want to

12:38research some other companies there's a

12:39lot of great companies out there but for

12:41me personally I want to trust the tires

12:43that I'm riding and sometimes that means

12:45spending a little bit more money so yeah

12:47save some money for those kinds of

12:48expenses or maintenance if you know your

12:50tires are old and they're showing wire

12:52just don't ride man just don't ride just

12:55save up some money

12:57sell a couple things that you're not

12:58using in your house for me that's like a

13:01million things and make sure your bike

13:02is in good shape don't ride with leaking

13:05fork oil don't ride with terrible brakes

13:07don't ride with a shaking head don't put

13:11yourself in a dangerous situation at the

13:13sake of a few minutes of fun man

13:15motorcycles are not going anywhere this

13:18is not something you should rush and the

13:19value of a motorcycle should be measured

13:21and how big your smile is if you're

13:24having fun on a thousand dollar Suzuki

13:26Gixxer 600 that you bought that was

13:28wrecked and you rebuilt that's all that

13:30matters man the ego stroking

13:34and the look at me I ride a twenty

13:37thousand dollar Superbike BS forget

13:39about that I don't care if you ride a

13:41Honda Grom or if your thing is like

13:42those three-wheeled spider bikes trikes

13:46what matters the most is how much you're

13:48having fun that's it motorcycles have

13:50been a part of my life for about 15

13:52years making motovlogs has made it

13:54really really fun again as you can see I

13:56pretty much ride by myself these days

14:01and I talk to myself inside of a helmet

14:04but honestly I don't care man I've been

14:06through all those phases of motorcycle

14:08riding I was even a founder of a

14:10motorcycle club did that for about 10

14:11years I'm not a part of that life

14:13anymore but I had a ton of fun while it

14:15was fun

14:18when it became too political I just kind

14:21of stepped away some of those guys I

14:23still consider family and we were

14:24friends before the club we'll be friends

14:26after the club as well

14:28God man I love this bike let's go get

14:30coffee

14:34oh

14:35you guys want some revs I love revving

14:38on this bridge because there's nobody

14:39around

14:49yeah boy riding down this hill is

14:53always so sketchy

14:56[Music]

15:10boom

15:17after a few years you might get bored of

15:19riding motorcycles and you may think

15:21it's time to quit personally I think you

15:23should sell your motorcycle if that's

15:24the case here's why you won't know what

15:26it's like to not own a motorcycle after

15:28riding a motorcycle for so long until

15:30you don't own a motorcycle anymore

15:33and if you find yourself feeling like

15:35dang I want to get another motorcycle

15:37that means it wasn't time for you to

15:39stop riding motorcycles yet some people

15:41quit riding motorcycles way too early

15:43and I think that's a shame man I think

15:45you shouldn't quit unless you know for

15:47sure that you're done life happens kids

15:49marriage you might have gotten hurt it's

15:51not a big deal a lot of my friends have

15:53quit riding motorcycles it's a very

15:54dangerous sport it's a very dangerous

15:56hobby there's absolutely nothing wrong

15:58with experiencing it for a little bit

16:00and then saying you know what that was

16:02fun but I'm done yeah coffee time

16:05no

16:07that closed I guess I'll just make

16:09coffee at home

16:10now I'm at that point in my riding

16:13career that I want to try other

16:15motorcycles now I got the prom again I

16:18still have the Ninja 650 that I need to

16:20finish up and part of me really wants to

16:22try the Toronto don't do it don't do it

16:26the thing with the timono is it's pretty

16:29much the same exact bike as this

16:30obviously has a different transmission

16:32gear ratio so I could to save money and

16:36time just take the tawano top triple

16:39yolk take the Toronto handlebars and put

16:41them right on this baby

16:45essentially that is what a Toronto is

16:47it's an rsv4 with handlebars and I know

16:49naked bikes are known for torque

16:53but this is an rsv4

16:55I got all the torque I need for the

16:57streets

17:00[Laughter]

17:04just uncomfortable crouching down you

17:06know doing this for so long on these

17:08types of bikes

17:10it's very taxing on your body and you'll

17:12notice usually it's a lot of old people

17:15riding naked bikes like me

17:18it's very rare to find a young person on

17:21a hyper naked I'm not saying they're not

17:23out there I'm just saying there's not a

17:25lot of y'all I would say very early on

17:27to try many different styles of

17:29motorcycles but I think when you're

17:31young you're just kind of like nope I'm

17:32just gonna ride these or whatever these

17:35might be for me it was super sports and

17:37Superbikes that's just my

17:39hard-headedness though it might be

17:40different for y'all if you have the

17:42ability to try out all kinds of

17:44motorcycles something I've never tried

17:45and I've always wanted to try is riding

17:47a dirt bike in the woods but then I rode

17:50my son on in the woods and I realized I

17:51don't like getting dirty

17:56so the dirt bike life might not be for

17:58me but a true Supermoto you guys know

18:00I've been wanting a DRZ the goals and

18:02plans man goals and plans how did it

18:05feel to ride your first motorcycle and

18:07what did it feel like

18:10like I was sitting down

18:14I didn't feel any different

18:15like how did you like it it was good

18:17there was no like Epiphany no not really

18:21dang this is what I want to do

18:24okay I remember the first time I rode my

18:27bike I learned motorcycles on YouTube

18:30and then when I went to go buy the bike

18:32I picked up the bike from the dude's

18:33house

18:34and actually that was the very first

18:36time I rode a super sport

18:39that was the first time I rode a real

18:41motorcycle and I think I rode it home in

18:43like first gear or first or second gear

18:45luckily he didn't live that far from my

18:47house my mom followed me home and then

18:49my first day of actually riding by

18:51myself I was like damn this is so much

18:55fun I can see myself doing this forever

19:00[Music]

19:04and of course 15 years later we're still

19:06doing it in that same man

19:11foreign

19:13that being said here's my last bit of

19:16advice don't forget where you came from

19:17man when you've been riding as long as I

19:19have help these new kids out I'm not

19:21saying don't call them squids or give

19:22them I'm just saying give them some

19:24advice and some life lessons that you

19:26learned while you've been riding

19:27motorcycles for this long oh my God

19:29these kids can be annoying I get it but

19:32they're just getting shut up bro but

19:34they're just getting started give them

19:36as much advice as you can and show them

19:37some love we got enough hate in this

19:39world let's keep the two-wheel life as

19:40positive as we can I love you guys yo we
