0:00If an address is missing from Google
0:01Maps, every time you order something
0:03there, the delivery guy ends up at the
0:05wrong door. Then it's call after call,
0:08back and forth before your package
0:10finally shows up. You can fix that
0:12yourself in about a minute. Here's how.
0:14Start by opening the Google Maps app.
0:17Look at the bar along the bottom of your
0:19screen. You'll see a few tabs like
0:22explore, you, and contribute. Tap on
0:26contribute. That opens your contribution
0:28screen. Your name's up top with a row of
0:31options right underneath. Tap add place,
0:34the one on the left.
0:36On some phones it says add a missing
0:38place. Same thing. Now you'll get a
0:41short form to fill in. Start with the
0:43name. Type it exactly as it should
0:45appear on the map. Next, pick a
0:47category, restaurant, cafe, shop,
0:50whatever fits. This is how people find
0:52it when they search, so choose the
0:54closest match. Then the important part,
0:57the location. You'll see a map with a
0:59pin.
1:00Drag that pin right onto the entrance,
1:02not the middle of the building, the
1:04actual door people walk up to. That pin
1:06is the exact spot everyone's directions
1:09lead to. So take a second to nail it.
1:11Add a photo in the form here. It's
1:13optional, but it makes your submission
1:15look more legit and usually gets it
1:17approved faster. When everything looks
1:19right, tap on submit and that's it. It's
1:22on its way to Google. Save this so
1:24you've got it the next time you need it.
