Intro
0:00Today we're talking about ideas. If you
0:02want your videos to perform better, you
0:03have to improve your idea process. This
0:06is the most important aspect of content.
0:08Nothing else matters if the idea is
0:10weak. Now, here's the truth about ideas
0:12that may surprise you. The top creators
0:14you look up to, they're all using the
0:15exact same process to find and develop
0:18their ideas. They've all built an idea
0:20mining system, and that really is the
0:22secret for how they're growing so fast.
0:24Their ideas are just better. So, in this
0:27video, I'm going to walk through the
0:28step-by-step process for how you can
0:30build the exact same idea mining system
0:32for yourself. It's just three steps, and
0:34if you do this, I guarantee your videos
0:36will perform better. I know this works
0:38because content is all I do all day
0:40long. I have a million followers. I've
0:42done billions of views, and my idea
0:44mining system is the reason I can go
0:46viral whenever I want. All right. Now,
What is a video idea? (7 Idea Legos)
0:48before I break down the process on how
0:49to build the idea mining system, let's
0:51just get crystal clear on what a video
0:53idea actually is, cuz it's probably not
0:55what you think. Most people think the
0:57video idea is just the topic. But that's
0:59only one small piece of it. A video idea
1:02is made up of seven different
1:03components. I call these idea Legos. You
1:05have the topic, but you also have the
1:07angle, the hook, the story structure,
1:10the visual format, the key visuals, and
1:12the audio. Think of these seven
1:14different components as Lego bricks that
1:16assemble together to create a unique
1:18video idea. Now, let's just define each
1:20of these seven pieces very quickly so
1:22you know exactly what I'm talking about.
1:24The topic is the one sentence simple
1:26description of what the video is about.
1:27But the angle is the combination of the
1:30premise, take, and interesting key facts
1:32that are used to explain the topic. So,
1:35you could have two branding videos about
1:36Apple. One of them about the history of
1:38their logo design and the other one
1:40about a specific ad campaign from 2004.
1:43These are very different videos. Similar
1:45topic, completely different angles.
1:47Okay, let's keep going. The hook
1:48structure is made up of three parts. The
1:50spoken hook, what is said. The text
1:52hook, the text that is shown on screen,
1:54and the visual hook, what is shown and
1:56how it's shown. The story structure is
1:58the way the story is delivered. Could be
2:00a breakdown, a listical, a tutorial.
2:02Think of it like story blocks or an
2:04outline structure that determines how
2:06the story flows. The visual format is
2:08the way the video is laid out visually.
2:11Could be green screen, could be a POV
2:13vlog, could be a faceless music only
2:15text conversation. There are dozens and
2:16dozens of winning visual formats. But
2:18just think of this like the visual
2:20layout of the video. Then we have the
2:22key visuals, which are the actual
2:23visuals used in the layout. It's what's
2:25actually shown on screen. The A-roll,
2:27the B-roll, the animations, etc. The
2:29visual format is how the visuals are
2:31laid out and sequenced. The key visuals
2:33are the visuals themselves. And then
2:35lastly, you have audio, which is either
2:36the background music or sound effects.
2:39Now, every video is a combination of
2:41these seven Lego bricks. And this is
2:43really important because knowing this
2:44and thinking in these Lego brick terms
2:46will completely change the way you find
2:48and develop video ideas. So, as we build
2:51the system for finding better ideas,
2:52just keep those seven Lego bricks in
2:54mind. We'll come back to those in a
The 3 Step Idea Mining System
2:55second. Okay, now let's get to the good
2:57stuff. This is the three-step system for
2:59coming up with better content ideas so
3:01that you get more views and grow faster
3:02on social media. Step one is called
Step 1: Outlier Research
3:05outlier research. The first step in the
3:07process is to find other videos in your
3:09niche that have already performed well.
3:11We call these outliers and we measure
3:13them using an outlier score. An outlier
3:15score takes the views of one video
3:17divided by the average views of that
3:19channel. So, for example, if some video
3:20gets 100,000 views and the average views
3:23on that channel is around 10,000, that
3:25would be an outlier score of 10x. Now,
3:27outlier scoring is really important
3:28because it helps us compare different
3:30sized channels apples to apples. Small
3:32channels typically don't get as many
3:34views on average. But if they have a
3:35banger video with a 50x outlier, then
3:37that signals something different
3:39happened there that's worth studying. So
3:41outliers are the core to everything we
3:43do when it comes to idea research. And
3:45it makes sense, right? If I showed you a
3:46hundred videos and said, "I'll give you
3:48a million dollars if you can make one
3:49that beats all 100." What would you do?
3:52Well, the first thing is you would rank
3:53the hundred from best to worst. And you
3:55would study the best ones. You look for
3:56gaps, identify where they were weak, and
3:58then try to make your version better
4:00than the weak points of the best videos.
4:02Well, those best examples are called
4:04outliers. They're the outperformers. All
4:06right. Now, I'm going to explain exactly
4:07where and how to find outliers in a
4:09minute. But just know step one in the
4:11process is that you need to build a
4:12system for finding outliers in your
4:14niche. Okay. Now, here's step two. Once
Step 2: Analyze Outliers (across lego bricks)
4:16you find an outlier, you need to analyze
4:18it across those seven Lego bricks. And
4:21your goal is to find common patterns
4:23across the winners. Maybe you notice
4:24that six out of the top 10 performing
4:26videos in your niche are all talking
4:28about the same topic. Or maybe when you
4:30zoom out and analyze the top 50 best
4:32performers, you keep seeing the same
4:34visual format that grabs your attention
4:36over and over. These patterns are
4:37indicating there is a proven answer for
4:39that Lego brick in your niche. That
4:42insight is gold because what you're
4:44really doing when you analyze the
4:45patterns is letting the data tell you
4:47what works best. See, if you've ever
4:49tried to make content before and it
4:50hasn't worked, well then the number one
4:52question on your mind is why isn't it
4:54working? And the reason why it isn't
4:55working is because you're guessing at
4:57what might work across all seven of
5:00those Lego bricks. You probably came up
5:01with an unvalidated topic, had a random
5:04take, tried some story structure or hook
5:06structure that was unvalidated with a
5:08visual format that you had never seen
5:09before, etc. You weren't using data, you
5:11were using your gut. Using data makes it
5:13much easier to win faster because humans
5:16cannot outrun their psychology. They
5:18tend to behave the same way over and
5:20over. If the research is saying one Lego
5:22brick works best for your niche in a
5:23certain way, it's probably going to keep
5:25working well in that way over and over.
5:27Now, am I saying you shouldn't ever try
5:28to be creative and experiment with
5:30something that's never been done? No, of
5:32course not. You should. But just know
5:33your hit rate is going to be way lower.
5:35If you make 10 reps based on validated
5:37data, you're going to get more winners
5:38than 10 reps based on your gut. It's
5:41just a fact. So, if you want to grow
5:42faster on social media, trust me, you
5:44need an idea research process based on
5:46finding outliers in your niche. Okay, so
5:49far we've covered two of the three steps
5:51in the idea mining system. First, you
5:53need to look for outliers in your niche.
5:55And second, once you find those
5:56outliers, you need to figure out what
5:58those seven idea Lego bricks were for
6:00that video. What is the topic? What is
6:02the format? How was the hook made?
6:04You're looking for patterns that signal
6:06what is already working. Now, here's the
Step 3: Hold Winners, Remix Losers
6:08third and final step. Once you identify
6:10winning patterns in the idea Lego
6:11bricks, you want to hold the winning
6:13components constant and remix the rest.
6:15So, for example, let's say we make
6:16fitness content and we notice that all
6:18the best performing videos are hooking
6:20in the same way and using the same
6:22couple visual formats. We'll take those
6:24two components, keep them the same, but
6:26then we will change the topic, the
6:28angle, the story structure, the key
6:30visuals, the audio. So, in this case,
6:32it's hold two remix 5. I like to think
6:34of this process kind of like playing
6:36five card poker. You see some reference
6:38outlier, you break it into seven cards.
6:40You pick which cards to keep and then
6:41you reshuffle the rest to get a new set
6:43of seven. This makes a new combination
6:45which has a higher chance of
6:46outperforming the original cuz you kept
6:48the good parts and you fix the bad. Now,
6:50this process I just described, it's
6:52called idea mining, and it's the most
6:53important step in the entire content
6:55workflow. Ideas are the thing that
6:57differentiate the winners and losers on
6:59social media and YouTube. This mining
7:00process is what all the top creators and
7:02brands are doing, and it's why they have
7:04an edge over you. They're using the data
7:06to tell them where the fish are. Now,
What makes Idea Mining process difficult?
7:08not to rain on the parade, but here is
7:10what makes this idea research process so
7:12difficult. The patterns for what works
7:14in each Lego brick changes over time.
7:16And the winning combination is
7:18completely different from niche to
7:19niche. What works for the fitness niche
7:21won't always work for the makeup niche,
7:23which is not always going to work for
7:24the marketing niche, and so on. For some
7:26niches, certain hook styles always work.
7:28For other niches, certain formats always
7:30work. For other niches, it's not clear
7:32what the pattern is. There is no
7:33one-izefits-all strategy that applies to
7:36all businesses across every niche. It is
7:38a completely blank slate from category
7:40to category. That's why learning how to
7:42do this idea research process is so
7:44critical. It's probably the most
7:46valuable content skill you could
7:48develop. In fact, it's so valuable that
7:50if you train yourself on becoming really
7:52good at this, you could probably start a
7:54sevenfigure revenue per year solo agency
7:57where you just did this for top creators
7:58and brands. Because regardless of the
8:00niche, if you get good at identifying
8:02the patterns, you can't lose. Okay, so
8:03now that we're clear on what a video
Diving into the tactical process
8:05idea actually is and the three-step
8:07strategy for how to build an idea mining
8:09system, let's get tactical because what
8:11kind of channel would this be if I
8:12didn't also just give you the stepbystep
8:15click forclick exact tactical process
8:18for how to do what I just described. So,
8:20let's dive into it. First, I'm going to
8:22explain exactly where to find the best
8:24outlier ideas for your niche. Then I'm
8:26going to share my screen and I'm going
8:27to show you exactly how I run this idea
8:30mining process a hundred times faster
8:32than everybody else. Okay, so first
Best places to find outlier videos (2x2 matrix)
8:33where do we find outlier videos? There
8:35are four main places you can look for
8:37outlier ideas. We've got a 2x2 matrix.
8:39Let's say you make Instagram reels about
8:41fitness content. So that means you
8:43create short form videos on Instagram.
8:45Short form videos is the content type.
8:47Instagram is the content platform. Now
8:49your goal is to find outliers of fitness
8:51content that you can study to make
8:53better Instagram reels. Keep that in
8:54mind. So you could look for outliers in
8:56four places. Same type, same platform
8:58would be other fitness related short
9:00form videos on Instagram. That's what
9:02you're making and where you are. Same
9:03same type, different platform would be
9:05other fitness related short form videos
9:07but on Tik Tok, YouTube, LinkedIn,
9:09Facebook, any other platform except for
9:11Instagram. Now different type same
9:12platform would be other fitness related
9:14posts on Instagram but it'd be static
9:16images or stories. Anything except for
9:18short form video. And then lastly,
9:20different type, different platform would
9:21be other fitness related posts, but
9:23maybe it's tweets or blogs or YouTube
9:25videos. It's non-short form video and
9:27it's non- Instagram. Now, of those four
9:29boxes, which places do you think are
9:31going to be the best source of
9:32continuous inspiration that you can use
9:34for fitness related short form IG reels?
9:37Two of these boxes are the golden geese
9:39for where you should look. Pause the
9:40video and think about it for a sec.
9:42Okay, I'm going to tell you the answer.
9:43It's the top two boxes. same content
9:46type and either on the same platform or
9:48different platforms. That's where you
9:50should look for outlier ideas. And this
9:51is going to be the rule. The best place
9:52to look for outlier ideas is going to be
9:54the same content type, in this case,
9:56short form video, and either the same
9:58platform, Instagram reels, or other
10:00platforms that support that content
10:02type, Tik Tok, YouTube, etc. And why is
10:04this? Because humans tend to behave the
10:06same over and over. Like I said, they
10:08cannot outrun their psychology. Vertical
10:10video content hits people differently
10:12than other types of content. The
10:13consumption patterns are just different
10:15type to type. So the easiest foolproof
10:17path to find winning outliers is to hold
10:19the type constant. Find other fitness
10:22related short form videos wherever you
10:24can and mine them for patterns. Now if
10:26you really know what you're doing with
10:27content, you can find interesting idea
10:29seeds on other content types, tweets,
10:32blogs, YouTube. But if you do this and
10:34find the topic and even the angle,
10:35you're then playing from scratch on all
10:37the other LEGO bricks. The hook won't
10:39carry over, the story structure won't
10:40carry over, the format won't carry over,
10:43etc. These will not be onetoone from a
10:45tweet to a video, and so you won't be
10:47able to just transport it. You're gonna
10:48have to crack the full code on your own.
10:50This is very hard for people to do
10:52consistently unless they're experts at
10:53content. So, if you want the easy path,
10:55the easiest mode, the path that all
10:57these brands are doing, just look for
10:59the same content type either on the same
11:01platform or different platforms. Because
11:03the goal when you're making content,
11:04especially as a business or business
11:06owner, is to derisk your effort. Every
11:08rep, you want the highest chance that
11:10your effort is actually going to pay
11:11off, that the video is actually going to
11:13work. If you want to increase your odds
11:14significantly, just narrow your research
11:16focus to the things that are already
11:18working in the same format that you're
11:20making. Okay. Now, before I get to the
11:21real sauce and break down my process for
11:23doing this 100 times faster, let's just
11:25recap on where we've been so far, just
11:27to set the table. Everyone can be even.
11:29First, we broke down that every video
11:31idea is really seven different idea Lego
11:33bricks. Next, we explained that the way
11:35to figure out what the winning patterns
11:37are across those seven Lego bricks is to
11:39find outliers in your niche and analyze
11:41them. We then established that the best
11:43place to find those outlier videos in
11:45your niche are either on the same or
11:46different platforms using the same
11:48content type. So, in this era, short
11:50form video is king for social media. If
11:52you want to grow on social media, you
11:54got to be making short form video. And
11:55that means you should be looking for
11:56outliers on Instagram, Tik Tok, and
11:58YouTube. Okay, so at this point we're
11:59clear. We need to look for outliers on
How do we actually do this outlier research process?
12:01those platforms. So now the big question
12:02is what is the actual process for doing
12:05this outlier research because you can't
12:07really expect to just scroll the feed
12:09for 2 hours and outliers will come to
12:11you, right? Well, the crazy thing is
12:13yes, that is the process that everyone
12:15has been running this whole time. They
12:16either curate their feed to try to have
12:18those outliers serve up automatically or
12:21they have a list of inspiration accounts
12:22that they manually open, scroll through
12:24and try to find the outliers. That
12:26process takes forever. The good news is
12:29I have a much better way. Basically, a
12:30shortcut for all that manual work that
12:32makes it a hundred times faster. And
12:34that shortcut is using Sandcastles.ai.
Sandcastles.ai makes this idea research 100x easier
12:36Sand Castles is the only tool in the
12:38world that makes this idea mining
12:40process extremely easy. And by the way,
12:42if you tried the original version of
12:43Sandcastles that was just for script
12:44writing, this is a completely different
12:46thing. Here's how Sand Castles works and
12:47why it's so cracked for idea mining.
12:49First, you build a watch list of the top
12:51channels in your niche. And this is so
12:52you can narrow in your outlier search to
12:54just the accounts that you already know
12:56are crushing. In Sandcastles, you can
12:57use the channels tab to search for any
12:59creator. Just drop in their handle or
13:01their URL of their profile. And you can
13:03add any account from Instagram, Tik Tok,
13:04or YouTube. Now, there are thousands of
13:06creators already in Sandcastle, and
13:07those are going to pop up immediately.
13:09But if we don't have somebody you want,
13:10just search for their handle, press add
13:12new channel, and we'll get them in there
13:13in 15 minutes. Now, there's no limit on
13:15the amount of channels you can add or
13:16the amount of lists you can make. So,
13:18you basically have unlimited power. What
13:19you want to do is build out a list for
13:21your core niche. And then if you want,
13:23you can build out separate lists for
13:24adjacent niches. So if you make fitness
13:26content, make a watch list, name it
13:28fitness, and add 20 to 30 of the top
13:30fitness creators that you know are
13:32already crushing. Now, here's a very
13:33common question. How do I figure out
13:35which channels I should be looking at
13:36for inspiration? I understand how to do
13:38it in Sand Castles, but how do I
13:40actually know which ones to add in the
13:41first place? And this is a great
13:42question. There are four ways to find
13:44the best inspiration channels when
13:45you're doing outlier research. The first
13:47way is that you already have a list of
13:49accounts either in some Excel or some
13:51list that you know make the best content
13:52for your space. And if you have that
13:54list, problem is obviously solved. Just
13:56start adding that list in. The second
13:57way is you might not have a full list,
13:59but there's probably at least one person
14:01that you can think of that really makes
14:03amazing content for your space. Start
14:04with that person. Open their account up
14:06on Instagram and Tik Tok. Click who
14:08they're following. And then you can see
14:10a list of the people that they follow.
14:12Typically, if someone is legit in a
14:13space, they're also following the other
14:15legit people in a space. So, that
14:17shortens the list. Go through that list.
14:19Anyone that's relevant, copy their
14:20profile link, add them to Sandcastles.
14:22The third way is to search on Instagram,
14:24Tik Tok, or YouTube. Search for topics
14:26or keywords that will be relevant for
14:28your niche. When you do that, the top
14:30videos will surface. Click on the video,
14:31see the creator, click them, add them to
14:33Sandcastles, and then you can start with
14:35them and run path two that I just
14:36mentioned. Go to who they're following
14:37and look through that list. And the last
14:39way to find relevant accounts to add to
14:41watch list in Sandcastles is go to the
14:43video tab in Sandcastles. Clear all the
14:45filters and then search by topic or
14:47keyword. Our database is all the top
14:49creators across every niche. So the
14:51videos that show, click on the creator
14:52who made them and add that person to a
14:54list. So there are four ways right there
14:56to find the top accounts in your niche
14:58to then add to a watch list in
14:59Sandcastles. Regardless of the path you
15:01take, all roads lead to curating a list
15:04of the top accounts in your space. Take
15:06the 10 to 15 minutes and do this. It'll
15:08make everything so much easier. All
How to analyze winning videos on sandcastles.ai
15:09right, now is where things get really
15:10interesting. Once you have that watch
15:12list built out, go to the videos tab and
15:14filter the videos for just that watch
15:17list. What you then have is a feed of
15:19videos posted only from the accounts in
15:21your list. And if the hair on the back
15:23of your neck is not standing up as you
15:24see this, it should be because this is
15:26an absolute cheat code for finding
15:28outlier videos. You can take this
15:29database of videos and now you can sort
15:32by outlier score or posted date and
15:34filter by a bunch of different key
15:36metrics. So, for example, let's say I
15:37wanted to make content about social
15:39media marketing. Maybe I run a social
15:41media agency or I'm trying to build a
15:43personal brand around content marketing.
15:44Here's the list that I've already made
15:46with the top 20 channels that talk about
15:48this stuff on Instagram and Tik Tok.
15:50I've already built it out. So, I go to
15:51the videos tab. I filter by that list.
15:53Now, if I want to see the best
15:54performing videos in the social media
15:56marketing space posted in the last 3
15:58months from my list, sorted best to
16:00worst. Boom. There it is. And this is
16:02basically all the outliers you need
16:04served up on a silver platter. It is
16:06insane how easy Sand Castles makes this
16:08compared to the manual way everybody was
16:09doing it. Now you can analyze these
16:11videos in this card view so you can see
16:12the thumbnail or in like a table view a
16:14little bit more minimal if that's what
16:16you prefer. If you want to just copy my
16:17filter settings these are the best
16:18settings for making sure the outliers
The best filter settings for finding outliers on sandcastles.ai
16:20are relevant every single time. First
16:22for outlier score you want to filter 5x
16:24and above. For engagement rate you want
16:26to go 5% and above. This will screen out
16:28all the paid brand deals that are juiced
16:30but actually not outliers. For post
16:32date, you want to play with 7 days, 14
16:34days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12.
16:36If you're making news-based content
16:37where relevancy and recency matters, 7
16:40days, 14 days is the best. If you make
16:42evergreen content, 3 months, 6 months,
16:44even 12 months might surface interesting
16:46ideas that are still relevant. And then
16:48you want to sort using those two arrows
16:50in the upper right by outlier score
16:52descending. That's the easiest way to
16:53get the top performing videos at the
16:55top. And you can create a filter preset
16:57with all these. Just press that save
16:58button. It'll save a preset for you. So
17:00you can one click get this every single
17:01time. Now obviously new videos are being
17:03posted by these creators every single
17:05day and we're ingesting them daily. So
17:06you really want to be in sand castles
17:08every day or at least four to five times
17:10a week so you're constantly seeing the
How to analyze outlier videos found on sandcastles.ai?
17:11latest outliers. Now from here the
17:13process is to start analyzing those
17:15individual outlier videos across the
17:18seven idea Lego bricks. And you can do
17:20that in two different ways. The first
17:21way is you can just click play video on
17:23any of the cards or the row and it will
17:25open the video up so you can just watch
17:26it manually. The second way is that you
17:28can click into each video and see the
17:30idea detail page. And here you get a
17:32bunch of metrics on the video, the full
17:34transcript, as well as detailed analysis
17:36on the hook structure and the story
17:38structure. Now, here's my personal
17:40process for how I go about using this. I
17:41like to use both of those methods
17:43combined. So, first I will open the
17:45video and watch it manually. Then I'll
17:46go to the idea detail page and I will
17:48look at the transcript and those
17:49structures. And again, the goal and the
17:51reason I'm doing this is that I'm trying
17:52to mine for patterns across those seven
17:55idea Lego bricks so that I know what
17:57works in my space. Okay, so when I'm
17:59analyzing each video and I'm going
18:00through this mining process, what am I
18:02actually looking for with respect to the
18:03Lego bricks? I like to go about this in
18:05two ways as well. The first category is
18:07daily inspiration. And really what I'm
18:09looking for here are specific topics,
18:11angles, and key visuals that are
18:13interesting to me that might be a topic
18:15I want to make soon. And I'm doing this
18:17daily to find these daily inspiring
18:19pieces. And then on the other side, I've
18:20got more long-term monthly and weekly
18:23tracking that I'm doing. Hook structure,
18:25story structure, visual format. You may
18:27not see a common pattern across visual
18:29formats in just 20 videos on one day.
18:31But holistically, if I do this every day
18:33for a week, am I starting to see the
18:35same story structure? That's more of
18:36long-term. So, I'm doing like real time,
18:38daily, and long-term at the same time
18:40when I mine. So, for me, I like to open
18:42a Google doc and I set it up like this.
18:44At the top of the page, I've got daily
18:45inspiration. Each bullet is a topic. And
18:48so, if I see a video I like and the
18:50topic is interesting, I'll grab that
18:51video and I'll write the following
18:53topics, angles, anything about the hook
18:56that popped out to me, key visuals. I
18:58also drop the link for that video there
19:00so I have it to reference. And then any
19:02audio notes about this video. So, it's
19:04all me analyzing this one video, not an
19:07aggregate pattern. It's this one
19:09specific video. Was it interesting to
19:10me? And what did I like about it? Then
19:12below in a separate section on the page,
19:14I have more of these long-term patterns
19:16that I'm trying to monitor over time.
19:18And so I've got hook structures, series
19:20structures, and visual formats. Anytime
19:22I start to have an idea pop in my head
19:23about a trend across any of those three
19:25that I'm starting to notice, I write it
19:27down. And to click down even one step
19:28further, this is literally what I do. I
19:30open the video and I watch it. The first
19:31filter is this. Do I find this topic
19:34interesting or is it kind of dumb and
19:35not relevant to me? Because obviously,
19:37you're not going to remake a video if
19:38you think it's dumb and interesting.
19:40That's like the first dumb filter.
19:42Anything that doesn't pass through, I
19:43just skip it and ignore it. Right? So,
19:44we get past that first. Now, after I get
19:46past that kind of like dumb check
19:48filter, and I do see a video that
19:50inspires me, I'm going to open the dock.
19:51I'm going to add that new bullet for a
19:53topic. And I'm going to write all those
19:54things down. Am I interested about this?
19:56What did they say? What were their
19:57certain lines they said that piqu my
19:59interest? Were there visuals they use?
20:01Are there gaps that I'm seeing that
20:02could be potentially filled? Did they
20:04use certain audio that drove emotion?
20:05I'm just writing notes down about the
20:07effectiveness of this video. Because the
20:08truth is, if I'm looking at it using
20:10sand castles, this is an outlier. So,
20:12they did something that worked. What was
20:14it that worked? I'm trying to figure
20:15that out. And I'm using this doc
20:17bucketing it by Lego brick because I'm
20:18trying to figure out where are the weak
20:20points. What did they do well? But then
20:22what didn't they do well that if I remix
20:24I can beat. After going through 20 to 30
20:26videos in a single session, I will have
20:28a list of ideas, topics that I liked
20:31that are also validated by the market.
20:33And my goal, like I said, is to analyze
20:35those seven Lego bricks of the outlier,
20:37figure out what they did really well
20:39that I want to keep constant and what
20:41they didn't do well that I could improve
20:43on. Now, typically for me, what I've
20:44noticed is I will almost always change
20:46the angle, the hook, and the visual
20:48format. But usually, I will leave the
20:50topic, some of the key visuals, and
20:52usually like the audio mood of it. But
20:54this is all an iterative process. It
20:56changes topic to topic. It changes niche
20:58to niche. The point is, you know, how to
21:00pull the winners and look for why they
21:02won and where there are weak spots. Now,
21:04if you guys want, I can make another
21:05video in the future that's just a screen
21:07share live session for an hour of me in
21:10sand castles doing this, like voicing
21:12over the process. What am I seeing for
21:14every single video? Why am I pulling it?
21:16I can do that for you. We don't have
21:17enough time to go through deep examples
21:18in this video, but if you want that,
21:20comment below and I'll know to make that
Idea Mining Process Recap
21:22video. Okay, so that really is the easy
21:24mode process of how to do idea mining in
21:26a nutshell. You're going to use sand
21:28castle.ai to create a list of the top
21:30creators in your niche. You're going to
21:31use that to aggregate the best
21:33performing videos in one place. And then
21:35you're going to analyze them one by one.
21:36And when you watch each video, you're
21:38going to look for insight across every
21:40Lego brick. What was the topic? What was
21:42their take, premise, or angle? What was
21:45the hook they used and how was it
21:46executed? How did they structure the
21:48story? What was the visual layout or
21:50visual format? Were there compelling key
21:52visuals they used or not? What was the
21:54audio and did it emotionally drive you
21:56to the feeling that you thought was
21:58compelling? Based on those answers,
22:00you're going to assess where the white
22:02space is. What was weak about that
22:04outlier that you could improve on to
22:05make an even better version. And the
22:07best part about using sand castles for
22:08this process is that there's no noise.
22:10You're only seeing the best performing
22:11videos in your space. So, that helps you
22:13see the patterns way faster. Okay. Now,
22:15after this, what comes next? What comes
22:18next is being able to take those raw
22:19Lego bricks and reassemble them into new
22:22combinations for your version of the
22:24video. And that's where you really
22:25figure out which parts to hold, which
22:27parts to remix, how to combine all that
22:29and write a new script, and so on. And
22:30this is the second piece of the idea
22:33process. It's called idea development.
22:35First, you mine for the winners, analyze
22:37them, and break it apart into pieces.
22:39Then, you reassemble those pieces in a
22:41new way to make a better video. Now, I
22:43don't have enough time in this video to
22:44cover the whole idea development process
22:46because that's another piece in itself,
22:48but so you know, when I do the idea
22:50development, I've got a full hook
22:52database. I've got a full story
22:53structure database. I have a full
22:55database of the visual formats. I'm
22:56looking at the winners. I'm holding
22:58pieces constant. I'm going to my
22:59database, swapping in new pieces. That's
23:01how I'm doing the development in real
23:03time. Now, if you guys want me to make
23:04that idea development video, kind of
23:06like part two to ideas where I take one
23:07of these outliers from the mining, break
23:09it down, and then rebuild it, you need
23:11to drop in the comments as well to let
23:12me know that's what you want. Just say
23:14something like, "Give me the sauce
23:15chef." And I'll know exactly what that
23:17means. Also, by the way, to thank you
23:18guys for the support on this channel,
23:19anybody watching the video at this
23:20point, I'm giving you the biggest
23:22discount code on sand castles that
23:24exists on the internet. It's code
23:26callaway. Use that at checkout. I'm not
23:28going to have it up forever, so make
23:29sure you use it now. All right, guys.
23:30That is all I've got for this video. As
23:32a recap, we covered a ton of ground.
23:34This one really was a tactical banger on
23:36ideas, and this was the first time I
23:38covered ideas on this channel in a
23:39meaningful way. So, make sure to let me
23:40know what you thought of this one in the
Summary
23:42comments. Here's a summary of what we
23:43went over. First, we broke down the
23:45seven core pieces that make up a video
23:47idea. We call those idea Lego bricks.
23:49And those were the topic, the angle, the
23:52hook structure, the story structure, the
23:54visual format, the key visuals, and the
23:56audio. Then we broke down the three-step
23:57process for how to build an idea mining
24:00system and introduced the concept of an
24:01outlier. After that, we explored the
24:03four options of places to look for
24:05outliers and the two best ones, the same
24:07content type across the same or
24:09different platforms. From there, I went
24:11kind of super saiyan, breaking down the
24:12exact tactical process for how to use
24:14that idea mining system with sand
24:16castles.ai to find and mine for
24:19patterns. We also broke down the exact
24:20process for how to build your idea short
24:22list, that dock that you capture
24:24patterns on. This should be everything
24:26you need to go from zero to having an
24:28idea mining system in place that
24:29actually crushes no matter what your
24:31niche is. From here, the next piece in
24:33the process is idea development, where
24:34you take those winning idea Lego brick
24:36patterns and build them up to make your
24:38own version. And again, I'll make that
24:39video for you guys as long as you
24:40comment, give me the sauce chef below.
24:42As always guys, I'm trying my absolute
