0:00There are a lot of assumptions

0:02about [snorts] the differences and

0:04indeed similarities between men and

0:06women today.

0:08One of those assumptions is that

0:11biblical original sin is the same for

0:14men and women, but this isn't what the

0:17Bible tells us. This is often quite

0:19difficult for people to deal with even

0:22in Christian circles, which are, to be

0:24honest, increasingly influenced by

0:27feminist thought. But if we actually

0:30look at what the Bible says in Genesis

0:332, God warned

0:35Adam not to eat at the tree of knowledge

0:38of good and evil, and in turn, Eve

0:41obviously found out about that, too,

0:43whether God told her or Adam is

0:45irrelevant. She knew not to break this

0:47commandment, too.

0:49In Genesis 3,

0:52this describes how Adam and Eve

0:54disobeyed this commandment, and the

0:58consequences for doing this, the

1:00consequences of their actions, which do

1:03vary for Adam and Eve despite some

1:06similarities. So, in this video, we'll

1:09be looking at these differences of how

1:11original sin was broken for man and

1:14woman, and how this is also part of the

1:17consequences for men and women, this

1:19difference. The punishment varies for

1:22men and women, and there obviously are

1:25some similarities. Both Adam and Eve

1:28were expelled from the garden of Eden,

1:30for example.

1:32For me, this is really important because

1:35we see these

1:37patterns related to original sin in the

1:40world today. So, we'll be looking at how

1:43this affects the relationship between

1:45men and women even

1:48today.

1:49For me, it's a really good example of

1:51how prophetic the Bible is at warning us

1:54about the dangers of sin and indeed the

1:58consequences of sin as well. So before I

2:05click the bell for all notifications,

2:07and let me know what you think in the

2:09comments section. So if we look at this

2:12slide here, and I called it the male and

2:14female original sin spectrum.

2:17We've got the tree of knowledge of good

2:18and evil in the middle and on either

2:20side we've got original sin broken down

2:23for men and women, male and female.

2:27Uh we will go through one point at a

2:29time and discuss the differences here.

2:32The first point for

2:35for Adam and Eve, men and women, is

2:38temptation.

2:40Why was Eve tempted? Why was Adam

2:42tempted? For Eve, she was tempted by the

2:45serpent.

2:46This is important. It's really important

2:48that we understand that it was the

2:49serpent who tempted Eve.

2:52>> [clears throat]

2:52>> Uh Eve said she shouldn't eat of the

2:54tree of knowledge of good and evil or

2:55otherwise she would surely die. But then

2:58the serpent said to Eve,

3:00"You will not surely die. You will be as

3:03gods knowing good and evil."

3:05But she ate She was tempted and she ate

3:07of that tree.

3:09What happened then was Eve went to Adam

3:13and tempted him to eat of the tree of

3:16knowledge of good and evil as well. So

3:18it he wasn't tempted by the serpent like

3:21Eve, he was tempted by Eve herself.

3:25Now let's move on to the reasons for

3:28this. As I've already mentioned, um we

3:31as we move to number two here, I have

3:33mentioned that the serpent said to Eve

3:36that she would be as gods knowing good

3:39and evil if she ate of the tree of

3:40knowledge of good and evil. That was her

3:43motivation.

3:44Adam's motivation is somewhat different

3:47if we look at the scripture. He appeased

3:49his wife. He went along with what Eve

3:53asked him to do.

3:55So, this is a difference. We can see the

3:57differences already, and this will

3:59continue here, and hopefully

4:01we can see what we can gain from this,

4:02because this is really important even in

4:04the modern world.

4:06Let's look at number three.

4:08Who did Adam and Eve blame for

4:11committing this sin?

4:13When God questioned Adam and Eve for

4:16this sin, Eve blamed the serpent. She

4:20said that the serpent basically tricked

4:22her into eating of the tree of knowledge

4:24of

4:24of good and evil.

4:26However,

4:27Adam

4:29not only blamed God because he brought

4:32Eve to him. He was the one who gave him

4:35Eve as a companion.

4:37He also blamed Eve herself for tempting

4:39him.

4:40So, this is another key difference.

4:43Now, we'll look at the cases or the

4:45punishments given to Adam and Eve by

4:49God.

4:50Now, in this sense,

4:52Eve was cursed with the pain of

4:55conception. Anything to do with

4:56childbirth, including monthly cycles and

4:59so on, would be painful.

5:02So, that was one of the things that Eve

5:05has to deal with. That's her cross to

5:07bear for

5:08committing the first or original sin.

5:11She was also

5:14cursed to be ruled by her husband. Now,

5:17this is interesting because

5:20the Bible does say initially within

5:23Genesis that

5:25Adam was given Eve to be a helpmate and

5:28a companion. But, the language is a lot

5:31softer than what came within the curse

5:33that God put upon Eve. In other words,

5:38it's almost like Adam is also being

5:40punished for going along with Eve and

5:43Eve for tempting Adam as well by this

5:47new kind of language within this

5:50relationship. It's far more of a tougher

5:53relationship now. Adam has far more

5:55expectation

5:57put on him, and Eve has far more

5:59expectation on here to have this

6:02relationship where Eve follows and Adam

6:05leads.

6:07If we move on to Adam

6:09for the curse at number four here, it

6:12says that he is cursed to toil the

6:14ground and struggle against nature.

6:18So, whereas previously

6:21Adam and Eve

6:23both didn't really need to do much. It

6:24was a paradise. They could just spend

6:26their days relaxing and tending to the

6:30tending to the environment around them

6:32very little if if anything at all

6:35because it was a paradise. And they

6:37could eat at the trees that gave them

6:39all the nourishment they needed. They

6:40just

6:42were told not to eat at this one tree,

6:44and they disobeyed that commandment.

6:46Now, in the world we're living today

6:49man has to toil the ground. He has to

6:51struggle against nature to survive.

6:55The he has to

6:57force back the elements. He has to

6:58protect himself from the elements

7:01and toil the ground so he can grow grow

7:04crops, for example. This is a very

7:06different situation now. Obviously, the

7:09other part of this is that Adam and Eve

7:11were both expelled from the garden.

7:14So, that is the the thing they have in

7:16common. But the nature of the

7:18punishments here are somewhat different

7:21as we can see.

7:22And amazingly, this is this is

7:24controversial.

7:25However, this is what the Bible says.

7:28And it to me

7:29it is interesting looking at this

7:31relationship

7:32and then examining the relationship

7:35between men and women in the the world

7:37today.

7:38So, if we move on here to the

7:39consequences of original sin, we're

7:42going to go into more detail cuz this

7:44this slide here is going to break down

7:47that in

7:49another way to make it easier for us to

7:51understand how this basically plays out

7:54in the world today.

7:56So, for women in the world today, the

7:58consequences of original sin

8:00are

8:02a situation where women covet power over

8:05God, man, and reproduction.

8:08Their vulnerability

8:10makes them covet power over God, which

8:13ties back to the original sin itself, to

8:16be as gods,

8:17but also, because of the curse put on

8:20her by God,

8:23she now

8:25covets power over man because she is

8:27ruled by man in the world around us.

8:31Equally,

8:32women today are constantly battling

8:35against

8:36the

8:38the hardship of reproduction.

8:40This is why we it seems to be almost an

8:43obsession with women today to

8:46move away from a situation where

8:48reproduction tion binds them, but also

8:52dealing with the pain of that, the

8:54consequences of this.

8:56In the

8:57Garden of Eden, it wouldn't have been

9:00like this. Originally, it wasn't

9:02supposed to be like that. If we look at

9:04men now,

9:06like women, the consequences aren't

9:09entirely the same. They have their own

9:12particular consequences.

9:15In this sense, just like women have to

9:19fight against the age to covet power

9:21over God, man man, and reproduction due

9:24to what Eve did in the garden,

9:28men have to fight against the age to

9:32put women on a pedestal and idolize

9:35them. Remember,

9:37idolatry is a sin. So, if you put women

9:39on a pedestal and idolize them, that is

9:43sinful. It's It's a It's one of the 10

9:45Commandments that you shouldn't make an

9:48idol of anything or anyone, frankly.

9:50But,

9:51critically, this comes down to idolizing

9:54female approval.

9:56This is the reason that Adam went along

10:00with Eve in the garden. It's because he

10:03wanted to pander to her approval.

10:08I would like to think that if Adam

10:10hadn't done that,

10:12if he'd if he just basically stepped

10:15back and not listened to Eve,

10:18it's entirely possible

10:21that God may have forgiven Adam for not

10:25preventing Eve for for from committing

10:27that sin due to free will.

10:30Obviously, this is speculation. I I

10:32don't know that, but

10:34having thought about this, it does make

10:36me

10:38consider whether that may have been the

10:40case.

10:42However, we can't truly know that.

10:45But, on in that sense, though, we do

10:48need to be aware that female approval,

10:51pandering to women, I making an an idol

10:54of women can get men into trouble. This

10:57is something we need to consider very

10:58carefully as men.

11:01And the other part of this is the

11:03endless battle to control nature. That

11:06is another one of the consequences of

11:07original sin. I have spoken about that a

11:11little bit

11:12already, but I want us to think about

11:14this a little bit more carefully. If it

11:16wasn't for this,

11:18we wouldn't have the need to fight

11:20against other men for resources.

11:23That is a big issue for us now, because

11:26resources are finite and the environment

11:30or nature can be very hard to overcome.

11:35This forces us into a into scarcity,

11:38which means we then need to fight other

11:40men for control of nature for the best

11:43land, for example. This is why Cain

11:47mated his brother Abel, given that he

11:50was jealous at Abel for having better

11:53land than him. He felt like he had worse

11:56land than Abel and Abel was more blessed

11:58than him, so this made him angry and he

12:00became the first murderer. This That

12:03story alone

12:04tells us a great deal about the

12:06situation for men now. I know we like to

12:08say that or can a lot of people will

12:11say, at least, that men can be

12:13psychopathic, but I think most of the

12:15problems that men have in the world are

12:19related to endlessly battling for

12:21control of nature so they can live well,

12:25often decadently, which is itself

12:28quite sinful if you take it to uh

12:31certain extremes, for sure. But also the

12:35acquisition of those resources help us

12:37to acquire the approval of women. And

12:40remember, this can become something

12:43sinful. We can begin to make an idol of

12:47female approval. Any kind of idolatry is

12:49bad, but I do think we should consider

12:51very carefully that idolizing female

12:53approval is a big problem as well.

12:58The key to understanding all of this as

13:00well is on on a broader point of

13:02Christianity.

13:04Original sin is like a disease.

13:07People struggle with the concept of

13:09original sin, what what it is and why we

13:12have to pay for it. But if you think of

13:15it like a disease that has infected us,

13:17this is this is a very

13:19orthodox Christian way of looking at it.

13:22We're infected with this disease of sin.

13:26We need to be cured of that. So, getting

13:29closer to Christ, partaking in the life

13:31of the church, this is how we do that.

13:35The church is often described as a

13:36spiritual hospital by Orthodox

13:39Christians with the priest being the

13:42receptionist and obviously Christ being

13:44the physician or the doctor.

13:47And

13:48all of this

13:49>> [snorts]

13:49>> explained in this fashion as well as

13:51critically the main point of the video

13:53which is

13:55the difference of sin for men and women

13:58should help clarify

14:00what it is going on here. Remember,

14:04in the middle, we also have the final

14:06piece of the puzzle puzzle, which is

14:08that men and women

14:10are struggling are struggling

14:12and

14:14face trying to overcome death. So, as

14:17I've said on this slide here to

14:18conclude,

14:20we all have to deal with struggle and

14:22death thanks to the consequences of

14:24original sin. That is a universal

14:27consequence despite the differences for

14:30men and women.

14:32So,

14:33that is it for another video.

14:35I hope you enjoyed it. If you did,
