0:07that says. And and we're going to have
0:10us a good time. We're going to pray. I'm
0:12telling you something that something
0:13happens when we gather together to pray.
0:15I'm believing God for some big stuff by
0:18the end of 2026. For real. For real. All
0:22right. I got They gave me a They gave me
0:26a few minutes. So, let's talk. Meet me
0:28in the book of Matthew, chapter number
0:30four, verse number eight, says this.
0:32Again, the devil took, y'all say, took.
0:36>> Took.
0:36>> Took him to a very high mountain and
0:38showed him all the kingdoms of the world
0:41and their splendor.
0:44All this I will give you, he said, if
0:48you bow down and worship me.
0:51Jesus said to him, get away from me,
0:54Satan.
0:56Peep verse number nine. All this, Satan
0:58says, all this I will give you
1:02if you bow down and worship me. Jesus
1:06said to him, "Get away from me, Satan."
1:11I want to put a tag on this text and
1:12teach for a few moments from this topic.
1:16On the way down to your seat, somebody
1:17just shout out, "Power moves."
1:19>> Power moves.
1:20>> Let me have your seats in the house.
1:21Power moves.
1:24family. Today, all across uh the world,
1:27churches are celebrating what's known as
1:30Pentecost Sunday.
1:33The day in Acts chapter number two,
1:35wherein the Holy Spirit descended upon
1:37the disciples like a rushing mighty wind
1:41and tongues of fire set upon them.
1:44Pentecost is derived from two words
1:48combined. Penta meaning 50 and cost
1:52meaning count.
1:54ultimately pointing to the 50th day
1:56after Passover. This is extremely
1:59important for us to get as believers the
2:01importance, the power and the prevalence
2:04of Pentecost. But can I suggest that
2:06Pentecost is more than just a day on the
2:09calendar? Pentecost is the day that
2:13heaven made a move.
2:16Yeah. In in Acts chapter number two,
2:18essentially what happens is this. God
2:20takes fearful, fragile, in inconsistent
2:24disciples and fills them with
2:26supernatural power through the Holy
2:29Spirit, turning ordinary people into
2:32bold witnesses. Now, this is extremely
2:35important to understand what's happening
2:37in Acts chapter number two. This is a
2:40good place to put a shameless plug about
2:43the fact that in our fresh word Bible
2:45teachings, we've been actually walking
2:46through Acts chapter number I'm sorry,
2:49the book of Acts chapter by chapter and
2:51it's on YouTube. So go to YouTube and
2:52subscribe and then you'll be caught up
2:55with everything that's happening. So 50
2:57uh the Pentecost is Pentecost festival
3:00or or or celebration is held 50 days
3:03after Passover. Now, this is extremely
3:05important because I want to suggest that
3:07Pentecost was not God reacting.
3:13Pentecost was God revealing.
3:16This was not heaven scrambling trying to
3:20figure out what to do after Jesus had
3:22ascended. It's not it. Pentecost was
3:26always a part of the plan. As a matter
3:28of fact, before there was an upper room,
3:31there was a divine strategy.
3:33Y'all got to stay with me because I'm
3:35laying some foundation and it's going to
3:37be impactful for us. Before there was
3:38rushing wind, there was a sovereign
3:41whisper. Nothing, remember, has ever
3:44occurred to God. He is omnisient. He is
3:48all knowing. He has all wisdom. So then
3:51that that means that Pentecost is proof
3:54that God never waits until the problem
3:57appears before he prepares the
4:00provision.
4:02Okay. Pentecost is proof that God never
4:06waits until the problem appears before
4:10he prepares the provision. Pentecost is
4:13proof positive that God always has a
4:18plan.
4:19Yeah. And and the reason that that's
4:21extremely important is because God knew
4:24that they would need, watch this, that
4:27they would need power before they even
4:30knew that they were powerless.
4:32Now, this is extremely important just as
4:34I kind of lay some foundation because as
4:36believers, Pentecost is a big deal.
4:39This this is a big deal. See, see, when
4:41we hear the word Pentecost, sometimes it
4:44depending on where you kind of walk
4:46through in life or where you come up in
4:48life, you might think Pentecost is for
4:50the Pentecostals only,
4:53right? Maybe you grew up in a space uh
4:56like me. It was like, I ain't heard much
4:57about Pentecost at all. Uh so maybe you
5:00grew up Baptist like I did and and maybe
5:02they preached about it, but maybe nobody
5:04ever taught it. Maybe you Methodist,
5:05maybe maybe Episcopal. We all need
5:08Pentecost.
5:10If you're Catholic, you need Pentecost.
5:14I If you [laughter]
5:15If you're Episcopalian, you need
5:17Pentecost. If you are Methodist, we need
5:21Pentecost. If uh you are evangelical,
5:25Lord knows we need Pentecost.
5:28All right. Uh
5:31uh well, pastor, what kind of church is
5:33this? A Bible one.
5:37>> So So which box do y'all fit in? None.
5:41The Bible box. Look at somebody say it's
5:43the Bible. The Bible. The Bible.
5:45>> So, so I got I got to lay this
5:47foundation because we have relegated
5:51Pentecost
5:52to one denomination.
5:56But the Bible does not do that. Are
5:59y'all with me? We're gonna unpack it.
6:01The Bible does not do that. Because when
6:03I say, watch this. Let me teach for a
6:05second. When I say Pentecost, something
6:07comes to your mind. some picture maybe
6:10of some experience you may have seen
6:12maybe something you saw on YouTube
6:15uh something right uh some picture comes
6:17to your mind about how about what
6:20Pentecost is and I want to kind of
6:22reframe that and kind of let's draw what
6:24the Bible says about Pentecost is that
6:26all right
6:27>> that's extremely important all right
6:28cool peep this all right we have now
6:31that you got that understanding here we
6:34go
6:36we need this. Let me say it like this.
6:40We live in an age where we have
6:44systematized our spirituality.
6:48We We have degrees.
6:52Um we've got so many degrees. People are
6:54making up degrees.
6:57They're making up the fact that they got
6:59degrees.
7:05Like if you got a whole degree, somebody
7:07should have been in your class. Like,
7:08can somebody please come forward?
7:10[laughter]
7:11Say that we had a class together.
7:15We we we have almost systematized
7:19spirituality to the degree that we've
7:21turned Christianity into this religious
7:24Disney world where we have certain
7:26characters that we come to see.
7:30And and it feels like right now
7:32everything I'm talking about I'll get to
7:33the text in a moment and maybe it feels
7:35like what I'm talking about talking
7:36about Pentecost and all this stuff is
7:38what is pastor what is pastor on pastor
7:40from cover ranches they don't talk about
7:42pentecost right what's happening but
7:44it's not something spooky it's not
7:46something super uh spiritual re
7:49relegated only to a certain group of
7:51people listen to me hear me clearly
7:54please hear me when hell is on your
8:00When temptation is chasing you down,
8:06when when pressure is pushing you
8:11AND WHEN WARFARE IS EVERYWHERE,
8:15YOU NEED MORE. PLEASE HEAR ME. YOU NEED
8:17MORE THAN CUTE QUOTES and clever
8:22captions.
8:24YOU NEED MORE THAN GOOD VIBES AND
8:28>> POSITIVE ENERGY.
8:30YOU YOU NEED MORE THAN SELFHELP
8:33STRATEGIES AND MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES.
8:37>> You need uhoh. You need HEAR ME. YOU
8:41NEED POWER.

8:49NEED POWER. Um this is so important UH
8:54TO THE HEART OF God that in the book of
8:56Acts chapter number one verse number
8:57eight sorry verse number four watch what
9:01watch what the instructive IS FOR THE
9:03DISCIPLES those who are believers watch
9:05what the instructive is for the for the
9:07believers watch what it says and when
9:10uhoh they came together
9:13he gave them this order the book of Acts
9:15chapter number one verse NUMBER FOUR HE
9:16GAVE THEM this order watch what HE SAYS
9:19WATCH THIS DO NOT LEAVE JERUSALEM,
9:24but wait
9:27for the gift
9:30I told you
9:33and THE GIFT MY FATHER PROMISED. NOW,
9:36the reason this is so important, God,
9:37this is good. This is so important. He
9:40says, watch, watch, watch the language.
9:43Do not wait. Do not leave Jerusalem.
9:47Stay right there. Um um and then wait
9:54for the gift
9:56I told you about THE GIFT MY FATHER
10:00PROMISED. Stay with me. Do this is what
10:04he says to the believers.
10:06Do not leave Jerusalem. Wait
10:10for the gift.
10:13Don't just wait because or or don't just
10:16run because you have a gift.
10:22Wait for the gift. This is extremely
10:27important. And he's talking about
10:28talking about the Holy Spirit, right?
10:29Peep this. Peep this. This is the
10:32temptation for super gifted people. When
10:34when you're highly gifted, when you're
10:36super gifted, supergifted people have
10:38the have to be careful that they don't
10:40think that their gift is is God's green
10:43light.
10:45Let me say that one more time for the
10:46people in the back and the people in the
10:49chat. SUPERGIFTED PEOPLE have to be
10:53careful that they don't think that their
10:56gift is God's green light because it's
10:59actually God's grace.
11:02So then that means if keep that right
11:05there that means just because God gave
11:08me the ability to do something doesn't
11:11mean that God wants me to do that
11:13something right now.
11:14>> So Pentecost is proof of a principle NOT
11:18JUST ABOUT BEING good at a task. It's
11:21about being discerning concerning
11:23timing.
11:26So it's one thing to know your gifting.
11:28It's another thing to know your timing.
11:31>> [snorts]
11:32>> It's one thing to to to know that you
11:34can do something. IT'S ANOTHER THING TO
11:36KNOW WHEN YOU SHOULD do something. And
11:38some of us think that because WE ARE
11:40GOOD THAT IT'S TIME. It's quiet.
11:45>> It's quiet. So, I'm getting ready to say
11:48a cursed word in church. Y'all pray for
11:50me for this generation. And the word
11:53that if I ain't careful, y'all will run
11:54out of this church because y'all will be
11:56upset with me about and say, "Pastor,
11:58just curse me out in church." And the
12:00word is wait.
12:04>> Yeah. Yeah. That's that that's the word.
12:06Yep. That's the word. Keep that right
12:08there. Yeah. Keep that word because
12:09that's what Jesus said. He said wait.
12:11Don't start it yet. Wait. Don't preach
12:14yet. Wait. Don't build it yet. Wait.
12:18Don't move yet. Wait. DON'T LAUNCH IT
12:21YET. WAIT. SEE HOW QUIET it is?
12:26You see if I was saying it's your time.
12:28GO DO IT RIGHT RIGHT NOW. PICK IT UP. IT
12:30JUST GO START IT. AND Y'ALL BE LIKE, I
12:33LOVE THIS CHURCH.
12:35I'm ready to go do it. It's my season.
12:37I'm taking back everything that the
12:39enemy stole from me and the canker worm
12:42and and the you can worm.
12:47>> Wait. He says, "Don't run. WAIT. SIT
12:52RIGHT THERE."
12:53>> BECAUSE THE problem is you want to keep
12:54running, but you don't know how to wait.
12:56is when it's it's in the waiting that
12:58God says, "I get to deal with you."
13:02>> So I [laughter]
13:05All right. All right. This is what he
13:07told them. He told them, "Wait." Um, are
13:12y'all here? The microphone still good?
13:14Y'all better say amen. It's my birthday.
13:16[laughter]
13:19These are the disciples that walked with
13:21Jesus, talked with Jesus. They saw
13:23miracles. They watched him raise the
13:25dead. They watched him open blind eyes.
13:28And Jesus still says to them, "You are
13:31not ready without power."
13:36Yeah, you've been around church, but you
13:37don't have power.
13:40You know power talk, but you don't have
13:43any
13:44yet. He says, "So, wait right there.
13:48Don't don't no.
13:51I know you're looking across the field
13:52and you see people who are less gifted
13:54than you doing what you desire to do.
13:58But can you wait?
14:01No. No. No. It's not about gifting. It's
14:03about timing.
14:05Cuz if you get timing right, you don't
14:07have to be as gifted.
14:13>> Man, this message is gonna hit somebody
14:16Friday at noon.
14:19Okay. Somebody say power.
14:21>> Power.
14:22>> Come on y'all say power.
14:23>> Power.
14:24>> You cannot fight spiritual battles with
14:26human strength.
14:30>> You cannot That's right, BABY. YOU
14:33CANNOT I GOT TO PREACH THE BABY FIGHT
14:35HUMAN BATTLES WITH FIGHT SPIRITUAL
14:38BATTLES WITH HUMAN STRENGTH. SO, BECAUSE
14:40BEFORE ACTS 2, before Pentecost, before
14:43the upper room, Jesus models himself
14:47what a spiritfilled
14:49life looks like. He shows us in the text
14:52we're going to look at, he shows us how
14:54to move with purpose and power.
14:59So, Jesus was led into the led by the
15:03spirit into the wilderness. Um, this is
15:07extremely important. And the text says
15:08ver Matthew 4 verse verse number one and
15:11two. And the Bible says that he was 40
15:13days, 40 nights, no eating, no drinking.
15:15He was hungry. And the Bible say that
15:17you was hungry. You was hungry. Some of
15:20y'all like biblically hungry right now.
15:22[laughter]
15:23I got Jesus hungry.
15:26And uh the text says it's Jesus
15:28wilderness uh and his his appetite. All
15:32we see in the text is Jesus and his
15:33appetite. I gave you this, but I thought
15:35it was good because somebody missed last
15:37week and and since all of us got
15:39convicted, I felt like I might as well
15:41be a equal opportunity conv
15:45one slide. And it says this um Jesus in
15:48the garden, I'm sorry, in the in the in
15:49the wilderness with just his appetite
15:51alone. And the enemy attacks Jesus at
15:55the point of his physical weakness.
15:57Because if we don't deal with our
15:59appetite, the devil will use our
16:01appetite to deal with us.
16:05Okay,
16:06dramatic pause right there.
16:09Um, and and what what what happens in
16:13the text that we're going to read shows
16:14us that Jesus operates in not just
16:17purpose. Yes, purpose. Absolutely
16:19purpose, but then also power. I'm trying
16:21to weave these ideas together as it
16:23relates to Pentecost as well as the text
16:25in the series that we're in because
16:26Pentecost is extremely important because
16:28Pentecost is proof of God's power.
16:32Pentecost is proof of God's plan. Not
16:35Not only is Pentecost proof of God's
16:37plan, Pentecost is proof of God's
16:39proximity.
16:43Not Not only is Pentecost proof of God's
16:45proximity, Pentecost is proof of God's
16:47partnership.
16:49I'm going to unpack this. Not only is
16:51Pentecost proof of God's partnership,
16:53BUT PENTECOST IS PROOF OF God's pursuit.
16:57Now, now, now, what are you talking
17:00about, pastor? And what does this have
17:02to do with Jesus in Matthew 4? I'm glad
17:05you asked. I I'm glad you asked. The
17:08Holy Spirit Jesus shows us that the Holy
17:12Spirit is not just for shouting.
17:15He's for strategy,
17:18not just for dancing, but for
17:20discernment,
17:22not just for emotionality, but for
17:24spiritual maturity. The spirit gives us
17:27power to stand still when hell is trying
17:32to rush us.
17:36Okay. The the Holy Spirit is proof that
17:39God already anticipated every battle we
17:42would face. And watch this. He sent help
17:45ahead of time. Oh God, the Holy Spirit,
17:49this almost made me run out of the
17:50church at 10 o'clock. is proof that God
17:53already anticipated every battle that we
17:56would face and he sent help ahead of
17:59time. Now, I know it's early in this
18:02preaching presentation, but I need about
18:0415 people that will give God praise that
18:08he sent you help before you knew you
18:10needed it. Have you EVER F OH, GOD. I
18:13FEEL GOD HERE. HAVE YOU EVER FOUND
18:15YOURSELF WORRIED ABOUT SOMETHING THAT
18:18DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN BECAUSE GOD SENT YOU
18:20HELP before you needed? Would you stand
18:22up AND SIT BACK DOWN AND SAY, "THANK
18:24YOU, JESUS, for power."
18:26>> Thank you, Jesus.
18:30>> And in our text, I'M GOOD ON TIME. AND
18:32IN OUR TEXT, WE SEE OH, I got to hurry
18:34up then. I'll just skip this because
18:35y'all was here last week and y'all
18:36watched. Y'all are subscribed to the
18:39YouTube page. So, y'all y'all y'all are
18:41up to date. Last week we talked about
18:43Matthew chapter number four verses 1 and
18:44two. Jesus led by the spirit, right? Led
18:48by the spirit into the wilderness. I
18:49don't like that because if I'm asking
18:51the spirit to lead me, I'm probably not
18:53thinking about leading me to wilderness
18:55spaces. I promise you when I want God to
18:57guide me, I guarantee you I'm not
18:59talking about into something I don't
19:01like.
19:04How [laughter] many Lord, please send me
19:05into a season that I'm just completely
19:07uncomfortable in. Never. We never that
19:10ain't never been right. So so so we
19:13talked about we talked about this idea.
19:16We talked about this idea of the
19:17wilderness and and and and and what that
19:19brings and we talked about the appetite
19:21and how important it is to confront our
19:23appetites because what you don't
19:25confront you confuse as conquered.
19:28Yes. Yeah. So so so we talked about all
19:30of that stuff, but there's something in
19:31the text that messed me up and arrested
19:33my attention. And it's found right here
19:35in Matthew chapter number uh Matthew
19:37chapter number four. Peep this. Verses
19:39five and six. It says this.
19:42It's sec it's Satan's second move.
19:44Satan's second move is what I call the
19:46pressure to prove. Here's what happens.
19:49Then the devil took him along into the
19:51holy city and had him stand on the
19:53pinnacle of the temple. And he said to
19:56him, "If you are the son of God," this
19:59is what Satan says, "throw yourself
20:01down. For it is written, he will give
20:04you, I'm sorry, he will give his angels
20:06orders concerning you.
20:09On their hands, they will lift you up so
20:11that you do not strike your foot against
20:13the stone. Let me tell you what just
20:15happened. So, so Jesus, verse number
20:18one, was led by the by the spirit into
20:21the wilderness. Here we go. Satan is
20:24having a conversation with Jesus. He
20:25takes Jesus to the top of a a pinnacle
20:30and he looks down. And basically what he
20:33does is he looks over to Jesus and tells
20:35Jesus, "Jump.
20:37Go ahead, jump.
20:39If you jump, don't worry. You'll be okay
20:42because the angels are going to come and
20:44they're going to get on your side and
20:45they're going to float you right back
20:47up. You wouldn't even hit your foot on
20:49the stone."
20:51You see what he's trying to do? He's
20:53trying to entice Jesus to try to get God
20:56to prove something for Satan.
20:59He's like, "Jump."
21:01He's trying to provoke Jesus to Watch
21:04this. Throw yourself down is what he's
21:06saying. Essentially, I got to ask a
21:09question. Why do I have to harm myself
21:12to prove something to you?
21:15How come? Let me come let me come let me
21:17go to this side. I think this side gonna
21:18feel this. How come I got my loyalty has
21:22to be seen in how much I let you abuse
21:24me?
21:27>> Why is it only loyalty when you're doing
21:29me wrong?
21:32>> Let me say it on this side because they
21:33felt me.
21:35>> How come you're determining what type of
21:38loyalty I have not based on your
21:40actions, but mine?
21:42>> When in actuality, my actions are a
21:45reaction to yours.
21:50Don't loyalty. Tweet this and tag your
21:54boy. Loyalty has limits.

22:11do some Lord Jesus. Somebody teach my
22:13wife how to sign. That is not a
22:18alligator biting something.
22:21How come Satan throw yourself down? So,
22:25so wait a minute. Wait a minute. I got
22:27to be hurt to prove to you who I am.
22:33>> How about I not let myself get hurt in
22:35the first place?
22:40>> This is why you got to be careful in in
22:42certain relationships. People will try
22:44and play on your loyalty.
22:46You're trying to play on your lawyer.
22:48Oh, you know you're loyal. So that so
22:49that that don't mean you get to cheat on
22:50me.

22:57IT'S LIKE NO. YES, I'M LOYAL.
23:00I'm not dumb.
23:03>> That's in the Bible, too. I'm not dumb.

23:08It's like, you want me to be loyal, but
23:10you're lying. Okay. Um,
23:13let me get back to [laughter]

23:18>> Jesus is showing us that I don't need
23:19unnecessary theatrics to validate who I
23:22am.
23:26I I I don't need that. I don't need
23:28that. I love I love what happens in this
23:31text. That absolutely just it it floors
23:33me. Watch what? Watch this. Matthew 4.
23:35Let's put that on there. Matthew 4 1
23:36and2. Stay with me. Do y'all y'all got
23:39your Bible, Bible app, whatever it's on
23:41the screen. Matthew 4 1 and2. The text
23:44says, "Then Jesus was led," y'all say
23:47led.
23:48>> Led,
23:48>> "By the spirit into the wilderness."
23:50Okay. Matthew 4, uh, let's go verses 9
23:53and 10. I believe it's verse 10. Um,
23:56yeah. Mhm. Yep. It says, "Then Jesus was
24:00take Jesus." Uh, nope. Let's go before
24:03that eight then. Uh, there it is. Yeah.
24:05Perfect. Appreciate y'all media team.
24:07Watch this. Matthew 4. And again, the
24:09devil took him along to a very high
24:13mountain. Okay. Matthew 4:es 1 and 2.
24:16Then Jesus was led. Matthew 48.
24:20Then the devil took him. So I got nosy.
24:25I started trying to think because if
24:26you're going to read the Bible, if
24:27you're going to study the Bible, you got
24:28to be very nosy. You got to be like like
24:31that neighbor that's be looking at
24:32watching y'all. Who y'all have coming?
24:36You got to be so nosy. You got to ask
24:38questions. Right? So I'm asking a
24:40question. Is there any significance to
24:41the fact that the spirit led him but the
24:45enemy took him?
24:49>> So I'm like, is there any significance
24:51to that? So, so, so did did a little bit
24:53of study and I'm trying to figure this
24:55this thing out. And the Greek word,
24:56watch this. The Greek word for the
24:59spirit leading Jesus is to guide or to
25:02watch this, to bring intentionally. Here
25:05we go. This speaks to a willing
25:08submission to
25:10So when the spir when the text says the
25:12text says um the spirit led him what the
25:16text is essentially saying is Jesus
25:19willingly submitted himself to
25:23what the spirit was leading him to do or
25:25into. Y'all with me?
25:28>> Okay. Willingly
25:30led by the spirit Jesus was. And then
25:33the text says uh the devil took him. So
25:36I'm like what does that got to do
25:37anything? Well, that word for take or or
25:40took in that particular context really
25:42means this. It means to take along or
25:45peep this to take or to carry off. Okay,
25:49this is extremely important, right? He
25:52he he he is essentially this the spirit
25:56led Jesus into the wilderness.
26:01Satan took Jesus to a high mountain or a
26:04high point.
26:06Okay. He looked around and it was
26:09beautiful. And Satan said to Jesus, "Um,
26:14throw yourself off." Y'all missed that
26:16shot. The spirit I'm coming. The spirit
26:21took Jesus and led him into the
26:25wilderness.
26:27Satan
26:29took Jesus and put him up on a high
26:33place.
26:36>> [applause]
26:37>> The spirit LED JESUS TO A LOW PLACE.
26:42>> SATAN TOOK JESUS UP, Lord have mercy, TO
26:45A HIGH PLACE. THIS IS WHY YOU GOT TO BE
26:47CAREFUL. JUST BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE
26:50YOU'RE GOING UP DOESN'T MEAN SATAN AIN'T
26:52THE ONE PUSHING YOU THERE.

26:57>> UM, SO THE SPIRIT LED JESUS INTO THE
27:01WILDERNESS. SATAN TOOK JESUS UP TO THE
27:04MOUNTAIN ONE. OH, Lord have mercy. Y'all
27:08better say amen. It's my birthday.

27:14If I were to read further, I'm not
27:15because I got to go. Uh the restaurant
27:17calling me.
27:19Biblical hunger. Hallelujah. [laughter]
27:23And uh and then to take if I were to
27:25read further, y'all can go back and read
27:26it. I promise you. Uh, Satan comes to
27:29Jesus again and takes Jesus on a high
27:31place again.
27:33Again. Now. Oh, this is so good. Verse
27:37number one and two. Spirit led him into
27:39the wilderness. I don't like that.
27:41Eight.
27:43Satan took him to a high place. Saw
27:45beautiful surroundings. Okay. Another
27:48verse. Keep reading. Satan takes him to
27:50another high place.
27:52>> Beautiful. You see all the creation. He
27:54said, "I'll give you all of this." Look
27:56at that. This is God. This is what I'm
28:00talking about. You see how
28:03You see how Watch this. Here's the
28:05temptation. Please hear me pastorally.
28:07Here's the temptation. The temptation is
28:09to think that because well, let me let
28:12me go this way. Notice how Satan
28:17um Notice how Satan tries to change the
28:20scenery
28:24cuz you just came out of 40 days and 40
28:27nights of wilderness.
28:29So you want some bread? Turn them into
28:31bed. No. Okay. Well, you look at all of
28:34this
28:36because Satan thinks that the scenery is
28:40going to change Jesus's conviction.
28:43Okay. Um, 40 days, 40 nights, hunger.
28:46This is why you got to be careful when
28:48you have been single and ready to mingle
28:50for a long time. Um, you can come out of
28:53a single season hungry.
28:58Let me preach to the LED wall
29:00>> and you're like, "GIRL, HE GOT TEETH
29:02THOUGH.
29:06At least he got teeth.

29:31know you're hungry?

29:38something you do. I remember I got to
29:40go. This happened years ago and and it's
29:43this true story.
29:46It's a true story. A long time. It's so
29:49long ago. Hey, matter of fact, I don't

30:12The devil tempted me.
30:14Not the day devil.
30:17No, but seriously, I remember uh we we
30:21had we was at a service similar to this,
30:22right? Well, yeah, we was in church. Not
30:24here, but years ago. And um somebody
30:27came somebody came to to us. They're no
30:30longer I don't know where they but um
30:33they came and they this is what they
30:35say. This is true story. True story.
30:37They were like, "Pastor, great message
30:39today." Such such like, "Man, thank you.
30:41Appreciate it. I love that." Whatever.
30:43Um, it was like, "The only thing is the
30:46there's one thing, pastor,
30:49at at this church, it's like the ladies
30:52when they come in, their skirts just be
30:55too short
30:57and they say they need to have reverence
31:00for the house of God." And I said,
31:02"Okay,
31:04all right." So, no, no. They come in and
31:06this stuff is too tight. One one one one
31:11I I got to tell the story without
31:14telling. Uh there one time I saw
31:18somebody they came in watch this and it
31:20was a group of them and they look like
31:22they just came from the club.
31:26I said yeah.
31:29Now there's a number of issues with that
31:31statement that those statements. One of
31:33them is they didn't understand who was
31:37just preaching to them.
31:44>> I I I I used to be there
31:47>> the club that is. Oh yeah. Uh the is my
31:51microphone working?
31:53I'm like I was there. WHAT ARE YOU
31:55TALKING ABOUT? YOU'RE JUDGING ME LIKE
31:57RIGHT.
31:59OKAY. That was one. There's a number of
32:02things wrong with that state. these
32:03statements. But that was one. And the
32:05other one was, I noticed something. And
32:07this is what I said to him. I noticed
32:09something.
32:10The people that you're talking about, I
32:13don't see them looking at you.
32:19>> I said I said I said, "Isn't it crazy?
32:23That's the STRANGEST THING. IT'S LIKE,
32:25YO, THEY'RE IN HERE WORSHIPING.
32:27>> You're looking AT THEM.
32:31THEY'RE NOT tempted by you.
32:34>> IT SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE TEMPTED BY THEM.
32:37>> SO, IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE WEARING.
32:40>> THE ISSUE IS YOUR MIND.
32:43>> HOW COME YOU IN GOD'S HOUSE THINKING
32:45ABOUT WHO YOU CAN HOOK UP WITH?
32:54>> Doesn't matter what they HAVE ON IF YOUR
32:55EYES [screaming] ARE ON JESUS.
32:59So now you want us to police women
33:02>> and not your pollution in your mind.
33:06[applause]
33:08>> Y'all better say amen. It's my birthday.
33:11[laughter]
33:18So So I said I literally said that. I
33:21said it don't look like they looking at
33:22you.
33:26They're not tempted by you. You're
33:27tempted by them. So, what we need to do
33:29with is your temptation and how to
33:31overcome it. I can tell you how to
33:33overcome it. Whether that's your
33:35temptation or something else, you're not
33:37going to do it with cute quotes. You're
33:39not going to do it with motivational
33:41speeches. You're not going to do it with
33:43your best self-help book. What you need
33:46is power.

33:51>> I guess I'll get out of here when I tell
33:52you this.
33:54Jesus shows us.
33:57Jesus shows us in Matthew chapter number
33:58four. He shows us what it means to make
34:02a power move.
34:04Because if you're playing chess, right,
34:06you can put a player in check. And what
34:08that means is you actually have their
34:10king in a position to where you can take
34:13that. You can take the king, right?
34:16However, check is not the same as
34:18checkmate
34:20because when a king or when a when a
34:23king is in the position of check, the
34:26opponent is thinking that they're going
34:28to win, but there's still another move
34:31to be made.
34:34When you're in checkmate, game is over.
34:38So, Satan calls check with the last
34:41verse when he takes him up on the
34:42mountain and says, "Bow down and worship
34:45me."
34:46Jesus makes a power move. AND IT SAYS,
34:51"GET AWAY FROM ME. I'm done entertaining
34:55you because you're coming for something
34:57that you don't have rights to." And
35:00that's my worship.
35:03Jesus says verse number 10 he says says
35:05you shall worship the Lord your God and
35:09serve him only. SO JESUS PUT DISTANCE IN
35:14BETWEEN HIM and anything that was trying
35:16to get him off or distracted as it
35:20relates to worship because a power move
35:25will cause you let me say it like this
35:28then a power move
35:30will make you make power moves
35:34because power
35:36moves us.
35:39When you have the Holy Spirit's power,
35:42he moves us away from bitterness.
35:47When I have the Holy Spirit's power, he
35:50moves me to love again. When I have the
35:53Holy Spirit's power, he moves me to
35:56forgive. He moves me to put distance in
35:59between me and them. He moves me to put
36:02distance in between me and it. When
