0:03all right welcome so this is a

0:05demonstration

0:07of the patches that we'll be making um

0:09in context so i have a little groove

0:11it's only a couple of minutes

0:13i've just made a simple little baseline

0:15and kick drum pattern

0:17with a bit of a melody down here and

0:18then the rest of it all the effects

0:20that'll be

0:21um all the stuff that we'll learn in uh

0:24in the masterclass so

0:26i will run i will play it all together

0:28first and then afterwards i'll solo each

0:31track

0:32and show you how they all sound

0:33separately

0:35one by one so

0:36i'm just gonna press play and we're just

0:38gonna listen to this for the first

0:39couple of minutes

0:41[Music]

0:48[Music]

1:03so

1:06[Music]

1:42[Music]

1:45so

1:48[Music]

2:13[Music]

2:42do

2:43[Music]

2:57do

3:00[Music]

3:14all right so um

3:16that's in context um as a piece of music

3:20um so let's just break it down

3:23um and go through one by one to the

3:24first

3:26well it's not an order i'll just show

3:27you

3:28the first one

3:30here

3:32okay so

3:33if i double click on the midi track

3:36first

3:39that's how the midi clip looks

3:44all right

3:47so it's just um

3:51just full like that

3:56all right

4:00so i'm going to just double click now

4:03on the actual track itself

4:05so i'm going to have a little look

4:08so

4:09i've got an arpeggiator

4:11and it's a drum rack with a few things

4:14so let's have a listen to that

4:21so complete random

4:23every time it's different

4:27[Music]

4:30play with the kick drum

4:32[Music]

4:35very nice

4:39[Music]

4:41nice so that's the um

4:44that's basically a drum rack being

4:46triggered

4:47by an arpeggiator um randomly and then

4:50we have this expression control

4:52randomly affecting a few other things

4:55then also i've got this random thing

4:57here which is basically

4:59um

5:00choosing how often it goes to certain

5:02areas

5:03in the drum rack

5:05and then a lot of post-processing

5:08so that's how that one sounds

5:11um

5:12so next thing i want to do is go to the

5:14next one so

5:16i believe the next one is here

5:20okay so let's um

5:21what is it this one well yeah no

5:24they're both part of it so let's have a

5:25listen to this one

5:29[Music]

5:37all right

5:46okay so this is just um

5:49kind of pitch modulated thing

5:51so i think lfo is mucking around with

5:53the coarse pictures

5:56and you've got an arpeggiator randomly

5:58throwing all over the place

6:00and then also you got a bit of loop

6:04looped envelope

6:06stuff

6:10see that moving around

6:16all right so

6:18let's go to the next one

6:33uh quite a similar thing so we're having

6:35um

6:37we've got a frequency shifter this time

6:39with the uh symlon hold randomizer

6:43um set to the sequence and then a couple

6:46of other photos mucking around the

6:47course values

6:48and arpeggiators randomizing

6:52uh here as well

6:54and then we've got a looped envelope so

6:57that's some post-production on that too

7:00that's similar to this one here

7:02so now i've got this other one here

7:06so this one i'm using the probability

7:08arp

7:10and then this melodic probability

7:13and also the expression control

7:16so

7:18the probability arp

7:21is basically

7:24is randomizing

7:25[Music]

7:27randomizing the octaves it's using it's

7:29randomizing the style it's randomizing

7:32the length

7:34and then here

7:37it's kind of running through a couple of

7:39patterns here

7:42and then i'm randomizing

7:45with the expression control

7:47a load of things on the operator

7:49and also put some post-production stuff

7:51as well so what i'm going to do is just

7:52play

7:54let's play all that stuff together

8:02that's it yes that's full

8:06[Music]

8:16do

8:21[Music]

8:45it's all pretty mad but you can hear in

8:47context it sounds pretty cool um

8:50and uh

8:51this is some of my favorite stuff to do

8:52in ableton um

8:54and you could

8:56do this kind of stuff in pretty much any

8:58door really i'm pretty sure they all

8:59have

9:00their equivalent

9:02counterparts

9:04um

9:05so yeah there's your demonstration on to

9:08um

9:09on to now the actual tutorials where

9:11i'll show you how to make each one of

9:12these patches so let's um

9:15vamos
