2:18I have not seen like any difficulty with
2:20it so far must be nice to be a male
2:23planning for the wedding you haven't
2:24rsvped yet and it's $80 per plate Darren
2:29i' would say the hardest for me is some
2:30honestly some of the prices I just don't
2:33CU you're a Frugal guy does it hurt you
2:35to see like flowers are
2:37$3,000 that for me was was something I
2:40couldn't wrap my mind around because I I
2:41thought I could just go to Trader Joe's
2:43or grocery store there why wouldn't I do
2:45that for 500 I could be all in so I
2:47think we're probably going to do that or
2:49just get married in a Trader Joe's oh
2:51the other thing you could do free um the
2:53Edible Arrangements and you get a whole
2:55bunch of those you get like 15 of those
2:57things put those as the centerpiece
3:01do you have a ring bear yet I yes I
3:03think we do I think it's Macy's younger
3:05brother do you need a backup possibly
3:07flower girl yeah we got a flower girl
3:09dang it I'm running out of options here

3:36betrothed and Jack being an eligible

3:39spicy takes from each of you on so uh
3:42Graham I know you had your fiance on ice
3:44coffee hour and talked about prenups
3:47what did Jack think of this conversation
3:49okay so Graham is very much the type
3:51where he likes prenups I don't think I
3:53have such a Firm Stance on it obviously
3:55I would probably prefer a prenup but
3:58it's not anything where I draw a hard
3:59line prup is super romantic a prup says
4:01I'm going to marry you even though I
4:03don't trust you at all I tell Jack if
4:05you don't sign a prup your prup becomes
4:07the state you're basically
4:10giving the state you have a prenup I
4:12know but I do I do think like if if my
4:16marriage were to fail I have culpability
4:18in that just like if you get in a car
4:20crash it's your fault so that's not a
4:23reason not to have insurance you have to
4:25get home owners insurance car insurance
4:27I think it's a little bit different than
4:28a car crash like I think that a marriage
4:30just kind of like veers off into like a
4:32it can it absolutely can just like a car
4:34accident might not be your fault hit you
4:37you could hit you could both be at fault
4:40I get it but also like think about from
4:42the woman's perspective this is me this
4:44is me this is because I I was back to do
4:46a quarter if the woman joins me for a
4:49period of time in my life we spend years
4:51together she dedicates time effort
4:54resources Etc then you're likey it's
4:56fine look it's fine and and here's the
4:58thing like I don't put money on the
5:00pedestal super high like I think it's
5:02important but cuz you're like well I'll
5:04go make more money it's fine if she
5:05takes me to the cleaners right that's
5:06all the YouTube comments when we talk
5:08about marriage like marriage exists for
5:10women to take you to the cleaners I
5:11don't know why they all sound like that
5:12in my head but they do so here's the
5:14thing in a prenup you could specify what
5:16you two as a couple believe is fair and
5:18how you're going to divide things
5:19there's so much Nuance that goes into a
5:22marriage and in business who owns what
5:25let's just say as an example the iced
5:27coffee hour let's just say that grows
5:29from 1 million to 10 million subscribers
5:31during your marriage and you guys split
5:34how do you divide your portion of the
5:36business with her oh you specify that in
5:39a prenup that's why I I would prefer a
5:42prenup but it's not anything that I'm
5:44like drawing a not aill you're GNA die
5:46but it also is a concern if I'm like hey
5:48you know you want to do a prup and she's
5:49like no I don't want to do one I'm like
5:51okay well that's that's you bring early
5:54and it brings up so many amazing
5:55conversations that I I've never thought
5:58about Macy and I are on the same page
5:59when it comes to money but going through
6:02this has brought up so many nuanced
6:03conversations I never thought about in
6:06my life but it also removes an obstacle
6:08that exists for divorce which I think is
6:10extremely important I think as you get
6:11married As you move in together as you
6:13have kids as you have pets all of those
6:15things are more boundaries and obstacles
6:17that prevent you from divorcing and I'm
6:19a firm believer it's like if you choose
6:20to live the rest of your life with
6:21someone realistically you should be able
6:23to overcome those obstacles and you need
6:25those obstacles to prevent you from
6:27separating so you once you surpass them
6:29then you're like more confident in the
6:31relationship and you've been through
6:33more it makes you a more like solid
6:34relationship prup I think solidifies
6:37your relationship even more it makes it
6:39easier to divorce if the person wants to
6:41leave because they know the terms
6:42there's no arguing there's no nothing
6:44and then you know the person is with you
6:46saying he doesn't want it to be the
6:47Apple terms and conditions but it's not
6:49it's not going to be that it's that you
6:50have the Assurance to know that the
6:52person is with you for you all the terms
6:54are laid out there if they want to walk
6:55away I'm not anti prenup I'm not anti
6:58prup you're strawmanning me I said I
7:00prefer a prup but like I said it's not
7:02anything where it's like my point
7:04everyone has a prup it's do you leave it
7:06to the state or do you decide on terms
7:08that are right for you and your spouse
7:10MH and that's what it and it's got to be
7:11fair so you can't just say I'm going to
7:13keep everything if you guys got married
7:14you need a prenup just based on this big
7:17no here's the thing if we got married we
7:18would be together for the Long Haul
7:20that's let's let's just establish that
7:21Jack and I have a very strict business
7:23agreement oh yeah there's a contract
7:25exactly and so just like you have a
7:27contract in business you would also have
7:28a contract ra for a partner no that
7:31makes sense I'm going to give Jack a
7:32plus one because he used culpability so
7:34smoothly in a sentence that that's not
7:36fair I use big words too yeah
7:39responsibility respons that that's fair
7:42okay riddle me this can a relationship
7:44survive if one person is a spender and
7:46the other one is a saver cuz you said
7:48you and Macy both Frugal yeah what if
7:50Macy was an outrageous spender do you
7:51think you could still be with her I
7:54don't know probably not it it would be
7:56different if that changed over time like
7:58initially she was like really Frugal and
8:00maybe like life happens and maybe I
8:03don't know opinions change expectations
8:06possibly but I think it would there'd
8:08have to be some ground there might have
8:10to be some compromise but what I'm
8:12hearing is you might have to do a
8:14budget hopefully not but a budget why
8:20wouldn't that solve it though if they
8:21said here's the budget here's Macy's
8:23spending here's Graham spending there
8:24would be a breaking point but it would
8:26go both ways if I were so Frugal to the
8:28point where it's like hey we're not
8:29going out we're not you know going on
8:32trips we can't do anything we're going
8:33to be inside and save every dollar that
8:36would be a breaking point I'm sure for
8:37Macy just like if she were to say oh I
8:39want to spend this and this and this and
8:41this there' be a Breaking Point at both
8:43extremes and so can we come to a
8:45compromise I tend to believe that you
8:46know everything I've experienced so far
8:48yes there would be a compromise so you
8:50notoriously both of you don't do a
8:51budget but if you were to do one and you
8:53were to have Graham's fun money line
8:55item Macy's fun money line item what
8:57would you say would be a fair allocation
8:59to those line items it's a few grand a
9:01month when you tally everything up and
9:03I'm talking like this is what we're
9:04getting into right now but you would
9:06have no qus with Macy being like all
9:07right I'm gonna spend four grand this
9:09month on whatever I want I think that's
9:11indicative of like a deeply rooted issue
9:13if that's what she but if you both
9:14agreed to it that's all yeah it it would
9:16depend on what if she came to was like I
9:19really want to spend four grand on I'm
9:21just throwing ideas out there lemon
9:24leggings I would probably get a year
9:25Supply spend no it would realistically I
9:28know Mac would be like house stuff she'd
9:30say oh Decor yeah she wants to paint the
9:32front door to me it's just like I don't
9:34paint the front door you got to you got
9:37to get you start with the front door and
9:38then what's next you know what I mean
9:40back door back door and cabinets and and
9:43front door again she wants new
9:44Landscaping I know new Landscaping to do
9:46it right is going to be like 20 grand 20
9:48grand to do oh yeah if you want night
9:50professional grade landscape we're
9:51talking like redoing the backyard pool
9:54the light no that's more that's more
9:55money 20 grand to redo the I paid a
9:57thousand for my baby little front yard
10:00yeah this I mean but you know we're
10:02doing a desert we're doing a desert
10:03landscape with like lighting and stuff
10:05like that so got thatone I could wrap my
10:07mind around that saying like Okay plant
10:10the seed now and maybe in a year like
10:12throw some cash aside and get it done
10:15opposing view cuz you're you're more of
10:17you're more frugal I would you're a
10:18little more spendy than Graham uh I
10:20would say I'm Jack's more frugal than me
10:22it depends on what Starbucks every day
10:25no like I'm cool with getting guacamole
10:27on my Chipotle I'm fine with paying a
10:29little bit extra I'm fine with getting
10:30Starbucks every day but if we're going
10:32to go sleep at an Airbnb and one's $100
10:34more than the other and it's like in a
10:35night that doesn't matter to me got it
10:37so it it depends Frugal in in different
10:39ways I think it depends on the level of
10:42importance that each person in the
10:43relationship have to it right so like if
10:44one person thinks it's extremely
10:46important to be frugal the other person
10:48extremely important to be a spender then
10:49it's not going to work out but if you're
10:51kind of like wishy-washy and you can
10:52kind of like form to the other person I
10:54think that's great that's fine how about
10:55this one would you date someone who is
10:57still financially dependent on their
10:59parents let's say they're out of college
11:02maybe they didn't go to college maybe
11:04they're working but if I'm bullish on
11:06their career and I'm bullish on like
11:09their ambition and stuff like that then
11:11yes but I would have to have a true test
11:12to like why are you dependent on your
11:14parents is it for valid or invalid
11:17reasons and then see kind of where it
11:19goes from there okay it's not a it's
11:21like it is a red flag but it's not a
11:22deal breaker I would say to what extent
11:24it wouldn't be a deal breaker red flag
11:26to me I think it just depends some
11:27parents really just love to taking care
11:29of the kids and so why would you deprive
11:31your parents of that you know joy that
11:33they get from being able to provide I
11:35think it just depends on the situation
11:36Dave Ramsey likes to say an eagle that
11:38doesn't leave the nest is called a
11:39turkey you know so there's a level of
11:41like eventually you have to become your
11:43own person become an adult so I
11:45understand that now there's people who
11:46call in the Ramy show and they say hey
11:48I'm trying to pay off all this debt I'm
11:49still Liv with my parents until I can
11:51pay it off you know there's situations
11:53yeah right but there's also the like if
11:55it's going to take you seven years just
11:56go out get a job get some roommates you
11:58know you did this this you had a house
11:59at what you were 21 on the cusp of 22
12:02when you got your first home you had
12:03roommates and you were financially
12:05independent m not needing your I do
12:07think it is a less attractive trait than
12:09a more attractive trait to still be yes
12:12to be fair are you still on your parents
12:13phone
12:15bill this is a nuanced answer not no
12:18hold on no no stop don't you dare this
12:20is not this is not question thanks for
12:23bringing this up I watched Caleb Hammer
12:26I'm yeah oh jeez I'm sorry okay so on
12:29their phone built but I give my dad a
12:31kickback every month so I send him
12:32$32.50 because I got grandfathered in on
12:35like a very old deal so it's a kickback
12:38I give him the money that's how much it
12:39it costs but actually we did get
12:41unlimited recently and before we
12:43actually had limited data so I think
12:44it's actually increased but I still sent
12:45him the $32 so I actually probably
12:47closer to 40 okay so by Kickback you
12:49mean you're paying your phone bill
12:50you're just on your parents we estimated
12:52what my you acted like he was getting
12:54some Grand reward
12:56for well you know it's do you think your
12:59spouse should know about all assets and
13:01accounts I think it depends for me no
13:04because there's so many it's just like
13:06it it would be like I struggle with it
13:09like I you can't keep up I I'm sure
13:11there are accounts that I don't even
13:12know about so in my what do you mean
13:14what kind of account I open up every
13:16single account you could imagine just to
13:18try it out what kind of accounts what do
13:20you mean what type of accounts like like
13:21are we talking bank accounts oh yeah
13:23credit card oh Bank bank accounts I I've
13:25wh Whitted them down so like at one
13:27point I had more than 10 bank accounts
13:29oh my gosh you're like storing money in
13:32multiple high yield savings all kinds of
13:34things right because I would yield Chase
13:36so like I'd move from one account to
13:37another to another but ke to go from 4%
13:39to 4 and a half% yeah yeah but then the
13:41issue at the end of the year came that I
13:43was spending more money on accountants
13:46to trting in 1099 from like 11 different
13:49places than I was making sometimes an
13:51interest to keep the account open like
13:53some of the accounts would send me at
13:54$199 would get like 20 buckss in inch
13:56it's like it's not worth it so I've been
13:59you pay an account in 100 bucks to deal
14:00with a $20 income it's not worth it so
14:02in my case no but I'd say in most cases
14:05I think Financial transparency is good
14:08uh maybe it doesn't have to be a 100% of
14:10like hey I open up this you know bank
14:13account with $20 in it but there should
14:14of it is intentional you're just like I
14:16got a lot going on yeah okay how about
14:18you jack yeah I would say they should
14:20probably know about all the accounts
14:21like it doesn't need to be all the small
14:23accounts if it's like a negligible
14:24amount but I would say for the most part
14:26yeah okay transparency it's just being
14:28honest relationship that's like the
14:29Pinnacle the Hallmark of a good
14:31relationship honesty there you go some
14:33relationship advice from our Bachelor
14:35friend he's single take it from our from
14:38Guy does noten it's his birthday today
14:41on his birthday nonetheless have some
14:43class is it acceptable to ask someone
14:46you're dating for financial help oh oh
14:49so you're you you're dating a lovely
14:50woman maybe one day and you're like hey
14:54I need to borrow a th000 bucks what am I
14:56what am I borrowing it for Lord knows
14:59the stuff you get
15:00into how long have I been dating her I
15:03don't know if she's doing Robin Hood
15:04calls I probably you would do that cuz
15:08that's like yeah you know what I mean
15:10prob has a better chance than I have
15:11honestly with the Robin Hood calls that
15:12was a bad example but but I probably
15:15would I just find it unattractive it's
15:17like whether or not do I find this thing
15:18attractive or unattractive it's highly
15:20unattractive if she has to ask me for
15:21money but I would cross that bridge when
15:23it presented itself how would you feel
15:25if your partner earned significantly
15:26more than you totally fine all right I
15:28wouldn't care yeah I don't I don't
15:30understand the guys you're like no I I
15:32need to be the one who worken is that an
15:33alpha it's Alpha Behavior it sounds like
15:35it's compensating Behavior it's like why
15:38it is is your mascul masculinity
15:40threatened because someone else is doing
15:42better yeah that's that's what mascula
15:45thing you know what I mean it sounds
15:46like to feel like your masculinity is
15:48threatened I also think it's
15:49unattractive when people place all of
15:51their value in their like financial
15:53status you know what I mean it's just
15:54like oh I'm making more money than you
15:55or if a guy is like embarrassed cuz his
15:57girlfriend's making more than him I
15:59think that's an like an unattractive
16:01wouldn't that be a great trait that she
16:03is successful and driven and ambitious I
16:05think a lot of guys have the fear where
16:07if they do better then all of a sudden
16:09they're going to leave oh and so it's
16:11maybe like why am I going to dat this
16:14loser when I'm making more money and
16:16maybe maybe the power Dynamic shifts
16:18she's the one calling the shots and the
16:20guy doesn't like that I don't know to me
16:22it doesn't B like if she was dating you
16:23for your income and all of a sudden she
16:25doesn't need that anymore and your
16:26personality is bunk right I feel like in
16:29the relationship flawed to you guys
16:30don't have to worry about that you're
16:32attractive successful men we're doing
16:34okay here let's move on is it acceptable
16:36for your partner to spend large sums of
16:38money without consulting you and if so
16:39what is that number I would say if it's
16:41if it's her
16:43money
16:44then no it's I wouldn't be bothered by
16:47it def find her money let's say we're
16:49fast forwarding the marriage is you know
16:51going great we're married officially is
16:53it our money at that point for me it's
16:55different I think it's it's mine hers
16:58ours
16:59where she will have the freedom to spend
17:02her money however she wants I never want
17:04to be able to question like hey what was
17:06this charge I'm like that even with
17:08myself like going through even like the
17:10iced coffee hour credit card is like you
17:12know or Alex had a credit card I go
17:15through that credit card and be like
17:16what was this what I'm talking like
17:17stupid $20 charges I never want to do
17:19that with a spouse how about you jack
17:21agree disagree like my money her money
17:24our money or or would you combine all
17:26bank accounts I probably
17:28would yeah maybe I'm just naive see but
17:31I I probably would it depends it's like
17:33if I found the person I want to spend
17:34the rest of my life with and I'm 100%
17:36confident and I know this is my person I
17:38I can't say yes or no CU I haven't been
17:39there yet but I like to think hopefully
17:42fingers crossed I find that person and I
17:45am so confident that I'm fine with that
17:46that's beautiful well I mean we have a
17:48very simple life my wife and I we have
17:51one joint checking account we have a
17:53savings connected to it and we have our
17:54high yield savings that is it that's our
17:56entire life we have budget line items
17:58for her fun money my fun money so we
18:00found it works for us you know but I
18:02understand a lot of people come from
18:03different backgrounds philosophies but
18:06we found that it it causes most
18:08transparency when there's one account
18:10that we all share and we understand
18:12what's in the budget and that becomes
18:13the you know tells us how we're going to
18:15spend that month I have a question
18:16George yeah if she came to you and she
18:18was like Hey look there's a great sign
18:20up bonus on the MX Platinum I really
18:23want to do it okay I'm going to spend
18:25the money anyways
18:27120
18:28scenario are you okay with this what
18:30would you say no we would have a huge
18:32fight why but it's huge fight free money
18:35number one like part of the reason I was
18:38attracted to Whitney part of the reason
18:39we got married was because we aligned on
18:42our financial philosophies our money
18:44values one of those values is we are a
18:46family that doesn't use credit cards we
18:48value living a debt-free lifestyle even
18:50if we can pay it off every month it's
18:51not worth the reward to play the games
18:54of a broken system so that's just how we
18:56see it it's not a moral stance of like
18:58we're better than anyone is we found our
19:00life is simpler that way and we haven't
19:02missed the rewards we just budget for
19:03things save up for things uh so that's
19:06how we've we've lived our life but if
19:07she came to me and she was like Hey saw
19:08this great offer should we do it I would
19:10have a heart tohe heart and be like
19:12what's the heart behind this what is
19:13this offer why can't we just budget and
19:15save and pay for it it's not worth the
19:17risk we' have to spend $15,000 to get
19:20these free points it's not you know the
19:22juice ain't worth the squeeze so I would
19:24try to have a real conversation and not
19:25be just be combative for no reason but
19:28let's say you have a new landscape you
19:31know expense coming up it's 15 grand I
19:33wouldn't do it I just wouldn't i' found
19:36a new guy let's just say there's a
19:37$115,000 expense that you have to pay it
19:40is coming up a health expense a health
19:42expense 15 grand Y and there's a credit
19:44card out there that says if you spend 15
19:46grand we'll give you
19:48$5,000 back and you have the option to
19:52cancel the card when you get the $5,000
19:55back would you do it no I can can say
19:58that with great confidence that I just
20:00wouldn't number one we have an emergency
20:01fund that has more than 15 grand in it
20:04and so that would be yes it would suck
20:05to pay that if it was a true emergency
20:07which Landscaping is not an emercy it's
20:10not Landscaping but if it was a true
20:12emergency we would use the emergency
20:14fund to cover it and even though you
20:16would not be getting an extra $5,000
20:18back I wouldn't lose any sleep over it
20:20because there's always fine print
20:22there's always risk and it's just one
20:25more thing to manage in my life and I
20:27found that I already have natural amount
20:28of anxiety and less accounts less things
20:31to worry about has just led me to a more
20:33peaceful life and so it would not be
20:35worth to squeeze and I think there's
20:36always a catch with the five
20:38grand you would hopefully get what
20:41purchases are you hesitant or ashamed to
20:43share with your spouse nothing she knows
20:45she knows everything I spent money on
20:47and it's not much I mean has have there
20:49ever been things where she's like what
20:51you spent money all that like that's
20:53even if it's laughable no I don't think
20:55so at all okay no how about you if there
20:58was something Jack you're like this is
21:00probably my most I wouldn't be
21:01embarrassed it's more of a matter of
21:02fact thing but subscriptions that I no
21:04longer use that I just forgot to cancel
21:07oh yeah those will get you yeah it's
21:09just being me being irresponsible you

22:55name wow right this is amazing and so
22:58when I ask a question you'll raise the
23:01person's name that the question most
23:03describes okay all right so if you think
23:06hey Graham's The Frugal one you're going
23:07to hold up Graham's name got it cool and
23:10you have to be honest yeah this is a
23:12familyfriendly show we don't lie on this
23:13show it's a family value we hold honesty
23:16okay who's more likely to burn down the

26:25animal Jack likes to party all right who
26:27eats more junk food Jack likes the junk
26:30food who's
26:32louder Jack is the louder one these are
26:34easy ones who's more likely to get lost
26:37oh I guess you can't get lost now yeah
26:40no GPS who's going to find their way
26:42home with no GPS oh we've always had GPS
26:45never been an issue we never tested I
26:46think I have a better sense of direction
26:47but he's more stru shows your age okay
26:49we've never yeah you never had to open
26:51up the old Rand MCN on the road trip
26:53since I was like 15 heard that word you
26:56know I used to go on map quest
26:58printed out Map Quest is a Vibe did that
27:00it's an entire Vibe yeah when I first
27:02started driving his Map Quest and I like
27:04study it before driving I'm like okay go

27:07you had to like use your brain more and
27:10that's why Jack is less intelligent
