0:00all right so now let's talk about

0:01company information that's our first

0:03that's the first thing that we'll be

0:04looking at so as soon as we

0:07register in the developer edition org a

0:09user is set up for us right along with

0:11that a company information

0:14the company information is also set up

0:17so if you see the organization name is

0:19set up as the company name that we

0:20provided the primary contact is set to

0:22my name the address is based on the

0:24information i gave

0:26and if you see based on the address a

0:28default local language and time zone

0:30select

0:31right but what we can also do is we can

0:33change this

0:34based on our current settings so let me

0:36just quickly go ahead and edit it

0:39and what i'll do is i'll just change

0:41this to

0:42india

0:44and here default locale can be changed

0:46to

0:50english

0:52india

0:53default language will be english and

0:55i'll just change the default time zone

0:56to gmt plus 530

0:59this right here right and i can change

1:02the currency to

1:03inr right so i just changed all the

1:06relevant information that i deemed

1:08visible based on the information that i

1:10had and i just click on save so once i

1:12click on save the information is updated

1:14based on my preferences right so this is

1:16the

1:17company information that it holds

1:19alongside company information there are

1:20some key parameters that this specific

1:23section holds the first thing is the

1:25salesforce.com org id now every org

1:28that's created has a specific unique

1:31identifier which is called your org id

1:33now this is a 15 digit id and this lets

1:36salesforce identify

1:38what is your org actually so a simple

1:40use case would be if you have any issues

1:42if you have any if you're facing any

1:43limitations from this

1:45salesforce software you can connect with

1:47the support team and all they'll ask you

1:49is for the salesforce.com organization

1:51id because this will help them ensure

1:53what organi you talking about which is

1:55this right here and then they can you

1:57know debug and uh reproduce the issue

1:59that you are having and then can provide

2:01you a solution that's one use case apart

2:03from that if you are doing some third

2:04party integrations which are org

2:06specific you can definitely use this use

2:08this id as an as a unique identifier

2:11all right and if you see the org edition

2:13is developer edition we'll talk about

2:15editions in a while but developer

2:16edition is the only free edition that

2:18you get and you don't have to pay

2:20anything to salesforce but it comes with

2:21limitations talking about those

2:23limitations if you see the limitation is

2:26you get limited number of licenses to

2:28use so every user in salesforce as you

2:31might already know has is a assigned to

2:33a license and that's what you know

2:35that's how salesforce earns right

2:37salesforce sells user licenses that let

2:39you log into salesforce

2:41so the most prominent and the most

2:43extensive license salesforce has is the

2:45salesforce user license and if you see

2:48our system administrator user or the

2:50user that i'm logged in as has the

2:51salesforce license provided and which is

2:53why if you see out of the two total

2:55licenses that we have one is already

2:57consumed and only one is remaining now

2:59for developer edition orgs you just get

3:01two licenses here and you cannot you

3:03know extend this to 5 or 10 and you

3:05cannot even request salesforce to do

3:07that because this is the this is why the

3:09developer edition org is free it comes

3:11with a limitation of just two salesforce

3:12licenses and a limited storage storage

3:15section provided to you it's roughly 200

3:17mb

3:18all right

3:19coming back to this first section we

3:21talked about our id we talked about the

3:23org edition if you see this an instance

3:26that is called um8 all right so this

3:28instance is nothing but the actual

3:30central location of this org wherever it

3:33it it is stored in the cloud right it's

3:34not stored in your machine or my machine

3:37right so it's stored somewhere and

3:39wherever it is stored it is represented

3:41or known as known under the instance you

3:43are made

3:44all right

3:45we'll talk about instances and additions

3:47in hawaii

3:48need not worry

3:49down below we have something called user

3:51licenses now each user license is

3:53available to solver or solve or provide

3:55you a specific purpose like if you want

3:57your users to be external users or they

3:59just want to be you know guest users or

4:01they want to be users who access only

4:03the portals you probably you know give

4:05them the customer portal the customer

4:06community plus licenses the community

4:08login licenses if you want these users

4:10to you know access the whole of

4:12salesforce you probably want them to use

4:13the salesforce license or the salesforce

4:15platform license if you just want them

4:17to you know uh

4:18talk to one another you could probably

4:20use something called the

4:21something that's specific to chatter

4:23which is internal collaboration tool

4:24that salesforce provides right so these

4:26are specific user licenses that are

4:28available and if you see there are 23

4:30such licenses and apart from that you

4:32have some add-ons available so under

4:34add-ons you have something called

4:35permission set licenses you have

4:37something called feature licenses so

4:39based on a specific plugin or a specific

4:41add-on that you need your users to be

4:43you know be capable of doing you can use

4:45these type of licenses so based you have

4:48a primary user license assigned to your

4:49user and on top of it you can assign

4:51some more licenses using these

4:53permission set licenses and feature

4:54licenses all right remember one user can

4:57only be assigned one user license but

4:59they can definitely be assigned multiple

5:01permission set or multiple feature

5:03license right now if i am working as a

5:05system administrator i'll be provided

5:07the salesforce license that's the only

5:09license i can use i cannot have

5:10salesforce and salesforce platform

5:12license together okay but if my team

5:15also wants me to specifically look into

5:17the crm side of the world they'll give

5:19me access to the crm user permission set

5:21license by assigning this permission set

5:22to me and they'll also give me something

5:25from the feature set let's say the sales

5:27for crm content user so

5:30i can have these two as add-ons that

5:32will let me perform or do a specific

5:34kind of uh

5:35task or

5:36get access to a specific kind of module

5:38in salesforce but the key license that

5:40i'll be assigned to will be the

5:42salesforce license and this can only be

5:43one at a time for a user

5:46all right you cannot have multiple

5:47mapped so a user can be assigned just

5:49one license but a single license can be

5:51assigned to multiple users make sense

5:55great now let's talk about

5:58the org id

5:59i mean the organization editions and the

6:02instances what do these mean
