0:15any chronological order and that we
0:18would take one set from before the
0:22prophet saws time and then we'd kind of
0:23mix it up
0:25and I changed my mind inshallah we're
0:28going to take a very heavy emphasis from
0:31the seera to start this off and we're
0:34going to really look at this from the
0:35seed of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
0:37wasallam and focus on that for some time
0:40and then we'll go after before and jump
0:43around but what compelled me to this was
0:46that I kept on thinking who do we start
0:48the series with
0:50and I got drawn into the story of
0:53warakab nunofel because waraka is a very
0:55interesting character because
0:58he the first Muslim was he not a Muslim
1:01did he accept the prophet saws did he
1:03live long enough what's the story of
1:05waraka before those moments did the
1:07prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam ever
1:10have a conversation with before all of
1:13these questions about waratah and so I
1:16decided to go to a man that I've spoken
1:19about quite a bit within khutbas and and
1:22different classes and lectures
1:24but I've never really got gotten to
1:27highlight his biography in full
1:30and he's a companion of waraka and he's
1:33he's just a remarkable figure all around
1:36and he deserves this level of attention
1:39and he deserves to be the first and of
1:41course I thought about doing Khadijah
1:43first but then people would have accused
1:45me of being biased because of my
1:46daughter so I decided that we'll do
1:49Khadijah third for a reason the man is
1:58an absolutely remarkable figure in the
2:01history of Islam has a story unlike any
2:05other person from The Companions of the
2:07Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam there
2:09is truly nothing like him and he belongs
2:13to this group of people
2:15that were called the hunatha or the
2:18hanifin not the hanafis I know that the
2:21followers
2:23would want this to be that the first
2:25Muslims were hanafi but it's a different
2:27type they're hanif
2:29meaning they were monotheists a group of
2:32four monotheists that decided that they
2:36wanted to follow the religion of Ibrahim
2:39they wanted to follow the way of Abraham
2:42they looked at their context in Mecca
2:45and they were deeply troubled by the
2:47paganism and the idol worship and so
2:49they decided that something is wrong
2:51about this
2:53and they couldn't quite figure out what
2:55it what the right path would be but at
2:58least these four men decided amongst
3:00themselves that we're not going to
3:02follow the dominant Pagan culture in
3:05Mecca and we're going to look for
3:07something else now they were four
3:10they were earthmadais I'm only going to
3:13do two of them in detail was one of them
3:16he became a Christian and he went to
3:19Rome and he actually took up a position
3:21amongst the Romans so he kind of
3:23disappears from the from the story of
3:25Islam very early on because he moved out
3:28of Mecca very early on accepted the
3:31religion of Christianity as a result of
3:33his rejection of paganism and became you
3:36know a minister amongst the Romans and
3:39kind of disappears and falls off there
3:42is
3:44whose story is uh is very interesting
3:48because he becomes Christian as well
3:50in this context in this climate then
3:53when the prophet saws
3:54brings Islam he accepts Islam and he
3:58makes the migration to abyssinia
4:01the Hijra to habasha which is a
4:03Christian land and then the sources seem
4:06to indicate that he became Christian
4:08again and died as a Christian however
4:10the narration that states that has some
4:13issues with it so though it's prominent
4:15in literature that love in Jax left
4:18Islam and became Christian again in
4:20abyssinia and died that way it's not a
4:23confirmed confirmed fact because there
4:27is some issue with the narration but
4:29that's his story now the two that we're
4:32really going to concern ourselves with
4:33and go into detail with are they
4:39who will talk about in depth next week
4:42and to be honest with you I'm excited to
4:43talk about waraka benofa because I
4:45learned a lot going in depth in research
4:48in his life in the last week in
4:50particular
4:51waraka became Christian too
4:54but waraka would become a very specific
4:56type of Christian he would become a
4:59historian priest which was the
5:01Christianity that Salman and fantasy
5:03would follow and we'll talk about that
5:05next week when we get into the story of
5:07warakab nunofa so out of the four
5:11hanifs out of the four monotheists in
5:14Mecca three of them became Christian or
5:17joined some iteration of Christianity
5:20is
5:21never really satisfied with Christianity
5:25or Judaism as he sees it in his time
5:28instead he insists on being a follower
5:31of the way of Ibrahim he's a follower of
5:34Abraham
5:36he's not convinced by Judaism and
5:38Christianity as they exist we're talking
5:40about before the prophet saws has come
5:42along as a prophet but he insists he's a
5:44monotheist
5:45and he will challenge his Society in
5:49very unique ways so let's talk about
5:51this man who is an incredibly remarkable
5:54man subhanallah it's hard not to fall in
5:56love with this man when you study him
5:58and uh
6:00it's it's only fitting that we that we
6:02study him first in the series of the
6:04first just because of how unique his
6:07story is so his name is
6:18it's a higher Clan and he is the first
6:21cousin of um
6:28so just it's always good to connect
6:30these things from a historical
6:31perspective there's Saeed there's okay
6:40um
6:42so that would make
6:44the paternal uncle
6:46of zate
6:48all right
6:50is the first cousin of Umar
6:53he would only have two children one of
6:57them is
6:59who would become one of the ten promised
7:01Paradise
7:02and the other is
7:09so he only has two children one son and
7:13one daughter and we'll get back to her
7:14as well
7:16the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
7:18saw zaids growing up and he was
7:22fascinated by him
7:24the prophet saws never worshiped Idols
7:28who never worshiped Idols but at the
7:31same time they were not challenging idol
7:33worship in society because the prophet
7:35saws had not been called to do that he
7:38had not been called to do that and
7:39perhaps that's the wisdom of Allah that
7:42the prophet saws for 40 years would
7:45establish such credibility and he would
7:47call people to that credibility had he
7:49challenged them he might face the same
7:51repercussions that Zaid would have faced
7:53at this time so the prophet saws has no
7:56calling from Allah to reject idol
7:58worship actively and publicly but he
8:01doesn't worship idols Abu Bakr does not
8:04worship idols
8:06Abu Bakr says I was sitting in my room
8:08as a kid and my father brought an idol
8:11put him in front of me and he said
8:12worship him and ask him for your
8:14sustenance Abu Bakr said I started
8:16talking to him I said uh what's your
8:18name
8:20he said the idol didn't answer me he
8:22said can you do this this and that and
8:25he asked the idol a few questions he
8:27said this makes no sense whatsoever you
8:29can't even help yourself I could tip you
8:31over and you'll break
8:32so Rebecca said I'm not worshiping idols
8:35right
8:36Zaid
8:38on the other hand
8:40says idol worship is uh is is is a
8:44rejection of the way of Ibrahim and Zaid
8:47will challenge his Society in a very
8:50unique way the prophet saws mentions him
8:54that he used to that the prophet saws
8:56remembered being in a gathering and they
9:00served food
9:01they served meat to the people there and
9:03the prophet saws simply passed and then
9:06when it got to Zade Zaid said
9:17he said I will not eat that which was
9:20slaughtered in the name of your idols
9:22and I will not eat except for that which
9:25was slaughtered in the name of Allah
9:27so Zaid takes a very strong stand
9:31in another instance Zaid even became
9:34more emboldened in challenging them
9:37he said to them
9:48he said that this this animal
9:52was provided by Allah Allah created the
9:57animal
9:58and then Allah revealed the sustenance
10:00that was necessary for the animal to be
10:03suitable for Slaughter and then you go
10:06and you sacrifice it in the name of
10:08other than Allah so he's actually
10:11criticizing them at this point and
10:13saying what is wrong with you people how
10:15do you serve this meat how do you
10:17Slaughter this meat in the name of other
10:19than Allah dedicated to the idols what
10:22if it was not for Allah neither the
10:24animal nor the sustenance of the animal
10:26exists
10:30even remembered a very personal instance
10:32and this is narrated by
10:35one thing about the the sahaba is that
10:38when you read in their biographies you
10:40find there were a lot of zades and a lot
10:43of fatimasu a lot of zades and a lot of
10:46fatimas that existed back then but there
10:48was only one Muhammad
10:50but the names you know like hint was a
10:53very common name Zaid was a very common
10:56name Fatima was a very common name
10:59Khadija is unique right so Muhammad and
11:02Khadija are very unique names so the
11:05prophet saws
11:11narrates he says that the prophet saws
11:15in a place near
11:19which is close to Mecca and the prophet
11:21saws was the one serving the food in the
11:24Gathering
11:25so the messenger of Allah is passing out
11:28the food in the Gathering so Zaid
11:29obviously likes the prophet saws as a
11:32person he's a noble young man and he
11:35sees some good characteristics in the
11:37messenger of Allah
11:39so while the prophet saws comes to him
11:42Zaid does not respond aggressively to
11:45him Zaid says to him
11:51he says to him o son of my brother
11:53o son of my brother do not eat from this
11:56it was slaughtered in the name of other
11:58than Allah so he's even speaking to the
12:01prophet saws and Advising the prophet
12:03saws don't eat from this don't serve it
12:06don't participate in any of this they
12:09didn't Hadith assess from that day
12:10onwards the prophet saws never ate from
12:13the meat of quraish or served him so
12:15it's this is the the the the position
12:18that is taking in this Society of Mecca
12:24he's significantly older than the
12:25prophet saws
12:27then comes again Zaid now breaking off
12:32from this group of four even
12:35to be the only one that doesn't become a
12:37Christian but at the same time obviously
12:40he's still considered amongst that group
12:42of people because their Christianity was
12:45uh was still one of tohede and so he
12:48still relates to them he's still
12:49considered amongst the group but zaid's
12:51insistence
12:52Zaid would raise his hands in front of
12:55the Kaaba
12:56and he would say Ibrahim
13:02oh Allah I bear witness that I am on the
13:05religion of Abraham
13:07I am on the religion of Abraham so
13:09imagine walking around the Caravan you
13:11got all the idols around you have this
13:12one man standing in front of the Kaaba
13:15and he's and he's holding his hands in
13:17Dura towards the Kaaba and he's saying
13:20oh Allah bear witness I bear witness
13:23that I am on the religion of Ibrahimovic
13:28says that when the time of Hajj would
13:31come around now their Hajj was a Hajj of
13:33idols and it was a festival to where
13:35these people would make a lot of money
13:37Hajj was their Commerce it was their
13:40money it was their corruption it was
13:42everything to them right because that's
13:44where they got the idols prepared and
13:48you know they prepared they prepared the
13:49the poetry and the festivals and
13:51everything that would take place around
13:52the Hajj at that time and the Allah says
13:57I remember that strange sight of zate
14:01Zade as the festival is carrying out
14:04goes and he puts his hands on the Kaaba
14:07with his back on it I I really
14:08subhanallah when you read these stories
14:10imagine the sight
14:12and he calls out to the people and he
14:14says
14:17o assembly of course
14:22he said I swear that not one of you is
14:25on the religion of Abraham except for me
14:28why because qurais would admit that this
14:31home was built by Ibrahim Islam they
14:33would say it was built by Abraham they
14:35had murals inside the cab of Abraham and
14:38Mary and Jesus they had pictures of them
14:43and they had sculptures of them and
14:44idols and they still took pride in being
14:48descendants of Ibrahim
14:50and Zaid is calling out to them and
14:52saying no one of you is on the religion
14:56of Ibrahim
14:57except for me so he did this and what do
15:01you think people did
15:03they treated him like he was a Madman
15:05right people ignored him
15:07they mocked him they continued to go
15:10along with their way it's not like Zaid
15:12was walking around breaking idols
15:14or being aggressive towards them he
15:16simply was calling out and saying this
15:18is not the religion of Ibrahimovic
15:22just relays this very beautiful and
15:25touching moment
15:26where she says that Zaid
15:29would make suju towards the Kaaba he
15:33prostrate to the Kaaba and the whole
15:35story of Zaid is amazing because he has
15:37no Revelation to guide him he doesn't
15:39know what rakur is what bowing is and
15:42what sujood and what prostration is but
15:45he just subhanallah his intuition he's
15:47guided towards good there's rushed
15:49there's guidance in his actions he knows
15:52to make sajdah to prostrate towards the
15:56Kaaba and she said he would start to cry
15:59and he said to Allah
16:01he said this she was curious that smart
16:04was was a curious young woman she said I
16:06heard him say
16:17if only I knew which of the ways was
16:21most pleasing to you I would Worship You
16:24In accordance with that way but I don't
16:27know I don't know and then he says out
16:31of an excuse to Allah
16:37but I worship you like this oh Allah so
16:40I'm going to do suju then hope that I'm
16:41right
16:42I'm going to prostrate to you and hope
16:44that I'm right now What's significant is
16:46that the Post Council of nicaea
16:49Christians were not doing sujud this
16:51part prostration was no longer a part of
16:52their prayer
16:54so Zaid is exerting himself to think
16:57what would Ibrahim alaihissalam do what
16:59was the religion of Abraham what was the
17:01way of Abraham what is Ibrahim Islam's
17:03life about and and you know he's
17:05focusing he's really honing in on he's
17:07distinguishing distinguishing himself
17:09with what his worship and his sacrifice
17:13which is a part of the ritual of worship
17:16now think about think about what's
17:18happening in Mecca right now they've
17:20taken the rituals of Ibrahim which were
17:23made for monotheism made for to hate and
17:26they've turned all of them into Pagan
17:27rituals the Kaaba was built for the
17:30worship of Allah was supposed to be an
17:34exclusive remembrance of God and the
17:36centering of Allah is the one God and
17:39now they put Idols around the Kaaba
17:41Ibrahim who preached modesty now they do
17:45talath with no clothes around these
17:48idols and they sing all sorts of poetry
17:51of ignorance the animals were supposed
17:53to be slaughtered as a means of
17:55glorifying Allah
17:57say verily my prayer and my sacrifice
18:03my life and my death are all for the
18:06Allah the lord of the worlds and now the
18:09sacrifice is being done in the name of
18:10idols and there's all sorts of you know
18:13some Idols are more valuable than others
18:15so Zaid is seeing this and Zaid is
18:18naturally exerting himself
18:20uh
18:21uh you know away from this now as they
18:25becomes more annoying
18:27the person that would walk up to him and
18:30torture him was none other than his
18:32uncle the father of um
18:36first started to curse him then he would
18:40spit at him then he would beat him then
18:44would call for the other people to beat
18:46him as well
18:48and he made zade's life so difficult
18:52that Zaid could no longer enter into
18:55Mecca except in secrecy when Zaid would
18:58leave Mecca he could only come back in
19:00in secrecy because
19:03would release the sofa he'd release the
19:06you know the thugs to beat on him
19:08any time he said if you see this man
19:10come back into Mecca I want you to beat
19:12him and I want you to teach him a lesson
19:14because was a proud man
19:17and so even though Zaid was not harming
19:19anybody but the fact that he was
19:21challenging these rituals that was the
19:23way of now you know where Allah was
19:25acting out of before he became Muslim
19:28right you've got a problem this is how
19:30you solve it he went to the cabin to
19:32kill the prophet saws the first time
19:34right he said okay I'm confused now I'm
19:36going to go to the cab and just kill him
19:37in front of the cabin
19:38because that's how his father dealt with
19:40the challenge of to hate
19:42um well let me think of that way too and
19:45even the prophet saws was amazed and you
19:47think about what would be told to the
19:49prophet saws later on that your people
19:51will run you out the prophet saws went
19:55up to him and asked him one day he said
19:57yes
20:01why is it that your people hate you so
20:04much you imagine the prophet saws has no
20:08idea what his future holds
20:10and he's talking to this older man who's
20:12challenging
20:13paganism all by himself and declaring
20:16the way of Ibrahim he says why is it
20:18that your people hate you so much and
20:22Zaid responds and he says o son of my
20:25brother it's because I have left their
20:28religion and their Idols for the
20:30religion and the god of Ibrahim
20:32and he and his his ma his motto became
20:37Ibrahim
20:40my Lord is the Lord of Abraham my
20:43religion is the religion of Abraham
20:46people would tell him to become a
20:48Christian become a Jew he would not do
20:49it he you know they took him to rabbis
20:52they took him to priests he won't do it
20:53he's certainly not reverting to paganism
20:55but he's still uh very uh Curious right
21:00but at the same time he has a love and
21:03an attachment Islam he sees it as a
21:07mission
21:08to maintain the way of Ibrahim al-islam
21:10so if you put Zaid in front of a Jew or
21:13a Christian he would he would hold that
21:15Rabbi or that priest up to the litmus
21:17test of what he viewed as Ibrahim when
21:20he criticizes the uh the people he
21:23criticizes them in the name of Ibrahim
21:25so he just has a love for Ibrahim
21:28al-islam and wants to preserve the way
21:30of Abraham and sees that as his
21:32sacrifice now here's where it gets very
21:35interesting about
21:37she says
21:41he used to give life to the young girls
21:43that would be buried alive now obviously
21:46doesn't mean he raises them from the
21:48dead
21:49what is what is she referring to he
21:51would stop the men from burying their
21:54daughters alive
21:56with no guidance from the Quran
22:02when the young girl asks for that was
22:05buried alive asks for what crime was I
22:07killed
22:08Zaid abhorred this practice and he
22:11didn't just say this is not the way of
22:13Ibrahim
22:15Zaid would actually go what and this is
22:18powerful language
22:20says he would give life to them because
22:22it's like he was saving their lives
22:24because otherwise he would have all of
22:26these girls that would be killed
22:28so
22:29what she what she says is that Zade used
22:32to go out
22:34there was a particular area in Mecca and
22:37I visited that area subhanallah where
22:39they where they actually buried the
22:41girls alive they would they put out
22:43ditches and they would bury the girls
22:44alive and this is what Allah talks about
22:47in the Quran
22:50that when they were given the Glad
22:52Tidings of of a girl that they would
22:55hang their heads in shame
22:57and sadness and they would try to hide
23:01from the people because they saw a girl
23:03as poverty they saw a girl a shame
23:06that's the level that these people had
23:09reached and so they would take their
23:11young girls in the middle of the night
23:13and they would bury them alive
23:14subhanallah think about how nasty that
23:16crime is and Zaid knowing that was
23:21disgusted by it
23:22so Zaid would go out at the time in
23:25which they would take their girls out to
23:27bury them and this is what he would say
23:29to them
23:33he would say to the person as they were
23:36taking their girls to bury them alive he
23:38would say
23:42he said don't kill her I will take care
23:44of her and I'll take care of all of our
23:46expenses
23:48so Zaid would take the young girl
23:50he would spend on the girl he would he
23:52would raise the girl and then once this
23:55is subhanallah you know this shows you
23:57the type of character the man has once
24:00she she grew up and she became older he
24:03would go back to the parents and he
24:06would say
24:08look now if you want I can I can return
24:12her back to you or well
24:16if you want I'll take care of marrying
24:19her off as well
24:21so the man was Raising all these young
24:23abandoned girls in Makkah
24:26and then when they reached an age he
24:29would marry he would act as their
24:31wedding he would act as their Guardian
24:33he would find them the right Suitor and
24:36then he would marry them off
24:37like where does that come from
24:40where is that fitra from how is the guy
24:42making sujud
24:44saving young girls from being buried
24:47alive and subhanallah even it's it's
24:50narrated about him
24:52he never committed adultery and he never
24:55drank alcohol and in fact he has a
24:57saying he said
25:00he said Beware of committing adultery
25:02because it Bears poverty in your life
25:06so he even would say that I'm I'm he's
25:08opposed to he's opposed to Zina he's
25:10opposed to adultery and fornication he's
25:13opposed to alcohol so basically I mean
25:16he's living this life in accordance with
25:18the religion that would come after him
25:20and that was the sincerity of his
25:23pursuit of the way of Ibrahim now he
25:27travels the world to try to find
25:28guidance
25:29okay he's on the way of Ibrahim Islam he
25:32says I want the way of Abraham again he
25:35would adopt from Christianity whatever
25:37he felt matched up to the way of Abraham
25:39he'd adopt from Judaism whatever he felt
25:41matched up to the way of Abraham but he
25:43says I am on the way of Ibrahim and him
25:46in warakah went to a sham together so
25:49sham is greater Syria Syria Lebanon
25:52Palestine Jordan he goes there with
25:55waraka waraka of course immerses himself
25:58in in the literature of the Old
26:01Testament and the New Testament in in
26:03the injil the gospel and the Torah
26:06warakah immerses himself he learns
26:08Hebrew he gets very deep into this and
26:10this sort of becomes his life to the
26:12point that warakah becomes a priest
26:15would become a priest uh Zaid on the
26:19other hand uh continues to travel is
26:22never really satisfied with the answers
26:23that he's getting
26:25and he doesn't have the support of his
26:27family
26:28so his uncle tortures him and says don't
26:31come around if you come around then
26:33you'll be beaten and he actually tells
26:36people to beat him if they see him
26:38entering into Mecca again and his wife
26:40would would become stressed anytime he
26:43would say I'm going to Hashem because
26:46while the people went out to Hashem for
26:48trade Zaid would go out to learn more
26:50and to try to try to answer these
26:52questions that were nagging at him about
26:54Revelation and about the Oneness of God
26:57and Ibrahim
26:59so his wife is trying to stop him from
27:02leaving his uncle saying don't come back
27:04and he's torn and he's going around and
27:10um
27:11he goes to two places that are very that
27:13are noteworthy he goes to mosul
27:16which if you remember in Iraq the story
27:18of of Salman and Pharisee Salman also
27:21went to mohsen Iraq so he went to Mosa
27:24to study their Christianity in mosul
27:26and then he went to Asha
27:29and when he went to Hashem he did what
27:32Salman did he said take me to the most
27:35knowledgeable raheb I want the most
27:37knowledgeable scholar amongst you
27:40so they take him to the most
27:41knowledgeable scholar amongst you
27:44and after Zaid has argued with rabbis
27:46and Priests about religion he comes to
27:50this man and he tells this man what he's
27:52looking for and what he wants and this
27:54says to Zaid he says that the one that
27:58you're looking for is due to come out
28:01from the land that you left
28:03go back to Mecca go back to where you
28:07come from and this Nabi this Prophet is
28:10there is is going to be sent now and
28:12subhanallah he tells him what was told
28:15to Salman but the last the last part of
28:17the Journey of Salman was back in Hashem
28:19and the scholar told him no one's on
28:21Military Ibrahim anymore but go back to
28:24or he told them go to this land and he
28:26gave him the description and he said
28:28that there's a prophet that will soon
28:30come out so Zaid this tells him listen
28:33the one that you're waiting for or the
28:35the prophet that you're waiting for is
28:37due to come out from the very same land
28:41so Zaid gets excited
28:44he turns back towards Mecca he has no
28:48idea that that young man Muhammad who he
28:51used to call IBN my cousin
28:54um you know and saw such Noble he had no
28:56idea that that was going to be the one
28:58that was going to be the prophet or the
28:59messenger but he's making his way back
29:01uh to Mecca so that he can await for
29:05this prophet
29:06on his way back
29:09he is captured by Highway robbers
29:13they steal everything he has and he's so
29:17close he's in a land called belka very
29:20close to Mecca very close so he's made
29:22it out of hasham he's getting so close
29:25and he's captured they steal everything
29:28that he has and after they steal
29:31everything that he has they decide to
29:33kill him and cast his body to the side
29:36subhanallah think of all this
29:39and Zaid was around the age of 85 years
29:43old at this time
29:45so you've spent your whole life
29:48on the way of Ibrahim trying to find the
29:51way of my son you're told finally in the
29:54same land where you were the lone voice
29:56defending monotheism
29:59that the prophet is coming out there and
30:02then you're going back there and now
30:04you're about to be killed
30:06while Zaid was about to be killed he
30:09made this beautiful Dua made the
30:11supplication as as he was you know uh
30:14about to be killed
30:17he said Allah
30:23foreign
30:28if you have forbidden me from the
30:30companionship of your prophet
30:32then do not forbid that companionship
30:35from my son's Saeed
30:37so if I'm gonna die in this pathetic way
30:40you know on my way back to Mecca and not
30:43find not find guidance then I'm content
30:47with that but do not let my son Saeed be
30:52prevented from that guidance so Saeed he
30:56makes Dua for him
30:59you know
31:00Zaid was saving other people's daughters
31:03right
31:06would go on to become the wife of five
31:12sounds crazy right and not just any
31:15shahada first she was married to Zaid
31:20then after
31:22she was married to Abdullah
31:27the son of Abu Bakr Sadiq then after
31:29Abdullah died
31:32married her
31:34then after Omar died
31:37married her
31:40and then after she outlived zubair after
31:43zubair died
31:45married her
31:48the same woman married
31:52the son of Abu Bakr himself as zubair
31:56and the son of Ali al-hasid
31:59the same woman and subhanallah she never
32:02had children from all five of them
32:05so subhanallah the same woman would live
32:07long enough
32:08to marry five of the greatest men
32:12that would be mer that would be martyred
32:14so these were also Hada at some point
32:16and each time subhanallah actually she
32:18died before Hassan
32:22you know if he was one of the the the
32:25people of Makai would have went and
32:27buried this girl but look what his kids
32:30become
32:31one of the first people to accept the
32:34prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam so
32:35his Dua was answered
32:38that he would be at the service of the
32:40Prophet salallahu said is one of the
32:42first people to accept the prophet
32:45sallallahu alaihi wasallam so just you
32:47know subhanallah in these moments
32:50he makes Dua
32:52and he asks Allah that Saeed
32:55has the service of that he's able to
32:58serve the prophet sallallahu the way
33:01that he would not be able to serve the
33:04prophet sallallahu
33:07subhanallah as as Allah would have it
33:10Saeed would marry Fatima the sister of
33:13Omar
33:15you remember that story of um going to
33:18his sister's house and beating the the
33:20husband of his sister that was
33:30the son
33:31for his monotheism but of course that
33:34story instead ends with um himself
33:37becoming a Muslim and uh and and being a
33:40very close Confidant to uh
33:45so why did where do we pick up with the
33:49story what do you make of this man
33:52I mean what is his fate
33:55surely Allah would not punish this man
33:57and he died five years before the
33:59prophet saws so he died around the year
34:01605. five years before the prophet saws
34:03even knew that he was going to be a
34:06prophet that Allah would appoint him
34:07with prophethood
34:09so it's not like warakah who lives
34:11sometime
34:13it's he died five years before was
34:16murdered on his way back to Mecca so
34:18Allah knows if he would have even lived
34:20even naturally to see the Prophet
34:22sallallahu alaihi wasallam come out so
34:26what do we make of
34:28this man and this is where the
34:30narrations are just incredibly beautiful
34:33in an authentic narration Saeed and Omar
34:37may Allah be pleased with them go to the
34:39prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam and
34:41they are conflicted
34:44Saeed wants to ask the prophet saws what
34:46happened to his father
34:48Umar wants to know what happened to his
34:50uncle and they're afraid of the answer
34:53like is it possible that this man spent
34:56his life
34:58on monotheism and striving for guidance
35:01and doing all these Noble acts just from
35:04his natural noble character and he's in
35:07hell
35:08I mean what do we make of him can we say
35:10it all the Allahu I know may Allah be
35:11pleased with him can we can can we make
35:13Dua for him so Saeed starts off and he
35:17says Allah
35:19you know my father
35:22and you know who he was like I don't
35:24even have to go I don't have to make a
35:26case
35:28o messenger of God you know who my
35:30father was
35:32and they asked the prophet saws
35:35they didn't ask him is he in heaven or
35:37hell
35:39because it would be too painful if the
35:41prophet saws was to say he's in hell
35:42right that's that would have been too
35:44hard for them to hear so instead they
35:46asked can we seek forgiveness for him
35:52and the prophet sallallahu alaihi
35:54wasallam said
35:57seek forgiveness for him he said for for
36:00by Allah I saw on the day of judgments
36:03on the day of judgment as the prophets
36:05line up with their umam behind them with
36:08their Nations behind them
36:09124
36:12000 Prophets
36:13all line up on the day of judgment
36:16behind them are their Nations some
36:19prophets have one person some have
36:22uh 10 some have ten thousand some have
36:2680 the prophet saws has the largest
36:30Nation after him the nation of Musa
36:32Islam of Moses peace be upon him
36:35so these large Nations line up behind
36:37their prophets right
36:40and subhanallah the prophet saws
36:47that he will be resurrected all by
36:50himself as an ummah the man is an ummah
36:53he's a nation and in an authentic
36:56narration this is so touching because it
36:58gives you the Vivid image he says
37:02between me and Jesus the son of Mary
37:06so while the lines of the prophets are
37:08there and may Allah make us amongst
37:10those standing behind rasulullah
37:13with his testimony for us imagine you're
37:16lining up behind the prophet saws and
37:18you're looking
37:19and you see Jesus over there Islam and
37:22between the prophet saws there's this
37:25one man standing all by himself
37:28and he is an ummah all by himself he is
37:31a nation all by himself and that is
37:37and this is you know it's incredible
37:39because the you know Allah says about
37:41Ibrahimovic
37:45Ibrahim was a nation in and of himself
37:47in regards to the good that he used to
37:49do what came out of Ibrahim Islam was
37:53the good of an entire nation from that
37:55one man of Abraham came a nation of good
37:57right
37:59and here you have Zaid who had this love
38:02for Ibrahim in the way of Ibrahim
38:04standing by himself literally as in
38:07ummah literally as in ummah no prophet
38:11he cannot be fit in any other way
38:14he can't be fit in any other way except
38:17as a nation in and of itself there's
38:20more to this
38:22and it gets more beautiful as you dive
38:24into these narrations
38:26he was a companion of Zaid
38:30was one of the first to accept Islam he
38:33came to the prophet saws
38:35in the fourth year after the call of the
38:37Prophet saws which is relatively early
38:39if you consider the private and then
38:41public call of Islam
38:43and he told he was in tears telling the
38:47prophet saws this story
38:49he says that I was sitting with Zaid one
38:51day
38:53and Zaid says to me
38:56he says
38:59he said listen I'm waiting for a prophet
39:03from The Descendants I want you to know
39:06I'm waiting for a prophet from The
39:09Descendants
39:12he said that he will be on the way of
39:15Ibrahim he will call to Ibrahim and he
39:19pointed to the cabin he said and he will
39:20pray to the Scribbler he will pray in
39:22this direction he has no idea it's
39:24Muhammad he says but I'm waiting for
39:26this prophet
39:28and he said to him
39:30should I live to see him
39:32I will believe in him
39:35I will believe in him
39:37and I will support him
39:39and I will testify that he is a prophet
39:42of Allah but he said I have a feeling
39:45I'm not going to live long enough to see
39:47him I just have a bad feeling
39:50that I'm going to die before he comes
39:52out
39:53Ahmed was relatively younger
39:56so he said
39:59if you see him
40:04he said give my salaam to him it's
40:07beautiful he said when you see him
40:10give my Salam to him
40:12and follow him
40:15when the prophet saws made the call he
40:18said I went to the prophet saws
40:20and I became Muslim and I gave him
40:23salaam for me and I told him I said you
40:25know Zaid was sitting with me and Zaid
40:27said that I don't think I'm going to
40:29live long enough to see you but if I do
40:31see him I will believe in him and
40:32support him and testify that he's a
40:34prophet and he told me if I live to see
40:36you
40:38so I'm giving salaam to you from Zaid
40:42so the prophet sallallahu alaihi
40:44wasallam
40:46gave Salam back
40:49that Allah have mercy on Zaid which
40:53gives us the answer about saying
40:56doing the same prayers that we would do
40:58for any companion of the prophet
41:00sallallahu
41:02and he said to him
41:04to Ahmed he said
41:07yes
41:09he said I swear by Allah I saw Zaid in
41:13Jannah dragging his garments he was he
41:15has a long garment in Paradise carrying
41:19His Garment walking through and Jannah
41:21walking through in paradise and another
41:24authentic Hadith the prophet sallallahu
41:26alaihi wasallam foreign
41:33he said I entered into jamna I entered
41:36into paradise and I saw that Allah has
41:38reserved two levels of paradise for one
41:42man for his eight
41:44that Allah gave him
41:46two levels of paradise all by himself
41:50so the narrations go on and and I think
41:54it's befitting that we end with a with
41:57the eulogy the eulogy
41:59was given or the one who heard of his
42:01death and said these beautiful words
42:02about him was none other than his close
42:05friend warakaha will talk about next
42:07week in waraka said these these words of
42:10him in eulogy
42:12he said he
42:23foreign
42:41you were all together on the right path
42:45you were all together guided on the
42:47right path o son of AMR and gained the
42:49bounty and he says yeah
42:55and you saved yourself from the oven of
42:58the Blazing fire
43:00and then he said
43:05by choosing a lord who has no equal to
43:09him
43:10here
43:14and by your abandoning of the vain Idols
43:17as they are
43:28even if he was 60 layers beneath the
43:31Earth
43:32the mercy of Allah
43:34will reach him for all the Allah may
43:38Allah be pleased with them and have
43:40mercy on him obviously you know I think
43:42as far as lessons are concerned uh the
43:46prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam talks
43:48about this idea of intuition of of the
43:52righteousness of a Muslim that a soul
43:54that is at peace with Allah is naturally
43:55guided to the things that are pleasing
43:57to Allah
43:58that when the fitra is intact when the
44:02when a person's natural disposition
44:04towards God is intact that they will
44:07naturally find themselves in that
44:09worship and in that service and even
44:11though Zaid had
44:13absolutely no idea of what was to come
44:17after him
44:18but that's the sincerity you see what's
44:21very prevalent and and many of these
44:23stories that we'll go through is a
44:24refusal to be complacent a refusal to be
44:28complacent and to look deeper into
44:31society around him and Zaid thinking
44:34deeply and deeply and deeply about
44:36Theology and becoming the person that he
44:40was so we ask Allah to have mercy upon
44:43him and to be pleased with him and
44:46you know we will continue next week
44:49inshallah with the story of waraka which
44:51I'm which I'm really looking forward to
44:52because it's another one of those
44:54fascinating stories and you can see the
44:55makings of that Society those Sparks of
44:59tohed those Sparks of monotheism that
45:02exist before the prophet sallallahu
45:04Society and also the fact that the tohed
45:08of Ibrahim comes with far more
45:11implications than merely worshiping
45:13Allah was guided to protect the young
45:18girls that were being buried alive
45:19guided away from Zina and Hammer guided
45:22away from adultery and from
45:24intoxication guided to all of these good
45:26things in a natural way and that is the
45:29way of Ibrahimovic not merely the
45:31worship of Allah but the honoring of
45:33Allah with everything else
