intro
0:00I have 3 million mastery points and hit
0:02well into master elo on several accounts
0:04while one tricking Soraka. Here are some
0:06tips that I think you won't get anywhere
0:08else.
1. blast cone tech
0:11You don't actually have to walk past a
0:12blast cone before hitting it. You can
0:14just flash during your auto attack to
0:16escape even faster. This isn't
0:18necessarily unique to Soraka, but it can
0:20save you in a pinch and it looks really
0:22cool.
0:23>> Ooh, that was a sick mechanic.
2. invisible equinox
0:26As long as the center of your Equinox is
0:28out of vision, the enemy won't be able
0:30to see it. So, if you hide your casting
0:32animation by stepping into the bush and
0:34then place it on the edge, you can do
0:36some nice out plays.
3. passive 180° cone
0:39If you understand this about Saraka's
0:41passive, you will get way better at
0:43using it. Notice how we are going this
0:45way while our low health teammate is
0:47over there, but we are still sped up by
0:49our passive. That's because our passive
0:51works in a 180° cone. You don't actually
0:54have to be facing your teammate to get
0:56the speed boost.
4. astrophysics
0:59The further away you cast your star
1:01call, the longer its travel time, but at
1:04what range exactly is it impossible to
1:06dodge? I asked an astrophysics student
1:08friend to help me figure that out. He
1:10made this awesome tool in Desmos, which
1:12I'll link in the description in case you
1:14guys want to play with it yourselves. To
1:16phrase the question more precisely,
1:18we're trying to find out at which range
1:20we can place our Q directly on top of
1:22the enemy and it be mathematically
1:24impossible for the enemy to dodge even
1:26if they are scripting. And outside of
1:28that range, we start having to predict
1:30our targets movement to hit them. The
1:32two variables that we need to account
1:34for are the hitbox and movement speed of
1:36the enemy. For most champions in bot
1:38lane, that's around 65 and 330. This
1:42orange circle represents the max range
1:44of our Q. And this blue circle
1:46represents our auto attack range which
1:48we will be using as a reference point.
1:50This overlay shows us the range at which
1:52we can place our Q directly on top of an
1:54opponent and they won't be able to dodge
1:56it even if they are scripting. So
1:57outside of that circle, we have to lead
2:00our target. Seems pretty simple so far,
2:02right? But what if the enemy has tier
2:04one boots? When we add 25 movement speed
2:07to the V slider, this is what happens to
2:09the center targeting range. So, if the
2:11enemy has boots, they have to be even
2:13closer than our auto attack range. Now,
2:15let's see it in action. Kaiso is just
2:18barely outside of our auto attack range.
2:20So, we use a small amount of lead
2:22targeting and predict she will dodge
2:23away from her minions and Millio. And we
2:26hit her with the edge of our Q on the
2:27last frame.
5. edited config
2:30As you may have noticed, I always have
2:32my auto attack range on display. It
2:35helps me with spacing and estimating how
2:37to aim my Q. To do this, you need to
2:39find your inputini and open it with
2:41notepad. Then find this line and make
2:44sure it says space in brackets. Now,
2:46pressing spacebar will not only center
2:48your camera, but also turn on your
2:50character menu, which shows your auto
2:52attack range. And while you're at it,
2:54you might as well go to persisted
2:55settings.json and rightclick it. Then go
2:58to properties and set it to read only.
3:00That way, your settings can't be changed
3:02and they will stay no matter which
3:04account you log into. But if you want to
3:06change your settings later, you'll have
3:08to undo this first.
6. ult interactions
3:11Here's every alt interaction you need to
3:13know about. You can al people in Mord's
3:15Shadow Realm. And all of these
3:17invulnerabilities, including Guardian
3:19Angel, also don't stop you from healing
3:21with your alt. But Kindred's ultimate is
3:24a special case. As soon as anyone
3:26reaches 10% HP, their health locks and
3:29they can't be healed. But if you alt a
3:31quarter second before the alt runs out,
3:33your heal will go through. So you don't
3:35have to be super precise, but try to alt
3:38right at the end.
7. laning vs dashes
3:41When you're playing against an ADC with
3:43a dash, you have to be very conscious
3:45about your positioning. Look what
3:46happens when we try to queue Lucian.
3:48Even with bone plating up, you're always
3:51going to lose trades when they can just
3:52avoid your Q and hit you back for free.
3:55But when you invert your positioning
3:56now, they have to dash into range of
3:58your ADC to punish you for missing.
8. equinox usage
4:03When your ADC gets engaged on, I often
4:06see Soraka players use Equinox on the
4:08engager, but it's way better if you use
4:10it to stop the enemy ADC from following
4:12up on their supports engage. You should
4:14only use it on the support if it can
4:16stop the engage from happening at all.
4:22But the most important thing is to use
4:24it well in team fights. If you can find
4:26an angle to stop an or from recasting
4:28his alt, that can win you the game. But
4:31if you pick the wrong thing to use it
4:32on, everyone else on the enemy team
4:34knows they have a window to do whatever
4:36they want.
4:39I promise you, everybody on the enemy
4:41team is tracking it. So don't use it for
4:43fun just because it's off cooldown. And
4:45when you get into the load screen, you
4:47should already be playing the team
4:48fights in your head and make a plan for
4:50how you are going to use it. If you
4:52watched this far, you must have liked
4:53it. So why don't you subscribe for more
4:56content like this? Until next time.
